    If you are looking to play some baseball, MLB The Show 23 is 100% the first option to pick. It has game modes galore with control schemes to suit any kind of player. The presentation is absolutely fantastic and the in-game help can turn most players into proficient bat swinging monsters.

    MLB The Show 23 does enough to revamp an excellent formula, while the Storylines: Negro Leagues mode serves as an important history lesson within the confines of the game.

    MLB The Show 23 is far from a perfect game. Diamond Dynasty is still a pay to win, albeit without so much brazenness; the character models still need a little more work for photorealism, while aspects such as character creation still need more work for a player to take advantage of. However, this is the best installment in the history of an excellent sports franchise.

    I can recommend MLB The Show 23, but not to everyone. It's a very good game that even players who aren't necessarily baseball fans can enjoy. And that's totally cool. Other sports series should also have such options. However, in terms of content, there are very few changes. The educational story mode in The Negro Leagues is great. Some minor changes in other modes are also nice. But it's more like an expansion of 22. Even on the technical side and also on the rules side.

    MLB The Show 23 is another solid addition in what is the best annual sports sim franchise. San Diego Studio continues to show a deep knowledge and understanding of baseball and the culture surrounding it. The addition of The Negro Leagues is a massive improvement to the overall product, and the ability to scan your face into Road to the Show is a fun new feature as well. Outside of some minor league woes, MLB The Show is another grand slam.

    MLB The Show 23 plays it safe with regards to its Road to the Show and Franchise modes, with both of these aspects in need of a good old-fashioned revamp at this stage in the game. However, Diamond Dynasty is a total blast that very wisely chooses to be generous with its rewards, whilst the all-new Storylines mode introduces a thoroughly entertaining and educational journey through The Negro Leagues that's been our absolute highlight of the package so far this year. With the series' top-notch core gameplay and wealth of control and accessibility options helping to smooth over the rough of a few lacklustre modes, this is another super solid entry in the franchise.

The gameplay is genuinely one of the most painstakingly bad experiences of all time. If you know what you are doing and are looking for a game to play competitively online, stay far away from this one. And besides the brutally terrible gameplay. The game is exactly the same as it has been for the last decade just with a new cover and roster updates. Lastly, SDS absolutely cooked diamond dynasty with the addition of sets which makes getting new cards not even enjoyable because you know that you will not be able to use them in two months time.… Full Review »

This issue has been noted on the official forums since April and they have yet to fix it as of mid-July. I've given up on the game as I only ever play RTTS and have for the last decade plus.
