    MLB The Show 23 continues to be an incredible baseball game if you’re looking for a flexible experience with real-life players. You can get deep into the details with hardcore simulation play, especially with the improved in-game UI that gives you a cleaner readout on the specifics of your pitch or swing. You can also flip the game to casual and just sit back and relax, ripping some dingers and striking some dudes out. Or you can toss out the idea of playing full games and just experience history in the incredible Negro League Storylines mode. Even if the visuals border on being potato quality, this game rocks on Switch.

    With the proviso that the Switch version is the least impressive option in terms of presentation, MLB The Show 23 is a very easy game to recommend on its own merits. The improvements over last year’s version are modest outside of the excellent new Storylines mode, so it might be a tougher sell if you own MLB The Show 22, but that’s the nature of the yearly sports game beast. A solid-playing, well-rounded take on baseball with plenty to offer for any fan of the sport.

    MLB The Show 23 is a better all-round package than last year's outing, thanks in large part to the new Storylines mode that adds a well-presented and educational history lesson for players to get involved in. In terms of this Switch port, presentation is perfectly acceptable, with the expected graphical downgrades made, but the framerate can still be troublesome in places, making for play that feels sluggish in comparison to other platforms. This issue aside, though, this is a solid port that brings all the modes found in other versions of the game, making for a decent overall option for MLB fans.

    With the new Franchise features like the draft, improved gameplay as well as new modes to play, MLB The Show 23 is another amazing baseball game.

    A main part of the Diamond Dynasty (mini seasons) has been broken for 3 of the first 4 weeks. You play through the the season and in theA main part of the Diamond Dynasty (mini seasons) has been broken for 3 of the first 4 weeks. You play through the the season and in the middle it will give you an error that prevents you from moving forward. So far the only way they have suggested to fix to restart the season. Which for many didn't fix the issue. I understand that game that gets updates can have problems but the communication from SDS has been horrible. If you play the Road to the show or Franchise aspects you might enjoy the game. Diamond Dynasty is just a lesson in frustration and don't expect SDS to communicate if they are evening trying to do something about it.… Expand
