    Unsure what some of the reviewers here were expecting regards to the similarities with FH4. There are similar aspects (it is a driving game) and as one of the most successful driving games ever, they would be foolish not to use the same blueprint. Mexico is more varied then the UK in its environments and there are some cool set pieces. Sure some of the non-driving interactions are a bit hammy, and I dislike being referred to as "superstar" (I never reached level 200 in FH4) - but you are here for having fun in a driving experience which is as authentic or arcadey as you wish.
    There must be hundreds of hours of gameplay here, along with the weekly events which playground will bring in, and the DLC when it drops. Especially on game pass this is great value for your money.    … Expand

    I really dont like the hippster-event story again and again! Please make something new and more adult, there is so much potential! The rest of the game looks very nice but it feels a bit like a dlc from fzh 4...

    this is one of the best games I've played, graphics 10/10, gameplay 10/10, fun 10/10, you can see that playground games have done a great job compared to the last part. After that I cannot play in Forza Horizon 4!!!

    This game is phenomenal. Whether it be the racing, the scenery, or just the exploration, this game does everything extremely well. The world itself is so compelling that advancing through the races and challenges seems entirely optional. I’ve spent hours just driving around Mexico and taking pictures.     Best car game ever. You must play it even if you are not car racing fan. I am not and love Forza Horizon. Woth to.try especially cause it us in gamepass. For me.only music is worst then ot was.in the previous games but it is a individual.

Je suis pas le seul dans mon cas il y a beaucoup de personne qui sont dans mon cas parce que excusez moi du peu mettre un jeu acces au gamepass pc et que tu vois sa fonctionne pas c'est un peu se foutre de la gueule ils ont pas fait de mise a jour pour un patch ou autre comme connerie mais heureusement c'est que 1 euro j'ai dépenser et le mois prochain je me désabonne du gamepass pc il y en a marre et personne qui gueule, quand c'est sur du cyberpunk 2077 tout le monde gueule moi je comprend plus rien ou c'est encore une histoire de pognon a plus et au revoir… Expand

    I guess its good but it's crashing every time I try to start it, tried all the fixes devs posted installed game twice but nothing changed. So I don't know how huge company like playground is releasing broken game. Even if they fix it I will have feeling that it will crash anytime.

    For PC: Unplayable. The game will launch, but will crash every time in the exact same spot. When you get the AMG Mercedes in the tutorial, it will crash with no error. I've read through all guides, done all the things. I have 3 different PCs that I've tried it on, they all have the same error. One is an Intel i9 with a 3090, another a ryzen 5950x and a 3090, and the third is a Ryzen 5800xFor PC: Unplayable. The game will launch, but will crash every time in the exact same spot.     Weather feels way less forced and way more natural. The story is more coherent than FH4 which was in my opinion one of its low points (still great). It goes back to the Festival upgrade formula. But you progress through category specific showcases and the usual racing. The sounds were another low point in FH4 and they fixed it perfectly here. Everything sounds natural and real.

    The UI is great and refreshing. Ray tracing is great.

    There are lots of details in the story that are actually real stories that Playground games had to dig for. And it just makes it feel more like your in Mexico. Only big problem is it crashed my pc in the beginning(fix has been found) And at ultra settings there are some graphics issues in the distance (fix in the works). Actually any minor bug I came across was already documented and a fix is in the works. (Early Access)    … Expand

    Absolutely phenomenal game. Better than anything on PlayStation. Sony fans wish they had a racing game this good. I can't put it down. Playground games take a bow. I cannot wait to see what this incredible dev team will do with Fable. What a fantastic time to be an Xbox player

    the game looks very nice, i have been playing it for a week, it has been taking all my time, there are a few things that i think are bugged when i start driving the motorway @ full speed about 300mph the npc cars all go away. I am not sure that is down to playing online, something very little but still great game

    This should have been a DLC for FH4.

    This game doesn't deserve those high ratings because of it's cringe "high-fiving everyone bro!! story", recycled textures and gameplay, and for being absolutely boring to begin with.

Although it's done well and looks great, especially with the huge draw distance, I liked the FH4 setting with the seasons a lot more. Otherwise, it's got a few imperfections, and awkward features,    It's more like a 9 - 9.5 for me, but I'll round up.

    Forza Horizon 5 is the most gorgeous game of 2021 and the most fun racing game ever. The open world is huge and beautiful, the cars are amazing.

    I play on PC, Xbox SX, PS5 and Switch - and FH 5 is my GOTY. Great work Playground.

    Desde que uno inicia el juego es una belleza, un tutorial el cual te envuelve. Una vez ya en mapa puedes hacer lo quieras, seguir la historia, te regalan varios coches, etc...Es una sensación increíble. Fuerte GOTY este año. Se viene. Gigante Xbox y Playground Games!

Physics is controversial, but I liked it both in standard mode and in simulation.     Forza Horizon 5 takes the Horizon franchise to another level giving voice to your character, name and improve the mechanics, graphics and story in contrasts to the another titles, definitely the best game of Xbox Series X and a solid candidate to the GOTY 2021

    Yo soy una persona que no le gusta demasiado los juegos de carreras/autos pero Forza Horizon 5 se ha ganado un lugar en mi corazón, creo que hay algo que puede enamorar a cualquier persona sin importar su genero de preferencia. Lo he estado jugando en mi Xbox Series X y los gráficos son impresionantes incluso en el modo    La diversión con Forza Horizon 5 es prácticamente infinita.

    Yo soy una persona que no le gusta demasiado los juegos de carreras/autos pero Forza Horizon 5 se ha ganado un lugar en mi corazón, creo que hay algo que puede enamorar a cualquier persona sin importar su genero de preferencia. Lo he estado jugando en mi Xbox Series X y los gráficos son impresionantes incluso en el modo rendimiento (el cuál es el modo en el que lo estoy jugando), es simplemente una delicia visual. Las miles de actividades por hacer y el mundo abierto por México es impactante.

    Se los recomiendo a todos los suscriptores de Xbox Game Pass, de verdad tienen que descargárselo e instalarlo.

    Este juego es una carta de amor en muchos aspectos, a los amantes de los carros, videojugadores en general, al arte gráfico y a México.
    Es el Forza Horizon mas entretenido y basto hasta la fecha, sin duda un imprescindible para cualquier jugador. No puedo mas que agradecer a Playground Games de algo tan increíblemente hermoso.

    They literally stepped it up in every way! The tech being used it really cool. The fact they are using ray-traced physics makes it even more immersive! Not only did they get me but also my wife who doesn't like any driving games!

    Absolutely fantastic and the best racing game of all time in my opinion. This is a serious contender for Game of the Year depending on how well Halo Infinite does. The small amount of people literally giving it a "0" are obvious Sony fanboys or trolls of other sorts.

    Don't get off of the Microsoft store. It won't let you play past the intro driving parts as the game constantly crashes as soon as you load back in to go to your first race. It might be different if on steam, but I highly doubt it. HOPEFULLY THEY FIX THIS SOON.

    Melhor Horizon da franquia! Ressalta tudo o que há de bom na franquia, é literalmente uma mesclagem das melhores coisas de cada um dos jogos da série, mas com um toque a mais, uma excelente trilha sonora e gráficos jamais vistos antes (XSX).

    Definitely capitalizes in the opportunities that Horizon 4 missed. Driving experience is a blast. The map size and event lists are much larger than previous games which is always a plus. Graphics are incredible on the Series X and as someone who uses photo mode every time I play.. it’s amazing.

    3 and 4 sucked, got bored after noticing there is literally no progression at all...Same applies to this one. Did not even bother with this one... Its race, wheelspin, race, wheelspin... Give me a break,,, You still get high end cars without even putting real effort in it... Its an unpopular opinion but this game is the most overrated    The most overrated piece of garbage ever...

    Not sure what they are celebrating but it sure as hell isnt car culture. Which is a shame cause Forza Horizon was better in the past and the concept stil is great but everything else is horrible.

    Forza Horizon 5 is a good game. If you played FH3 and/or FH4 doesn't feel a big difference. Graphics are cool, even the Xbox Series S, but there is no evolution in the way of playing. Controls are more complicated than other Forza Horizon, but it's a fun game.

    Forza horizon 5 is beyond anything I could have ever imagined in a racing game!! A true masterpiece!! All praises to playground games for such great consistency with their games.

    Best game of the year! I love forza horizon 5 in all ways like the driving mechanics that are fantastic ! Better than forza horizon 4 , Also the great optimization for PC and the comatibility with XBOX ONE gen!, The graphics also are very detailed and fantastic! Also México as place is perfect,it has all the forza horizon game must have and more , that brings me to the map that isBest game of the year!     They really nailed it this time. FH5 may be the best racing game ever made. It mixes arguably the most realistic graphics on console with plenty of fun racing action. The Mexico setting in 4K HDR is breathtakingly beautiful. This is a must-play title for Xbox.

    Let’s be clear, this is not a thinking game, it’s a doing game. As far as that’s concerned it’s a 10/10.     As far as that’s concerned it’s a 10/10. A technical achievement, a strong new installment into the series, BUT (and yes, there is a “but”) I was disappointed when I saw inclusivity features they chose to include. Before you reply angrily, stick with me for a second.

    I was not merely upset that they implemented inclusivity features. Right off the bat, they’ve expanded their Drivatar selections (the avatar stand-in for your character), they certainly featured more mixed-race and POC. Commendable, when compared to the last installment. They certainly added more hairstyles that are able to represent different kinds of ethnic hair. I had certainly taken note of the absence of such features in FH4. They even added in prosthesis and the option to choose your Drivatar’s gender-identity, though voice selection was, somewhat-understandably, limited to a binary of masculine and feminine British Voice Acting.

    I am appreciative of these features, even if they’re not aimed at me, as I’m sure they provide a level of comfort for their intended audience. After-all, this is a game about doing, not about narrative, these options needn’t have been added. That is what makes them considerate, that’s what makes them “a nice touch”. They don’t change the experience of the gameplay, but for those who have been accommodated for, the game has offered an additional level of “identity-comfort”. If you’re the kind of player who likes to play as “You” and these offerings help you to accomplish that, I’m happy to say you’ll get to play as You.

    What more can you want? You may be asking.

    Well, I want what I want. I want myself in this game. And you may now be asking “How could the developers possibly have included whatever niche identity you’re about to tell us about”

    Well, for a game that takes place in Mexico, which does an excellent job capturing so much of Mexican topography, ecology, city-planning, visual and musical culture, there aren’t many options if you’re a Mexican who wants to play as “You”.

    I want to be clear. I will be playing this game for the next few years, but I can’t help lament that in a game with so much vision, I can’t play as me.

    After much rumor of FH5 taking place in Mexico, the formal announcement of the location in Summer of 2021 blew me away. “They’re actually doing it!”, I thought, “They’re actually going to make a AAA game influenced by Mexico!”

    As a first-generation American of Mexican descent my first let down was not being able to find my name in the name selection. While they did bolster the selection of Latinx/Latin/Latin-America/Ibero-American names, mine wasn’t there. “No biggie” I thought to myself, “it’s never been in any other game, and at least your last name is there”.

    While my name is still in the naming calendar traditionally used by Catholic Mexicans, it is, admittedly odd and rare. So, I brushed it off. Knew I would feel a little sore, but moved along with the game.

    I played through the intro sequence and eventually came to the character customization I mentioned earlier. I took note of what I mentioned earlier (more POC, more inclusivity, etc.) but I realized of all the choices there was only one, possibly, Latino male to choose from.

    I need to emphasize, what let’s me down isn’t JUST that they didn’t offer this, it’s that they went above and beyond in every other metric and dropped the ball on a detail that would allow the cultural-subject of the game to play within their identity.

    I understand Playground Games is a UK based studio. I understood when I played FH4 and saw the demographic breakdown of the Driveatars “oh, this makes sense for a UK dev making a game that takes place in the UK.” I let it slide, but is it wrong that when they confirmed FH5 was going to be in Mexico I thought “I might actually see my name” “I might actually get to hear it from the GPS as I rip road” “I might actually get to see someone like me at the podium”, I don’t think that’s wrong.

    This may have been a longwinded way of saying “no mexicans in the drivatars” maybe simplicity would have been better, but my brain didn’t just say “no mexicans in the drivatars” My brain said “Wow, they did all this for their audience”, and then I sank into my chair when I realized the irony of how British it is of them to take the country but forget the people.

    Personally, I hope they can patch this in over the lifespan of the game. It’s a small detail that creates massive dissonance for some, and would be an easy fix.    … Expand
