    The way Dimfrost Studio manages to make you feel inside a fable with dark touches is brilliant.

    If it wasn’t for a few little niggles in regards the need to reload and work through jump mechanics, Bramble: The Mountain King could well have been verging on top marks. Even then, this is a game that is hugely enjoyable, and the Nordic world feels like a great place to spend some solid hours. Just be aware, this can be a scary place and at times a bit gruesome, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Bramble: The Mountain King isn’t a very long game; I’d estimate about 4-6 hours to play through it. I was fully engaged through the entire story and felt it never overstayed its welcome. It’s a beautiful game set in a dark and disturbing world. If you are a fan of narrative driven games, especially those with a dark undertone, I think you’ll enjoy Bramble: The Mountain King.

    Dimfrost Studio has managed the feat of making one of the cosiest games I've ever played, only to completely change its character and become one of the most creepy I've ever experienced.

    Bramble: The Mountain King is a dark and brooding slice of Nordic folklore that's well worth digging into, despite some notable technical shortcomings. There's an inherent jankiness to the gameplay here that permeates its platforming, boss battles and exploration. However, if you can make peace with these rough edges, you'll find a tale that's still dripping in atmosphere, packed full of wonderful details and a menagerie of foul fairy-tale beasties that draw you in and keep the short campaign well and truly interesting.

    For me, this game is quite simply the independent game of 2023! The AD is simply magnificent, and the game's universe is ultra-well crafted.For me, this game is quite simply the independent game of 2023! The music is just magical and goes very well with the theme of the game...The narration is perhaps the small drawback of the game because it is done a lot in the environment and through books...this may disturb some people. As for the scenario, without going into detail, it's interesting, with lots of questions about death, regrets, choices... in short, it's not Nolan, but it holds up. As for the technical side, I played the game on Xbox Series X in constant 60FPS.… Full Review »
