Jun 10, 2018Vampyr is an ambitious experience that’s packed with atmosphere and personality. The game’s greatest achievement, however, is how well all of its systems come together to produce constant catch-22 dilemmas. It’s a game that truly puts the narrative power into the hands of the player, which ultimately results in a deep and immersive journey through a dark and compelling plot.

Jun 24, 2018Vampyr is a well executed, realistic and rounded game. It manages to takes us back to classical vampirism and its difficult choices make us part of it. Despite its technical failures, Vampyr is a perfect game for vampire folklore lovers. Dontnod Entertainment has resurrected gothic games magnificently.

Jun 26, 2018Vampyr is a great rpg action game for those that want a good horror RPG that is very character focused. You REALLY have to enjoy in-game conversations to get the full enjoyment out of the game so keep that in mind. The amount of history and opinions through science that this game brings to table to explain vampirism and health issues is quite intriguing and help it stand out from many other vampire games.
-
Jun 13, 2018There’s no doubt it can be a bit slow going, especially getting to know the people of this world, but if you can deal with that, then Vampyr is a very good all round experience that’s to be appreciated.
-
Jun 18, 2018A good action-RPG, with an absorbing story and a solid combat system. It lacks interesting side quests though, while showing a sub-par technical production. Lovers of the genre and vampire stories should definitely give it chance, however.
-
Jun 18, 2018Vampyr is one of the year's most interesting games, cementing Dontnod as one of the most interesting developers around. Go get your teeth into it.

Official Xbox Magazine UKJul 23, 2018Atmospheric taste of life as a vamp, nicely balanced between action and investigation. [Aug 2018, p.88]

Jun 21, 2018Vampyr is a game I feel a lot of people will be discussing in a few years. It will be remembered fondly with its interesting ideas and brilliant storytelling. I wish the hindrances were not so apparent though. I feel like a lot of people will be turned off by the poorly paced intro and combat. Still if you are like me and can look past those blemishes, Vampyr is an amazing ride well worth the journey.
-
Jun 19, 2018The gameplay inconveniences are easier to overlook than the rush of endgame exposition, but both of these issues are slightly outweighed by the narrative hits, which come along more frequently than the game’s misses.
-
Jun 17, 2018The story, the world and its characters are all oddly compelling, despite some visual and technical shortcomings. Despite its issues, Vampyr is a rare instance in a game where I felt like my choices meant something and had consequences. It’s a huge shame that repetitive combat and exploration means it doesn’t keep up that momentum from beginning to end.

Jul 6, 2018Without a majority of the characters, the time between the major story beats would be particularly dull without anyone to talk to or side quests to complete. To take the evil path and embrace the vampire side of Jonathan, is to kill what life there is in Vampyr. Although it is important that there are consequences to your actions, some of which do have an immediate impact to the world, there isn’t enough to balance it out and make being evil fun or interesting.
-
Jun 5, 2018Vampyr is both amazing and irritating. Yes, the fighting system is very forgettable and the level-design is frustrating, but the world and the NPC are so great you’ll have a good time anyway.
-
Jun 18, 2018Vampyr is a flawed but somewhat impressive experience that plays differently than a lot of other games. It isn’t something that will appeal to a wide audience, but it’s worth checking out if you’re okay with a slow burn and don’t mind lots of reading. Just don’t go in expecting another homerun like Life is Strange. This is a very different game, and one that does tend to be overlong.
-
Jul 5, 2018Vampyr is worth digging up out of its crypt and giving it a go. It will satisfy the fans of all things Vampire.
-
Jun 19, 2018Through the fog awkward mechanics and unsatisfying decisions (not to mention some dumb story twists), the fun and intriguing core of Vampyr is sometimes visible. Unfortunately, that fog lifts only rarely, leaving most of the experience shrouded in darkness.
-
Jun 6, 2018Vampyr is at its best when players are digging into the lives of London’s citizens and choosing who to kill or who to spare, so it’s unfortunate that the developers felt the need to shoehorn in uninspired combat and frustrating exploration elements. Beneath these problems is a classic vampire story that leverages its grim visuals and moody soundtrack to create an engrossing atmosphere, but the many technical issues still make Vampyr hard to recommend, even for diehard fans of the genre.
