The most fun I've had in an online shooter since Modern Warfare. Played for hours this morning. It is accessible, and inexperienced players can still have a good time, but there's a huge amount of depth there for those who want it. Everything just works, be it the balancing, the servers, and the technical stuff (no crashes). Best game I've played in ages.

I really have enjoyed this game a lot. Never has a game made me feel awesome even when I lose and am not at the top of the list. I really don't understand all the complaints about the game, it's pure fun.
I know some people were having issues with the servers, but doing a hard reset on my console and on the consoles of everyone I've spoken with seems to resolve all server issues.

I love that Titanfall is so well balanced and nothing feels overpowered or complicated. Everything about the game is intuitive and responsive.
The campaign may be hard to follow, but it's there and pretty epic if you pay attention to it. You get to play from both sides of the war between the Militia and the IMC. It may be lacking in story, but the game play exceeds the need for a AAA story.

No matter how small you may feel in the battle you always have a chance to survive and keep fighting. I will say that the bots in-game are a little annoying as it is hard to tell if it is a bot or an enemy (unless looking at the radar) and you can find yourself shooting a bunch of bots and end up getting killed by a real player.

All in all the game is a great new style that brings great aspects from other games and adds its own twist.

Titanfall is better than a cup of coffee in the morning to wake you up.

Does it have a great campaign? No. Does it have the best graphics ever? No. Does it have a single player game? No. But where it excels is in full-throttle-high-octane-seat-of-your-pants-all-the-cliches-I-can-think-of action. To say this game is fast-paced would be an understatement. We can sit here and debate

Loved the beta. Loving the full game. Awesome game and I'm not really an FPS player but this game is so fun and amazing that I got hooked. It has a game balance that even though you're not a good FPS player you can still compete well by using some sneaky tactics and/or movements. I'm even looking more forward more to the campaign and try out both factions.

Awesome game. This game brings new dynamics to the FPS genre. Respawn have the balance spot on nothing feels out of wack but there certainly is variety available. Though the campaign multiplayer could have a bit more focus on the story with deeper characters it still is highly enjoyable.

Never have a felt something is "overpowered" as each weapon honestly comes down to preference and proficiency with said weapon. Not to mention the starting assault rifle is the "best" gun in the game. Any gunfight I have lost was because I was out played by the other pilot. Only server issue I had was at the completion of the last mission of my first campaign, the server disconnected during the ending cinema. All my stats counted, but I didn't get the achievement. No other problems since at all. I live in Oklahoma, so perhaps this is a regional thing. I've also experienced no issues with anything else related to Xbox Live. I'm surprised, I even had problems connecting during the Call of Duty free Weekend most of the time.

Next, the game. You know enough about it. I love it. The game is so smooth, you'd never notice any of these so-called framerate issues that likely plague the unoptimized PC version. I played on both Xbox One and PC during beta and can attest to the fact that at least with my 7970, during online matches Titanfall was unplayable with v-sync on and to much screen tearing, more than X1, to the point I couldn't stand it. Besides, a game like this is meant for a controller and I couldn't see myself using a kb+m for this.

Lastly, only thing keeping it from a 10 are the commercials. The problem? They are great. The Titan intros and the my buddy commercials. You'd almost think this game's story mode would have loads of humor in it like Portal mixed with Call of Duty/Gears of War. The story is less understandable than all of the CoDs up to Ghosts, which is hard to do. If I play this for 30 or 40 hours it would have been worth the money. I'll wait to see what the season pass has in store. As long as it's not 5 maps total, I'll get it. Maybe they should make another campaign with the season pass with a better story and drop those maps into the classic rotation.

Better on PC, but this game was the best new IP this generation. it is a shame how respawn ruined this franchise with it's awful sequel spinoff. Do not buy Titanfall 2. Instead support this game and show the AAA industry that we won't take their crap anymore.

Then you throw in the jet packs & wall running other games had did it before but not running this smoothly. There already updating the games and new game types are on the way. Even the Halo franchise, which I have enjoyed for a long time, gets less and less play time, and I have spent more time in other genres. To put it plainly, the shooter genre just got stale. Nothing really new or compelling had come out in a long time, and the existing mechanics weren't enough to keep me around.

This changed with Titanfall. If nothing else, the movement of the game is enough to keep it from feeling like any other FPS out there. Jumping through second story windows, running on walls, and hopping from rooftop to rooftop just makes it feel different than any other FPS out there. The myriad ways you can traverse a map means that even if you have a general direction you like to travel on a given map, you have myriad ways of arriving there.

Throw the Titans into the mix, and this where things start to get really interesting. It essentially adds another game into Titanfall because the mechanics between being on foot and being in a Titan are so different. Where being on foot allows you visceral, fast movement and freedom, the Titans are a little more restrictive. You can only go certain places on the map, you are a hug target to any enemies on the map, and you need to think more about cover because being in a few-meter tall mech makes it harder to dodge fire. However, mastering the different Titans (there are three) and their various loadouts to give you the perfect combination for a given situation is very rewarding.

Speaking of rewards, although the game is short on story (the campaign mode is 9 missions that can be played from the viewpoint of each of the 2 factions), the various weapon rewards will keep you coming back for more. Whether it's getting the new scope for your carbine or unlocking the rapid fire mod for the Titan rocket launcher, there are some compelling upgrades that you're going to want to nab.

I've been having a blast with this game (more than any other shooter I have played in the past couple years), and suspect I will be for quite some time. Hats off to Respawn for breathing some new life into a genre that had otherwise begun to become very stale indeed.

6v6 in the beta seemed like a good balance but in the full version we could have done with at least 8v8. The minions are no use what so ever. The AI could have been turned up so they became more of a threat. The Titan on Titan battles are excellent and probably the most fun I've had in the game so far.

A point that ruins the game for me sometimes is the terrible frame rate when there is a lot going on. It must drop to 5 or 10 FPS at points.

On the positive side, the game is a sooo much fun. The maps are varied and very well designed and the weapons, burn cards and upgrades are spot on. I've not had this much fun in a shooter for a very long time and Titanfall makes COD, BF4 and Killzone look like the embarrasing 50 year old uncle who turns up at your 18th birthday party in jeans and a hoodie.

Buy it because it's the best Xbox One game, or Next Gen game out there at the moment but don't expect it to be perfect.

Whether you're running on the ground or piloting a titan, you can be equally as lethal, which gives it a nice edge. The game gives range to a huge array of tactics in comparison to CoD, but still keeps the fast-paced gameplay which results in frantic, epic, pragmatic gaming, which can occasionally also be hilarious. The customization options are limited, and the guns are a little unbalanced, resulting in a huge number of people running around with the standard assault rifle, seeing that it is noticeably better than any other arm overall. There is something exhilarating about calling in a Titan while being shot at, then having him pick you up and put you in the cockpit at the last second. This game, above all, is fair, equal, it's not overdone. The Titans are strong and sturdy, but even the newest pilot can take one down. There's a certain balance between the pilots and titans that needs to be recognized. Just because you are in a Titan doesn't mean that you're safe. Also, this game doesn't ride on the call of duty idea, "can't get a kill? No kill streak." If you don't get any kills, your Titan still comes. Theres no reason to rage quit a match. The game also looks beautiful, the sunlight through the trees as you're scaling buildings or running across walls. The sounds and world are believable, and that's awesome. The only thing that could make the game better is some kind of offline mode. Every once and a while, my internet may shut down or I might just want to play alone. I think the game would deserve a 10 if it had some sort of offline campaign or just custom match. But even without these, the game is great, just make sure you have a solid internet connection or the game is basically a waste of money. Titanfall is the future of first person shooters, and in my opinion, has beaten call of duty to the top. Call of duty no longer sits on it's throne. Call of duty gets old after a couple weeks, but titanfall never fails to impress, excite and entertain. If you have an xbox one, you should already have titanfall. If you don't, go and get it right now. Standing by for titanfall. Expand

However, the abundance of 10/10 reviews are completely unwarranted -- And not to mention suspicious. Most of these posters have 1 review. one. For Titanfall... And many of them read suspiciously similar. But I digress.

    The bad:

The major detraction of this game is its complete lack of content and misleading advertisement of a (nearly non existent) "campaign" which amounts to little more than a voice over during the pre-drop portion of the map. Otherwise it is the exact same as the MP. A measly three titans with no aesthetic customization and bare bones weapon/perk customization leaves a lot to be desired. The vanilla map rotation gets real old real quick as there simply are just not enough maps. A grand total of three Titans makes you wonder what exactly they spent their time doing. Surely it was not refining the concept and story. Over priced DLC and a a season-pass plan that are down right unscrupulous considering how LITTLE this game came with considering its 60 dollar pricetag. But this is a matter of opinion, and for many, not really a negative aspect.

The titans themselves are okay. Although I'm not sure that the various classes of chassis (heavy, medium, light) actually have enough of a role to change their functionality. They basically all do the same things, have the same weapons, etc. Ultimately the differences come down to maneuverability and the differences in maneuverability between the three are negligible at best.

The grahpics, I personally feel, are just fine, however many have cited this as something they take issue with. I believe this mostly has to do with the "next gen" tagline. I'm not sure what people expected in terms of graphical fidelity, but this seems fine to me. Some of the textures are grainy up close, but whatever. I can live with that. The truth is, the graphics are about where I expected them to be for a "next gen" console -- As a PC gamer, perhaps it is more forgivable as I realize "nextgen console" is really a "last gen PC".

    The good:

The maps that are there are well designed for both pilots and titans, textures and graphics are decent (although many were disappointed when they heard that they were supposed to be "next gen" -- Unfortunately "next gen" consoles ultimately are the equivalent of "last gen" for PC's.)

The gun play handles similarly to any CoD title you've ever played, making it accessible and fun.

the "parkour" is great fun and adds another element to the typical shooter experience. Although perhaps not as innovative as Max Payne's "bullet time" system, it is, nonetheless, a nice change from your typical modern day / not so distant future shooter.

Ripping pilots out of their titan with your own to finish them, is, quite simply, totally awesome. Although I do wish there were more animations for different styles of finishing moves. I also quite enjoy ripping the arm off the enemy titan and beating him to "death" with. it.

Ok guys it is an awesome game ok but it has its faults. Sure its great in the core gameplay but reviewers often only touch on that. The AI on grunts is stupid I wouldn't want it hard but I would want it to at least have a chance. You cant change the level like shooting down a ship or any thing like that. The customization is not up to par with call of duty and battlefield sadly. TheOk guys it is an awesome game ok but it has its faults. The most impressive aspect is the way in which as a pilot, you feel as if you stand a pretty good chance against a titan if you are smart and use your speed and abilities to your advantage, whilst as a titan you feel all-powerful and as if you are in the better situation;- and you are, so long as you are tactical in your titan.

If you've got this far, i recommend watching Adam Sessler's (a very well-known and trusted gamer) review on Rev3Games on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWbvXB85BZc), it is a very comprehensive review and you should enjoy it.

Excellent example of a new and exciting multiplayer game. Titanfall has successfully breathed fresh air into the online shooter scene, playing any other shooter after Titanfall just feels lackluster and flat. The game is already well supported and has successfully managed to make skill take a back seat and gives everyone a level playing field meaning you are free to just play and have fun.

Experinces that make the Guardian write articles about how gaming is art? Or good ol' fashioned enjoyment? I know where I stand - I didn't buy a console to have a little cry at an end scene or become emotionally engaged in a plight, i bought one to come home from work after a hard day and get a adrenaline rush that makes me forget about the world for a few hours.

Watch a film or play Infamous if you want a story, I will stick with simplicty/enjoyment over plodding along through a boring 'campaign' any day of the week.

I'm downgrading one point ONLY bc there isn't a traditional single player. BUT do NOT believe these negative scores from people who haven't even played the game. This game is a complete BLAST! The freedom in moving is ridic! Choosing your strategy to either be a pilot or titan at all times is amazing!

    This game is 100% FUN!

Never before have I played a game that kept such a high pace and energy level for so long.
The action rarely dies down, and when it does, it picks up again in a heartbeat.
I give the game a 9 just on the amount of fun there is to be had. The people giving it such low scores have never played it, and probably never will. They can be ignored. The biggest complaint is the lack of weapons.

The biggest complaint is the lack of weapons. There is a small number, with limited attatchments.
The game launches with 15 maps, and runs smoothly most of the time, with drops when the action gets intense. It doesnt take away from the fun, but it is noteable.
The game always feels balanced, I never felt like I was unfairly killed. It was always based on the other person's ability in the game, a problem I have had with Call of Duty for years.
Your range of movement is also impressive, with all runs, double jumps, and air kicks to keep action up.
It doesnt feel nor look like Call of Duty, the comparisons are based on nothing.
Though it isnt beautiful, it is pleasing to the eye. There are definitely worse looking games on the Xbox One and PS4

Single player? I understand this game isn't perfect but people are being extremely critical for no reason. What this game has achieved is different than COD, Halo, or any other shooter before. There is a lot of thought that went into this game. As someone who primarily plays FPS games, this is a huge step forward. It truly is incredible how well this game plays. The pace is frantic and WAYYYY faster than COD. The wall running is exciting and it is really interesting figuring out new routes to take. I wish there was more to do honestly. I don't see the need for a single player aspect of this game but maybe esports for sure. for that reason I give it a 9.5 as esports will definitely be integrated into this game in an update. Thanks for reading. :)

I definitely have to say. It looks like there are a ton on new reviewers on metacritic just to review titanfall. If you look at half of them, they have only reviewed PS4 games or nothing before. I had to create an account just to spell it out. It is incredibly sad what people are doing to tear down this game. The ones affected will be Respawn, not Microsoft so this is really wrong. This game does not deserve a 6.0 User score.

    Love this game!!
Let me clarify, I do not like Call of Modern Battlefield, or playing any of them online especially.
Was not really anxious for Titanfall. Got the beta, just to play something new.
Five hours later, I knew I was invested deeply in an addiction!
Tons of fun! Something very different offered here for a FPS, you really shouldn't miss this by any means!

Game is loads of fun. That's pretty much all that needs to be said. Doesn't deserve a 10 because it feels like it's missing something, maybe gamemodes. But, overall, this is the best shooter I have played in a long time. As someone who has long since grown tired of COD, it's safe to say that this game spits in CODs face. I get a thrill from it that I only get from Battlefield.

This is not the online shooter for those who don't like online shooters; that would be the also great Plants Vs Zombies. This is FPS for FPS fans and people whom didn't know they could be a online FPS fan!
The game is buttery smooth rarely, if ever chugs. Some have lamented the 720p resolution, personally I was too freaking busy wall walking, Titian jacking, fool cap'n to notice. A patch is coming for those who care, but for the first time in my life I could care less, the game looks good to me. Level design is fantastic, even tho I found few maps too claustrophobic for Titans, pilots always have multiple paths to move around the levels.
This game is not MechWarrior or any game of that ilk, to me the Titans are more of a power up than the sole focus of gameplay. I liked being in and out of titans, but mostly used them in guard mode to block access to hard points. Pilots are just too much fun!
Taking a point away for the way too long load times, lack of single player campaign, and price. If your gonna charge full price for a online only game, the the first round of Map packs to be free. The maps that are included are great, but sooner or latter you're gonna get bored. I just need more for my $60.

Aside from a few minor quibbles (I can jump across streets and hop over entire buildings, but a knee-high window ledge is insanely finicky to get past?) Titanfall is undoubtedly a great game which does an exceptional job of breathing new life into an increasingly-stale genre.
