Xbox One is better then PS4, and Sony wishes it could get titles like Microsoft can get but no true gamer uses the PS4, sucks to be those losers! And Titanfall surpasses expectations! Titanfall is the best :-)

Great game, well integrated Titan system, and a nice alternative from the more "realistic" Battlefield and Call of Duty games. For those who love online FPS's and want something different, this is the game. However different is all it is, it's nothing exceptional. To sum up this game in one phrase, it's Lost Planet meets Call of Duty done right. I give it an 8/10 - It's fun, well balanced, and you can easily loose dozens of hours. However it's overpriced with only 5 game types and no single player. You'll have a blast for a dozen hours or so, then the repetitive nature will keep this is a "side game" for you to play while you enjoy other stuff releasing this year.

Also as a side note, I would not advise buying the XB1 for this game. It's not graphically powerful, and the requirements needed on a PC are quite low. Even if you don't have a decent PC, you'd probably have just as much fun on the 360 with this game as you would on XB1.

Respawns CoD roots show plainly throughout this game with great controls that should immediately be familiar to any call of duty player. Weapon Balance is great and even as a pilot against a titan you never feel at a huge disadvantage. If there is a disadvantage it is when you are in the saddle as you are the biggest target in the area. Unfortunately there are some downsides to this game first off the campaign, while i applaud respawn for their attempt at multiplayer only they shouldn't have even bothered with the "campaign" mode is uninspired and the only reason it is even played is to unlock chassis. Secondly, for a game that is multiplayer only you would have expected more modes instead we get capture the flag, Team Death-match, a king of the hill type mode and one other that are best described as a riff on survivor from the last of us. Hopefully respawn will address this in future updates. In closing if you are looking for a fast paced multiplayer shooter look no farther as far as a Console seller killer app while close it looks like Microsoft will keep treading water until halo finally arrives. The universe for titanfall allows for variety in its beautiful 15 maps. Yes its not the prettiest game, but the art design makes up for it.

For peopled who are thinking about buying this game there are a couple of things you should be aware of. Although titanfall had a multiplayer campaign it is not what you would normally expect from a regular campaign. The most I got out of the campaign was a little bit of background for some of the multiplayer maps. Before buying titanfall you should be aware of this do you are not disappointed. Another thing to know is the game does feel like its lacking a bit in some areas. There are only 5 gamemodes and not much customization besides the basics. Even though its lacking in these areas the game itself is not affected because it's still a lot of fun to play.

Overall I find that the game is a unique experience. No it doesn't change the fps genre but it does add something unique to it. You can't compare it to cod, bf, or halo because titanfall is it's own game. If you love to play fps just to have a great time in multiplayer with your friends then titanfall is the game for you.

Well lets start with the reviewers most of the negative reviewers seem to make lax comments about the game being Cod with mechs or how the graphics don't look as good as the PS4. This is mostly sour grapes from people who have never even bothered to play it or are unable to play it. That is a sad thing from people wanting to bring the game down not because its a bad game but because its not on their console of choice.

If you don't want to check out the mainstream go listen to Totalbuscuits reviews.

The game is very good and all this as a first game from a new studio. They are however a studio of veterans but a new studio none the less. The game is almost flawless its a fantastic attempt to breath new life into what has become a fairly static genre. The balance between both the pilot gameplay and the titan game play is epic changing mid battle or calling in a Titan to act as a wingman never gets old. I will admit the game does not take many risks but most other games in this genre don't either. The game play can be broken into 2 types the pilot gameplay that feels somewhat familiar but also has a freshness about it I have not seen since COD4. The wall jumping adds speed and fluidity of movement around the fantastically designed maps giving the whole game a sense of rhythm. Mix this up with the epic titan battles that erupt around you and matches come to an end all too soon. The titan game play feels different enough to keep things fresh while still feeling somewhat familiar. I have to admit I never got board of calling in a Titan to aid me when trying to keep a hard point or charging in to blow its core when the odds where not in my favour. There are some bad points too the campaign lacks depth and could have been so much more than what is essentially a beginners mode. The frame rate seldom drops bellow a silky smooth 60 FPS and when it does you hardly notice it.

The game does benefit from a balanced unlock system rarely are you left feeling that you have been grinding for hours with no weapons or perks unlocked.

There have been a lot of complaints about the fact that the game is multiplayer only however I remember a little franchise called battlefield which was multiplayer only and was still great.

So to those who knock this without trying It I say its your loss and your narrow-minded view has probably robed you of a great experience.

While not perfect I believe the game provides a fresh take and shows what can be done when to breath new life into a stale genre.

Ultimately I remember a time when games where about gameplay and not solely about graphics I mean take dark souls does not look great but its fun to play. Titan fall looks great and is fun to play.

Extensive stat stracking, leveling up system, the guns and the 3 Titans chassis are a tiny bit of what Titanfall has to offer. Though the frame-rate can be choppy during intense battles, the game runs at a smooth 60 FPS. The Multiplayer is divided into two sections: Campaign and Classic. In campaign, you play 9 matches total on both sides (IMC and Militia) and that's pretty much it. It's 5 Attrition matches and 4 Hardpoint domination. It is extremely short clocking at under 2 hours, but this was expected. The real fun of the game is in the Classic mode. You pick a game mode, 5 of them and three were in the Beta and two new one, Pilot Hunter and CTF. Attrition, Hardpoint Domination and CTF are the nest because the game mechanics work beautifully in these modes. In the end, Titanfall is an awesome game worthy of it's 60$ price point. It's main default is its campaign which short and ordinary. With DLC to come, I can't seeing what Respawn Entertainment will do next ! Expand

Titans are strong and versatile yet enough options to distinguish and fair balance between the three. Customization are slim picking compared to other shooters but with DLC , and newer installments of the franchise, expect it to be loaded like no other.

The follows pretty basic game modes from CTF, to TDM, to last man standing. There's enough to go around but still leaves room to be desired.

I'm docking it one point due to the lack of a "real" campaign mode. I do wish that they would have included a SP campaign, but the MP campaign mode is still great and really fun, and helps to flesh out the background story.

I am a PC gamer and I own an Xbox one. I bought the game for the One instead of PC as I do enjoy more arcade like shooters on a controller.

First, this game is fantastic, and not because of E3 hype or COD roots. I was a large fan of CoD4: MW and MW2, but stopped there as I agreed with the creators that the direction CoD was going was bad. I also enjoy slower and harder experiances such as DayZ, STALKER, X-Com on Impossible Ironman...and let me lay to rest your fears. This game is not casualized, what it does is strike a fine line between pleasing hardcore players, but easing in weaker players into becoming better. The bot AI does indeed suck, but the balance of having bots and players adds ambiance to the environment and made the maps feel more like a war zone. This depth is great and is something I look for when I game, depth and immersion..,games like New Vegas, STALKER, Metro 2033, Amnesia: TDD, Skyrim all do this in various ways and being a parkouring pilot with smooth transition between ground and wall running to manning a 30ft mech is amazingly crafted. This game stands on gameplay alone but adds in loadouts and a lot of gear for a ton of variety...is it as much as BF4? No, that is a different beast all together.

The gameplay is smooth and incredibly balanced. No OP weapons or loadouts, but great gear making you feel powerful. Each death I learned but never felt cheated. The tactics for running mechs adds a third layer to the parkour and traditional shooting, and the fact it is a Source engine build makes the gunplay tight and responsive. The graphics are very good, do not be decieved by again neighsayers. Do note however that though this is a review for the next gen system, the fact that it is hitting Xbox 360, much like many new gen titles, means that both Sony and Microsoft are playing it safe as are production studios. No one is truly exploring the new machines yet and seeing what is possible, and much like last gen, there will be an infancy stage to get hings rolling. However, though graphically nice, Titanfall is affected by this play-it-safe attitude, but only there. The gameplay is truly next gen and amazing, they did not play it safe, created an idea, used a new engine compared to CoD's, and they succeeded. Get the game, I'll see you in game gents.

So, for the meat. This game has amazing mobility, that is extremely fluid on the PC. The game runs amazingly well. It has a great balance, and your actions seem to really matter. The game builds you, from the ground up, as a hero. From being able to run like a mad man all over the place, to farming grunts, to being able to bring down Titans. You and the other players are the heros.

The game has some issues that need fixed. It needs a much better match making system.
There are only a handful of guns. I see this as a strength and weakness. It allows for great balance, but at the cost of customization.

Most issues are fairly minor. I really do enjoy this game..

Titanfall on the Xbox One is a beautiful, fast paced and spectacular game that is fun but lacks in depth and long term interest. After all the hype leading up to release; the final game is distinctly lacking which leads to huge disappointment.

Titanfall on the Xbox One is a beautiful, fast paced and spectacular game that is fun but lacks in depth and long term interest. After all the hype leading up to release; the final game is distinctly lacking which leads to huge disappointment.

The game probably has the best FPS mechanics I've ever seen and it runs very smoothly. The game is balanced and the bullet detection is spot-on. These are critical areas in the genre and Titanfall has these bases covered. So what is wrong with it?

Firstly; 6v6 and bots is an issue. The maps are rich, varied and stunning but the combat often feels soulless. The player count has been sacrificed to accommodate the titans into the game and the gunplay really suffers for this. The core concept has ultimately destroyed a key part of the game already. The maneuvering and shooting may be fast and fluid but the combat just feels generic and samey. You can't change your play-styles or tactics as everything is frantic. This may please some but others may be looking for some tactical edge to add to the gameplay. Even in the few modes available; everything plays out essentially the same so there is no real diversity to the matches. 10 years ago this would have been brilliant but I feel people are just looking for that bit extra variation as they approach matches.

There is also a distinct lack of weapons and unlocks which is another critical issue for maintaining long-term interest. You can prestige similar to Call of Duty but there is literally no point as each generation offers nothing new in terms of weapons or customization. By level 45 in 20 hours; I'd pretty much unlocked and seen everything. There is no camo and most challenges you finish which also mimic COD just result in XP earned for leveling which as stated; feels pointless. The matchmaking and wait times are also completely and utterly unacceptable and often infuriating. The lack of players online also makes it difficult to get into matches quickly and efficiently.

Overall Titanfall should have been better. It does not deserve the hype and chances are you will be bored very quickly indeed. The game has some of the best positives ever seen within the genre but lets itself down in key areas which affect long term interest and enjoyment. You can have some fun on the game but in very quick instances. The core concept and lack of depth to the multiplayer leaves this game completely flawed. Even with more layers of unlocks and new modes which are possible in the future; I can't see the waning interest subsiding. The poor matchmaking and diminishing community reflects a lack of interest and at full price, even with a lack of games on the One so far; I'd avoid.

Hype wins. EA wins. Gamers get screwed. Don't fall for it.

I'm usually never that critical of AAA video game titles because, well, I usually don't have a reason to be - inherently, AAA games *should* be outstanding, and most are. Even in the case of Battlefield 5 for PC (a game that was riddled with "game-breaking" bugs throughout it's first months), the good outweighed the bad for me at launch and I've stayed with it through it's various updates and fixes and now enjoy an extremely playable, gorgeous, addicting experience.

All of this said, I'm quite astounded at the issues that plague Titanfall on the Xbox One (and, if forums and the scourge that populates them are to be trusted, the PC). Even more baffling is the fact that most major reviewers are completely ignoring, or omitting, these technical problems in critique. The unstable framerate and surprisingly high amount of screen tearing when firefights get heated is almost inexcusable. Truth be told, it's difficult to praise the extremely competent and enthralling gameplay after a few hours with the product, as the overall experience was marred by significant technical issues. To add insult to injury, Respawn has in the past openly claimed that "framerate is king" and has currently locked the game at 792p to ensure that claim for launch - there is a plan in place to up the resolution, however. Misleading may be an understatement at this point. At times, Titans are not your biggest enemy, but rather the huge dips in framerate - There are frequent moments during which I've been hard-pressed to tell what's going on during a match; no, not because of the blisteringly fast-paced action, but because what's occurring on the battlefield happens faster than the screen refreshes. This is undoubtedly disappointing on all fronts, as Microsoft and Respawn were reportedly doing everything in their collective power to ensure a relatively hiccup-free launch (Microsoft has claimed that the issues with their Live service was not due to Titanfall)

Even with these glaring issues, the control you have of your pilot and Titan feels wickedly smooth, while the combat is deeply rewarding. Furthermore, in no way am I knocking the One or its multiplayer potential - Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is one of the most enjoyable online experiences available, and it just so happens to be current-gen exclusive to the One. Rather, I'm simply proposing a fast fix for Titanfall, as I want to fully enjoy one of the most hyped games (deservedly so) of this generation. I want to experience what Respawn promised - and the potential and groundwork IS there.

In the end, I feel like I'm still standing by for Titanfall.

Entirely disappointing. Gameplay feels a lot like Call of Duty. Mech combat feels a lot like Halo 4. Neither of those is a good thing. Perks and bonuses and burn cards, feels unbalanced right from the start. With no story no sense of accomplishment. Is this all $60 buys you these days. Top notch production values. Like a hollywood star all flash and glitz with no substance.

Titanfall, from what I hear, is a great game. The mechs look cool as hell, the let’s plays and the streams all look like a blast. A place I’d love to be and play. A game I could finally play with my friends on Xbox Live. And if my internet gave out, then maybe single player could carry it. It looks like a contender for GOTY. It looks downright fun. It looks downright fun. And it might be, maybe, I will not know anytime soon. You see, TGAX is bunkered in rural east Texas where the only internet option is HughesNet. Satellite internet is notoriously bad for 2 reasons, download limits and ping times.

    Next Gen Size
The day one update for Titanfall is just shy of 850MB. Which honestly is a great number. It’s a drop in the bucket compared to the numbers Dead Rising 3 has been throwing out for their updates. But 850MB still hurts when your plan is the highest you can get and you’re capped to 20GB during the day and 20GB between 2:00am and 8:00am. Next Gen assumes everyone is on an always on, unlimited, minimum 5mbps down internet connection with below 100ms ping times, and the numbers just do not support this idea.

    Next Gen Speed
The best ping time I have ever tested is 768ms. The worst is 1,083ms. Imagine that for a second in a twitch shooter. Hell, imagine that in Minecraft. That amount of lag is simply incredible, and a spectacle to behold. You run the same five steps for minutes at a time. You kill but it doesn’t count. You get killed and have no idea why. Online gaming with satellite internet is completely unbearable if not impossible. I have no idea why but the only game I’ve tested online that wasn’t horrendous was GTA V. Thankfully, I tried the Titanfall beta before launch. You know that single-player tutorial? Even THAT was a laggy, crap experience.

    Always On
The reasons listed above are a few of the reasons the fan base flipped out when Microsoft stated their new system would require an internet connection at least every 24 hours. This is why Titanfall sucks. I can’t go buy the game and be content with a 10 hour campaign, all the while longing to play the multiplayer everyone is raving about. I, and everyone without a great connection, are excluded from playing the game altogether. It won’t even be sold in South Africa due to these kinds of issues. Titanfall can only be as great as the internet connection you have. Review scores are meaningless unless you have decent internet. I don’t care how many high scores it receives, we can’t recommend a game that not everyone can play in some shape or form.

    Final Tally
We give Titanfall a 1 – Do Not Buy, for its lack of playability for everyone who wants to give their hard earned money to Respawn.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wonderful game, great mix of experiences. As some one who enjoys Hawken and generally most shooter Titan fall hit a sweet spot for me. The vertical aspect of the maps make the playing field feel larger then it is. Wall running and double jumping all while in a fire fight has me on the edge of my seat . If you want fast pace action this game will probably fill that void.

ON a side not I have read a lot of the negative comments. The one that bugs me the most is " lack of single player campaign. If you haven't heard of CS or played battle field before bad company then you don't know some games can fly on just the multiplayer . You don't always need both. Personally bf3 and any cod after 4 didn't need the single player campaign. Also 6v6 this is fine it's well balanced. We can reference CS's 5v5 formula and how it has been working just fine for the last decade. The game may not be for you, but damn if it aint right for me.

Titanfall has brought back some life to the FPS franchise. Where i understand peoples complaints that there is not "offline campaign" they announced that from the start. The reason why I'm giving it an 8 is due to the limited customization. I'll admit it was nice to see full customer characterization in CoD: Ghosts i would of LOVED to see that in Titanfall. Wanting to look like the female sniper but carrying a assault rifle would of been fun but its not a game killer. Frame rate tends to drop in intense combat but I'm not expecting full 60 FPS from something I didn't build with my own two hands like with my PC. The sound effects in the game are marvelous. The detail that the grunts recognize that you're a pilot and talk to you with respect as such is cool to see from an NPC that is just there as fodder. I will say playing as a Titan can get tedious at times. I prefer to play just as a pilot as i personally find it easier to take down other pilots on foot and other titans via rodeo. All in all i feel this game was a lot of fun to play and had minor drawbacks but hey, not every game can be perfect! Ok...maybe dark souls 2... Expand

Microsoft, Respawn, and EA have stepped it up with Titanfall. As they say, believe the hype. If you aren't convinced, check out the live gameplay on twitch.tv.

The game is pure action from start to finish and is very polished. The controls are solid, the combat is fun, the movement is unique. The Titans add a whole new layer of gameplay, going from on foot to inside a titan within seconds changes the dynamic of the battlefield for the player and the opposing team.

Don't believe all of the negative reviews, notice how the ones creating negative reviews have also given every PS4 game a 10/10. It's the anti-Microsoft crowd trying to skew the numbers. There's a reason everyone who's played this game has given it positive reviews - it's just pure FUN. And that's what we want from our games, isn't it?

The fact that franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield have done remarkably well has led the developers to get into a rut. And why wouldn't they? The formula they have works, and by works that means it sells games. However, the downside of that success is a staleness that has crept slowly into the genre and now has a chokehold on all titles that have been recently developed.

I for one was waiting for a breath of fresh air into the FPS space, and thank God on high, Titanfall delivers that. At the end of the day it still is 'run around and shoot people before they shoot you'. However, several key functions of Titanfall make it unlike anything we have recently played and, as a result, make it a total joy to spend time with.

First and foremost, it's the introduction of a vertical space. Oh...you thought I was going to mention the Titans? Well, we'll get there, but they take second seat to the idea that I can't run in an infinite loop around the map looking left, right, and center to find my enemies. I actually have to put my head on a full swivel and understand that death can lurk *anywhere*. The parkour is embedded into the game in such a way that it feels natural and easy to adopt. I find myself looking around for novel ways to get to areas in the game I haven't yet reached, and thankfully can usually find a good route to that end. It does mean I die a lot more now than before (and here I thought that was impossible), but again, it's different. And different is good.

Ok, Titans. Not since Mechwarrior 2 have I had as much fun running around in a metal machine o' death. The Titans have a great 'feel' to them as a whole. They take up space, thereby limiting what portions of the map you can travel. They have weight in that they sound ominous thudding around and don't appear overly nimble. Last but certainly not least, they each carry an arsenal that makes you grin each time you pull the right trigger.

There are many more smaller tweaks that I also appreciate - the burn cards take the place of the various perk systems in other games. I like how they are short-lived advantages (in my case, quite short lived) and limited to just three lives in any given match. They add a tactical decision that you have to make - not only in which to bring with you but also when to use them. It's a layer of depth that other games either do not have at all or haven't developed quite as elegantly. As with other games, the number of unlockables and challenges is staggering, leaving that perpetual carrot on what to work towards next always there for the people who dig that sort of thing.

Is the game perfect? Of course not. People will criticize the resolution, the number of players, the seemingly lack of I in the AI. However, all those little aspects taken together does not detract from one single and immutable fact: The game is fun!

And that, my good people, is enough for this gamer.

The game doesn't work. Plain and simple. If you bought the Xbox One Titanfall bundle with the digital download, then the game will lock up at a certain point in the campaign without fail. No one has found a solution, and the developers have done nothing at all to address it several months after release. If you can't play a game at all, then it's worthless.

Titanfall has no right to be this good. It comes from a team who was originally a Call of Duty machine, it's exclusive to Microsoft platforms which are currently losing the battle for Next Generation dominance, and at it's core, it's a first person shooter trying to blend the fluidity of Call of Duty, traversal of Mirror's Edge, and mech combat of popular franchises such as Armored Core orTitanfall has no right to be this good. It comes from a team who was originally a Call of Duty machine, it's exclusive to Microsoft platforms which are currently losing the battle for Next Generation dominance, and at it's core, it's a first person shooter trying to blend the fluidity of Call of Duty, traversal of Mirror's Edge, and mech combat of popular franchises such as Armored Core or the recently released PC exclusive Hawken. What's so shocking is that Titanfall shouldn't be underestimated as it takes all of these different and strange elements and fuses them into one of the greatest multiplayer experiences ever crafted.

Titanfall's plot isn't going to win any awards for itself. The Campaign mode is presented to the player in a series of pre game exposition shots and dialogue, where as the gameplay is simply a multiplayer match with that very same exposition unfolding in the background. This style of story telling falls mostly flat in the game due to the kinetic and chaos filled gameplay in the forefront. You're already to busy jumping onto Titans, running along walls, and breaking necks to take notice of the character dialogue being shouted at you. What makes this campaign weaker is how it unfolds. The campaign is over within three hours for both sides which allows most players to play it once and never return, but don't think you can just skip it, you're going to need to beat each side at least once if you want to unlock the Stryder and Ogre Titan Chassis.

Another weakness of Titanfall are the graphics. Titanfall runs on a heavily modified Source Engine (Yes, THAT Source Engine) and it shows. On the Xbox One, jaggies are rampant at times, textures are low resolution, and the framerate goes from 60 to 40 when the action heats up. The counter to this is the beautiful art style and map design which stuns you with vibrant colors and metallic buildings. This serves as a viable distraction to the otherwise shoddy looking visuals. It should also be noted that Titanfall runs at aere 792p on the Xbox One, with the potential to possibly be expanded to 900p with FXAA or 1080p with no method of AA at all.

Finally, the gameplay of Titanfall is stunning. Even with a limited number of modes, guns, and options, Titanfall's core gameplay is one of the best around. Do you see a tall building? Run on the side of it. Are you in a battle with an enemy Titan? Boost up to him using your Jump-Kit (which is basically a jet pack), pull off a piece of his armor and open fire on his insides. Have you gotten a lot of points? Standby for Titanfall. You can enjoy the satisfying and gratifying feeling of watching your behemoth Titan crackle through the atmosphere and land in a powerful crush in front of you. It is then that you can hop in and start your own personal reign of destruction. It is all of these parts that make Titanfall so special when they all lock together. The rush of being in your Titan and punching another Titan into the ground only to have to set off a nuclear sized explosion by ejecting and flying thousands of feet into the sky in a pure adrenaline rush and it's an adrenaline rush that no game has ever given you before. When all of these pieces move in a swift motion, Titanfall towers above all of it's competition.

Titanfall may not be perfect, but it is as close as you will get in this day and age. For years, we have been waiting for the "Call of Duty 4" or the "Halo 2" to come and re-revolutionize the first person shooter genre and with Titanfall, we finally see that shot in the arm the genre and the players have been clamoring for. It is with this knowledge that Titanfall receives from me... a 9/10.

The game modes aren't anything revolutionary as they borrow from a lot of the big-named FPS titles before it, but nothing about this game has made me feel like it will be a flash in the pan. Playing with friends is excellent even though it's limited to 6v6. I do sometimes wish there was a 7v7 or 8v8 mix on some maps as there are some bigger environments, but it rarely feels like the action is empty. I personally love the fact that Respawn Entertainment have made this game out to cut as much "lull" as possible so that you always feel like something is going on and you're a part of it. I also love that the developers are very open to the community and are voicing their intentions to add more to the game in the coming months. It seems EA (publisher) has been trigger-happy on releasing their games before they're finished, and while TitanFall is claimed to be an unfinished product by Respawn devs, it certainly plays well. If you're not overwhelmed with the graphics then be patient as there is said to be a patch to address the lower resolution @ launch. But in the end it's not how beautiful the game can be, but how fun it is. For me, I've been waiting to kick Call of Duty to the curb for being stale and gimmicky. The game's emphasis on fun is what makes it prevail so overwhelmingly. The game is just fun. Action is non-stop, but it never feels totally out of your control. It's equally fun in or outside of a titan. I can't recommend it enough.

You can play 2 Campaigns and get 2 bonus Titans from completing both sides (we vs them) and you get major XP. All I can say is it's LOTS OF FUN. I still LOVE BF4 and CoD G and this is great too! I own this for PC. This game is easily the best multiplayer I have played in a long time. The game is so fluid and crisp. Well at least maxed out on 1080p on my PC it is. So much fun and a constant rush. It actually has my attention. It is not just another brain dead shooter. I am writing my review here as well because this seems to be where most people are going for the reviews.

Pure excellence in game form. Multi-player only, but this focus breeds perfection. The campaign/multiplayer mixture is a bit watered down, but overall this is what online shooters are meant to be like. Don't take the zeros as indications that this game is poor, take it as a sign that some "gamers" are a tad jealous it's not multi-platform. If you can, buy this game!

"Standby for Titanfall", three words that you will grow to love! I've played FPS' since Wolfenstein 3D came out (before I was a teenager). That's a lot of hours playing shooters. For a genre that has become increasingly stagnant and commercialized (CoD, Battlefield, Halo) Titanfall is a welcome addition. It doesn't recreate the genre, but it certainly makes it fun again. The gameplay is fast (really fast), and urges you to keep moving and use the verticality of the maps to your advantage - this is not a linear shoot'em up game. The jetpack and wall running make moving around the map advantageous as you try to out maneuver the competition and get the drop on them. The cool down timer for your Titan is chipped away at every time you shoot something - another player, titan, or the minions/spectres that even out the playing field - which means you need to be active to bring your titan into the game quicker. That means less camping and more traditional gun fights like Unreal Tournament or Halo 2. It works well and keeps the pace moving throughout the match. It's more than just 'CoD with Mechs', it's a well thought-out IP that lives up to the hype. Titanfall isn't without its flaws (no private matches, lack of customization, connection issues, no story/campaign), but those can be easily fixed with patches/updates in the near future. The game is impressive and certainly worth getting if you're looking for a departure from the status quo FPS' of the last 10 years or so. This is a must have for any XboxOne owners. Expand

It's important to note that the game has the FASTEST flow on any FPS in recent memory. This makes it so that it's very difficult for anyone to camp or engage in game styles that are considered cheap.

I usually don't like FPS games too much butt his one is fast and exciting. Seems to be enough in-game to play for a while beofre DLC. I haven't had any lag/server issues so far , I own PC version. Good game I recommend.

Aside from a few minor quibbles (I can jump across streets and hop over entire buildings, but a knee-high window ledge is insanely finicky to get past?) Titanfall is undoubtedly a great game which does an exceptional job of breathing new life into an increasingly-stale genre.

An intensely fun multiplayer game that is accessible and fun for everyone. Not perfect, but that's what sequels are for.

A spectacular and superbly crafted, if traditional, shooter. [May 2014, p.71]
