Actual Game play is ridiculously awesome!

The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because of the match making and menu stuff is a bit weird. I'm not even sure if I can play with my buddies or not.

After a month of the game I can say this game is AMAZING,the innovating mixture of wall-running and giant mechs fuse together as if made by the perfect game designer. There is not a single map that is lack-luster,all guns are balanced if skilled enough. The only problem I have is the limited story it gives you that I hope is addressed in the sequel.

First of all, scoring this down for not having single player? you all knew this before buying the game

On to the game, it's great! Easy to get into. guys that are level 50 aren't over powered, you can unlock cool stuff but aren't at too much of a disadvantage if you are a lower level. Even getting beat in a game you will still level up at a decent pace. best game I've played with

I will concede that the "campaign" was fairly pointless, but a good exercise to get you through some of the maps.

    nice balance of weapons/abilities.

I first bought this on PC and thought it looked great, but I was consumed with BF4 on the PC at the time. I didn't buy this on the Xbox One until a year after it came out. The deluxe edition - comes with all of the DLC - went on sale on Games with Gold for just over $13! I picked it up because I wanted to compare it to the PC edition..

The deluxe edition - comes with all of the DLC - went on sale on Games with Gold for just over $13! I picked it up because I wanted to compare it to the PC edition..

There are plenty of maps and quite a few game modes are available. I primarily play a mode called variety pack by which the game modes rotate through all of the maps. For the most part, the maps are not made for campers so you have to watch in many directions no matter where you are on the map (it's best to just keep moving; stick and move).

Though the frame rate and resolution are lower than on the PC, the graphical details on the Xbox One edition are comparable to a high-end PC setup. The surround sound on my surround sound setup is pretty amazing.

The game is just plain fun. Even noobs can contribute to their team's cause by going after the AI enemies. There is an auto-aiming smart pistol many will complain about, but I think it is a good equalizer for new players as it allows fast lock-ons to AI, but slow lock-ons to other players. When going head to head with another player of any skill, the smart pistol will more than not lose to a player using a manual-aim weapon as the lock-on is that slow with other players when using the smart pistol (unless the other player is completely unaware of the the one with the smart pistol).

I've found the matchmaking in this game to be quite good by which if one team dominates in a particular round, the next round will see a good shuffling of the players.

From a first-person shooter standpoint, I've found nothing better on any console and I've owned them all at some point. The mechanics are great. The variety of ways to eliminate an enemy are comparable to most shooters. Hopping into a titan and wreaking havoc over the map is pretty cool. The visual and sound effects are great.

While the PC version is in fact visually better, it's much harder to find matches online due to lack of interest on that platform. It's also nice to kick back in a recliner as opposed to a computer chair knowing you'll find any type of match virtually any time of day on the Xbox One. This is hands down the best first-person shooter game I've played on a next-gen console.

As an off shoot from COD, thos is a far, far better game than it. The wall runs take skill, and reward you with good map positioning, the maps are large enough hat surprising someone is always an option. The titans dont add much, but, a little bit of newb slaying is hardly ever a bad thing. Really, shows all the recent COD installments to be the joke that they are, this is a far better game

Parkour can be a bit awkward at times but with practice it makes getting from point A to B very fun. Unfortunately because the game was ported to last-gen consoles the graphics have suffered a bit.

I would give the game a 10 because even though the game is almost perfect for me, I still wish there was a real campaign mode instead of having the story integrated into multiplayer matches. it makes it difficult to understand what the story even is since I'm paying more attention to the match. Getting into matches took almost 5 minutes when I was new to the game but since the finding a match is a lot quicker.

9, would've been a ten if there was a better variety of guns, I like the maps and the multi layered levels that infuse ground and titan warfare into a totally lovable game, one other downside is it's lack of game modes. Add in a spec ops or something quirky and off beat and this game would be a sure ten out of ten

Titanfall is one of the most fun games I have ever played. It gives such a good feel to the first person shooter type. It's movement is natural and has accurate movements. Yes there aren't many guns or titans, but for what it has, it's amazing. The only complaint I have about this game is the lack of a campaign. I feel that the game could have easily made a very good campaign.

In my opinion, Titanfall does fluidity amazingly that you can go from being on the rooftop one minute and the next in a big ass robot kicking the therefore mentioned ass is quick and just pleasant to see. Titanfall is a very fun game to play for a game that is a FPS which personally I find is a genre which I generally can’t get in to. On the other hand, Titanfall lacks enough customization you can choose a small handful of weapons which do vary rather well but you can’t do anything to visually change how your titan looks (the day I am aloud a pink titan is the day I will be happy) or your Pilot (human). But, overall Titanfall is a great game load of fun, very fluid combat and free running but needs a more in-depth customization.

First of all, the graphics of this game are not the ugly, they are functional. Textures are ugly in some parts and nice in others, so call it an even.

Gameplay is outstanding, the coolest thing is that the map is huge, and instead of playing 6x6, bots are added to make you feel in a war. Much better than CoD ghost, where the maps are huge and also empty.

It's funnier than any other shooter.

    Worth every penny.

Titanfall is really fun, it gives you a lot to play with, many different ways to win/triumph and losing is dominated by the feeling of enjoyment borne from running and jumping.

It steals good COD ideas such as ranking/improvements for playing, has something called burn cards which improve your character for one 'life', focuses on playing for progression, for example there's a black market for burn cards, it lets you play with friends for fun and allows every type of player to improve without always being at the mercy of the better gamer.
It's an FPS with a rocket up its behind, no bad thing. It always delivers a frantic, fast paced experience if you want it, or you can sit back and play out the field, picking off campers as they find high spots.
It also has computer AI in game which at first feels wrong but as you play it you realise their addition cements over the cracks of not enough players, larger maps, frantic gameplay and the better player.
You even get a chance to play on for a minute or two after your team loses/wins, an interesting concept indeed,

If you stick with it for a bit you will find enjoyment and come back for more, it can be picked up and played when you have a spare 10 minutes or you can play how you like and concentrate on that with ease.
I can't fault it too much as an online game, it does exactly what it should but it's not for everyone because of its online need. It needs to be cheaper to be fully appreciated, it's not going to be worth more than £20, and that's generous, but if you grab it for under £15 you can be sure that it's going to please on some level.

An FPS with a dash of parkour, a smidgen of boss beating and tactical variation; if you want to play a game and have a bit of a riot you're not going to be disappointed.
Apparently buying maps can limit your chance of finding a game so keep that in mind, or research it further, but if you find a copy for less than £15 it's worth your time and effort, if people keep playing it it'll be a game worth visiting for a year or two to come.

The shooting mechanics are fast and responsive just what you want from a fast paced shooter. "The Titans" as their called are an innovative and entertaining way to keep the genre fresh and break up some of the normal shooting elements, Titan battles are very strategic it isn't just about firing every little bit of ammo you have because there are various defence mechanisms that each Titan has to avoid as much damage as possible. I am ok with the amount of modes available because I only play about 4 that are available anyway because some modes I feel have just been thrown in their for added value and are not suited to the overall gameplay. My gripes with the game are the lack of maps and customisation available for each pilot, they have released more maps in the form of dlc which is disappointing but developers have been doing this for years and it shouldn't be frowned upon just because EA are doing it. I think there is enough content here to satisfy you, it has kept me busy for a few months and that is more than enough for me. The ONLY reason it does not get a 10 is because it has a very poorly executed campaign mode (various multiplayer modes with a boring dialogue) and only has one (extremely fun) co-op mode.

There are plenty of modes to choose from, but my favorites are Attrition (team deathmatch) and capture the flag. The game has two problems though. The first is that in every match, along with the human players there are AI players, which are very easy to kill and are kind of annoying. I would prefer an entirely human lobby. The fact that franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield have done remarkably well has led the developers to get into a rut. And why wouldn't they? The formula they have works, and by works that means it sells games. However, the downside of that success is a staleness that has crept slowly into the genre and now has a chokehold on all titles that have been recently developed.

I for one was waiting for a breath of fresh air into the FPS space, and thank God on high, Titanfall delivers that. At the end of the day it still is 'run around and shoot people before they shoot you'. However, several key functions of Titanfall make it unlike anything we have recently played and, as a result, make it a total joy to spend time with.

First and foremost, it's the introduction of a vertical space. Oh...you thought I was going to mention the Titans? Well, we'll get there, but they take second seat to the idea that I can't run in an infinite loop around the map looking left, right, and center to find my enemies. I actually have to put my head on a full swivel and understand that death can lurk *anywhere*. The parkour is embedded into the game in such a way that it feels natural and easy to adopt. I find myself looking around for novel ways to get to areas in the game I haven't yet reached, and thankfully can usually find a good route to that end. It does mean I die a lot more now than before (and here I thought that was impossible), but again, it's different. And different is good.

Ok, Titans. Not since Mechwarrior 2 have I had as much fun running around in a metal machine o' death. The Titans have a great 'feel' to them as a whole. They take up space, thereby limiting what portions of the map you can travel. They have weight in that they sound ominous thudding around and don't appear overly nimble. Last but certainly not least, they each carry an arsenal that makes you grin each time you pull the right trigger.

There are many more smaller tweaks that I also appreciate - the burn cards take the place of the various perk systems in other games. I like how they are short-lived advantages (in my case, quite short lived) and limited to just three lives in any given match. They add a tactical decision that you have to make - not only in which to bring with you but also when to use them. It's a layer of depth that other games either do not have at all or haven't developed quite as elegantly. As with other games, the number of unlockables and challenges is staggering, leaving that perpetual carrot on what to work towards next always there for the people who dig that sort of thing.

Is the game perfect? Of course not. People will criticize the resolution, the number of players, the seemingly lack of I in the AI. However, all those little aspects taken together does not detract from one single and immutable fact: The game is fun!

And that, my good people, is enough for this gamer.

Gaming fanboys are tough to tolerate, but Sony one's consistently seem to be the worst. I am going to give it an honest score of an 8 because I won't resort to the same pitiful point fixing just to try and correct it. It is fun and a great multiplayer experience with plenty of new ideas on the genre to kick off the next generation. However, if you have never liked competitive multiplayer shooters, in all likelyhood you will want to give it a pass. The game for me was a dopamine rush. It gets fast paced and exciting like no other game I have played. Now for the downfall. The gameplay is one of the best ive ever seen, however it drys out on you after a while. Every game can dry out on you after a while but Titanfall felt like it dried, not quick, but moderately. I think this is partly due to the lack of content in this game. It gives you only one game mode to play and that is online against other players. I mean wheres the single player campaign, the co-op, not too mention the multiplayer campaign is not captivating or worth paying attention to. They have introduced this revolutionary gameplay yet it lacks content and its hard to justify the price tag on this game. My final thoughts. Titanfall definitely has a revolutionary gameplay and gamers that are wiling to be creative with the gameplay will thrive in this game. However, its lacking content in a single player campaign, co-op, etc.

They have released a survival mode update for Titanfall and it is decent. Going back to my thoughts earlier in this review, this survival mode should of been here since day one.

After seeing some reviews it made it seem as if this game was a rush-job cashing in on the "CoD developer" hype. Whilst I can agree with the criticisms levelled at it, I cannot ignore the sublime gameplay Titanfall offers. Yes, it is multiplayer only (and no, you can't have bots). Yes, the campaign is completely pointless. By that I mean there is no explanation of the story that's interesting or deep enough to care, and since it's a multiplayer-only game, you will join campaign levels in an arbitrary order and have no clue as to which side is which in terms of the story. Really, it's pretending to have a campaign but it doesn't. But then again, why would anyone buy a multiplayer-only shooter for the "campaign"? The gameplay is not different to the rest of the game, so nothing added other than pointless dialogue.

Onto the gameplay then. What strikes me about it at first is the pacing. Inheriting from Call of Duty's legendary controls for which all console shooters aspire to be (in terms of fluency, intuitiveness and smoothness and ease of use), the game feels incredibly agile. The parkour mechanics are, without joke, the best I've ever come across. Wallrunning can go on for very long and speeds up movement, you can chain wallruns infinitely, you can double-jump, and wallrunning resets your double jump. So really it's (one of) the fastest moving FPS around. It's not just CoD with wallrunning - it feels even better than that. The titans also feel fairly agile and control intuitively. At first I disliked the idea of titans but they really make the game what it is. They're not overpowered, they're not easy to take out and you almost have to purposely stand in front of them to be killed by them as a pilot. AI controlled "auto-titans" can be useful for defending but obviously not as good as being piloted. The titans don't feel like tanks on legs - that's for sure. They have a unique presence but they don't feel overpowered or out of place.

Given that the season pass is now free, I found that the quantity and quality of maps is amazing. The maps are really well-designed and each one feels different. They are well-suited to objective play and accommodate Titans and the parkour mechanics. Speaking of which, there is a decent selection of game modes - TDM, Domination, Last Titan Standing, CTF, Marked for Death and some other variants on these. This is a game where every game mode is exciting and fun to play. The combination of map design, Titans, controls and pacing make these really intense and action-packed.

Then there is create-a-class. This is where you can tell it was made by same developers as Call of Duty 4. There aren't a bajillion weapons with hundreds of attachments or skins. No, a small selection of weapons (which are actually different), only a few attachments (which are unlocked by doing challenges), 5 custom slots and 2 custom slots for each game mode. You can customise both Titans and Pilots, but it's not a mess like modern CoD - you pick the ordnance (grenade), tactical ability (e.g. cloak or temporary speed boost), perk 1, perk 2, primary weapon, secondary weapon. There are only 3 secondary weapons - all of which are pistol for different ranges. That's it - no attachments, no SMGs as secondary or anything like that. Simple, easy, balanced. No weapon feels useless, underpowered or overpowered. The smart pistol received a lot of complaints but they are misguided - it is by far the least effective weapon in the game unless you are very stealthy. It has short range and takes a relatively long time to lock on. Overall there is good variety in create-a-class but not overly cluttered. The anti-titan weapons and the Titan create-a-class are particularly commendable for their variety.

One of the things that makes Titanfall so action-packed is the minions. These are AI-controlled solider which are weak and dumb but there are quite a lot of them for both teams and they spawn infinitely. The make the maps feel more alive like a battlefield and provide easy kills and actually help you do objectives. They typically battle amongst themselves but their presence adds to the action. Even if you don't see many human players you will see plenty of minions so no shortage of action. This leads to another thing about Titanfall - it is never frustrating. No matter how bad you do, you never feel angry.

To conclude, Titanfall is absolutely an epic shooter. Questions will inevitably arise as to whether a triple-A title can get by on multiplayer alone, but to be honest, I don't think it's a problem. Despite Call of Duty 4's incredible single player, it received little attention from players - most of whom probably never even touched the campaign! Titanfall is overall a very original shooter. It is fair, fun and by far the best-looking Source engine game to date. I have very little to complain about on this title.

The game does however have a bit of a lack of content. There aren't very many guns and many of them aren't worth using. Semi autos go mostly unused because the speed of the game makes them difficult to use. The burst fire gun falls under the same level. It's not that they are bad guns, just not good for the speed of the game. I would also like to see more game modes. A king of the hill mode would work, or a game mode like team defender from CoD with the movement system could be fun. I know some of these game modes wouldn't be highly played but still fun.
Over all a good game, but I think a little more variety would make it more interesting over time.

6v6 in the beta seemed like a good balance but in the full version we could have done with at least 8v8. The minions are no use what so ever. The AI could have been turned up so they became more of a threat. The Titan on Titan battles are excellent and probably the most fun I've had in the game so far.

A point that ruins the game for me sometimes is the terrible frame rate when there is a lot going on. It must drop to 5 or 10 FPS at points.

On the positive side, the game is a sooo much fun. The maps are varied and very well designed and the weapons, burn cards and upgrades are spot on. I've not had this much fun in a shooter for a very long time and Titanfall makes COD, BF4 and Killzone look like the embarrasing 50 year old uncle who turns up at your 18th birthday party in jeans and a hoodie.

Buy it because it's the best Xbox One game, or Next Gen game out there at the moment but don't expect it to be perfect.

Because Titanfall is only an online game, obviously that factor is very important to the overall presentation of the finished product and the quality it shows. So far, a little over a month in, I’ve been impressed by how it has held up and how well the server has done despite a few crashes and notable glitches in need of fixing. Respawn has thus far handily addressed most issues as of now and I can only imagine this will motivate other players to join the ongoing battle and cash in to buy the pretty good quality of game they’ve released. It’s been a massive risk to create such an online reliant product of a game, yet it has worked thus far and seems to be ready to for the foreseeable future. It’s good to finally see something equal parts unique and familiar on the market without an all too overbearing series name to put behind the tagline. Entertaining, quality, and new.

Concept: Titans and pilots alike battle it out over large scale maps that push equal parts vertical assault and expansive land battles, testing your wits and your ability to think fast and on your feet as you run through chaotic attacks.

Graphics: Especially for a multiplayer only title, the graphics look crisp and framerates run pretty well across all consoles (next gen and current). Sure, there are noticeable differences, yet they do not detract from the experience as a whole.

Sound: The voice work, where it is found, is professional and spot on in the moments. The ambiance is also excellently sounded out and soundtrack of accompanying noises of battle work fantastically as well.

Playability: The amount of control given to players is astounding and the fact that there are so many things to do and yet the controls still feel tight and not sloppily packed together is pretty amazing. Each button does a specific or even multiple tasks, and works well.

Entertainment: Definitely an entertaining experience on the whole, and a fun evolution of multiplayer combat- however slowly it may be reversing the directions we’ve had to constantly travel with well-known series.

    Replay Value: High.

    Overall Score: 8.75

Single Player should't be focused on, it's a fresh idea a campaign in Online, but the problem is that you can focus on the Campaign because you are more focused not to lose to the other team, you don't really listen to the dialogue and the small cut-scenes (up in the right corner)

The game is cool, and doesn't deserve below 6. It's fast paced and you are entertained.

The last thing I found annoying is that you found more BOTS than players in this game, it can be frustrating sometimes, but worth the price and I recommend the game, just hope they will add new weapons in the future, or this game can die quickly.

Initially a fun game but unfortunately becomes boring very quickly. The game lacks any depth and matches play out the same each time. The lack of single player is frustrating and further hamper the longevity of the game. Initially was happy with the game within 2 weeks have moved on to more exciting games.

The gameplay is excellent and is a huge refresher to the old corridor shooters

The game, while fun to play, has very VERY little content. With only a handfull of maps and 5 gamemodes, this game has little to offer in terms of variety. The gameplay is the only thing that manages to spice up the experience. While the level design is excellent, there just aren't enough levels for me to enjoy.

When you play a round of Titanfall and employ good strategy and tactics against a team who also does the same, the game shines. The vertical component to the maps and their overall design are virtually perfect. I suspect that most of the nimrods who think this game sucks are either a.) Anti-Infiniti-Ward and Anti-EA asses who don't even own the game. b.) Horribly poor players who can't enjoy it because they are horribly poor players. c.) People who don't know a good game if it came up and bit them on the gooch. I'm giving it an 8 simply because it could have looked better on console and I'll admit that the A.I. units are sluggish. Respawns CoD roots show plainly throughout this game with great controls that should immediately be familiar to any call of duty player. Weapon Balance is great and even as a pilot against a titan you never feel at a huge disadvantage. If there is a disadvantage it is when you are in the saddle as you are the biggest target in the area. Unfortunately there are some downsides to this game first off the campaign, while i applaud respawn for their attempt at multiplayer only they shouldn't have even bothered with the "campaign" mode is uninspired and the only reason it is even played is to unlock chassis. Secondly, for a game that is multiplayer only you would have expected more modes instead we get capture the flag, Team Death-match, a king of the hill type mode and one other that are best described as a riff on survivor from the last of us. Hopefully respawn will address this in future updates. In closing if you are looking for a fast paced multiplayer shooter look no farther as far as a Console seller killer app while close it looks like Microsoft will keep treading water until halo finally arrives. The game is very well balanced. As a pilot I never felt like titans posed so much of a threat as to make them unbalanced. I was skeptical of the AI aka cannon fodder at first but after a while I came to appreciate them. They provide a distraction from the pvp action and give new players and those more seasoned the ability to gain kills and rank up fairly evenly. I'm not saying that same someone who plays the game 24 hours a day wont come out on top, but new players can still feel like they are contributing. The lack of a dedicated singleplayer/campaign mode was frustrating as I believe there is enough material within the titanfall universe to flesh out a unique and rewarding single player experience. The controls are sharp, the action is fast paced and if you want a game that takes from the familiar and also provides a fresh experience...prepare for titanfall. Expand

I give it an 8/10 - It's fun, well balanced, and you can easily loose dozens of hours. However it's overpriced with only 5 game types and no single player. You'll have a blast for a dozen hours or so, then the repetitive nature will keep this is a "side game" for you to play while you enjoy other stuff releasing this year.

Also as a side note, I would not advise buying the XB1 for this game. It's not graphically powerful, and the requirements needed on a PC are quite low. Even if you don't have a decent PC, you'd probably have just as much fun on the 360 with this game as you would on XB1.

Wanting to look like the female sniper but carrying a assault rifle would of been fun but its not a game killer. Frame rate tends to drop in intense combat but I'm not expecting full 60 FPS from something I didn't build with my own two hands like with my PC. The sound effects in the game are marvelous. The detail that the grunts recognize that you're a pilot and talk to you with respect as such is cool to see from an NPC that is just there as fodder. I will say playing as a Titan can get tedious at times. I prefer to play just as a pilot as i personally find it easier to take down other pilots on foot and other titans via rodeo. I'm usually never that critical of AAA video game titles because, well, I usually don't have a reason to be - inherently, AAA games *should* be outstanding, and most are. Even in the case of Battlefield 5 for PC (a game that was riddled with "game-breaking" bugs throughout it's first months), the good outweighed the bad for me at launch and I've stayed with it through it's various updatesI'm usually never that critical of AAA video game titles because, well, I usually don't have a reason to be - inherently, AAA games *should* be outstanding, and most are. Even in the case of Battlefield 5 for PC (a game that was riddled with "game-breaking" bugs throughout it's first months), the good outweighed the bad for me at launch and I've stayed with it through it's various updates and fixes and now enjoy an extremely playable, gorgeous, addicting experience.

All of this said, I'm quite astounded at the issues that plague Titanfall on the Xbox One (and, if forums and the scourge that populates them are to be trusted, the PC). Even more baffling is the fact that most major reviewers are completely ignoring, or omitting, these technical problems in critique. The unstable framerate and surprisingly high amount of screen tearing when firefights get heated is almost inexcusable. Truth be told, it's difficult to praise the extremely competent and enthralling gameplay after a few hours with the product, as the overall experience was marred by significant technical issues. To add insult to injury, Respawn has in the past openly claimed that "framerate is king" and has currently locked the game at 792p to ensure that claim for launch - there is a plan in place to up the resolution, however. Misleading may be an understatement at this point. At times, Titans are not your biggest enemy, but rather the huge dips in framerate - There are frequent moments during which I've been hard-pressed to tell what's going on during a match; no, not because of the blisteringly fast-paced action, but because what's occurring on the battlefield happens faster than the screen refreshes. This is undoubtedly disappointing on all fronts, as Microsoft and Respawn were reportedly doing everything in their collective power to ensure a relatively hiccup-free launch (Microsoft has claimed that the issues with their Live service was not due to Titanfall)

Even with these glaring issues, the control you have of your pilot and Titan feels wickedly smooth, while the combat is deeply rewarding. Furthermore, in no way am I knocking the One or its multiplayer potential - Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is one of the most enjoyable online experiences available, and it just so happens to be current-gen exclusive to the One. Rather, I'm simply proposing a fast fix for Titanfall, as I want to fully enjoy one of the most hyped games (deservedly so) of this generation. I want to experience what Respawn promised - and the potential and groundwork IS there.

In the end, I feel like I'm still standing by for Titanfall.

Now, onto the game itself, the gameplay and why it does not merit a 9 or 10.

    * First off, the graphics. They are decent, nothing mind blowing, but decent.
The game looks slightly better than last gen (ps3/x360), but nothing mind blowing. Just better textures, more particle effects and perhaps better lighting. A solid 8 there for effort... at least compared to contemporary games. There are better looking games, I wont lie. However, this is not an eyesore and for what its meant to do, it looks great.

    * Gameplay: As I said before, it is fun. Granted this is subject to taste and opinion. However, for me, it rates a solid 8.5 or 9 in fun factor. Higher with friends, lower with random tards.
The controls are responsive, the game seems well balanced so far.
The only thing I would have added is a bit of environmental destruction.. not much but more than the current level of windows. Its hard to watch a titan blasting at a pilot hiding in a window and not see ANY form of destruction taking place.

    * Online play: Well, its all online. As I said its fun, flows well, seems fairly lag free so far, so good work. They missed a few key features, such as letting you join with more than 6 people or map voting.

    * Innovation: Well...its not the cure for cancer, nor is it anything that has not really been done before in some part elsewhere. However, it is the first time these elements have been combined into a well balanced package that qualifies as something fun to do.

    * Single player/offline mode.... wait there is not one! So if you have slow internet speeds, flaky internet, or live in a region with no local servers (Australia, I am looking your way), then you will be sucking wind. The game is simply not playable offline. At the very least they could have offered a 2x2 local play split screen mode or even a 4v4 local network play as halo did years ago.
It worries me a little that my purchase may be worthless in the event of a net outage or loss of support from the dev which will come some day.
At the very least they need to offer the option for private servers so that someday, when they discontinue support, this game will still be playable for those who still want to enjoy their purchase.

All in all, its a fun game. If you enjoy FPS type games, give this a try.

I could not tell you one thing that happened in the campaign besides that some dude died and I don't even know who nor did I or anyone care. One thing that concerned me with the beta that they seem to have adjusted was the titan vs pilot balance, you can kill titans on foot pretty easily... not very easily by any stretch but it seems a little easier than in the betas and you can survive (sometimes) a run-in with a titan. Someone else brought up a point about liking the pilot game better than using the titans and there are some maps where I agree with that, and often times i use my titan to defend me or to run in and try and nuclear eject and kill a couple titans and people. But at the same time that is why I like this game more than I expected to, on the surface it seems like a run around and shoot senselessly but there is actually a lot of strategy involved with the burn cards, titans, and everything really. There are times I leave my titan waiting to drop for 5 minutes, times I drop it right away, times I use certain burn cards (the endless grenade ones are the best by far IMO). The game is fun, I don't care about things like "Screen tearing" or "frame-rate dropping" or any of that technical crap. The game looks great, plays great, and hopefully will stay that way. I hope they add more add-ons, weapons, and burn cards... its doubtful but with an MP only game hopefully they do. One gripe is that I feel at times some rounds are too short, this is mostly in attrition (which is most of the campaign so you wait for 2-3 minutes between the lobby and the intro crap to play and the game ends in 5 mins) it seems but if you play pilot hunter it goes much longer. This game does feel different, and its fast paced and hard to put down and it's original... I would highly recommend, I am concerned for the long term life of it as I've seen mentioned but I think its worth a purchase and I will have faith that they will update it often Expand

But the game is still tons of fun to play, especially with friends, and if youre looking for super fast paced AND FAIR (thanks to the beauty of the source engine) action, i would say you should definitely buy titanfall. Hopefully the second installment has more to offer, but its still an awesome game. Expand

The Variety of Bungie's Halo, The Quality of Crysis, and the Popularity of Call of Duty, what more could you ask for? At times, getting one-shot can be annoying, but the balancing of the weapons makes the game feel more like Cry-field. Definitely a must have

A game with great scenarios and nice playability. The multiplayer is innovative and the maps are well constructed. Maybe the biggest cons have been the inexistence of a single player campaign and the limitation to personalize your character. In resume, worth it.

I'll start out by saying that I really REALLY don't enjoy playing COD online. All the perks and unlocks just favour those who are able to spend all day and night on the game. Yes you can get your prestige, sorry I mean "generation" up as high as you like.. but the basic gear is all so well balanced that even a newbie on rank 1 can hand you a smack down. The titans too are great for this.. EVERYONE gets a go, no camping a spawn point to get a killstreak here.. just play the game and you get a massive toy to play with.

For me there is no comparison, Titanfall is the best multiplayer FPS I've played since the original counterstrike 1.6. Ok so the modes are a bit limited but that doesn't bother me at all as I find a lot of games have hardly anyone playing most modes, all it does is split the player base up further.

I do miss the world building provided by single player as its a great universe with a lot of potential, but given the terrible single player modes of all the recent COD / BFs I'm quite happy to go elsewhere for that.

I was disappointed that the recent patch reduced XP gain from actually following objectives.. this was a great plus for me as it gave players an incentive to actually try and defend a hardpoint or capture a flag rather than just kill stuff. I'm hopeful they will revert at least some of this change.

I know player numbers were also looked down on but I find that 6v6 is a really good balancing point. I'll agree the AI is a bit dozy at times but even that has its good points as the AI soldiers really make you feel part of a bigger battle.

Overall I'm happy to say that Titanfall is a great game, I'm actually looking forward to the DLC for a change but will wait on a season pass till I see the quality of the content (Dead Rising 3, I'm looking at you here!!)

On a 100-point scale this game gets an 87. Plot is a little weak, as is campaign mode (unlike Halo, which crafted an involved universe), so I gave it a 13-point reduction. I play on PC with a very capable rig (yes, its an overclocked 6-core 1055t with a 750 GTX card...runs it on Ultra at around 55 FPS) and I have no complaints about the graphics--smooth as butter on my system. The gameplay is a mix of Mirror's Edge, Halo and Hawken, three games very close to my heart. Gameplay is fun, but the game in its current stage can be repetitive. I have purchased the season pass for an extra 20-spot so I am looking forward to some extensive DLC in the future. For right now, this definitely hits my sweet spot...although if you really want a "mech shooter" experience go with Hawken (it's better for that type of thing than Titanfall, and its currently F2P!). When it's all said and done I can't give this game more than an 8. The game is fun. The flight/thrust suit and the addition of mechs (titans) adds a new twist to multiplayer. I do wish you could jump on top of buildings with your titan, but that's not a big deal. Controls are tight, and responsive. If your a fan of Call of Duty you will like this game. There are a lot of Call of Duty...esque features when it comes to multiplayer. Challenges, loadouts, unlocking weapons/perks at certain levels, and of course prestige leveling. All fun things to do, but honestly......I'm tired of it. Should these things have been left out? Of course not! I just would have liked to see some more originality. Other than that multiplayer is FUN! However the biggest reason I marked this game down was because of the absence of a real single player campaign. After playing through both sides I still have no idea what is going on, and I could care less about either faction. That in my opinion is a complete failure.....how can you expect people to latch onto or care about this new universe/franchise when we have absolutely no clue what's going on! Just throwing in cool robots isn't enough....there needs to be a history if you want to captivate people and get them invested. If you like multiplayer you will like this game. However if your looking for a solid story/campaign you will be severely disappointed! Expand

Long time gamer review of Titanfall. (I come from Atari, Nintendo, PC pre VGA, PC post VGA, SNES, Sega, Sega CD, 3DO, N64, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox360, and now Xbox One. I enjoy every single type of game released on these platforms, a good game is a good game. Some genres I enjoy more than others, but I am your average, but well versed, all around gamer).

I enjoy every single type of game released on these platforms, a good game is a good game. Some genres I enjoy more than others, but I am your average, but well versed, all around gamer).

This game is great! But there are some real solid reasons why it is not a 10 non of which have anything to do with game play. If I were an investor I would be drooling over the potential this has of being the next big "Call of Duty" type franchise. Yes I am aware of who helped develop this title, but don't let that fool you. I'm an optimist at my core but let's be real, there is no shortage of hype around this title so I will save what you already know until the end. The bad: For me, it's all been visual based. I find the levels cool but there are some recylcled visual elements from COD Black Ops 2 that I could quickly pick out which to me reduces the value of a game. DEVELOPERS when you recycle, just mod the item so I cannot recognize it or think I've seen it somewhere else. It's kind of like securing the body of a car to the frame with string or duct tape, it looks cheap and it pisses off gamers. Also, the levels themselves seem very similar, so much that I get them mixed up even after a solid 2 days of play time. More could have been done to make this a more visually stunning game. If the game weren't a ton of fun, unique, and so easy to adapt to I would have rated it less. But as a fairly big fan of COD since COD 4, dissapointed with the re-packaging and overpricing of COD ( a successful format that I believe has truly lead to the decline in the overall quality and risk taking in gaming ) this one truly fills the void. I love that you can crush, smash, stomp, and throw your enemies from a Titan, with gore! However I would have loved to see more reactive impacts (bullet holes, inflicted damage, realism), basically a greater visual realism for a fantasy game. Some may complain about the simplicity of the weapon loadouts and features but I argue in a new release this is a strength. It's not like it's another modern or recent past FPS game that is looking to compete with COD and needs to reinvent the wheel and format. We have a solid format with a fairly unique game. So I agree (if this is the strategy) with not making it too complex. There is so much to learn about the game, game play, and bad ass features that it is nice being able to jump in to an easily adaptable and simple control. Believe me, many games have mad controls over complex to add challenge. I find that format only adds frustration. It is a breath of fresh air not having to learn new controls and being able to adapt, excel, and enjoy this awesome FPS! I've hear references to this game becomming boring. I just completed my 2nd prestige and going. I enjoy it so much I have not even turned on my COD Ghosts to see the new maps and it's what 2 weeks later? Also only on my 2nd prestige with COD Ghosts, where as this time last year I had already 10th prestige...

Ok, so let's start off like this. EA sucks. EA is probably the WORST company in existence, but Titanfall is an incredibly good game. It is fun, addictive and it never gets old. Incredible multi-player functionality however there is one minor drawback that developers seemed to have failed foreseeing. There is no such thing as a casual gaming experience when the only enemies you are allowed to face are real time players through Xbox Gold...
The pace set by this type game play is much faster and more arduous then a standard Player vs CPU campaign.
    In my opinion

I really like Titanfall. I can't give it a higher score because it doesn't have a campaign, and that makes me feel cheated to a certain extent, but it does multiplayer very well. It brings freshness to the FPS with unique features like the titans and wall-climbing. It's fast, smooth, and just lots of fun. I wish the graphics were more next-gen, but they're still good. Titanfall delivered what it said it would, a new and unique online multiplayer experience. The Campaign sucks, because you're too focused on staying alive as the campaign quietly goes off in the background. Titanfall is easy and fun to play on multiplayer. But 60 bucks for a "fun" multiplayer is too much. Definitely a good sales buy.

Aside from a few minor quibbles (I can jump across streets and hop over entire buildings, but a knee-high window ledge is insanely finicky to get past?) Titanfall is undoubtedly a great game which does an exceptional job of breathing new life into an increasingly-stale genre.
