Despite this game lacking a true single player campaign, the multiplayer is where it shines. The dedicated servers work flawlessly putting you in game within seconds. The weapon variety is scarce but sets up for an improved sequel with more customization characters and weapons.

The game is beautiful and runs great. Don't let the "0" ratings scare you away.

EA thieves. They are divided into two the game, to charge around 120 euros. battlefront 2 was more complete and more entertaining. I'm sorry. You betrayed the name battlefront.

I was not going to buy this game because to me it almost looked like Titanfall, which I very quickly got bored of. But I bought it only because my friends were getting it so I figured it actually might be fun since I will have buddies to play with.
So far I have around 10 hour experience with it so you can trust my judgement or not. So, to begin with, I'll admit that the game is cool, but

So far I have around 10 hour experience with it so you can trust my judgement or not. So, to begin with, I'll admit that the game is cool, but thats about it. It has great graphics, fun gameplay, and very little content. I always love to play story modes... not in this game. There are very few maps, very few weapons, very few heroes/villains (only 6). So i pretty much just started playing the game but I'm already starting to get bored of it. While i thought this game cant be worse than Titanfall, I'd like to say that it actually is. Titanfall in my taste had too little content but Battlefront is just way too minimal. It's a cool experience, like I said before, but not worth the money for sure. I'd rather recommend you going to these gamecenters where u play all day for some $$$, choose x1 and have fun with Battlefront for one day, and after that you can put a nice green check next to that title

Not really sure how this game has unfavorable reviews, when I absolute love this game. Don't get me wrong, the single player could be made better. Like, if they let you make your own matches. The multiplayer, that is so fun. The gameplay and graphics are amazing. Truly a masterpiece!

I was going to buy this game however after playing it at a friends house and seeing how very little content there is I'm not going to. I mean the game-play is fun for each time you try 1 of the 4 main maps but after you're bored with this there isn't anything to do. The single-player consists of a wave based shooter which isn't a game-mode at all.

I have never been so disappointed with a game in my life. I should have known, typical EA.

I'm glad I managed to play on the full game before buying as I would have got the season pass bundle confident in it being the best game of the year because of how awesome the battlefront series is! This is certainly not battlefront at all

I've dodged an expensive bullet here, I recommend you do the same

    "The EA Strikes Again"

Another example of a big name company building a fantastic platform then stripping the final product down to bare bones so they can scalp the complete experience to us through later DLC's. Imagine a kindergartener being given a 64 count box of new crayons. Now watch them open the box only to find the yellows and pinks included. That pretty much sums up the deal

Am I ever glad my local Gamestop allowed me to swap this title with another $60 of my choice. This game is bad. Like most of the merchandise being pumped out in anticipation of the new movie, this game is no exception.

When I saw Dice was signed on to make this, I expected a great shooter. This was the bait. The game itself looks pretty, the game sounds fantastic, minus the character's voices. The game itself is simply not worth the $60 price tag.

First off, there is no single player campaign. None. There's a "survival" mode, which is a slow paced 15 wave game where you must fend off the worst AI controlled Bots in the Galaxy. There's a vehicle training mode, and a "Head to head" mode where you can duel heroes with 1 friend or against the same clunky AI.

Speaking of clunky, the vehicle controls and soldier movement is clunky and awful. Tie Fighters handle like a shopping cart, and alot of the ground environment requires you to jump over the smallest rocks/inclines, especially on the Endor map.

The actual combat is forgettable. If you encounter more than 1 enemy at any given time, unless you kill them with an explosive, you wont win, even if they're lined up. The reason being is the weapons you get, yes, all of them, have no penetration, like in other shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield.

The spawn system is beyond awful. This was brought up in the beta, and the devs did nothing about it. I had times where I spawned (not on my team mate, mind you) and died within 3 seconds of spawning. I've also had enemies spawn with their backs to me. I should also point out that there's NOTHING to prevent enemies from sitting in your spawn, or even going behind it and attacking you as you spawn.

The shooting itself is very casual. Outside the Heavy Blasters, which are basically Light Machine Guns in any other shooter, no weapon has enough recoil to make a difference. The weapons really differ in range, fire rate, and damage. Most of these don't matter, because primary weapons all take atleast 2 shots to someone's head for a kill, 3-5 to the chest, and more for limbs.

The map choices aren't enough to keep you interested. They took iconic maps, like Hoth, Endor and Tattooine, and made 2 maps of eac, plus two for Mustaafar (sp?). That's 8 maps, that are actually small, unless on walker assault, where they actually allow you to play the entire levels as they should've done.

Heroes are obnoxious. Granted they're meant to be stronger than the typical trooper, the fact that it literally takes over 100 shots to kill one is insane. Coupled with the heroes' 1 hit kill abilities (Vader's Sabre toss, Leia's move that literally lets you 1 hit kill storm troopers, Luke's Sabre charge), they become frustrating to encounter. The Millennium Falcon and Slave I in the fighter mode are just as over powered, in terms of health and damage output.

Power ups (special items, heroes, Fighter/AT-ST controls) tend to spawn in the open, and most dangerous places. Should you manage to get your X-Wing power up, guess what, the tie fighters in the sky can literally shoot you down as you zone in with the fighter before you can even move. That's right. You can die before you can fire back, or even try to take evasive maneuvers.

The final icing on this cake is the DLC. $50 for the season pass. That's essentially buying another title. $50 for...what? Maybe 6 maps, new heroes (from episode 7), and more guns that are mediocre? No thanks.

As this game stands, I can NOT recommend it. There are plenty of other shooters that offer more to gamers than this title. I'm beyond thankful Gamestop let me return this.

I played the beta and enjoyed a few hours of it. Unfortunately, the full game was very sparse feeling. With only 11 guns and 4 maps for the large 20v20 games, it's pretty disappointing. The combat is just so-so, but the real issue lies in the lack of content. There just isn't enough, at least for me.

i can see why alot of people dont like this game (lack of content, lack of story etc but in my opinion i think its a solid game that will be used as a stepping stone for the sequel, if there is one. The graphics and Multiplayer are very good but if EA werent so stingy and also listened to their fans they would have made a game that everybody loved

This game had so much potential but has been let down by far too many issues.

The biggest let down is the volume of content. EA chose not to include a single player story line. Granted, the original Battlefront games didn't have the most in depth story modes, but they were there for when you didn't want to go up against other players. This game had so much potential but has been let down by far too many issues.

The biggest let down is the volume of content. EA chose not to include a single player story line. Granted, the original Battlefront games didn't have the most in depth story modes, but they were there for when you didn't want to go up against other players. Making the decision not to include story mode even worse is the fact that there actually isn't that much content in the game. Sure, there are quite a few different game modes, but they're on the same small handful of maps. Which get boring very fast.

The main battle mode, Supremacy, loosely follows on from the the original Battlefront, but taking over command points no longer gives a team any form of tactical advantage like it did in the originals. Gone are the days when taking over a command point actually meant you were weakening the other side.

Further to that, most of the objectives don't have any real effect in the game. If you shoot down shuttles in squadron mode (or protect them) you get no bonus to the team score. This means everyone will ignore the objectives as staying alive is more important. this kills a lot of the immersion that objective based play can provide.

In a very surprising move, EA has removed the concept of character classes. Gone are the snipers, heavy weapons officers and pilots. Instead, EA has chosen a one size fits all approach where any soldier can choose any unlocked weapon, and visual differences are completely cosmetic. Instead of making the characters more exciting and interesting to play it makes the characters become more and more dull with each play. Also, speaking of cosmetic changes, stormtroopers can play without their iconic helmets. Whilst only a cosmetic change, it seriously kills the immersion of fighting against the faceless machine that is the Empire.

EA has also removed vehicle spawn points. There are plenty of vehicles sitting in the levels, you just can't get in them. Instead, vehicles are random pickups that when activated make your character fade from the battlefield and appear in the vehicle. I can't begin to describe how much this grates on my nerves. It introduces an element of luck that can seriously sway the tide of the battle. If your team isn't lucky with the vehicle drops (and it's happened to my team a number of times) then your team is at a huge disadvantage.

Heroes, like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, are likewise randomly dropped. And likewise, it can hurt your team's chances when they just don't drop.

The introduction of pure fighter mode interested me. Until I played it. The control system is so incredibly simplified to the point of stupidity. Instead of handling like a fighter should it handles like a car that can go up and down. The fighters also turn so sharply that all believability is left at the game lobby. The sharpness of the turns means that instead of you skilfully lining up your target to kill them you just point your ship in the general direction of your target and wait for target lock to kick in. As with ground mode, there are two heroes that can be picked up but thankfully these drop frequently.

Apart from pretty graphics and the fact that it's Star Wars this game has very little going for it. Mindless battle after battle with no endgame in sight gets tiring, plus the lack of content that EA has promised to fill after you pay for DLC leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. It's such a shame that Battlefront 2, a game that's 10 years old, is better than this one. EA has released The Phantom Menace of the Star Wars games.

Those of you who love to snipe, well this isn't the game for you. There are two snipers but they come in the form of star cards and so only can be used a couple times a match.

This game really brings out the old battelfront players. So those of you who are new to the series, it will take you a while to get used to it. Those of you who are call of duty players coming to this game, you are not going to be able to just slide in and dominate the battelfront. So all you see is a few multiplayer variations. Some of which are very similar and provide very few new experiences. Instead of a story mode they chose to include a survival gametype. This simply does not make up for not having an adequate single player experience. The gameplay is beautiful, but without anything to keep you hooked, its' value is basically neutralized. Star Wars Battlefront is a pathetic attempt to recreate the glorious original Battlefront games that have now been out for years. Fans have now been for 10 years and what they get is a few hours of intense gameplay with almost no replay value. This game may be worth its' value in about 4 or 5 months when it costs $25, until then, save your money.

Also the first dlc that will be released will have about the same amount of game that is in the game right now. When it's all said and done, you will likely have spent at least $120 bucks on this game. The funny thing is I can't even check the spoilers box for this review because, quite simply, there is nothing to spoil!

The atmosphere really does it's job of pulling you into the experience. The mechanics are solid and it feels nice in that slightly-less-tight-than-COD way Dice games share. I found it easy to jump into and understand. The vehicles do seem to be on more of a curve than Battlefield, but im not ready to write that off as bad controls vs. me sucking. The card system allows for some depth, but overall the options are fairly shallow. Rather than destroy the experience, i feel that this keeps things simple and ensures everyone is basically competitive even if the other guy has more unlocks.

Game balance is still in issue. Rebels own Endor, just like imperials owned hoth in the beta. I havent played enough matches yet to see if DICE adjusted from the beta but even as is, it fits narratively, adding to the sense of victory when your team pulls it off.

Plenty of modes. I havent even touched them all yet. Search a wiki or preview for more info. Without a single player campaign proper (which honestly would have looked a lot like what we got anyway..multiplayer maps with terrible AI and boss fights against heroes), and lackluster progression, having a variety of modes is most likely what will carry this game after the initial shine wears off.

Well, that and the expansive season pass. Ive seen complaints in other reviews, and i wonder how someone can be so mad when the content hasnt been revealed yet, and we dont know the breadth of it. I guess this argument comes down to whether or not you believe the game AS IS NOW, justifies 60 bones. And to answer that, you have to ask how much it is worth to you to play out your star wars fantasies on the most faithful recreation of this universe to date. The aesthetics simply cant be argued in regards to their faithfulness to the source. If geeking out of being on the ground in these iconic (and one new) scenes sounds at all appealing, then you are already there.

There are lots of negative reviews. Some of them bring up some very valid points. Look at what these guys say, take out the entitlement and sentiments of those who havent played the game (they are basically reviewing a bulletpoint list they saw on reddit or gamestop) and if whats left sounds appealing...see you on the battlefront.

-THIS IS NOT BATTLEFRONT 3 from a decade ago. A lot of negative reviews harp on this point. That game had two predecessors and years for the developer to build on their engine. This is a great start for EA in Battlefront universe and all of those features people are whining about not having that was supposed to be in 3 may come about down the road in the franchise but the lack of features that were in development for a game that never came out in 2008 doesn't take anything away from this game and is well worth your investment.
-Controls are smooth and responsive, flight takes a little getting used to but once you get it it's so much fun. This game features the best Star Wars flying experience since Rouge Squadron.
-Visuals are beautiful EA DICE went above and beyond with their modeling one of the best looking games for this console generation thus far.
-Sound is absolutely amazing. This is what really factors into the immersion I mentioned earlier. From laser blasts to the sound of a tie-fighter's engine they absolutely nailed it.
-The lack of a single player campaign is somewhat disappointing, but they are various single player missions available to help you get used to the controls. These missions are fun and can be challenging. I still haven't mastered the speeder bike yet though. I just wish there were more of them.
-Maps are designed reasonably well again just wish there were more of them. There will be plenty of DLC around for this game but it's pretty expensive. I chose not to buy the season pass and to wait and see what the DLC is before I decide to buy said DLC. Something tells me the DLC will be pretty expansive but we'll wait and see.
-Plenty of game types to try from a simple TDM to the incredibly fun walker assault plenty to keep you busy.
-Lots of blasters and other weapons to unlock as well as lots of character customization.
-Multiplayer runs very well haven't experienced any lag. There was a slight server hiccup right after launch where you couldn't find a game but after about 45 mins or so servers were up and working fine. No in-game chat unfortunately so you'll have to use the Xbox party system to communicate with your friends, I don't mind this because now I don't have to listen to a 12 year old cursing and saying racial slurs and I use Party most of the time anyway but I can see why people would be let down by not having in-game chat. I don't like the fact you can only use a partner spawn rather then a squad spawn. If you have an odd number of players in your party one person will have to partner up with a random player while everyone else will have an in-party partner to spawn on. This is probably my biggest complaint.

Overall a great game with some minor things that I felt could have been better. I hope this is helpful for anyone looking to buy the game. Don't believe the haters and the COD and Battlefield fanboys go out and try this game and I promise you'll have fun.

I was bored of the game after about a total of 13 hours. For a multiplayer only game. This was not good. Now I have to say that if you drop the $120.00 and get the DLC later down the road that maybe this game will provide enough content to stay fun and diverse for a bit longer. Perhaps people don’t like to enjoy things for what they are anymore. But this reviewer would argue to enjoy everything in it’s place. Not every game needs to be played hundreds of hours to be enjoyed. I slapped down $13 to watch The Force Awakens on Dec. 18th. That will be complete in 2 hours. $60 for something I’ll enjoy for 40+ hours sounds fine to me, and the first 10 hours have been indicative of a worthwhile game.

The rest is unfortunately mediocre at best. Let's start with the obvious in that there is no single player campaign or Galactic Conquest, and prequel content is made to sit on the sidelines this time. This means that genuinely cool planets and heroes can't be included because DICE and EA have either limited themselves or been limited by Disney.

Gunplay is bland, with little to no recoil. Vehicles are clunky and hard to control on some maps (of which there are disappointingly few), and there are only three heroes per faction. Overall, I am disappointed by this game.

One last thing I forgot was that it was promised there would be no DLC, and then now there's a 50 dollar Season Pass. Knocking a couple points off for that one.

We could talk about how the game lacks map variety and beloved game modes. We could even talk about how they distort battles from the big screen to include unnecessary or detracting elements (X-Wings/TIE Fighters/Orbital Bombardment on Hoth) or didn't include elements that seem like they should be mandatory (AI Ewoks helping out the Rebellion on Endor). All of these things Star Wars: Battlefront did absolutely wrong, but it is the character "setup" and the tokens on maps are where it is most egregious. Gone are the days of class selection where you could switch on the fly depending on the need of the battle, and welcome to the days where everyone has basically the same setup as jetpacks are encouraged and real Star Wars battles are left to die. Add to this the fact that weapons are strewn around the map via tokens for you to pick up, and included in these might be the ability to play as a hero or jump into a vehicle.

Playstation 2 could allow you to see the ship, run up, and climb into it. Why is this so difficult for a current gen system to do? Oh, it's not? It's just because DICE put out an inferior product?

Do everyone a favor and avoid this title so that EA gets it into their head that people want games of quality, not just a "jingly key" game (shiny and noisy, but ultimately devoid of meaning).

The graphics and sound are absolutely amazing. The game play is amazing as well. EA has a bad Reputation and there are a lot of trolls that give it a bad score because they're horrible at the game. Some of the users that rated it under 8 wouldn't know a good game if it slapped them in the face and it's obnoxious. I've played almost all the modes by myself and I love them, can't imagine how fun it'll be with a team. At first, I was dazzled by the smooth presentation of a Star Wars game with potential for big battles and epic moments. The graphics look good despite being 720p, thanks to good use of anti-aliasing to sharpen edges enough to fool you into thinking there is a more natural, higher-definition image before you. I applaud DICE and EA over this aspect, but it's probably the best part of this game outside of the Star Wars branding. I'm a fan of the Star Wars universe, but games haven't usually been good to play. The problems with Battlefront really stem from capitalizing on my imagination of an epic Star Wars battle. I step into a battle and am wowed, I run around and shoot stuff. But what else is there? Technically, not much. There are a handful of gametypes to choose from to vary your experience, but this is a dry shooter by today's standards as, after about 6-10 hours (depending on the person) the experience dries out and feels like there's nothing else to experience. The game is just good enough that some people will be okay with that, and good for them - if you can enjoy this game for 25+ hours, more power to ya. But for me, I expected this to be a lot of Battlefield with more fantasy implementations, because Battlefield is tried & true and Star Wars is huge and epic - the two should go together very well, and yet this is a half-baked package. The experience as infantry is perhaps the best part of the game, because stepping into vehicles feels very awkward and tough to control. The AT-AT is by far the best of the vehicles as you only control shooting. Jump into the AT-ST and it gets a little tougher to control. Even more-so are flight vehicles - they're so hard to control and nearly-impossible to master that I'm insane for jumping into one. I've managed to drop a couple rival fighters in the air, but mostly get crushed the moment I enter a battlefield because of target-locking missiles that others get that you may not (major point of imbalance!). But really controlling these vehicles is so bad and I'm beyond confused over this because I can control vehicles in Battlefield quite well (jets, helicopters - whatever they have I'm capable of using). By comparison, these are the worst controls of vehicles I've ever used (by comparison, don't overreact to that comment). There isn't a bona-fide single player, but you can play offline which is basically just the multiplayer stuff with AI units. I wouldn't mind this as I LOVED Titanfall, which had zero single player opportunities, but it feels pointless in Battlefront. Heroes are also a point of great fun. Jumping in as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Baba Fett, etc. is fun because you basically melt multiple players in a single life without too much regard for your own health. It's randomized through icon pickups on the battlefield so it's not a killstreak or something else that you earn. You just gotta look for the hero icon to take part in this. And there you have it: Battlefield is fun to start off. Some people the mirage of an amazing game will be there for quite a while, but once you settle into the game and realize that the weapon unlocks and player card unlocks are all acquired (it doesn't take very long), there's nothing left to earn. You just play and, while that might be fun for a while, it leaves you having to love what is there. If you don't, you're going to regret buying this game. EA confirms a season pass for DLC which includes 16 maps (though they'll be divided among the gametypes, so that's not 16 maps you play through sitting on one gametype) for $50 - almost as much as the game. If there's any hope of Star Wars Battlefront getting better, it's going to be through the DLC. If you are on Xbox One, pay $5 for EA Access and play this game for 10 hours before you buy it. Worst case: you don't like it. Best case: you love it and you get 10% off the game when you're an EA Access member. Expand

This game has been one of my biggest disappointments in 2015. There is a huge lack of content, and the game play just isn't that fun. Lots of people are saying that it's just a Battlefield re-skin, but sadly the game would be better if it was. It feels as if it wants to be both Battlefield and Battlefront, and because of that it fails at being either.

I'm a raving Star Wars fanboy, so it does pain me a little bit to give this game bad marks. But once you get past the fact that it's pretty and that it's Star Wars, where is the substance? The progression system is fairly dull, customization is very slim compared to most competing shooters, and there is no single-player campaign to bolster the areas this game falls short in. Where is the hook that keeps you coming back? Having played this game for several hours, I can woefully say there isn't much to it.

I know it's tired and overdone to compare this game to the previous Battlefront games, since people have been doing so ever since EA and DICE released more info about this new one, but they are actually fair comparisons to make. There are less playable heroes, less maps, less planets, no Galactic Conquest, no space battles, no single-player campaign, no 4-player splitscreen modes, no prequel trilogy (you can hate on the prequels all you want, but at least the prequels gave you more content to play with)... and it's been an entire decade since the last game in the franchise came out!! It seems to me like we've traded depth of content for prettier visuals, and that's a damn shame.

This is the only AAA Star Wars game we've gotten since LucasArts was shut down years ago, so it was hard not to get hyped over this one. But once you play Battlefront for about 10 hours or so and the nostalgia factor wears off, the game runs out of new things to show you, and it starts to become apparent that Battlefront could've been so much better had EA and DICE not rushed it out to coincide with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. My advice: wait for a sale on this one. $60 is a hefty price tag to pay for a game that, apart from its polished presentation, falls woefully short of its predecessors.

Awesome gameplay and stunning visuals. Never before has a game felt so much like actually being inside the Star Wars universe. I'll be playing this one for countless hours. Glad the franchise is back in a big way.

    A REALLY GOOD GAME!
The low scores are not justified. I read a (rather lengthy) user review below that gave it a zero, but also admitted not playing the game and based the score on a 5 minute trailer.
If you're not into COD and are looking for some multiplayer fun Battlefront has you covered.

I load up the game and couldn't find any Squadron games. They would search and search for full games counting down to empty games and just sitting there. I thought it might be an update or my internet, both weren't the case. Now I finally get into a game this morning. First thing I notice, the graphics have been changed. The lines on the tie fighter were clipping bad. There were places on the maps that looked like they were glitching out. I might be able to look past that if this wasn't the main selling point for most was the graphics. Now game play. I get into a squadron game and die each spawn as soon as I reach the main group. Never a lock warning until the damn missile hit me. There was no balance. Take into account the game is basically a Re-shell of Battlefield 3 with no single player. While they have something that is supposed to single player it is poor excuse. So the main reason I bought this game isn't fun. I swear they changed something in the graphics because it looks like **** compared to what I saw in the trial. Almost like a bait an switch tactic. Don't waste your money on this game. The 4 DLC packs that aren't included but cost almost as much as the game? So they shipped half a game. Expand

You could unlock abilities for your team, new ships giving you more pieces on the chessboards, or new soldier classes to help give you the advantage over your opponent. Speaking of Character classes, remember you could be a sniper class or a explosives class or even an engineer? There were also countless other game modes to play a lot of them can be played on most of the maps. You could of even played as ewoks, wampas, geonosians, and even gungans. Those were good times...

Visuals/sounds of course are amazing everything looks, sounds and feels like you are coming out of the movies in amazing detail. stormtroopers die and fall over in ways you remember you react to environment around you without impeding your play it's fantastic
Common gripes are because of the no story and it's repetitive. First i want to remind this is a reboot and the first battlefront also didnt have a story. Second me and a friend who love playing the old battlefront together have played alot of the new battlefronts missions. The battles and survival modes are alot of fun even playing them continuously and we've enjoyed these modes alot more then we enjoyed the story or normal battles itself.
I also want to point out that the original battlefront was bare bones compared to the newest one. Both battlefront one and two had one main mode where you captured command posts it was alot of fun and i played it alot but it was repetitive. They did add things in two like the jawas vs tusken raiders but the overall mode was the same. This reboot battlefront has several modes all playing very different and all very fun.
Another common complaint is no space battles ,again i'd like to point out as a reboot this is even with battlefront 1. Despite this unlike battlefront one they have an amazing replacement. Fighter squadron is a specific mode just for dogfights through the amazing detailed maps. As fun as space combat was in the original the actual battles was the same thing every time. What i enjoyed about it was the dogfights and this mode perfectly fills that void and more.
The game isnt prefect a lack of planets that even battlefront 1 had hurts. also it's not meant for fans of high skill multiplayer shooters. This is definitely meant for casual fun in star wars worlds.

This game by no means deserves a 0-4 this game never promised to be a high skill game for cs:go players. It has alot more modes then the originals each of which are more enjoyable then the original mode. It does suffer from the lack of an era in the wars though thats probably do to the internet hating the prequels in every other regard but battlefront and the game is still alot of fun. No campaign is a bummer but this is meant as a reboot not a 3rd game and battlefront 1 didnt have campaign either. Despite this the missions and survival playing solo or with a friend more then makes up for it. The fun of space battles have been capitalized and improve in fighter squadron. Despite what people may try and tell you this isnt a battlefield reskin. I'm not a big fan of battlefield and went into battlefront expecting it to be a reskin and was thankfully proven wrong. I dont ever feel like i'm playing battlefield the movement, vehicle controls, gameplay are all different and feel that way.
This game is a solid great take on the franchise and im already pouring alot of hours into it. Take of your nostalgia glasses take a hard look at the modes and gameplay of the original and this is easily a vast improvement. Real score is about a 8 going to give it a 9 though to help this stupid system of giving a game a 0 or a 3.

Bottom line this game is just pure fun, you just pick up and play. It doesn't have the customization of Battlefield (which 85% of the unlocks never get used anyway) nor the twitch shooting mechanics of Call of Duty (if this is what you were expecting this isn't the game for you). Battles actually feel like battles where a group of troopers can be trading fire with a group of rebels and it's fun and intense. Walker Assault and Supremacy only have 4 maps but they are huge well designed maps, the smaller game modes have many more which are also designed well. The customization is limited but it is a star wars game after all. One thing no one mentions is that this game actually has split screen co-op and is a blast to play with your child or a sibling. Survival is fun and can get pretty hectic through the final rounds. The spawns can be hectic sometimes but that seems to be a problem in most games these days *cough halo 5 cough.

If you don't remember what Battlefront 2 was actually like please stop comparing this game to it for it feels exactly the same as the old ones. Yes there is no space battles but there is Fighter Squadron mode, no there aren't any classes but gamers these days can't seem to grasp how to use a class system and never drop health and ammo anyway (look at bf4). And you can't call BF2 campaign a campaign, it was a rotation of conquest mode with audio laid over top. If you want that just load up a single player battle and repeat the 4 missions a few times until you've felt you've won.

This game is geared towards a more casual audience, it's not for the hardcore but can be if you let it.

Compare a brief 8 hours put into BF4 campaign compared to 800 hours played in MP mode. 100:1 MP to SP. No brain-er. If you come into Battlefront with the competitive mindset, you're going to be let down. Instead, come into the game knowing it's a very casual game, meant to jump in and just have fun.

There are some unlocks, like extra weapons, figurines and cards. Cards can be equipped and be used as secondary weapons and can be used as many times as you like, within the cool-down time limit. The gunplay is very easy to get the hang of, thanks to the no recoil style gameplay. Some of the problems that plague this game, from my experience really hurt the overall fun factor for me. Multiple times as you're spawning in, you'll get spawned near a group of enemies or vehicles. You'll constantly also receive "Critical Kill Assists Counts As 100", a lot. The flight controls are very wonky, to say the least. Going from piloting jets in Battlefield to flying in Battlefront, felt horrendous and not the least bit fun.

In closing, Battlefront has some great fun behind it, but the fun gets old, as the gameplay becomes stale, thanks to hardly any depth to it and the low map count, the base game includes. An actual price point this game should be, would be about $40. I don't see enough content to warrant an actual normal $60 price tag.

Máxime si tenemos en cuenta que nos venden el juego base a precio de juego completo.

Honestly I am shocked by the whole game. It feels like a generic free to play shooter packed in a star wars costume. Like DICE and EA would say something like this: "It doesn't matter guys...just give them great graphics and star wars music. (just see the other reviews. Everyone is praising it because omg, it has star wars music as I play in it, oh I am in a so great star wars mood)
There are not even space battles, or singleplayer (A very weak survival mode, where the aim should be the every single round is much more and more difficult, here from round 7 almost every single round is the same is not singleplayer. And also be honest to yourself: How hard would it be for DICE, to make a Battlefront like single player mode, where you would be able to fight against the computer on the planets chronologically according to the movies, with cutscenes from the movies.), no classes, (why would we work on another classes, they will buy it anyway.), infinite ammo and gernades? What??

This brings me to the gameplay. I was utterly shocked by it. I won't even speak by the horrible spawning system. So the game is battlefront. They advertise the whole game as a chance to be a part of the star wars universe, and to live the battles. Well, maybe I was wrong, but I never seen for example floating blue PICKUPS in the movies. You want a rocket launcher because we were too lazy to create a demolition class? Go and get a PICKUP. You want to enter a vehicle for a limited time in a battlefront game ? (Even to write this question down was painful to write down) Go and get a PICKUP. Thanks DICE. So.....realistic, like in the movies. I just imagined Admiral Ackbar: "Soldiers. This is a very important battle. We won't provide you weapons or vehicles. There are magical pickups on the battlefield. Just take them, and you will get a vehicle or new weapons for a several ammount of time. Seriously as a Star wars Fan I want to cry.

Just for the comparision imagine the good old Battlefield 2 and this at the battle of Hoth. In Battlefield 2 troopers were running to the field, while the pilots entered their speeders to battle against the walkers. just like in the movies, you were able to jump in a speeder, and while your buddy was piloting, you needed to aim with the cable launcher.
Here: Go and shoot. Get a pickup if you are lucky, because the other players want it too.
    Disgusting.

Okay. But maybe I was wrong. There are still aerial battles. This can turn good. A good old fashioned fight with my favourite x-wing. Then I was utterly shocked that DICE was able to ruin this too. First of all, according to the star wars lore, for example x wings had shields, TIE fighters not, but they were much faster. Here, you can switch on your shield for a few seconds, then you have to wait for a countdown. What??? Also Tie fighters can be fast yeah, if you activate a boost as a SKILL. After that wait for the countdown....
Also it is like Titenfall in the air. 70% of the enemy vehicles are bots. Why??
I am not a game developer. But maybe yeah, it is because of the balance (while I am completely sure, that because of the balance the basic theme - x wings - slow with shields, tie fighters - fast with no shields would be enough.) Okay. But making evasive manouvers as a skill, and you need to wait to make evasive manouvers again is totally ridiculous. And again the pick ups. You are fighting with the millenium falcon for five minutes now. Here is it. You can change history. You can kill Han Solo! He needs only a few laser hits, and no more millenium falcon. Then your opponet flies into a big blue pickup, and his ship is suddenly repaired. sigh........ so real. Like in the movies yeah?
Admiral Ackbar: Pilots! This is a very important battle! But be reminded, you can't make evasive manouvers you have to wait for a countdown, so please die. Also if you are in trouble, just go and get a blue floating pick up. It will magically repair your ship.

This game is a scam for the star wars fans around the world. Don't buy it, especially if you loved the old SW: Battlefront games. November was too good with many other game tittles, don't waste your money on this. Graphics are fine yeah (This is why I give a 1), everything else feels like a cheap free to play shooter with a star wars theme.

    1) No campaign OR story in ANY form!? I love Star Wars games for the stories and lore they bring into the Star Wars Universe. Battlefront 2 had an amazing story and story elements, even if you just played the conquer map. There is NO story here, not in any single player mode nor even the multi-player modes. I thought maybe it'd be like Titanfall where you still get some cool story in the multi-player, but NOPE, it's just mindless game modes. Now the game play itself is fun, and the graphics are great as well as the sound, but that does NOT make up for this huge flaw.

    2) This is really just Battlefield with Star Wars environments, skins, and weapons. Don't get me wrong, Battlefield is great, but if I wanted to play Battlefield more, I'd, well... play Battlefield.

    3) You don't really have the freedom of being a hero or even piloting a ground or air vehicle when you want. You are in competition with the other players on finding the vehicles or power ups first, so don't expect to have a specialty as a pilot or a hero because chances are you won't be getting what you want each round.

    4) Lack of content. There are only 4 maps for the "main" multi-player mode (supremacy), and a few more maps for the other modes. VERY skimpy for the price tag, ESPECIALLY considering the fact that there is no campaign.

2/10 just because it is fun for a short time, the graphics are great, and so are the sounds. The environments are also faithful recreations.
