A competent (mostly) rail-shooter with nice graphics and very simple gameplay.

If you’re a fan of on-rails shooters, Redout: Space Assault is an enjoyable, if limited, addition to the genre.

While fans of the original Redout might be wondering why Space Assault isn’t a lightning speed racer like its predecessor, it’s a competent on-rails shooter, but doesn’t really stand out either. The visuals will most likely impress you at first, but once you start to get into the core gameplay, you might start to question some of its design decisions like I did. I didn’t hate my time with it by any means, but I can’t seeing myself hopping back into the pilot seat any time soon.

    God awful.

Enemies follow the same patterns. Your ships accounts for 1/3 of the screen. The space between your ship and enemies firing at you leave no time for reactions. Leveling up your peashooter is far from rewarding. You cant shoot if enemies aren't directly in front of you. Your reticule is fixed in front of your ship making your ship feel like a cardboard toy.
