Jan 23, 2021God awful.
Enemies follow the same patterns. Your ships accounts for 1/3 of the screen. The space between your ship and enemies firing at you leave no time for reactions. Leveling up your peashooter is far from rewarding. You cant shoot if enemies aren't directly in front of you. Your reticule is fixed in front of your ship making your ship feel like a cardboard toy.

Mar 5, 2021With clear references to After Burner, Star Fox and Space Harrier, Redout Space Assault takes us into outer space combat in an experience that feels like something out of the arcades of yesteryear with several modern twists. It may not win an award for innovation but fans of the genre are sure to enjoy it.

Feb 16, 2021While fans of the original Redout might be wondering why Space Assault isn’t a lightning speed racer like its predecessor, it’s a competent on-rails shooter, but doesn’t really stand out either. The visuals will most likely impress you at first, but once you start to get into the core gameplay, you might start to question some of its design decisions like I did. I didn’t hate my time with it by any means, but I can’t seeing myself hopping back into the pilot seat any time soon.

Feb 5, 2021I’m afraid that Redout: Space Assault on Xbox just isn’t worth it. The game couldn’t be less interesting to play, because it isn’t interested in having you play it. Its story, if one could call it that, is a mindless distraction, and everything feels pointless.
