    Perfect! From Undead Nightmare to traversing the plains in this game- it is the bomb! Hunting, shootouts, and even zombies- this game is incredible. Jon Marston is a great character with super dead eye abilities and it's just so much fun. Red Dead is GTA in the old west and it's a win!

    RDR2 has one of the greatest stories in any video game to date, I really wish they make a next-gen update sometime soon, but Rockstar is currently working on GTA 6 rn, but the game is amazing, online is alright, but story is really good, I'll even say that this game is better than GTA 5 in general, GTA is better for online multiplayer, and RDR is better for story mode, but enough of theRDR2 has one of the greatest stories in any video game to date, I really wish they make a next-gen update sometime soon, but Rockstar is currently working on GTA 6 rn, but the game is amazing, online is alright, but story is really good, I'll even say that this game is better than GTA 5 in general, GTA is better for online multiplayer, and RDR is better for story mode, but enough of the comparison stuff, I love this game, and I am super excited to play the next one, although, it may be several years before we get RDR3… Expand

    Absolutely amazing game with the great western influence. It puts an interesting spin on the setting by making it more modern. Red dead 1 felt like it was made to have a prequel story, and this absolutely fills those shoes and exceeds it.

Money is easy to come by, but has almost no value as the player can only buy a few already inexpensive items. The story itself is on rails with an admittedly self-aware oafish protagonist who can choose to be searching for redemption or sinking to the depths of depravity.

    The game excels most when you are avoiding the storyline or taking it slow and enjoying the environment, Stunning visuals, incredible animations and an attention to detail. It can be easy to get lost in a world that feels alive, but getting lost in the world is probably the best use of your time in this game.    … Expand

    Played and completed on Xbox series x (initially started on Xbox one x but then upgraded). Seminal visual quality locked 4k HDR visuals (albeit at 30fps). Simply industry leading quality animations, storylines, textures,lighting,soundtrack,effects work,open world map design and ai systems. The only criticism I would say is the game is unreasonably long to play through all the side contentPlayed and completed on Xbox series x (initially started on Xbox one x but then upgraded). The only criticism I would say is the game is unreasonably long to play through all the side content with main missions it's around 60-70+hrs. The game is a work of art. It saddens me the houser bros are not going to be leading the way on future rockstar games but this serves as an example of the pinnacle output of these studios (slave labor working conditions aside!!).     There's a web of stories and conflicts and relationships and enemies and storylines to follow that should make it jarring for the player, yet never does it become incomprehensible. The tone of the game is consistent throughout, never feeling like it's too much or too little. However, The most impressive aspect of the game, to me, is how the story doesn't serve the game, rather the game serves the story.

    The gameplay is slow. That is a gripe I have with the game, with *way* too many missions where all you do is... follow. It really halts the game down and makes it hard to get into at first. But in that same vein, there's a reward, with a shootout or a chase or something that adds to the excitement of the game. And the story is levitating it all, wondering what's gonna happen next or what the characters will do.

    Again, the game is slow. It's a bit too slow, and there is a chapter in the game that just felt completely unnecessary, but as an experience, it surpasses those flaws and by the end of the game, you'll want to play it again.

    I know the intro may be boring, but it gets better. Trust me.

    OH and the open world is AMAZING. Second-best in any video game, behind Breath of the Wild. However, it's an open-world that feels more alive than any video game out there.    … Expand

    I absolutely loved RD1 and never got tired of playing it. I was so excited to play this game and at first was struck by the beauty of the world and the quality of the voice acting. Love how real the horses are and how they behave exactly like real horses. The first game was full of fun things to do and surprises to find in the wilderness. This game has none of that. The game crashes or locks frequently and everything you try to do is ruined by the weakness of your character. I fail constantly and as for objectives to get a gold, forget about it. I am so sad that the game I love so much has become one I freaking hate. The four points are for the beauty of the game and the things that they did right, everything else has ruined this game for me. I will pass it on to my son and see if he can wring any fun out of it and maybe show me where the fun is. Biggest disappointment since Mafia 3. Update, my son hated it too!… Expand

    great game, if you want to play a game and not a donation simulator, then I recommend buying it. But this certainly does not apply to the online mode, which is dead and generally not interesting in itself. and the game is quite slow not everyone can like it

    I have never liked Rockstar productions. The GTA series is a downright failure in my eyes. RDR2 praised by many friends turned out to be little better. The game is pretty, the storyline moderately interesting, while the gameplay is a tragedy. The game tires me out so much that I play through it piece by piece. I need a week's rest for every hour of play.

    About as immersive, well written and stunningly beautiful as any game ever made. Of course no game is perfect but this one has no major faults at all, nit pick and you'll find cracks but it holds water better than any other game I've played. A masterpiece.

The gameplay is so so slow its almost unbearable the controls feel very clunky imo and the vigorous "task" you have to do almost feel like chores. Also the bounty system is totally broken if you accidentally bump into a npc you'll have a 300 dollar bounty. I feel like Rdr1 is a much better game. Also I hate how Rdr2 is a prequel because they most definitely pulled Authurs character was pulled out of thin air and like he should've been mentioned in Rdr1 if Authur had that much of an impact on John's life. Leaving the story being kind of semi broken because half of characters aren't mentioned in the Rdr1 even though they had, like I said had a big impact on John becoming a gunslinger. Also I agree with this dude about the tutorial it's long as hell and the amount of times I had to travel there and then here to do CHORES.… Expand

    This game is astonishingly beautiful and has one of the best stories and storytelling I've ever seen in a video game. The only thing I can criticize about this masterpiece is the somewhat very linear storytelling (especially in chapter VI, which is still great).

    RDR2 where do I start? let's start with the things I love. I truly love the world it feels like a real world with people living in it you have so many things to discover and interact with. This game is fantastic but it just has too many flaws to be called a masterpiece. For example, the combat system is just too simple I only died 5 times during my whole playthrough. There are many ammo types yet they serve no purpose because the weakest ammo type could kill an enemy with one shot to the head and believe me it's this easy I went through the whole game getting headshots like I was robocop. Furthermore, the weapon variety is lacking in this game. Moreover, I hated the horse controls tapping A for two hours is not a great gaming experience in my opinion. I hated how linear the missions were the game gives you no room to do what you want and that destroys the replayability of the game. Furthermore, once you have lots of money you have nothing to spend it on. RDR2 excels at making stories with great characters and amazing villains yet most of the missions are just following this guy to this place and then killing 50 guys. RDR2 gives you one the best sandboxes in gaming but the missions are the most linear garbage I have ever seen it reminds me of call of duty campanes. I truly hope rockstar will do better with their next game but for now, we will make do with this flawed masterpiece. I recommend this game to every OpenWorld enjoyer. However, if you hate open-world games this game will not win you over.… Expand

    This is an amazing game that is dated by Rockstar's old and slow gameplay. I enjoyed the game but it plays at a very slow pace and the story goes on forever. It has a beautiful and immersive world and a ton of fun to be had. I recommend you buy this game. Also the title is dishonest, as this game is a prequel.

    Best open-world game of all-time imo. The story is fantastic, the characters are fantastic, the world is fantastic, and the attention to detail is kind of mind blowing. I'm consistently playing this game. Like, it's always in my rotation and it's something I continue to come back to. I have played through this story leisurely a bunch of times since release. I never do that.

    I'm not a huge Rockstar fan. So it really surprised me when this ended up being one of my favorite games I've ever played. The writing is just so good, possibly the best out of any game I've played. This leads to excellent characters that make you really care about the world. Just a masterpiece.

Red Dead Redemption 2 è un capolavoro assoluto, è uno di quei giochi che definisco il medium e che lo elevano alla pari delle "arti" canoniche. Non solo per la complessità dell'impianto, per la maestosa realizzazione tecnica, per l'enormità dell'open world, ma proprio per la profondità della storia, per il respiro che tutta la vicenda di Arthur Morgan e sodali ha nella sua soverchiante drammaticità, nella sua quasi Verghiana condanna alla ricerca di una redenzione che non sarà mai possibile. L'unico appunto che mi sento di fare è sull'epilogo, del quale comprendo la necessità di collegamento con il primo RDR, ma che dopo la climax di emozioni del finale risulta un po' stucchevole nella sua ripresa di dinamiche "ordinarie" tipiche dell'inizio del gioco. Per quanto siano molteplici i livelli ai quali si può fruirne e goderne, RDR2 può non essere per tutti, soprattutto per la flemma con cui pone le basi di tutto quello che verrà dopo. Bisogna perseverare, e si verrà ricompensati con una delle esperienze più intense che quelli che qualcuno si ostina a chiamare "giochini" possano riservare.… Expand

    this game is great, a lot of people say that Grand Theft Auto V has better characters, story, graphics, etc, but everything is improved in RDR2 with an amazing story from start to end and the only big flaw is that I would only experience it for the 1st time once.

    I've been through quite a few games, including those with open worlds, but the way I was impressed by the study of the open world in this particular game, there is simply no comparison with anything. The way everything is detailed makes the world of this game truly alive and unique. There is something to do in this world (especially if you like to play games to the holes), do you want to fish? Yes, no problem, here's a fishing rod for you, different baits for different types of fish, and in addition tests and catching legendary fish. Go hunting? Here are hundreds of species of animals for you, make clothes from their skins, sell meat to a butcher and hunt legendary individuals. There are also a bunch of different tests that diversify the usual study of beautiful places and attractions. I personally got stuck going through trials related to gambling.

    The plot and characters in this game are also gorgeous, at one point this game begins to justify the word "redemption" in its name, and real male tears will come from the finale of the game (unless of course you liked the whole game in general). There is no point in describing the plot and characters in reviews, since I don't want to tell everything, and anyway, I can't understand the whole point from the review. You just need to take it and play. I can only say one thing, the main character - Arthur Morgan, has become one of my favorite protagonists in games in general.

    In conclusion, I will say that I can safely recommend the game for passage, since there are no similar projects with such a genre and study of the world, except for the first part.     Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't a game that should be taken lightly. This is true in most of Rockstar's long list of games, which often overwhelm the player with their sheer size and mechanical depth.

    Game is obviously awesome in many aspects, however, after some time playing it I find it boring and frustrating. Most particularly traveling from one place to another is painful I know that after some time you can actually use quick travel option, but you can only do it from your camp.

    RDR2 is very enjoyable and I very much like it. One of the best open world games and the graphics are insane. Also they are lots of things to do such as Bounties, returning wagons and such else. Very fun game 10/10

    I personally still hold that the original is the better one between the two games, but this is still a top tier gaming experience and a real treat for fans of the first game. Gorgeous graphics and environment, wonderfully engaging story and characters, another killer soundtrack and just a romping good time. I hope we'll get a Part III in the future.

    I don’t know what they thought in the past but this is the most detailed game ever done, you can see this when YT channels do graphics and details comparisons, they use RDR2 as the standard, 4 years later and no game can compare.
    Ps: I’m sure people was so frustrated waiting for gta 6 and started hating this masterpiece instead of looking at “arguably the best game ever” the right way

    . Historical fidelity is on a good level. Including characterization and environment.
    . Rockstar attention to detail skyrocketed with RDR2. Everything is so lively and full of minutiae.
    . The immersion is huge with the realistic approach of gameplay. People complain about riding on horseback for too long, but this is the intent of the game. To show the vast and gorgeous vista, to make the transition between biomes seamless and to show how desolated was the US west at that time in history. The immersion through reality fidelity in gameplay is also visible in small actions picking up your hat on the ground when it falls and in mechanics like hair growth with the passage of time.
    . The characters are relatable, the interactions are great and they all seem so alive.
    . The emotion connection we feel for Arthur and few other characters is entirely on another level, even as the game struggles with the slow pacing of both gameplay and story progression.

    Well, I'm for from a professional reviewer and this got to be one of my first times doing this. I know RDR2 have it's flaws, but they are little and none of them interfere with the experience. I can even say that some of them them are necessary for the feel the developers wanted to convey to players.

    This is the second best video game I have ever played; Witcher 3 being the first. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a great story and an awesome open world. I truly felt like a cowboy and was sad when I finished the game.

    It doesn’t matter if you are gamer, a human being, or an alien from another planet; Red Dead Redemption 2 is a title that you just can’t miss. The bar set by RDR2 is so high that even Rockstar itself will probably have a hard time raising it. One of the best releases in the history of digital entertainment.

    While it has some notable but minor flaws, it's hard to argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a masterpiece. The end result of the meticulous detail, wonderful writing and stunning looks is an open world that sets a new bar for believability, and a time and place I can't stop thinking about or wanting to be a part of.
