A great version of my favorite game ever! The gameplay is fun. I can build what I want, explore a huge world, and fight monsters. The online also is improving a lot, and playing online is great. They have a lot of new stuff coming out and that is always exciting. This game is easy to like, and hard to get bored from. It is worth playing for sure!

Minecraft is the same but with minor improvements like adding horses and new music. So I don't really got anything new for the game but it's still fun. So I give it a 9 out of 10

Larger map size and enhanced graphics seem to be the only incentive for making the jump from 360 to One. Supposedly, more will come to the next gen titles, like the addition of servers, so perhaps it's a fee worth paying. Furthermore, for those who do not own a console iteration, definitely go with either the Xbox One or PS4 edition. It's a leg up from last gen's underwhelming console ports.

Minecraft X1 Edition is WONDERFUL. If you're on the fence about this game (thinking it's only for kids like I did before I played it), you're VERY far from the truth -- Minecraft gives you the reigns for endless creativity, build what your heart desires and destroy what you don't admire.

Fun, deep, varied gameplay. Minecraft is one of those games that can be played so many different ways, next gen just makes it a little deeper and look prettier. For the price it is any easy buy. Don't expect a whole new game just expect the same great game with a graphical bump if you owned it on 360 and loved it, it is a no brainier. Come on what are you going to do, not play Minecraft.

I have to say while I originally had no interest in this game I got sucked in by an 8 year old! After that I could not put it down! It is a complete waist of time and pointless but none the less its great!!!
For the price paid you really cant go wrong and should you have an 8 year-old to play with, so much the better!!!

Even though the hype of minecraft has worn off for me, it was still nice to see a next-gen remake with a noticeably higher frame rate and graphical improvements. Also the render distance was improved, which is always a nice thing too see.

The game has potential that is only limited by the imagination of the developers and those playing it.

Minecraft on consoles takes a huge step forward. The ability to transfer your worlds and purchases from the 360 version make it so there's really no excuse to make this upgrade. It's obviously still not up to the scope of the PC version, but consoles have never been closer. With the promise of more to come in future updates it might not be long until it's there. Even without all of the PC benefits Minecraft on consoles is still a highly addictive experience.

There are no goals in the game other than the ones you make for yourself. It's a game that requires player driven exploration, creation, and destruction. The results are liberating. Finding new things to craft and shaping the world to look however you want it to is a blast. Animals and dangerous monsters who only appear at night give the world some extra life. You can get pets or fight until dawn against enemies like the explosive creeper that can destroy what you've built. Or you can focus on raising animals for food and sleep the night away so that you don't have to deal with monster.

The building mechanics are simple to use and give you an almost endless amount of freedom. Having friends along for the ride only serves to make the game more fun and increase your productivity. The larger world size compared to previous console versions means that there is even more potential and freedom to do whatever you want. The gameplay experience is truly endless.

If you have never experienced Minecraft then there is no better way to do it on consoles. While the PC version is still the way you will want to go for the biggest and more content rich version, with future updates on the horizon it's not hard to see how the game might one day match the PC version. As of right now though it is still an excellent way to play an excellent game. It's a non-stop source of player driven and created fun. One that I highly recommend experiencing.

I give "Minecraft: Xbox One Edition" a 9.1/10.

OK s it gets a 10 because 2 and a bit years after paying next to nothing for this game, the kids (all my kids) are still playing this on and off. There's not a lot to offer on Xbox for 5 - 10 year olds, Kinect is DEAD right? So the kids play this and a mixture of the various Lego games. Minecraft has been a real entertainment mainstay for years, what other game can make the same claim?

Mining can be very fun but if some of those can run on forever, and it becomes overwhelming. If this happens I usually get lost and frustrated then I give up. The game is never complete, it keeps getting updated and new stuff is always added. Overtime, a lot of the stuff they added was too much, and I didn't like it because the game was loosing its roots of just simple mining, gathering, and building. Now there's enchanting, potion brewing, and many more items and mobs. It's not all bad, I actually like some of the new textures, biomes, and objects. But is the game gonna ever be 100% done? The ability to instantly get a crafting menu up with "X" is an awesome feature, and saves having to look up Crafting Recipes online, like a lot of people have to do on PC version.
The Survival version is incredibly fun and detailed, and contains lots of new features. The creative mode is very useful if your someone who just likes to jump in and start building.
    A couple Downfalls are;
    - Online multiplayer limited to 8 players per session,

Overall this game is very good, and well worth your money. However there are some slight things that need improving, however I am sure they will be patched in later updates, as this was always done in PC version.

Controls are easy to learn and the very nature of the game means there are a million things to do and a million ways to play. My multiplayer experience is limited to 2-person co-op, but it works mostly flawlessly. A few dropped connections occasionally, but that's probably as much to do with Xbox Live as it is with Minecraft itself.

If you enjoyed Minecraft on the PC, you will enjoy it on the Xbox One (though it is about two point releases behind right now). If you have never played Minecraft, I can't recommend it enough. It takes a simple concept and turns it into almost limitless opportunity for play.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Minecraft is pure, pure fun which is a great way to wrap up the day after a long game of CoD and GoW. When you have forgotten all about TrackMania and League of Legends, you will still be spending countless hours on Minecraft. It is the game where it brought us new meanings for 'Notch' and 'Creeper', while still having that classical open world 3D game.
It is really relaxing and soothes the brain in a sort-of-like sauna of creativity. Whenever you are ready, you can buy it. It constantly gets updated with new exploration items and more additions to an already great game. The PC edition is OK but needs easier controls and Minecraft Xbox One edition is purely the best.
Xbox One has always been my favourite platform and this is the representation of what a powerful machine like it can achieve. 13.5 Giga Bytes literally pays off when you sink deep down into the game's core.
With 56.65+ million sales, it has a meaning to be that popular to Xbox owners. They (me, as well) are tired of Pegi 18 games especially the young ones, who are not allowed to play on games with a Pegi age rating higher than their age is.
Don't be fooled like countless before by Minecraft: Xbox One Edition's blocky graphics and retro interface because, like food, the more you try it, the more you LOVE it!
The only proper way to explain this game cant be in one word, as 'Awesome' and 'Magnificent' really don't fit MCX1E, the special word would be 'Unique', or 'Ne'er been a better game'. Wait, that's 5 words. Agh, it don't matter about words, Minecraft's gameplay is what gets everyone pumped up for new updates and it is what keeps them coming back for more, each version better than the last.

Shut up, what i am trying to say that this is one of the best games i have ever played.

Mojang shows us how something simple can become great.
    Im vibing with the OST.
The worlds are great and really fun to explore.
The crafting is crazy, in a good way.
In creative, as a matter of fact, you can build everything.
    Verdict:
    Something simple made great. 10/10

Such a good game. A really great idea, and the periodic updates just make the game better and better. The issue is that it fails to hold my interest for long amounts of time; I often fall off after a few weeks of playing, and it's hard to get back on. Still really great. I wish there were more bosses though...

My most played game of all time. I have java edition as well, put in some ways I prefer the simplicity, controls, and movement of this version. Even without mods, this is perfect.

Hate it or not, in a way it is the perfect game. It has no end so you can play it forever. You can build do redstone or play on servers. You can do anything.

Java beats bedrock any day. However, I like Minecraft and as one of the first games for my Series X, it is definitely worth it. Controls are a bit wonky, and to play online you need a subscription which sucks, and then there's the marketplace, also it's a bit glitchy sometimes logging in, but it's Minecraft and deserves an 8/10 fully. For $25.99 CAD, pick it up!

Incredible. Simple yet fun mechanics, with incredible gameplay. Also the community is so creative, this game is great to play with friends. I just wish the Xbox version was updated at the same rate as the PC version of the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I rate Minecraft Xbox One Edition 5 stars because it has many positive features.
One of the reasons I like this game is that it runs very well on any Xbox One because it was designed specifically for the Xbox One, as opposed to the newer Minecraft, known as Minecraft Bedrock, which was made for many devices and runs horribly on older Xbox ones. Another advantage of Minecraft Xbox One Edition is that, unlike the newer Minecraft, you can play split screen with up to four players. The game also has few bugs and runs smoothly without delays or strange things, giving you an excellent gaming experience. The game also has three unique game modes no longer available in Minecraft Bedrock. The graphics are also set to high, but there are no settings to change it to lower graphics because it is guaranteed that you will get 60 frames per second on
any Xbox while playing, unlike Bedrock, which has graphic settings to change lower because it lags a lot. Finally, if you despise waiting, Minecraft Xbox One edition is for you because it starts quickly. I have the original Xbox One, and it takes about 20 seconds to load the game, compared to Minecraft Bedrock, which can take up to 5 minutes or even 10. The downside is that the game has been discontinued, so it is stuck on version 1.12.2, released in 2017. You can still play online and join minigame servers. Also, it is no longer available digitally because it has been discontinued. If you have a digital-only Xbox, you are out of luck.

what more needs to be said? The only big game studio that actually cares is Mojang and Microsoft and this is a hot contender for the best game of the last 30 years. Maybe of all time.

Runs perfectly on the new console with the only problem being a increase in load times. And so because of that, 9/10

9.5/10, if you have an xbox and don't have this then what are you doing?

Minecraft is one of the most iconic, influential, sold and played video games ever. One of the reasons behind this success is the infinite number of things that can be created in the game and the exploratory component. Beautiful.
