    Like Halo 4 343 continued their assault on the past art style and seek'd to change the look of everything from the past halo games despite clear fan displeasure for their changes.

    Gameplay: 343 has clearly looked at titan fall and thought lets give the player all those abilites because that's fun in that game, but it breaks yet further the balance and flow of combat in the both the single and multiplayer game mode.

    Forge was added long after launch and can only be used if you have Xbox live gold because apparently its unacceptable to save your maps on the console and they must be on the cloud.

    Multiplayer warzone in fun but pay to win has been introduced to the game and 343 basically told fans the shut up they know what is best.    … Expand

    The gunplay is absolutely amazing, pretty much one of the best fps experiences on console, fantastic work 343, can't wait to get more time into th fnatastic MP mode this weekend

    The campaign is absolutely embarassing tho

    Weak story. The whole thing being after master chief saved humanity half dozen times now he is being hunted as a fugitive and cant be trusted is stupid. I am sure half the people buy it for the campaign and it is just terrible.

    The bad:
    You don't mess around with the Chief and his team, this leaves a sense of estrangement from what was seen in the trailers in a frantic hunt for Locke vs John 117. The Knights that came out as big enemies in Halo 4, here they return but to Harder Deputy Boss mode than in the previous game.

    Lo Meh !:
    No, Halo did not die in Reach, many criticize Halo 5, without having played it. The Bungie-Lovers do not accept that Halo 5, although it is not the story that will change the world or the way you see video games, is a great pillar of multiplayer, a game that after years of coming out has a very active community both in cooperative and competitive games, both to hang out in Warzone or laughing like crazy in Action Bag, or by sharing modified content and maps in Forge. An impossible accomplishment like "Seriously Something" is missing like in Gears of War Saga. It is not the infecting garbage that many who have not even played it say.    … Expand

    Too bold for its own good. Feels like it’s gotten way too far from the first 3 games in terms of campaign as well as multiplayer. The story feels empty. Too many characters and not enough development. Side note: when are they going to stop changing Cortanas face...

    Man this game had so much potential. The trailers were hyping this thing up BIG time and even I got suckered in by thinking this was going to be not your ordinary Halo game. Well that got that part right, and not in a good way either. Besides being a short game, you barely play as Master Chief. You play as Locke who's another Spartan tasked on finding Chief and bringing him down. The bigMan this game had so much potential.     Halo 5 is still inferior to the main trilogy from Bungie. But this is much better than Halo 4. The plot is no longer so delusional, and the division of missions into 2 detachments is an excellent plot move. The graphics on Xbox One X are amazing. I advise everyone in the Halo Infinite preversion.

    The campaign story was awful. Just ruined halo 4 and was plain boring. The dialog was so poorly written and it was such an insult to injury. The multiplayer was terribly barren at release but is great now. It just disappoints me to see halo decline so much. I will give 343 the benefit of the doubt as they have improved the game a fair bit, but it’s still jarring.

    Tbh I really liked the game, especially the multiplayer. The singleplayer story was not bad but a bit forgettable and kinda underwhelming, but still offered some really fun gameplay. Speaking of the gameplay Halo 5 changed it up in many ways while returning to some more traditional element. I really like how fast the gameplay feels, and the multiplayer is probably my favorite of the entireTbh I really liked the game, especially the multiplayer.     I won't say it's the best but very cool visuals and gameplay mechanics. But then again there is just something about this game that doesnt really put it up there As one of the bests in the Halo franchise.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Halo 5 isn't a bad game, in fact, it brought a lot of new mechanics and raised the gameplay to today's standard. Also, its graphics are very good and the cutscenes look very realistic.
    Now, where does this game fail? The story. The story itself isn't as good as the original trilogy one, but the thing with Halo 5 is that you play like 75% of the game using Spartan Locke instead of Master Chief. The problem with that is that you literally only buy Halo to play as Master Chief and playing almost all the game with Locke is a little disappointing.
    Overall, not a bad game but not as good as the original Halo trilogy. 6/10    … Expand

Mi problema es el spartan locke la causa de la mala campaña, todos sabemos que hay cambios y son inevitables, pero hacer la mayor parte de la campaña con un personaje con quien no nos identificamos no ayuda a meternos en el papel para el juego, y dos niveles para hablar con pnj eso no ayudo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Halo 5 is an alright game. While it does have its problems (especially with its story) it manages to still tell a tale that keeps the player invested while providing excellent gameplay and multiplayer, along with an outstanding forge.

    Campaign Score

    (cliffhanger sucks by the way, just going to mention that)
    Halo 5's campaign struggles mainly in its pacing and idea execution. While not being as weak as Halo 4 or to some degree Reach (still a good game), Halo 5 forces you away from the Chief and tries to make you like Locke. While yes Locke is a badass, it takes until the end of the story for you to give a **** a major flaw in its story. Cortana as a villan however more so the gameplay were stellar. The times you play as chief in his 3 very long missions which actually almost add up to the time played as Locke, have very crucial story and character moments, focused on 4s ending and team chemistry.
    The gameplay and level design kept me and my partners not only engaged but excited. Ferocious landscapes and occasional cinematics while opening up new worlds was extremely exciting. Everything felt smooth and the art style blended too well with enemies sometimes, but that's ok. It was a fun experience for my party and holds much replay value.

    While the multiplayer certainly isn't the original trilogy, it is a much better version of 4 that includes both casual and competitive game modes, along with some new ones such as the infamous Warzone. Its **** fun as hell and ill definitely come back to it. For forge, just **** great man, just play it yourself.
    But microtransactions? Really? Pitiful **** thing to have in your game cosmetic or not. I will be taking a point off for that.

    Halo 5 was an amazing experience, all be it with flaws that fans new and old would be able to recognize. A mostly compelling story with mostly charming characters but an annoying cliffhanger similar to Halo 2 but arguably not AS bad. Overall should you play this game, hell yes! While it may fall mid-tier and divided the fanbase like Reach, in my opinion its a great game!

    Halo 5 al empezar con el recordé jugar a halo 2 por muchas horas con amigos lamentablemente en esta ocacion halo 5 se siente extrañamente lento al momento de la acción. Halo 5 nos presenta una historia de persecución entre el jefe maestro y un grupo liderado por el Spartan loke que en ocaciones se siente muy forzada en lo visual no destaca ya que se puede ver en todo momento una borrosidadHalo 5 al empezar con el recordé jugar a halo 2 por muchas horas con amigos lamentablemente en esta ocacion halo 5 se siente extrañamente lento al momento de la acción. Halo 5 nos presenta una historia de persecución entre el jefe maestro y un grupo liderado por el Spartan loke que en ocaciones se siente muy forzada en lo visual no destaca ya que se puede ver en todo momento una borrosidad que entorpece la presentación y unas animaciones de los personajes que bajan de fps y las hace lucir extrañas e incómodas.

The characters could be really interesting if they had allowed more character development with them, but they did not. The multiplayer was a fun new addition to the Halo arena matches.     Like the previous chapter it's a bad Halo but, it's also a bad game. The countryside is boring, the plot terrible. Level design is rubbish. Graphically not exceptional. Gameplay is the only thing sufficient.

    This game is just meh. The game play is decent, but the story sucks so badly and doesn't make any sense. This game is more of the same and is just repetitive. Nothing changes, it's the same go here, shoot, go here, shoot. The characters suck and Masterchief is second fiddle in this game. Not a good choice, this game is just meh. Buy it on sale, just because it's Halo, but know it's just average.

    (Calificación 7.2) Opinión personal un juego que al día de hoy es muy bueno en su modo multijugador. Desgraciadamente esto no aplica en su fecha de salida este juego salió incompleto y con una campaña aburrida y poco carismática. Pero su multijugador actual me párese muy divertido

    Halo 5s campaign is definitely lackluster, nowhere near as interesting as Halo 2 or 3, or Reach, which is a shame.

    It is a complete and solid game with some changes like the campaign that you dont play only with Master Chief, and the game has a fantastic multiplayer. In conclusion, it is a Halo game, so is a must have.

    Halo 5 is not a bad game my friends and I really enjoyed playing this game but I don't disagree that there are tons of problems with the campain and the multiplayer, the combate can be glich and sometimes when you shoot someone the damage ratio won't count some times, but over all it is a good game.

    Another solid halo from 343. The gameplay feels like a noticable upgrade from halo4 and there it looks fantastic in 4k on the one x. Soundtrack was great and the cast and cutscenes were excellent. Negatives for me were the 'cartoon badguy' moments throughout the plot and the emphasis on fighting promethan enemy types (just not as fun as covenant imo). Can't wait to see what they do with infinity!!

    The actual combat is an improvement from 4, although it still feels boring to fight Prometheans all game and your ammo is still super limited, forcing you to use Promethean weapons. The good news is that these weapons feel way better than in 4, but you don't get to spend much time using the classic UNSC weapons. Either way, you'll miss fighting the more interesting Covenant, who were just a more varied enemy. You also only get to play as Master Chief for about an hour out of the 5 hour campaign.

    Multiplayer: This is where the game shines. There's something for everyone. Warzone Firefight for PVE is a bit light, but still pretty fun. Warzone PvP is the most fun I've had in Halo multiplayer since 2004, but it takes forever to find matches, as it's unranked.

    The other arena modes are pretty much what we've always had, but faster paced. The new movement mechanics have caused some controversy among other long-time Halo players, but I don't mind it.

    343 have gone out of their way to try to create an e-sport out of the game, which I don't think is the way to go. Regardless, it has created a skill gap that makes it harder for newer players to get their feet set. All things considered, it did a lot of things better than Halo 4, but definitely left you feeling like you wanted more on the single-player side of things.

    The multiplayer saves this game, in my opinion. And if you don't mind a short campaign that's just a set up for Halo: Infinite, it's totally worth getting this game on Gamepass and enjoying the multiplayer.    … Expand

You literally need to have a separate Xbox One and separate TV for each player, plus an internet connection because the game doesn't even support LAN.

    They've also ruined the gameplay by introducing climbing and dodging mechanics. Please stop, that doesn't belong in Halo.

    Solid mechanics but its not a halo game, lacks details on the water on vegetation on the story and so on. Is by far a spit on the face of people that loves the campaign of the previous entries. Like the Multiplayer but if not because of the multiplayer that i buy Halo games. If is just multiplayer that 343 cares about make a free to play multiplayer Halo and make your easy money.

I played it on my brand new XBox One X and its stunning. If you never played Halo before, I think this is a good one to start on. In addition, I just wanna say that when you play a videogame nowadays most things you'd take for granted probably and think that they were always that way in gaming. Well, actually there's an evolution to it (ever wondered about the Evolution mentioned in the original Halo game's title) and the things that you see used widely by games of these days can be traced back to past games. But what is striking is that if you do the Math, well, as I say above ... by far and large ... Halo Wins :-) the most significant advances used widely by games of today and a good number of them can all be traced back to the originlal 2001's Halo CE game. For the record, the Hallmark use of the thumbsticks, use one for moving your character and the other for looking around/aiming, virtuaaly all games of today play like that and you'd probably think that this was always like that, it was not, it was Halo that introduced this idea and made it popular. But it doesn't stop there:

    -Ever wondered that it's so convenient to carry just 2 weapons and quickly change between them by using a face button? This can be traced back to HALO as well.
    -What about using a dedicated shoulder button just for throwables? That's also HALO.
    -Vehicles mingled with on-foot during Campaign missions, and btw on vehicles you control them by using one thumbstick to move vehicle back, forth and other to steer, analogous to on-foot, this is nice because it save the triggers for shooting on vehicles that have weapons. So, HALO
    -And ther's more, but I think I'll stop here before I bring readers to tears of frustation, kidding. A last one ... ever wondered how in many popular games, I won't give out names, your health regenerates to full level after a while always and depletes when you take damage only to regenerate again when you're not taking damage, so, sorry pal, this is also, HALO!

    Ok, I think that's it I could also mention a space setting which is so cool, but maybe this one can go back to Metroid :-) at least this is the oldest space game that comes to my mind. Talking about space, Master Chief's armor is so cool and how they've been improving its design is also pleasing, it's truly an original and wonderful looking design! I also like how they've introduced new armor types for diferent characters with this entry like the one for Agent Locke.

    So, I guess it's about time I conclude it, I just remebered that back in the day (2001) the OG XBox was designed for local network multiplayer and Halo made use of it, later Microsoft would launch XBox Live which paved the way for modern online multiplayer that lifted off with the revolutionary XBox 360.

    Ok, now I'll seriously end this, last thing I liked Spartan John 117 so much that I just not like him but would be a follower of Spartan John (Master Chief) in that I have decided that I'll no longer pursue PhD. That's correct, I have a Masters degree and will keep it like that, I'm a Master just like Master Chief, cool isn't it? At least, that is what I was gonna do before talking to my cousin Rod, after talking to him he encouraged me to actually do PhD, so I don't know anymore ... I'll probably take some time to consider a decision, but in any case, know that no matter what I considered making a major life-driving decision based on HALO! This game is quite something.     I cannot explain how horrendous this game is I finished the Story in 4 hours 4 HOURS no split screen makes it even worse! I bought an Xbox one ONLY for this game and they give me this crap? The multiplayer is fun at times. this is not the "Best Halo" its just a rushed out game. Thanks for ruining Halo, 343.

    The game was Ace. The MP is extremely well and refined and visual the game was amazing. Don't know why anyone would rate it 0 simply for splitscreen. Who does splitscreen nowadays?!

    Halo 5: Guardians is okay. Its campaign is rubbish, but the multiplayer is solid thanks to the foundation it’s built upon. Warzone is a really enjoyable experience, and while combat is still mostly about tossing grenades and hitting the melee button, the whole Requisition gimmick adds some much-needed flavor to proceedings.

    The latest Halo is a big deal only for hardcore Halo fans. For me the single player campaign was unbearably pompous and despite 1080p and 60 fps the visuals are not as breathtaking as they once were in Halo 4. The game builds a solid foundation for Halo 6, but it’s not one of those games you absolutely have to play. [13/2015, p.48]

    With a more accessible and engaging story and solid new designs for the Prometheans, Halo 5 is a major improvement over Halo 4. Warzone is a great addition to the multiplayer, though the mode seems to have some game balance issues. [Nov 2015]
