    Most of the negative reviews havn't played the game. "Flow" is the word that comes to mind when playing Halo 5. Favoring curves over sharp lines, you are guided through each multiplayer map with a cat and mouse type feel. This calls for top notch teamwork to cut off your opponents. The maps are vivid but not hard on the eyes like Halo 4. One of the better Halo games. Buy it!

    The game is clearly the best Halo there is with it being the first created ground up for the XBox One. Graphics 10/10 an I'm a graphics freak and own the best GPU's on PC and on XBox the graphics are excellent. Sound - again awesome but super awesome through stereo headphones.

    Gameplay is excellent and my favourite part. Physics and shooting mechanics are spot on. I like how they have continued to modernise the game. The sound and music is also great and epic.     Personally I have no problem controlling Locke. it is fps so who cares, most of the time you are looking at a UI and a gun.

    Graphics are truly terrible. The gameplay is smooth, but it honestly looks like a 360 game. This isn't opinion, it is fact. Anyone who tells you different is lying to you. I have decent vision and a good tv and the graphics are horrible. And yeah I know that graphics are not everything, but you would expect more from xbox one exclusive flagship title.

    Multiplayer I personally don't care that much for, but warzone is fun. However I predict that it won't last very long. Titanfall was also good multiplayer but look what happened there. I'm sure that people will enjoy the multiplayer.

    I know some still love the series, but I find each new installment more boring than the last. The Halo 5 campaign is the worst yet. It's one of the most linear games I've played, and with no split-screen offering I can forget popcorn and dew with my homie on the couch next to me. The new multiplayer experience is okay... Anyway Halo 5 is an extremely enjoyable game with great dedicated servers 343i have redeemed themselves on this one, gameplay is fun and smooth and at the same time more challenging than previous Halos. The missions themselves are unmemorable, and they're not worthy of a second run-through; although I might give it a shot for the sake of collecting skulls and intel.     The prometheans are doubtlessly the worst enemy type to fight against. It's not that they are difficult to deal with, but rather they provide an unrewarding gameplay experience. 343, can you bring the Flood back?

    Multiplayer is decent, but it no longer possesses that classic Halo feel. 343 Industries had abandoned it for a more fast-paced, Call-of-Duty-esque type of gameplay to attract more casual fans.

    Not worth the $60 price tag. Wait for it to go on sale.    … Expand

    Grandioso juego, grandiosa historia, inmejorable multijugador. Es halo que, al menos yo, queria. El cambiar de equipo constantemente me recuerda a Halo2, donde algunas misiones las haces con el equipo del jefe y otras las haces con el equipo de locke.

    I've played through most of the campaign and multi-player, and I think the game is really good. However, it has some balancing issues with the campaign and the partner AI needs a lot of work. I'm also not crazy about some of the Arena maps, and they have some spawning issues. I'm going to go in more detail in a bit.

    The game, itself, looks amazing and has some of the best gameplay    I've played through most of the campaign and multi-player, and I think the game is really good. However, it has some balancing issues with the campaign and the partner AI needs a lot of work. I'm also not crazy about some of the Arena maps, and they have some spawning issues. I'm going to go in more detail in a bit.

    The game, itself, looks amazing and has some of the best gameplay mechanics that you'll experience in any 1st person shooter. When in the campaign, everything looks so real. Some of the levels look absolutely gorgeous. The cutscenes will absolutely blow you away. I'm not finished with the campaign, so I can't comment on the total quality of the story; but half way through I find myself pushing through to find out what happens next.

    About the issues I had with partner AI and why the campaign needs some rebalancing. You'll feel the re-balancing issue more so on Legendary difficulties. Partner AI rarely ever follow the orders given to them, and they take their merry time getting into position. They also don't have a way to give a command to a specific AI partner. This gets you killed quite often in Legendary mode. You can spend 5 minutes trying to get them to man turrets, or attempt to split the group in half so you can operate 2 warthogs. Sometimes all 3 will go to the same warthog, and sometimes one comes with you and only one will go to the directed warthog. You will feel this on the "Glass" mission, especially when trying to push through to get the skull on the map (it's the only skull that requires the mission be played on "Legendary" difficulty). The lack of coordination makes it even more difficult than it needs to be to try and beat harder difficulties. Moving on to balancing, Legendary difficulty is "stupid" hard. You could unload a couple clips into a regular enemy before they finally fall; not to mention that all enemies seem to aggro to the user character and tend to lay off AI controlled players. They also are ridiculously accurate, and deal a ton of damage. It's so bad, that in areas that require the use of a vehicle you're better off having AI work a turret. If you man the turret, you'll be dead within a few seconds of running into hostiles. You'll be lucky to kill anything. If using the machine gun turret, you have to lay down and hit for a a continuous 5 seconds to take out enemies right above the grunt level. Being they're lax in targeting AI partners, they'll focus on you as the driver and usually hit the vehicle which will shield while you whip around (AI drivers typically drive like they are trying to parallel park every 50 ft). Because of this, co-op may actually be harder on Legendary than single player in some parts. I actually had a Scorpion get blown up 100 ft from the garage I pulled it out of by a knight, a regular mob, and a couple slow shooting anti-vehicle turrets. The turrets and knight took multiple shells to knock out; when I finally got to a checkpoint, I was stuck in the scorpion and was continuously getting it blown up within 5 secs of checkpoint reloading. Barely enough time to abandon ship, and my partner operating the turret usually dies because they don't abandon the vehicle before it explodes. I was dying within a few seconds because they could are ridiculously accurate. If you're flying around and they have a 1/4" of room to hit you on the fly, you best believe they'll get you. There is hardly any type of cover, to make it remotely fair. It's beyond Dark Souls difficulty, and feels cheap at times. They either need to spread the aggro more evenly and make the partner AI as smart as enemy AI, or decrease enemy health/weapon dam/accuracy.

    As for multiplayer, Warzone is awesome. However, there are spawning issues in Arena, and some in Warzone. You often spawn in and immediately get head shot before you can even move. Sometimes you spawn two feet from where you were killed so whomever killed you gets an easy double kill. They need to address that, because that will cause some people to rage quit. It felt like "Battlefront Beta Light" with the spawning. I also am not crazy about some of the maps in Arena, some just look like modern art and are ugly as sin. They're easy to get lost in or turned around in, and with that ugly architecture in some levels it just makes your head hurt. Most of these issues can get fixed in updates, so I'm not going to destroy this game over some pet peeves. If you loved Halo before, you'll love this one. It is improved upon; but it does require some fine tuning.    … Expand

    Very solid game. I've mainly played the single player with a buddy and a little multiplayer arena. One of the best co-op games out there. Would love to see a 4 player version. Very cool levels.

    A huge step up from Halo 4 in both campaign and multiplayer. Graphics look surprisingly good for a Xbox One game.

    The campaign definitely has something for people who follow the lore.
    Multiplayer is more balanced than before. Dedicated servers are freaking awesome

    The most fun I had with a Halo game since Reach.

    Campaign is very criticized but I think it is above average. Great scenery, action packed, cool characters, great variety in missions, etc. The only thing Halo 5 lacks is split screen, but I'm still giving it a 10 because everything else works great. Forge (which has been upgraded heavily) and Big Team    Great Halo experience!
    Back to the roots, fun, yet competitive and great mutliplayer.

    Everything is right from Story MP and design.
    Theirs nothing to hate on Halo 5 and for the ones who do are bad or cant handle the game .

В игре хороший сюжет с отличными сюжетными поворотами, хорошая картинка с великолепным арт и левл-дизайном, самый умный ИИ в серии и ещё много-много геймплейных нововведений. Здесь просторные и продуманные локации, подразумевающие использование скооперированных действий с применением спецвозможностей спартанцев, а так же с напиханным в труднодоступных местах оружием и техникой, которое сильно помогает на данном участке карты. Так же в игре просто прекрасный мультиплеер, лучше я ещё нигде не видел: идеальный баланс и сведение автоприцеливания к минимуму делают своё. Ну и новый режим зона конфикта выше всяких похвал, очень масштабно, очень эффектно, очень круто. Теперь с нетерпением жду следующую часть франшизы и надеюсь, что на третий раз 343 сделают ещё лучше, в 5 раз, того и гляди, reach зппилят свой)… Expand

    Master Chief I will remember you well, but not here. Because here you play as primarily a side kick named Locke, who has the personality of sand paper. This series deserves better. They flopped on the campaign as well as the multiplayer. The layout of the maps are just laughable. I'm selling this game for store credit.

    Halo 5 is a wonderful game and the best Halo online so far for the series. If you enjoyed Halo 2 and 3 for multiplayer you will love this game. The wonderful new Warzone mode reminds me of a mix of classic halo, Unreal 2kl4 and battlefield. Arena Breakout is awesome to, as you have one live ala TF2 Arena mode and old school rainbow six.

    The campaign is not to bad either, but this game    Halo 5 is a wonderful game and the best Halo online so far for the series. If you enjoyed Halo 2 and 3 for multiplayer you will love this game. The wonderful new Warzone mode reminds me of a mix of classic halo, Unreal 2kl4 and battlefield. Arena Breakout is awesome to, as you have one live ala TF2 Arena mode and old school rainbow six.

    All the reviews about this game are very mixed. But the population and fan base to Halo is very different to other fan bases fro other FPS games. All i can say is that you will have allot of fun playing this game and even more with friends.

    Another rushed Halo game. No surprises here, but it's also unfinished. Pitiful number of multiplayer maps, no big team battle, no forge mode. Custom games are pretty much impossible because of this. I'm also not happy with the agenda 343 have. Campaign is just terrible and filled with sjw dribble. The shills are trying really hard to keep the fake reviews up.

    Improved gameplay, much smoother than previous games.
    And the new warzone gamemode is fantastic! And very fast paced, like league of legends meets Halo.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have only played through 10 of 15 missions so far but I am mystified by the reactions I am seeing here.
    SPOILER ALERT:
    The story is both easy to follow and has depth and mystery for those who take the time to think about it. Master Chief has gone rogue because he is receiving mysterious transmissions from someone claiming to be Cortana. He investigates even though it means going AWOL. His loyal team of spartans support his decision with no proof at all--demonstrating their absolute loyalty to his cause. Spartan Lock and his blue team are sent to track them down and bring them in. Master Chief's efforts to find Cortana takes him on a trip across the galaxy to different planetary outposts and even into the middle of a covenant civil war with the elites (why no brutes?). The mysterious giant guardians, Cortana's true intentions, Locke's unquestioning obedience to orders, the return of the Arbiter--there's a ton of story here. It may not all have the nuance that we would want but it smacks of Halo and takes us places we have never been in the games before. The Elite homeworld is truly a sight to behold.
    Point being, 343 Industries did let us down with Master Chief Collection and I haven't even really scratched the surface on Halo 5 multiplayer yet, but if you are on the fence, don't let these critics sway you against buying the game.     Best Halo game so far, as a long-time player. Greater controls, aim on every weapons, spartan customization, online modes, and obviously the campaign are all astonishing. I pre-ordered 2 games in my life, and this was one. One I absolutely don't regret, for I was playing at 12:01 on my Xbox as soon as it came out.

    game is really fun, sharp, fast paced and interesting. very smooth and tight controls. the gameplay tweaks are interesting and take a little to get used to but fun once you do. the campaign is interesting and may require replays if you're not a buff on the lore. multiplayer is smooth and trouble free. love warzone modes. reminds me of a futuristic battlefield game in a way.

    Lets just be real. This game is all about multi-player for most people. I may not be a big multi-player guy but this game is great online. There are lot of game styles and maps to play. The new Warzone is a wild ride. 12 vs 12 how can that not be fun? As I said there is a lot of content to play to cover everyone's personal online style Plus, there a lot of maps and more on the way.

    There are several new features to the way the game plays (e.g. ground pound, REQ) Some may have become popular in other FPS games but, I think Halo 5 takes them an puts a unique and balanced twist on their implementation of these new features. Also, the pace of the game (action wise) in both the campaign and multi-player has picked up quite a bit and they don't waste anytime giving that new faster pace from the moment you start the game.

    Please don't also ignore the fact that they will also be providing a ton of post additional release content in the coming months. More maps and not to forget Forge to build your own maps are on the horizon. In a time where games want to charge $60 for a Season Pass this game will give you that similar extra content for free.

    Finally, don't listen to those giving it a 1 because there is no split screen. They are just sad. They were never fans of Halo to begin with. Everyone new it didn't come with. Most of those giving it a one seem like those bitter old guys who tell you to get off their lawn. With stories of how back in their day they use to walk to uphill both ways in the snow. Sure, mark it down a few points for that if you really miss that option but giving it a 1 and ignoring the fun this game is by itself is disingenuous or you really never played the game and just are whining. I wouldn't want to pass dispersions but maybe they are trying to play it on their PS4 and that is why they are having a bad time.

    I would have given this game a 10 but it looses a little for the campaign being a tad too short. Not short like I am disappointed in the time I had playing but short enough to feel another few hours would have made it solid 10.    … Expand

    - 1 for having no splitscreen and having only 3 blue team missions! This is ridiculous

    The audio quality and visual eye candy are enough to keep me immersed in an otherwise typical Halo gameplay outing. I usually stick to the solo Campaign but the fluidity of Halo 5 may draw me in to the multiplayerverse once I've completed some of my backlog of games. Well done, 343 Industries!

    Graphics are okay, quite a bit of low texture resolution that becomes noticeable on my 60 inch flat screen. But I much prefer the consistent 60 fps compromise. Sound design and music are fantastic. The gameplay is top notch as usual but is more akin to halo 4 than the original trilogy for better or worse.

    The sad truth though is that halo is no longer the perennial shooter of our generation now that bungie has passed the torch. Story DOES matter in a halo game. It might have never been the best or deepest, but it was always gripping and made the player feel like a real super soldier and the only one capable of saving the galaxy and human race from overwhelming odds against the covenant, flood and halo rings. The direction of this new trilogy and galactic threat just does not grip me the same way.

    Once upon a time a new halo game meant a slam dunk 9.3-9.8 and a new king to crown on the fps market. Frankly an 8.5 on metacritic is a slap to the face of the original trilogy and 343 needs to step it up for halo 6. I am a huge fan and I don't mean to sound overly critical as I enjoy the game enough to keep playing but I also know how much better this franchise can be.    … Expand

    Halo 5 has launched, and after playing it for 6 hours, I ensure you it's one of the bast Halo games ever. The multiplayer feels really grate, and I haven't had that much fun since Halo 2. The campaing, while it might not have the best possible ending, it's really epic and breathtaking.

    Overall, it's an excellent game. I think I may have found my new favourite Halo game.

The new gameplay mechanics fit so well, it's hard to imagine them not being there before like hover-jets, dash, and pound. The story is jumpy, but that's kind've a Halo trait. The first Halo literally starts with them making a "random" jump into space and landing next to a Halo. lol "random".
    Multiplayer is flawless, and I mean perfect. From the awesome new gametype including NPC's and bosses to the regular slayer, and the best lone wolf type since Halo 3. SO campaign might score a 8, but the multiplayer is a 12.
    And personally, Locke aside, watching Chief's development under 343 industries is nothing less that moving. We finally see a man. It started in H4, and almost had me tearing up from the beginning. Maybe you have to have been there from the beginning, but when Locke told Chief that Cortana wasn't his problem anymore and it was Locke's, and Chief responded, "Like hell she is," I died.
    And to all 80 something people who literally gave this game a 0, meaning it's literally the worst game in creation in all aspects and there's nothing good at all, go back to your PlayStations and stop searching Halo 5 on Wiki and spouting your hate.    … Expand

Narrow paths winding to a boss battle - over and over again. AI is inconsistent. The best features of the game are online MP, and for someone who doesn't play that alone very often, it's not enough of a plus to justify the steps backward the developers have taken. With no local multiplayer, 80 or 90% of the game's long term value is gone for those who like to play that way. This is not progress.… Expand

    It's not the Halo game that I personally wasn't looking for, but Halo 5 offered great visuals, fun gameplay, and awesome multiplayer at 1080p, 60 fps. Campaign was alright, but I have to wonder why Master Chief only gets 3 missions out of 15. Regardless, the game offers mobility and exploration to discover hidden intels, weapon cache, and better angle to attack from.

    This is my equal favourite Halo (with Halo 2).

    If you love great gunplay, a cool story and the best MP this side of the Infinity....then this game is for you.
    Just be ready to know your lore prior to playing, that is my biggest advice: it's pretty dense from the start.

    10/10 - Would buy it for Warzones alone (it's that good, and great dedicated servers for Aus/NZ).

    After the beta I knew 343 had something going here. Now that I've played Warzone I know for a fact that Halo is in good hands. The smoothness of the game coupled with the "feel" of Halo 2/3 makes for an unbelievably awesome gaming experience. And as for the story? Even half baked its 10x stronger than what Destiny put out on day 1. Those cinematics though, totally stunning.

It's one of my favourite halos yet, the stores awesome with none stop action and it leads to what could be the most intense halo ever but the end is amazing as a standalone story. the graphics are great at showing the next gen power. The weapons look and feel great especially with 60 fps which never drops. The only thing that I wished had been different was our time with chief I wish he was featured more in the game along with blue team but never the less I love this game online is great and working they way it should war zone is great if your looking for an outstanding first person shooter with a great story definitely pick up this game… Expand

Arena is fun, and even more fun with friends, especially breakout, which is the new elimination mode, where you either wipe out the entire enemy team to win a round, or you take the flag and bring it to the other side of the map, similar to Capture the Flag. I found myself having a wonderful time in the multiplayer.

    Now, warzone is the most hyped mode for what it promised, which was the cross between PvE and PvP on a huge map with you being able to purchase weapons, armor abilities, and huge vehicles ranging from the scorpion tank, the mantis or a banshee.

    Though it is unfortunate that there is only one map for Warzone, that is expected since it's such a huge map. Even though there's only one, you still have loads of fun.

    So from the disappointing campaign, to the spot on Arena mode, to the excellent Warzone mode, to the combat system and visuals, Halo 5: Guardians gets a 8/10 from me.    … Expand

    I do not understand how some people give the game 0s. I think some of them did not even play the game, as some of them only mention generic cons which have been presented in reviews on youtube.

    To compensate for the haters I am going to give this game a 10.

    The best multiplayer since Halo 2 and a solid campaign that is super fluid and fun. Never did I think 343 had it in them to return the game to its former glory but they have.

    Lives up to the Halo name, Story might be bit difficulty to understand at first but its not bad. The game play is great and it looks beautiful, really beautiful, one of best looking games I have seen ever.

    The game is awesome and graphics are wonderful, but seriously, no guests online? I can understand no local offline split screen.. but no guests online for coop or multiplayer is just wrong. Now I can't even play Halo with my girlfriend and she was just as excited to get this game as I was! On the plus side, at least Warzone is a lot of fun and the weapons seem pretty well balanced so far.The game is awesome and graphics are wonderful, but seriously, no guests online?     Halo 5 is what any Halo fan will need this winter. I'll split up my review in 2 parts.

    I really liked what they did with both teams and the fact that Osiris is looking for Chief was interesting.
    The only sour note, is we don't see as much of masterchief. Locke is taking much space, but I quickly come to like
    his character. I would have liked more missions with Masterchief. Also, note that the campaign is short, but legendary mode
    is super difficult. So if you're like me and want to enjoy the story without getting too much trouble, play on normal. Give it
    a second hardcore pass on legendary to make sure you satisfy your needs afterward. I won't give any spoilers, but the ending
    will give alot of avenues to explore on Halo 6.

    Multiplayer

    What a surprise. After Halo 4 and MCC, I wasn't looking for something great to be honest. Halo 4 had too many power weapons
    and I really didn't appreciate the multiplayer experience in a whole. Anyone who has bought MCC knows that it was broken for
    a long time after the release. Halo 5 however is a gem. The gameplay is so smooth. It plays very well. They purified the
    weapons (there's some power weapon left, but they take less space then in Halo 4). The navigation will seems complexe at the
    beginning, but as soon you play a few time, it will come second nature and really enjoyable. The ranks are giving a competitive¸
    side I had never seen before on a Halo game. I must say, being placed in a league after 10 games is better then a simple number
    next to your name. Your rank will go up really fast when you win. The maps are beautiful and really fun to play in. But there's
    a mode that will take alot of your time once you'll buy the game; Warzone. This mode is just addictive.
    You play against NPC and players alike while you must complete objectives on both side. I don't want to take much time explaining
    it, but it is really, really, really incredible.

    Overall, the game is a success. It does change course from other Halo games, but I don't mind at all. It will be a nice winter,

    This is the best Halo for me! Amazing gameplay, great story and new characters, Huge and strategic scenarios. Warzone is a blast, Arena is much better than in Halo 4 and even Req. Packs are good!! 343i did a superb job and I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

    Halo 5 is at the lower end of the series for me while the new welcome of war zone is a fun addition and arena is classic halo at it's best. What brings it down for me is the campaign (I don't mind the fact that we spend 80% of the game controlling him it's that it feels really short and it never gives much insite to why so fourth is happening never less I'm really looking forward to halo 6.

    Absolutely amazing!! Yes im a massive halo fan have been since the CE but this halo feels fresh. It takes all the right steps forward with new mechanics and graphics. I should give this a 10 to xounter the people giving 0s. Serious wtf no game gets a 0 grop up. But im giving a 9 the only place it drops the ball is no split screen and i would of liked to play chief a bit more.

    Well, I've waited a long time for this game. The campaign is indeed not quite as good as previous halo games. So, I'm giving this a 10 to counter all of the pointlessly low 0 scores. Which are guaranteed to happen with halo. The multiplayer is the best since halo 3. Absolutely phenomenal, balanced. Competitive. We back.

The game looks fantastic, the story was a huge step up from Halo 4's (which I personally barely remember), and overall it's just fantastic. New weapons, new designs for returning weapons, as well as some alterations to a weapon's core mechanics to make them better. Case in point, the Suppressor's shots now lock on at close range. This is especially helpful against Prometheans, as it tends to target the weak points on their shoulders, chest, or back, depending on if you come at them head on or flank them.

    Multiplayer is a blast too. With all the new mechanics and no more custom classes for default Slayer, it's a solid blend of old and new Slayer. The maps are considerably varied and fun, the requisition system adds an interesting twist to leveling up and earning new items. Yes, there are microtransactions for a couple dollars to buy silver and gold requisition packs, but the only items you can get from this affect Warzone, not Slayer, so you don't have to worry about Slayer becoming Pay-to-Win. Hell, it's barely even Pay-to-Win for Warzone, because you can easily rack up enough requisition points for a gold pack just by playing the game, so it's really only there for the lazy or impatient. The only items received in requisition packs that can be used in Slayer are customization options and experience/requisition point boosts. Everything else - weapons, vehicles, and power-ups - affect Warzone only.

    The sound design is solid, every shot feels and sounds powerful, and the characters are phenomenal, too. The campaign focuses primarily on Spartan Locke Fireteam Osiris as they track down Chief and Blue Team, and only play as Chief and Blue Team for three missions, but I enjoyed Locke and Osiris so much that I don't even care. As much as I love Chief, it was nice to have a different lead protagonist in a main Halo game. The added mechanic of being able to direct troops was nice, too. I could draw the fire of an armored target, such as a Hunter, and maneuver it between myself and my fireteam, then order them to open fire and shred its vulnerable back. Or focus on a target that has me pinned down and I can't get a clear shot on. It allowed me to be more clever in my tactics rather than just blast everything and huck a few grenades for good measure.

    All in all, 10/10. I absolutely love this game, and I'm extremely excited for the sixth installment in a few years. Good thing I've got a solid multiplayer experience to keep me occupied until then.    … Expand

    343 should be very proud of themselves, easily the best multiplayer experience that I have played this gen, the beta clearly paid off, as it is running like a dream online :)

    currently doing a solo legendary campaign so far, I am hooked.

    Fantastic entry for the Halo series. The campaign is something you can really bite your teeth into and get behind. The two perspective of Fireteam Osiris and Blue team make for compelling story telling which piece's the plot together nicely. The multiplayer is a hoot as always; absolutely mental, chaotic and fun simultaneously. Would recommend, nice job 343.

    Gameplay is top stuff. In the campaign, you always have a squad with you. They work really well, but as with all AI, something may go wrong - 99% of the time though, they work just fine. Being able to give them orders is also very helpful - you can make them pick up power weapons, use vehicles, hold a position and more. In terms of multiplayer the gameplay is very well balanced - all the weapons are useful. The more lethal guns are trickier to use, so it is a game that rewards skill. Learn these weapons well, and you can really do some damage. Also, the matches are always close, with teams only 5-10 kills apart, so every match is intense.

    The campaign experience is superb - if you know about the lore. If not, it will be a bit confusing. Good level design, good story, good gameplay - this is an excellent campaign. I would consider taking off a half point MAYBE for the fact the story might need a touch of familiarity with the lore. It is still none the less, a very entertaining campaign, and the vast majority of the story makes sense, with or without the knowledge of the lore.

    Warzone is just amazing. That's all there is to it. 12v12vAI. Earning req packs to customise your spartan and get cool gear for the warzone mode. Warthogs and ghosts and wraiths and scorpions and everything just going hell for leather killing each other. An absolute masterclass of how multiplayer should be done.

    Halo 5: Guardians is okay. Its campaign is rubbish, but the multiplayer is solid thanks to the foundation it’s built upon. Warzone is a really enjoyable experience, and while combat is still mostly about tossing grenades and hitting the melee button, the whole Requisition gimmick adds some much-needed flavor to proceedings.

    The latest Halo is a big deal only for hardcore Halo fans. For me the single player campaign was unbearably pompous and despite 1080p and 60 fps the visuals are not as breathtaking as they once were in Halo 4. The game builds a solid foundation for Halo 6, but it’s not one of those games you absolutely have to play. [13/2015, p.48]

    With a more accessible and engaging story and solid new designs for the Prometheans, Halo 5 is a major improvement over Halo 4. Warzone is a great addition to the multiplayer, though the mode seems to have some game balance issues. [Nov 2015]
