    Great story, improved combat and some atmospheric locations were the best thing about this game for me.
    What let it down was that some locations were rather barren, and most locations were bereft of life. If they had added birds, insects, more atmospheric dust effects and so on, the areas would've felt much more real and the game would've been much better.

    Nothing too special about this game. Played the full campaign, played the dlc, played multiplayer mode, and I felt bored the entire time while I was playing the game.

Lo que no me gustó fue la histora, pienso que esta mal estructurada, los personajes no muestran un desarrollo en la trama. El argumento es bajo y sin lógica en comparación a las 3 primeras entregas del Gears of war.

    El multijugador está bien y a 60 FPS en XONE y en XSeries X a 120 FPS hace una agradable experiencia y el modo Horda mejoró en comparación al desastre de Gears of war 4.

    Espero que The Coalition en sus proximas secuelas mejoren la coerencia y diseño del modo campaña y si presentan nuevos personajes principales no creen el estereotipo de empoderamiento. haciendo al personaje predecible aburrido y antipatico.    … Expand

    Pasando de las secundarias del open world te encuentras con unos de los mejores juegos de accion de la ultima decada,muy superior a anteriores entregas.
    No dejeis de probar el dlc,esta a otro nivel.

The graphics are gorgeous and more important the gameplay is even better than before, from fluid movements over the even more responsive cover system to the overvault Weapons (+the new ones).     Un juego que si no es mejor que el 2 y 3, supo adaptarse a la generación implementando diversos mapas y tipos de ecosistemas para dar una experiencia distinta a lo que estábamos acostumbrados, la idea de que marcus, baird y cole cada vez pierden más protagonismo me pone algo triste pero supongo así son lo cambios y ojalá logren adaptar gears 6 a lo que nos tenían acostumbrado Epic Games.

    Campaign is a bit rubbish. The characters don't really get any complete or resonant arcs. The story is literally an entire games worth of fetch quests. The only meaningful story beat doesn't even get time to breathe.
    Repetitive gameplay. It's a relatively fun action game but truly a 360 era game. I liked that the open world was short and sweet, but they're all go here and do    Good visuals.

    It's more Gears which you already know if it is for you or not. Decent enough title but for me, just too much more of the same and the open world sections only served to pad out the play time whilst adding nothing to the genre. Gunplay is great as always and the graphics are top notch.

    This franchise is great, the best of my childhood was spent with this game and I don't regret it at all. Music, story, atmosphere, characters, relationships between them are great. I just hope that gears 2 and 3 will be remastered one day

    Great game. Graphics is AWESOME. One of the best I have seen on XSX! Game ishighly playable and enjoyable as well. However, after 3rd act is quite repetetive. Other pros: you can play with your friends online or locally. BUY IT!

Came back a few months later to finish it after being spoiled by some **** on the internet and.. yep I see why I put it down for so long. The graphics are the best part of this game easily, but I think I still prefer Gears 4’s aesthetic compared to 5.I really wanted to like this game, I truly did. But when most enemies are bullet sponges, you just kinda brainlessly shoot until they explode. Really not engaging gameplay here guys. The story is ok I guess? I feel like I need to play the trilogy still to get some of the deeper plot here but I don’t think that would help at this point lol. Kait’s story is interesting, but as a character I just don’t find her that interesting. Same with the rest of the cast honestly, aside from Marcus obviously. When he told Fahz to stfu, that was probably the best part of the game. Overall, I just really didn’t have fun with this entry. I don’t think I’d ever play it again honestly.… Expand

What makes a good game good is the story and its feeling in the style it represents, however in this game it is more shown that the game is great for its graphics and people don't seem to see the story doesn't really represent what it was made to be as, to show how the art of war is like (though yes this is typically war in gears 4 and 5 keep reading forward to see what I mean). They made the enemy come back with no explanations of how they came back and simply did what the original games NEVER did, shared secrets and made the story about just 1 person, also what are the odds that the grand daughter of the locust queen is with the son of the person that ended the war. It makes me sad to see the gears franchise to be changed when the ending it originally had was perfect. I've played the gears series ever since I was a child and never had criticized the games, so I'm hoping that this franchise will have a turn around and is ended where it should be ended this time.… Expand

    Gears 5 was better than I thought it would be. Different protagonist for most of the game but with a really good backstory. JD was a different man and way better than he was in part 4 as a character.

    So I really liked the game for awhile, but once they took away the ability to play with a squad of 5 the game was ruined. I don’t understand why a game would be against friends playing together. This game is the reason I’m getting a PS5 and not a new Xbox.

I wish the team behind Gears 5 learned from Doom 2016 and Doom Eternals success though. I want to play as a badass man slaying hordes of demons, with hyper masculine themes, rocking out to killer tunes, not the touchy feely airy-fairy focusWelp even Gears 5 went woke!     Gears 5 was honestly a surprise for me, while the story this time around isn't that interesting, the gameplay mechanics are arguably the best in the series, the game feels very smooth to play, and the new additional mechanics are good.

    It also includes two very open areas which you can explore in order to unlock new abilities or learn more things about the world.     Lastly, the game takes a while to pick up, the pacing is sometimes weak and the desert area drags quite a lot, but in the end it's definitely a worthwhile experience.

    As for the multiplayer, it works well, there's a decent amount of game modes to choose from, and there are many customization options.

    "Weird" game, being the first game in the Gears franchise, I can say that I hated it, maybe because of personal opinions, I didn't like the gameplay of the game, unfortunately I couldn't finish it, because I found it extremely repetitive and boring, you walk more than you play, Multiplayer today, in 2022, is dead, there are hardly any matches, anyway, it deserves a red note (at least for me).

Non of the characters are likeable especially Kait who is painfully annoying. She always makes everything about here and her disregard for authority with 0 consequences gets on my nerves. In gears 1 Marcus was sentenced to i think life in prison i cant remember the exact number but it was really long. In gears judgement baird and his squad were nearly sentenced to death. Kait they just yell at her at most and she ignores them and life goes on like nothing happened its so forced and irritating.… Expand

    Melhor Gears que joguei. A Kait simplesemente perfeita como protagonista e o fato do JD estar fora do jogo pela maior parte do tempo é um ótimo ponto positivo. Fahz e Kait formaram uma ótima dupla. Sem contar o cenário principal ser na neve e depois no deserto, achei fenomenal. DIficuldade equilibrada para difícil.     Been playing the Gears of War series since 2006. Playing this one made me feel just as good as the first one. There are a lot of new co-op game-play elements that make you want to play it again and again. Also the new online modes are amazing.

    since last gen i had playstation 4, i could only recover gears 5 now with xbox series x. what can I say, one of the best games of the last gen. a true masterpiece. especially the plot took me a lot. absolutely recommend

    way more interesting story the Gears of war 4, and alot of new fun and good ideas added to the campaign, this review is only about the campaign, but so far they improved alot but the game could have been so much more, they are definatly going to the right direction with the campaign

    Good combat, good story, pretty bland open world snow and desert section but was fun using the sled to travel. Haven't played the other Gears of war games so not too invested in the story but it was decent enough. A large variety of enemies and satisfying weapons kept the game quite interesting. Also missions felt quite distinct from each other, which is a big plus.     Para mim esse é o segundo melhor gears, história fantástica, gráficos lindos, gameplay maravilhosa. Só fica em segundo porque o felling de jogar gears of war 2 foi o melhor pra mim, mas gears 5 é fantástico não erra em nada.

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
