    The best Gears of war game since Gears 2. Stunning graphics, great variety in gameplay, and pretty interesting story with great stakes. On X it runs at a delicious 60fps even in campaign. This is really the evolution Gears needed and the evolution we all wanted to see. Hats off to Coalition and Rod Ferguson.

    Gears is back, and better then never. It's a hole new level. Great mechanics and gameplay, soberb history. The new open areas is a great addiction. Congratulations Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios. Gears 5 is awesome.

    Yes, graphically it is excellent, but everything else is terrible. Characters do not cause any sympathy. They are not consistent, flat and boring. You cannot create a drama if a player does not give a damn about its participants.

    Too many one-shots out of nowhere and too little enemy variety. There are a lot of enemies who are almost not dangerous, but require a long and tedious shooting at one point on their ass or somewhere else.
    Constant babysitting with ai companions, plus one-shots, plus checkpoints, plus boring shooting at large enemies at one point and you get at times the most incredibly hellishly boring repetitive gameplay.
    Open arenas are pointless timewasters.
    And oh god, hire good writers please.
     What is this miserable cliched “Luke I'm Your Father” plot? You destroy plot potentials for locusts! They could have had a centuries-old history, and now they have nothing.
    And, I laughed to the pain in my stomach over the choice that you suddenly give me. I see what you did here. You collect statistics and try to understand whether it is possible to bury old gears or fans are not yet ready to swallow your pathetic new gears. I'm not on your side on this    … Expand

    I skipped Gears 4 , but this game re-capped it in a great cinematic fashion. This game is breathtaking to look at in 4k HDR in 60fps. It arguably features the most insane visuals ever witnessed on console and possibly PC(depending on your GPU). The game play is more refined than that of the previous Gears or any 3rd person cover shooter and the enemy AI finally has purpose in theI skipped Gears 4 , but this game re-capped it in a great cinematic fashion. This game is breathtaking to look at in 4k HDR in 60fps. It arguably features the most insane visuals ever witnessed on console and possibly PC(depending on your GPU).     The graphics are incredible, even in COOP mode on one 4k TV.
    Playing on my xbox one x on my monitor, its so crisp and fresh.
    Great ideas with semi open world, worried about microtransactions, see how it plays out.

    I've been waiting for a great first party game from Microsoft Game Studios the whole Xbox One life cycle it feels like. With Forza being the only other game worth note Gears 5 is a very welcome surprise. Its beautiful to the eye and to the controller.

    Llevo media campaña aproximadamente de este juego y no he encontrado ni un solo fallo. Jugado en la XBOX One X en televisor de 49 pulgadas y HDR se ve magnifico y con tasa de refresco de 60hz, es un placer jugarlo. Ha valido la pena esperar, se nota que ha sido desarrollado extremando los cuidados. Fuerte candidato a juego del año. Muy recomendado.

    Very cool sequel that feels much more modern and progressive than the overly cautious fourth instalment. The Coalition are really getting the hang of this series. Great graphics and audio must get a special mention ...the game is amazing to behold in 4K HDR.

    I've always been somewhat indifferent to the gears series. I play it because I really enjoy Horde mode.
    So in that regard I would like to just say the new Horde mode is about 10 steps back and 2 steps forward.

    Campaign is genuinely great with a lot of awesome moments and the gameplay is very enjoyable with the variety of weapons. You'd have to tweak the controller settings to get it feeling just right though.

    Graphics on a base xb1 is still very nice, the lighting and especially fighting infected robots with all the sparks and effects adding a chaotic atmosphere. Escape mode sucks, the    Campaign is genuinely great with a lot of awesome moments and the gameplay is very enjoyable with the variety of weapons.     This is a 3rd person shooter that takes places after the events of gears of war 3 and 4.. you get part of the story at the beginning of this game…
    I wasn’t too attached or interested after the intial run down, but still hyped for the gameplay, the tutroal starts, the game is having me look up to determine my input preferences, that alone had me excited for how neat this game was going to be…
    But I just never was blown away…
    The story telling and level design is just so bland.. nothing took my breath away or made me feel like wow, this is what ive been missing all of these years… I do love the weapon variety.. but when it comes down to combat, controls here are so unintuitive that it just constantly pulls you out of the game…
    its okay to have the same control scheme as call of duty… they have it down… I don’t want to hold a buttown down to run, let me just click my stick… the fast reload mechanic makes you take your eye off of the action.. all of the mechanic decisions just makes me feel like Im juggling as Im shooting.
    Throughout this 12 hour campaign yo udo have a little squad with you that changes as the story progresses.. and these members can be controlled by real people locally and online…which is what I highly advise…
    As the ai here is completely useless…
    Dels the type of guy to yell “nows our chance shoot his back!” And not do ****
    Amking these drawnout unfun boss battles even more unfun and frustrating at times as you die over and over…
    Does the boss know where I am Del?
    That’s probably because im the only one of use shooting any bullets.
    Who isn’t useless though is your robot companion jack…
    He sticks with you through the end as youre searching the world to upgrade his abilities that are unlocked as the story progresses…
    back to the mechanics issues though.. shuffling through jacks abilities mid combat or even post or pre combat is unintuitive and feels like a jumbled jumbled mess
    but jack is easily my favorite part of this game…
    Its just a shame that jack is the only incentive to explore though…
    The world and level design here in Gears 5 again is just so bland, so uninteresting and boring…
    there are a couple open world sections of the game where you can go explore a little if youd like.. but again.. nothing about this world made me care to do so…
    another giant issue I had with this games campaign is its awful progression indicators in story…
    don’t dare pause the game and com back to it later, because youl lhave no idea what youre supposed to be doing… Gears 5 does put little markers on the map for you to go to… but I would much prefer they put them on items im supposed to be interacting with instead of running around in circles looking for a switch or door with a footprint or hand print on it… it breaks the flow, takes me out of the world.. its just bad game design…
    And when it comes to performance, Gears 5 is awful on PC..
    I ran into constant crashes and Act 2 made the game completely unplayable.. literally… after searching the internet, ive discovered that this is not an uncommon issue.. updating all of my drivers did fix the crashing issue for me, but the game still stutters when too much is going on on screen.. I missed half of the final cutscene because it was stuck… I had to go to youtube to rewatch the ending.. and wouldn’t you know their cutscene video was lagging too.
    Online here is pretty typical fun third person shooter competitive stuff…
    Entertaining, nothing really wrong with it but nothing here to keep me hooked.. I felt no urge to play after playing for review purposes.. again like the campaign really bland.
    Gears 5 is a good game… But as a flagship exclusive from microsoft… I feel that xbox loyalists deserve better
    Theres nothing here to incentivize a purchase other than the continuation of a beloved franchise…
    And If you are buying to continue the story, I would recommend the xbox version over the pc so you can actually see it all.

    New Gears does a great job of giving you a lot of challenges to take on together all while enjoying the beautiful and colorful landscapes peppered with the oil of drones you devastated and the blood of Locust you've fed some bullets. The plot is interesting enough, and the characters seem to behave very naturally which adds up to the credibility of the world.

    But I simply couldn't enjoy the game because of how it's riddled with bugs and server issues. Every single session we had there were at least two times (often this number could go up to 5-6 times for a 2-hour session) we needed to restart the game because we've stumbled upon a game-breaking bug or the connection was lost.

    I'm going to come back to the game in a month or two to finish the campaign and update the review. But for now, I can't recommend this title to anyone who was planning to enjoy it with a friend.    … Expand

    Multiplayer is okay. Visually is so great and new game modes were a welcomed change. Had many non "gearheads" try it on GamePass and enjoy arcade mode as it's less of a Gnasher fest.

    Search times can be long in Australia so needs a quickmatch mode where it will just put you in any available game no matter what mode it is. Add the ability to filter what you search for like the latest COD modern warfare.

    The micro transactions hysteria has been blown out of proportion. For example nearly everything you can ONLY unlock by playing the game. There are only a couple of cosmetics you can buy which change weekly.

    Pay full price or play it on GamePass you cant go wrong.    … Expand

    Gears is back and xbox exclusives are back.
    After gears of war 4 being a pretty solid game over all, gears 5 blows everything out of the water.
    Graphically, mechanically, and story telling wise. Im glad to say gears 5 is a damn good game.

    Honest to God, I was just about to sell my Xbox, because the PS4 was just too good in itself (not mentioning the Game Pass, which in theory sounds great, but it just makes you have a huge library of unfinished games) - but this saved my console for another month or two. It looks great, it sounds great, it plays great and finally for the xbox one exclusives it has a story as well...

    I’ve been a fan of Gears, but never a die hard Gears head. I open with this a someone who enjoys video games and cools stories and fun game play. This for myself is the best to date. The addition of a cool new companion adds a lot to combat and gameplay throughout your journey. The Level design is top notch as expected from Gears. With the addition of open world Acts and side missions itI’ve been a fan of Gears, but never a die hard Gears head. I open with this a someone who enjoys video games and cools stories and fun game play. This for myself is the best to date.     Gears 5 was poorly advertised, making a big push towards multiplayer. In fact it has one of the best story campaing in years, and the best one in the whole Franchise. Full of memorable and very heartfull moments, with great plot and interesting and developed characters. In Addition you get 3 sepparate Multiplayer games. It has more than enough for everyone and every taste. Absolute proofGears 5 was poorly advertised, making a big push towards multiplayer. When a progression system pushes you hard to not enjoy the game or not make the best play in a match but instead try to achieve a certain tasks in each multiplayer session you have f*cked the multiplayer. When a progression system constantly demands you play as characters you don't like or want to you have f*cked the multiplayer. Also instead of Gears 4s grindy lootbox microtrasaction system they've replaced it with a convoluted microtransaction mess with nothing of value to unlock and with no reasonable or fun way to progress toward unlocking anything. The only way to unlock anything of value will cost you at least an extremely excessive extra $40, and even that content is time limited... absolutely shameful. They clearly marketed this game and redesigned the microtrasaction system to confuse customers and make it difficult for reviewers to warn players all with the main goal to limit outrage during launch. This is unfriendly and unethical behavior. Like with Gears 4 this games player base will die massively as players are left with again a trash progression system that is not centered around FUN and the multiplayer gameplay itself. Under no circumstance should you trust TC and Rod again and buy Gears 6 in the future. Gears of War is now a dead franchise that lies and manipulates you. Its not surprising at all now that they made Gears 5 crossplatform with PC since they basically killed the franchises playerbase with 4s grindy lootbox microtransactions system. But after this I don't know what TC will do to trick players to buy 6. I believe this game just spent the last bit of trust players had with TC and Rod. For me this game was going to decide if I switched to PlayStation for next gen and this game has decided it for me Microsoft is not serious about creating Fun AAA games. Microsoft Xbox is not PlayStation and they are certainly not a Nintendo. Microsoft and TC have taken yet again another stupid pointless approach to gaming that destroys player trust.     Excellent game, I have completed all the gears and this is my second favorite one, but it feels new in all the ways, 10/10 and I have Ps4 PRO, Xbox one X, Switch, PC Gamer and all retro consoles, not a fanboy, just honest about the game!

    Great campaign! It is a great evolution from the previous entries. Combat is more tense, specially playing in Experienced difficulty, but at the same time is more fun since you have more abilities to play with. Narrative is awesome, music and scenery just nailed it. A must play for any Gears fan.

I was pleasantly surprised at how the campaign evolved the story while adding in RPG Elements, Stealth moments, and a Semi-open - World with Side missions. O robô Jack trás ainda mais profundidade a jogabilidade com suas habilidades (super escudo, invisibilidade, armadilha de choque,Jogo incrível, de longe o melhor Gears e também um dos melhores jogos da geração. Jogabilidade ainda mais refinada do que seu antecessor, se mostrando mais dinâmica com novos movimentos e elementos de stealth agora com elementos de mundo aberto e exploração. O robô Jack trás ainda mais profundidade a jogabilidade com suas habilidades (super escudo, invisibilidade, armadilha de choque, etc) fazendo com que cada jogador faça o uso destas da forma que desejar criando seu próprio estilo de jogo.
    História mais profunda, prende o jogador do início ao fim com vários momentos memoraveis os personagens novos estão ainda mais interessantes do que em Gears of War 4 e os antigos continuam fiéis a suas raizes trazendo ótimos fan services para os fãs de longa data.
    Gráficos espetaculares rodando em 4k/60 no Xbox One X mesmo em trechos de mundo aberto ele se mantém muito bonito e com uma performance estável, de longe um dos jogos mais bonitos dessa geração Parte sonora impecável principalmente se o jogador estiver utilizando Dolby Atmos, efeitos das explosões, tiros, som ambiente, tudo em uma qualidade absurda, recomendo jogar com Headset

    Gears 5 is an outstanding addition to the series. The open acts in the middle of the campaign were a nice change of pace. I look forward to them making the open world aspects a little more lively and interactive in the next games. The multiplayer is also very enjoyable. I've never been a big Gears multiplayer fan but this one might have me hooked.

    Alguns poblemas no lançamento, mas é algo comum para grandes titulos até se estabilizarem.

    A stunning looking game on the Xbox One X, the HDR implementation is jaw dropping. I was never a Gears fan, but I am having a ball playing this. Well done Microsoft XBOX and The Coalition. Keep it up!

Doing this actually was a good thing it gave me time to enjoy the beauty of the game and the fire fights.     Great game multiplayer and escape are fun. The campaign has great story but the bugs glitches get in the way sometimes you might have to select a chapter at some ponit like i did in act 3 but over all this game is contender for game of the year

    Wow. I haven’t been this impressed by a Gears game since Gears of War 1 when it all started. Best game in the serie, best third person gunplay ever, best visuals ever, my personal Game Of The Year and a fantastic new interesting main protagonist and story. Hats off to The Coalition!

Resolveu problemas presentes no gears 4 como um melhor desenvolvimento de personagens , historia mais envolvente que te prende a todo momento e o mundo aberto que agregou bastante . O modo versus continua muito bom e competitivo . O modo horda teve melhoras e os personagens divididos por classe ficou muito bom , alem disso o modo fuga veio pra agregar bastante sendo um modo de jogo divertido e que nao leva muito tempo para ser concluido , principalmente se jogado com amigos . O robo jack é excelente e agrega bastante na variedade de gameplay . Os personagems ficaram mais carismaticos fazendo com que vc se interesse mais por eles , o que era um ponto fraco em gears 4.
    Gears 5 tem capacidade pra ser eleito o melhor da trilogia . Pontos negativos : Os bugs foram bem presentes para alguns jogadores e isso prejudica a gameplay , no meu caso sofri com alguns bugs do dia 6 ate o dia 8 , depois nao tive mais problemas com os bugs Outro ponto negativo sao os bots aliados que apresentam uma Inteligencia artificial bem ruim.

    Gears 5 was a glorious return for the coalition studio. Everything from soundtracks to design and oh my dear God those stunning environments that you've never seen before were just amazing! The game was perfectly baked and I didn't encounter a single bug or glitch in the campaign! Looking forward for more of these good titles from Microsoft studios.

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
