    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Graphically, the game is phenomenal. One of tbe best if not the best looking game on the Xbox One X. The gameplay is smooth, the multi-player is fast paced and chaotic. 5 player Hoard with matchmaking is super fun. It's clear the Coalition listened and has taken everything the community loved about prior Gears games, expanding on it to make it better all around.

    Fighting along side the old Gears, Marcus, Cole, Clayton Carmine was an absolutely amazing experience. This game definitely deserves a 10/10. After that cliffhanger ending with Kait, I can't wait for Gears 6!    … Expand

    Story/Campaign- Best campaign in the entire series.
    Graphics/Visuals - Dynamic 4K 60fps on the Xbox One X the game is well versed and looks awesome in every locale it brings you to.
    Multiplayer - Escape is a new addition presents a challenge the more the higher you set the difficulty. Horde is better with Jack and Finally Vs mode is balanced you don't need to rely on Gnasher and if you are afraid to the shotgun play arcade mode.

    Gears 5 launched with a ton of content with modes for everyone. The game is very accessible well worth $60 to own and even a bigger value being apart of the $10/15 Game pass subscription on Console and PC you can also get it on steam. Gears 5 isn’t a game that sits in your backlog it is a reason you will accumulate a backlog.

    Other than the day one bugs and server issues this is hands down the best Gears since 2 and 3. The open world elements are kind of bare and there’s nothing really unique about it other than optional side quests which that too are bare for the most part. Act 2 is definitely stronger in its open world than Act 3. Horde is a lot more fun after a few major updates which is good to see There are microtransactions but new content becomes free after a week of release. Honestly wish they’d just make it all free or make multiplayer free to play. MTX are cosmetic only. This game deserves a GOTY nomination.     Inizio dicendo che sono un fan sfegatato della saga. ho giocato tutti i capitoli e sto finendo di leggere i libri.

    Partiamo parlando della sceneggiatura: il gioco parte come un classico gears ed è diviso in solamente IV atti, a mio giudizio troppo pochi per poter dare molta trama anche nel caso fossero lunghissimi. A peggiorare questo aspetto c'è l'elemento open world, tanto acclamato e presentato come "rivoluzionario". Chi pensa che questo elemento sia degno di plauso è evidente che non ha visto il video "L'open world è una cosa bella" di Croix89, in quanto Gears NON è mai stato inteso come open world! Essendo un gioco che si basava sullo sviluppare la trama in capitoli ben distinti in aree diverse, questo elemento sarebbe risultato troppo dispersivo, cosa che è accaduta in questo capitolo.
    Il gioco ha ritmi troppo irregolari, inizialmente frenetico all'inizio, calmo nelle zone open world e poi un capitolo finale che sembra da fare in 5 minuti, con sparatorie ed esplosioni che manco Michael Bay; tutto per arrivare ad un finale IDENTICO a quello del 4, ovvero con boss fight senza senso e senza scopo nella trama e con un'inquadratura finale sul personaggio di Kait e sul suo ciondolo,
    sottolineando la poca creatività dimostrata dalla Coalition a differenza di Epic Games.
    P.S. :qualcuno mi deve spiegare com'è possibile che nella cutscene finale NESSUNO si chieda dov'è Clayton, personaggio amato da tutti sin dal 3o capitolo e che ha combattuto nella boss fight finale insieme agli altri gears. È impensabile che nessuno si chieda dov'è il proprio commilitone dopo una scena simile.
    P.P.S: L'unico personaggio femminile realmente interessante presentato nel nuovo gioco si chiamava Lizzie...morta nel primo atto....non aggiungo altro.

    TRAMA:
    Di trama ce n'è TROPPO POCA. Si scopre solo che Kait è la nipote di Myrrah (cosa ovvia annunciata nel 4), Che Myrrah e le locuste sono figli di esperimenti (in un luogo già visto in gears 1), che Reyna è la nuova regina, che JD sia figlio di strani esperimenti (solo dialoghi, niente di spiegato se non nei collezionabili) e che JD o Del muoia. FINE. Non si scopre null'altro di significante o di interessante.
    E il problema maggiore è che queste scene si vedono solo nei momenti in cui Gears 5 si ricorda di essere un GEARS ovvero mantenendo la modalità di sceneggiatura dei vecchi capitoli e non in quegli insulsi livelli open world.

    LIVELLI OPEN WORLD:
    i due capitoli open world sono dispersivi ed insignificanti per la trama. Si tratta di due missioni circa utili ma che impiegano un sacco di tempo; tempo che poteva essere gestito MOLTO meglio con quest che arricchiscano la lore.
    La seconda zona è un reskin in versione rossa della prima e in TUTTO il gioco ci sono circa 7 MISSIONI SECONDARIE. SETTE. Che non danno, come dicevo, nessun tipo di approfondimento di trama se non una, quella nella zona innevata riguardante i due arenati (che ora si chiamano estranei per ragioni a noi sconosciute) scappati dall'accampamento di Oscar.

    ARMI: SONO POCHE! TROPPO POCHE!. In questo capitolo hanno tolto circa metà delle armi presenti nel roaster completo della saga aggiungendo solamente: CLAW. L'arma più insulsa mai pensata, pure peggio dell'Hammerburst nel primo capitolo, La Talon: un reskin della Gorgon, La mazza Breaker carina ma nulla di più, e il GL: unica arma degna di nota e con un senso. Per il resto nessun'arma nuova, deludente.

    PERSONAGGI:
    Kait: partita come simpatica nel 4, ora è una edgy-teen che no fa altro che ricordare che lei ha problemi, che soffre e che è la protagonista. Decisamente poco carismatica (come un po' tutta la nuova squadra Delta) rispetto al vecchio leader Marcus.
    JD: presentato come protagonista del 4, ora ha subito ferite e viene trattato da str.... da tutti. Si riprende un po' a metà gioco. Ne male ne bene.
    Fahz: partito come personaggio veramente orribile devo dire che migliora parecchio e dà un tocco di menefreghismo e sfacciataggine buono nella squadra.
    Del: decisamente carismatico e un po' sapientino, in ottimo contrasto con Fahz. È stato un peccato ucciderlo.
    Marcus: pressoché inutile se non per dare consigli a Kait e Del nelle fasi iniziali.
    Baird: ha mantenuto il suo fascino e carattere; buono.
    Paduk: ritorno inaspettato e gradevole, ha mantenuto il suo atteggiamento menefreghista e anti COG.
    Jinn: ah era nel gioco? forse un paio di minuti, ma che ruolo vuoi mai pretendere dal capo dei COG?

    GAMEPLAY: invariato e buono come ogni gears deve mostrare, nulla da dire tranne sul fatto che la motosega sia sul tasto di ricarica, molto scomodo.

    Per concludere vorrei dire che pretendevo molto di più da questo gioco e ringrazio il cielo di non averlo pagato 70€ perché stando a quanto visto, non li merita assolutamente.    … Expand

It's multiplayer PvP has been made much more self centered with the common trend of monthly challenges encouraging kill stealing . Escape mode is initially fun however it proves to be little fun after multiple plays . Horde has ditched the amazing horde lite version meaning you need toGears 5 is certainly a good game however it lacks many reasons to resume playing after initial plays . It uses open map's for the campaign however it seems to have minimal detail and looks all too similar
    Overall it's a good experience and fun to play but simply lacks any draw to continue playing

The story mode I spending half the time driving looking for stupid things, I just want to play, not forced into hunting for items. The Hive mode is awful, beast mode from Gears 3 would have been a better choice.. Now it is going to full of BS micro transactions and when you used the word "fortnite" to compare parts of this game , it absolutely turned me away. i know the hook is find kids who have parents, or their own, credit cards and get them to spend hundreds of dollars on your trash but some of us realize when you are only going after the money and don't care about the quality of the game.. You are like getting a frozen yogurt when I wanted ice cream.. Be ice cream or be nothing..ZERO stars!!… Expand

    this video game was beautiful. the game design very nice and well managed to make you immerse in various situations. the very beautiful story, however, presents some moments of death. precisely for this small defect the game does not take 100 but I very willingly give it a 90.

    A very solid game that fullfills everything the Fanbase wantet from a new installment! Very deep and well put Story, best generation graphics ever seen on a Platform and the beloved and solid gameplay that gears is known for but with more fine tuning behind it to make it even more fluid an buttery smooth when playing!

    A truly engrossing campaign and gorgeous graphics make this a must-buy for fans of the Gears franchise. The only thing keeping it from a 10/10 are the constant issues with online connectivity, particularly when the developers offer time-sensitive XP boosts that are wasted due to disconnections and server problems that can last for hours.

    Que dire à part que j’adore ! L’histoire est génial et suis les précédents opus, la musique est sublime ! Le mode horde est moins bien que le 4 mais tout de même bien ! Concernant le reste du multijoueur on reste sur du bon classique !

    Campaign: is amazing, Coop or Single player the game delivers, and bring new characters enemies and a lot more.
    Online: not the best, gears of war 4 is better than this so far, but it can still improve a lot.

No hay juego de accion que le llegue a los tobillos en lo mas minimo. Es contundente, salvaje y su jugabilidad y control perfecta.     Apartado visual increible, historia entretenida y variada, el multijugador es disfrutable en ciertos aspectos aunque en varios otros falla como calibración de algunas armas, la banda sonora es muy buena y es muy notable la mejora de animaciones y movimientos, simplemente es un buen juego para pasar un buen rato

    Quizas el videojuego que mejor explota a esta generacion de consolas, con eso esta todo dicho. Buenos graficos, buena jugabilidad, buen surtido de armas, recursos bastante justos e incluso a veces escasos provocando mayor dificultad. Quizas lo mas decepcionante el boss final, para mi gusto demasiado sencillo comparado con los del resto del juego. Muy recomendable.

    Fan de gears 5, je trouve tous les modes de jeu réussis. La campagne m'a beaucoup plus notamment par le lien qu'elle fait avec des éléments de la première trilogie.

    O melhor da série pra mim. Grandiosos momentos da história, jogo leve e bem otimizado. Só senti falta de um mapa um pouco maior e mais locais para explorar, mas para um jogo que saiu do linear para um mapa quase aberto, ja está ótimo.

    This game is amazing! The game looks beautiful! The story was wonderful with lots of twists and action that made me want to keep playing it, the combat was so much better and more diverse than gears 4 too! As for the multiplayer side I think they did fantastic. Escape is nice but I wish characters where not locked for escape or horde only. The only improvements I would offer: Open up character selection completely for horde/escape. Provide a broader way of earning things (for example beating the campaign on insane or something should unlock something, like maybe a cool skin for kait)… Expand

    After roughly 10 hours I completed the Story and didnt expect such a good campaign. It was different in its gameplay parts, you get a lot of shooting but also more silent parts and for the most important u have a lot of fun with the gameplay/graphics and characters. I would highly recommend this game, also if u just want to play the story. Besides    This is an epic package of Gears.

    Lo único que vale la pena es la campaña al agregar el cuchillo le quitaron la escencia a la saga y lo hicieron en algunos aspectos como Calle of Duty, el multijugador es una mierda los Wallbounce ya no son efectivos y hay autoapuntado que lo facilita mucho las armas yatienen más alcance lo que lo hace aun mas fácil

    After GoW 4 I thought I will never play Gears again,because the series was tired.Gears 5 managed to keep the fun part of the core gameplay and bring in some new elements.It feels familiar,yet new.The linearcampaign levels were changed into some semi open world levels.

    It's just not the same Gears i remember a decade ago. This iteration is bogged down with microtransactions that lock the exciting aspects of the game behind a paywall. Plus the game is a broken mess a half year after it's been out. What a shame.

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

    Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
