This should have been as beautiful and fun as Human Revolution, instead it was a very poor successor! How did they get it so wrong? What the hell happened to Megan Reid? I remember Jensen saying that 'this is not over' to her near the end of human revolution? Here is my review by numbers: -

    Just bland and rubbish!

This game is great until the glitches start happening at the worst moments, like trying to hack a drone before it spots you. I give this game 6/10 because I know it tried. But it's so graphically inconsistent I don't know how to diatribe it. Oh and the pedestrians repeat their same lines. Have fun doing something next to one for 5 minutes. Expand

But Mankind Divided is a full realization of their vision for a new Deus Ex and it really shines overall. The gameplay and atmosphere are some of the best I've encountered this year. It all really fits into this world they built and nothing is out of place. They somehow managed to make the quest for information a main focus in the game and it's so fun to explore for laptops to hack and to find random bits of info on the enemy you just knocked the F out. You really feel like an augmented detective/assassin and just learning how to operate within the confines of the game world is a real pleasure.

While you DON'T have to take the stealth route, some of the levels are extremely hard if you try to shoot it out with everyone. The enemy AI is hit and miss but they're smart with grenades and generally overwhelm you with numbers. Plus the stealth augmentations are just plain cool and turning on your stealth field to get the jump on someone and taking them down with the one hitter quitter NEVER EVER gets old.

In conclusion this is the best shooter RPG game I've played since Fallout 4 took over my gaming life and if you enjoy that type of game Deus Ex provides a really fresh take on the genre. It's like stepping into the Matrix universe (the good one, not garbage Zion) and kicking ass and taking names while uncovering crazy conspiracy plot lines. Great Xbox One game.

Nothing was fun and there is so much forced replay it is insulting. There is one level of this game lifted right out of Assassin's Creed. The game is a grind and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't wring out any fun from it. Notice that I played through it twice so I gave it every opportunity to win me over but it just didn't happen. Very sad and very disappointing. Human Revolution was really fun to play and a lot longer game but never got boring or repetitive but this game is no where near as good. What a heart breaker. Expand

Fun game mechanics, nice setting, but the story is full of logic leaps, the animations are dated and the characters are underwhelming. Feels like a big expansion pack to DE:HR rather than a sequel.

Basically, if I thought the previous game was an 8 or above, more of the same would be a good thing; if the original I though was a 7, more of the same is not enough.

    Cons:
Although they added a few new augs, none of them add anything to the experience and are basically redundant, but hey, they can say there are new augs.
Melee gameplay is still a subpar experience...the devs want you to play stealth,
World is very small and yet loading times are pathetically long especially when you take the subway....same people always there, doing the exact same things.....and worse when you have to walk it....very, very lazy.
Much of the story goes absolutely nowhere...almost like they were setting up DLC.....in a story this short that is disgraceful.

Mankind Divided is a first person shooter slash stealth game that takes place 2 years after human revolution…
If you haven’t played that game there is a recap video, but honestly human revolution is the much better game, so I’d recommend playing it first either way
Very early in the game there’s a terrorist bombing.. You spend the rest of the game trying to get to the bottom of this and prevent future terror attacks…
To bring peace to the division of augs and naturals
this bombing though messes with your gear...
You go get it fixed and it’s discovered that you’ve had more cool gadgets under the hood that you didn’t know about…
These new added abilities are awesome, but they come at a price...
Too many active will cause over heating, so you have to pick and choose... activate 1 and deactivate another... and much like every other ability and upgrade in the game you have to spend praxis points which are awarded by leveling up in game or by straight up buying…
The microtransactions are buried, but there for those that want to max Jensen out early on…
This is still Deus Ex… theres 17 main story missions and 12 side missions…
The main story alone takes about 8 hours to complete… And while I personally found the story here much more intriguing than human revolution… The gameplay overall is miles worse...
There is absolutely no depth here that made human revolution such a magic experience...
    The world here isn’t alive…
Dialog choices seem to hold no weight, and the worst offense of all is that all sense of freedom from the past game has been removed…
I’m a very aggressive player... and while yes, you can definitely play this game like a first person shooter…
The game is almost designed completely against you…
This time around instead of levels being designed for drop of a dime change of plan like getting detected.. It clearly wants you to try your hardest to sneak around…
This is apparent with how quickly your energy drains when you use a perk…
Your awesome new armor, or going invisible, lasts for a good half a second before your energy runs out... and theres hardly any biocells laying around or crafting parts to make one on the fly.. Making the system feel nearly useless for anything other than take downs…
The game wants you crawling through vents instead of using all of the cool toys…
There are also so many road blocks here that didn’t exist at all in the past game…
In human revolution you could beat the entire game with only level 1 hacking as the game kept the hacking of story related doors simple…
Here, they force you to pour your upgrades into hacking with level 2 and 3 locked doors after locked doors…
Almost in a way encouraging those micro transactions for more skill points to pour there if you’ve ignored it, or to pour them into skills that actually compliment your playstyle…
There’s also really no cool open areas…
The game from start to finish feels like you’re walking around hotels… going from room to room…
There is no attention to detail here…
At least not up to the standard other deus ex games have created…
This feels almost like ubisoft annual spin off title than a proper sequel…
The story kept me going, and this is still a good game if you ignore the fact it’s supposed to be a deus ex game…
Deus ex, isn’t hacking and augmented abilities…
It’s a deep and detailed world… which is completely lacking…
A surprise and welcomed addition this time around is a very cool breach mode which acts as a puzzle platformer, where you work with a hacking group to collect data…
You run around using the same skills you do in the main game and also unlocks new skills and weapons as you progress through each increasingly tougher level…
Definitely some brain teasers here and I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would…
It’s almost a bonus game in itself
All in All Mankind Divided is a decent game fans will play and at least mildly enjoy either way... It just doesn’t live up to its series standard and not something I could recommend for anyone that isn’t already a fan…
I give Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    a 7.5/10

That crook Sean Murray should take notes, THIS is how you create and market a game. Everything that was advertised is here and then some! The action sequences are phenomenal and the combat feels perfect whether you're playing the game stealth or going in guns blazing. It's been a terrible last six months for game and Deus Ex has broken the drought!

Great game and worthy of Deus Ex title. In fact I think it is superior to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This stands in several areas: Level design, gameplay, and lore/story.

Level Design: Some of the best yet, and it really built on the original and what Human Revolution did, without recycling old tricks from the previous games. The new Augmentations (Augs) allow for great variety in traversal and how goals are met giving a WIDE array of options for the player in the environment. The single Hub city this time, Prague, is fantastic and feels more alive compared to Detroit or Heng-sha from Human revolution. There are more NPCs to interact with, more areas to explore, and you get access to other areas as the game unfolds and day progress into night. The major mission areas are rife with areas to explore, E-Books to discover, and loot to pick up, which unlike Human Revolution, was NOT a chore to do...it was fun to find new items and areas especially with the crafting system...

Gameplay: The Augs make everything and are the RPG aspect of the game. There are fantastic abilities that can be upgraded and used, and the player options are staggering on par with the Original Deus Ex and other entries in its vein like Dishonored. My first playthrough was totally non lethal and was fun to achieve although a bit challenging. The gunplay is better compared to Human Revolution, and the stealth mechanics are EVEN better then the first one, showing pathing options, Awesome HUD displays, and a level of cyber immersion that is built upon in gameplay and rounded out with lore. Weapon upgrades and crafting is fun to use and keeps you hunting for Scrap Parts, but I did feel weapon special attachments was lacking. The new UI for weapon attachments ala Crysis was fun to use, but without a lot of attachements to me it fell short. Gone are the cooling systems, explosive round upgrades, bullet curving systems, or lead trajectory systems for scoped weapons...ALSO there is no Crossbow, Laser gun, or plasma gun this time!! That was disappointing.

Lore/Story: It's Deus Ex, conspiracies and shadow organizations pulling strings still, you can see the build up to the original Deus Ex occurring. The presence of side missions and how MUCH more interactive they are is fantastic...they are more story based and less "go fetch" quests. The single HUB in some ways limits the overall scope of the Deus Ex story making it a more personal story for Jensen, but it satisfies even if the ending is a little more anti-climatic compared to the original and Human Revolution.

Overall, Fantastic buy!!! I loved every minute of it! Excited for my next playthrough going lethal this time!

The series has been about stealth or combat but this game punishes you for trying stealth. Early in the game it is fine but by the final 3rd it's like the devs want you to use combat. It is a painstakingly slow, brutal process to try to sneak around. Get used to reloading a lot as the AI is able to hear you drop from a ladder through a rainstorm, cars and noise of the city (oh and from a block away). Yes there are vents and a sewer system that you can sneak around in, but - most of them go nowhere or damage you if you try to use them, none of them actually link to anyplace you need to go and almost all of them are behind security because evidently a sewer door is more secure than most peoples' apartments.

Mentioning reloads, the loading screens are long. You'd figure that in this day and age (even with an external drive) that I wouldn't spend more time staring at stupid load screens than playing the game. This isn't rocket science. Stop spending time figuring out how to make the load screens play like a repeating movie and instead focus on getting rid of them altogether.

Mentioned the security systems earlier, let's focus on that. This is a trainwreck. Whoever wrote it doesn't understand percentages. Let's take example 1, a node that says there is a 15% of detection. Doing the math that means that once every 6-7 attempts should trigger detection. In 1 system this triggered for me 8 times in a row. Yes, my luck could be really bad but there are clearly some nodes that always trigger irrelevant of the percentage. Another case occurred with 30% chance. It triggered every time. I had to go around the node to avoid detection. Perhaps the worst situation occurred late in the game with a node that had 0%. Now think about that for a minute. 0% means no chance. It triggered 5 times in a row.

The story itself is typical sci-fi, nothing to write home about. While you have choices in the missions they ultimately have no effect. They change nothing. You're still going to end up the same place as everyone else. I absolutely hate the mission structure in this game. If you don't do X during mission A then you cannot do Y during mission B even though A and B are completely unrelated. Who thought this was a good idea? If you want to get the full experience you pretty much have to play the game with a walkthrough at your side checking everything you do as you go along. Fun.

All in all this is a skippable game in the series. You won't lose anything if you don't play it. Unless you're a combat person who wants everything there is to offer in the series then this is just a waste of time. For me the next game is make or break for the devs. If they focus on what is good about the series, stop making foolish design decisions and make it such that stealth runs aren't painstakingly boring and difficult then I may come back but for now this series is dead to me.

Get this game if you like Cyberpunk.

Graphically, the game plays with his future set-up in the top league even though other comparable games do a little better.

Adam Jensen's new adventure does not play like a Call of Duty, but the control is good after a little practice in the grip. In addition, the cover system fills up well, even if it is not always easy to hit the exact covers, because at least with the gamepad the change is somewhat funny.

Prague is becoming more than believing and interesting. However, the 4 different districts bs affect some quarters somewhat monotonously.
This can not be said of the quests: These are very interesting and have great approaches that are sometimes even better than the mainstory.

On the whole, you can not go wrong with Deus Ex MD if you expect a great rolling game with stealh and fighting elements.
Mid wile it costs at Amazon only about 15 $. That's it!

I hope I could help with the decision!

Although I haven't yet played any of the other entries in the Deus Ex franchise, I picked this up due to it dropping to a ridiculously low price of just £5 from a lot of retailers. Without any high expectations many had from the success of Human Revolution, I found this to be a great game, although one bereft with fault. In this installment you play as Adam Jenson, an augmented human being with various abilities granted by his cyborg body. In a fractured world, people are polarised on the issue of the augmented after an event in the previous game, the incident, drove the augmented to go on a killing spree against their will. Now highly segregated, the augmented live very difficult lives. Playing as Jensen, you attempt to unravel a plot against your kind.
    THE GOOD
    - The aspect I found most enjoyable in Mankind Divided was the vast amount of freedom you are allowed in most gameplay related areas. From choosing to kill or to stun, upgrading Jensen to fit your needs (stealth, invulnerability, hacking, agility, weaponry), and even through conversation, you can play the game how you choose to do so. Personally, I played the game non-lethally and without ever setting off any alarms, with Jensen as a silent and invisible ghost, although in my next playthrough I plan on going on a murderous rampage, upgrading Jensen into a juggernaut. Even some sections of the story can differ according to your actions, with some options only available to you depending on prior choices.
    - Side missions are great, being long enough to contain a decent narrative and offer a break from the regular mission structure.
    - The augments you choose from are varied and all have some use.
    - There are a good number of difficulty settings, with 'I Never Asked For This' being a real challenge that even the best players may struggle with. On the other end of the spectrum, there is a difficulty for people who just want to experience the story.
    - The world and atmosphere is very interesting and highly believable, drawing many parallels between the augmented and refugees in our own world. The story often uses the oppression of the augmented to tell a good narrative, and it can be somewhat complex at times. This makes it all the more painful that the ending is abrupt and lacking in closure.
    - Conversations can be interesting and result in different outcomes depending on what you say.
    - The pre-rendered cutscenes, although quite sparse, are beautiful.
    - Cool designs of characters and architecture.
    THE BAD
    - Facial animations are terrible. Character's mouths rarely line up with what they are saying, and with the rest of the game looking pretty good, this stands out and is very noticeable.
    - I noticed screen tearing and large fps drops, especially while in Prague.
    - As previously mentioned, the ending is terrible and doesn't answer the questions the story has posed throughout the rest of the game.
    - Microtransactions.
    THE BORING
    - Some characters don't get enough time in the spotlight, and thus are very one dimensional. Alex Reid and Miller never develop much of a personality, while others, such as Talos Rucker, are very well written. I'm not sure why there is this inconsistency.
    - Voice acting isn't consistent either, and although some were fine, including your protagonist's, others, such as Miller's, were lifeless.
    - The tacked on multiplayer mode is uninteresting.
    CONCLUSION
    - Mankind Divided succeeds in allowing the player vast amounts of freedom, resulting in further playthroughs being appealing. The futuristic setting is fun to be a part of, with side missions focusing on a smaller scale and letting you get to know everyday citizens better. It's a shame then, that some major characters are never fully developed and that the narrative doesn't properly wrap itself up. Despite the problems with the ending and some technical problems, the latest Deus Ex is still great fun, and a must buy, especially now that it can be bought for so cheap. Even though I know it has it's faults, I still think Mankind Divided deserves a 9 just because of how much fun I had, and how immersed I was in the world. The problems I had with it are minor in comparison to how much I enjoyed, and even though some parts were underdeveloped, most of the story and a good number of characters were interesting.

The story does not respect the decision we took in Human Revolution and it's completely irrelevant for the Deus Ex universe. So this sequel was not necessary. All It did was staining the the name of the Adam Jensen storyline.
The game experience in general is really short. The main story last very little and there're not many side quest to do. In addition, there's not much to explore in the map neither. If only this short experience were at least enjoyable... But it is not.
Adam's ability tree is almost exactly the same to what we saw in the previous game. Thare're just a few new abilities that you can't unlock them all at the same time. So, what supposed to be an improvement was a mistake.
They haven't fixed the problem with the bosses this franchise had. What's more, It's even worse. The game has only one boss and the battle is dull. Fans could not imagine worse bosses to the ones we saw in Human Revolution; but we were wrong.
To sum up: Deus Ex Mankind Revolution is a complete disappointment and not the sequel this saga deserved.

Deus Ex series is for a special kind of gamer, one that is into heavy science fiction, lots of complicated dialog, and one that loves crawling through man-sized vents. I am new to this series the games always eluded my radar one way or another I always managed to just miss them. I will say being missed out on Human Revolution so much of the background to this game made little to no sense. Now they explain it in this 15 minute Spark Notes version of what happened. Yet… somehow with Adam Jensen’s monotone voice describing everything that happened my eyes kind of glossed over and I was day dreaming. Honestly if someone can describe what happened in the first game I’d love it. I digress. Deus Ex Mankind Divided takes place in a world where people are augmented and the normal humans hate the **** out of them. I think is a kick ass concept that hits a bit close to home with all that is happening. You are Adam Jensen an augmented badass who sounds like he smoked 150 packs of cigarettes because someone dared him to. This new terrorist group of augmented people are out there, and they happen to do the terrorist thing of blowing **** up. It is up to Adam Jensen to solve the mystery any way he can. Which leads into some interesting twist and turns, and ends kind of abruptly. I was having fun then boom game winning trophy winner is me.
The game allows you to play three different ways, but only one ever worked for me. You can play completely stealthy saving after every room and meticulously looking for any short-cut you can take. Or you can play balls to the wall killing spree, and pray that the guy you killed has enough bullets so you aren’t completely **** by the next room. Last, which is what I played you can do a mix of both being all sneaky like until you are seen then balls to the wall. The game never punishes you for killing people which is super great because killing is just amazing in video games. I took out almost an entire police station to steal some evidence, and I’m still the hero. Remember kids killing cops is okay only if you really need to steal from them. The leveling up is complicated at first, but makes way more sense as time goes on. The final thing I can say is **** this final boss. They are such a pain in the ass if you are like me and suck ass at stealth. It took me multiple tries to take out the **** and honestly I’m fairly sure I took him out by accident. Just to warn you.
Overall the game looks great and plays like very few shooters on the market. I will say if you are looking for something different then the Call of Duty formula this is your game. It is a dense fiction heavy story telling RPG that doesn’t disappoint that lets you play as you want. I enjoyed the hell out of this game with no prior engagement to the previous games so new comers are welcome. Maybe wiki some of the backstory details. I give this a 4.5/5.

All situations can be solved in two ways stealthily or Rambo type. The fully customizable skill tree is back and by plot themes they reboot Adam so that we discover that he has more powerful and lethal experimental upgrades installed (example “The Titan Armor” makes the “Rhino Skin” from the last game look like a foil) . The AI is very advanced and has access to the same upgrades as you so you have to get creative with your powers. "Decal mode" returns but you already have volume and the view of the enemies is sharpened because if your pompadour sticks out or your weapon the enemy will become suspicious and will look for you until they find you. The Season Pass includes "The Stories of Adam" that give more quests and context to what happens before the story. Bosses can be avoided. It's on the Game Pass. This game will surprise you in a good way and will blow your mind when you play it and pass it. The achievement "the most cunning fox" is back, which forces you not to be detected, and go unnoticed in a world where the most foolish sees through walls

The Bad: The game had poor sales and the Deus Ex series will be on the freezer for a loooong time. The APP that scanned the codes that appear in the game is no longer available so collectibles, some things, gifts or Praxis can no longer be collected. The contents of the Season Pass are stories disjointed with the main plot that feel “extra”. The energy meter (all of your abilities consume energy, so you'll have to be filling that up if you want to use your abilities). If you are one of those who complain about the faces of Mass Effect Andromeda and make memes or jokes, this game is going the same way (less for the main characters, those if they are well modeled). The new improvements are there but there is a very large cost to use and they consume a lot of energy.

The Meh !: you know how this goes, when many hear stealth or infiltration the first thing they think of is the “most solid of snakes” games. It is not a typical gallery or shooting game, it is an RPG with hundreds of conversations

The central hub area in which you do most of your questing is wonderfully interactive, with many rooms, alleys, and airducts to explore. A lot of the side quests are quite good and well-developed. The overall theme of the game is very much in keeping with the spirit of Deus Ex, cyber-augmented superagent bypassing obstacles with force or stealth, and also having to deal with deep philosophical quandaries about the nature of post-human existence.

The game keeps the wonky energy system from the original game, so performing non-lethal takedowns consumes energy, and you'll probably have to pop a biocell if you want to chain multiple takedowns. The story could be thought of as more prosaic than the usual save the world stuff, since this time you're mostly just stopping terrorists. I don't consider these good or bad, just design decisions that could be controversial to some.

The bad is the terrible mapping system. Instead of just showing you where the target is on a map, the game gives you waypoints that might be good or awful. Some of the multistory levels become quite complicated, and the waypoints can be completely unhelpful for showing you where you're supposed to be going, so the alternatives are to explore every section of the huge areas until you find the correct path, or to look online where you're supposed to go. Also bad is that the game crashed fairly often for me, about half a dozen times. One of those crashes was a systemic issue that required an extensive workaround. The physics for dragging bodies could have really used some work, as it's clunky and frustrating, especially for something as time-sensitive as hiding a body in a stealth game. There are several gameplay mechanics that are incredibly irritating. Your character gets stopped all the time to have his papers checked by a police officer. It's a little cutscene to show you how prejudiced against augs the police are. It stopped getting cute after first half dozen times it happened. Deus Ex: HR was a 9/10 game for me. This was a 7/10. It's a pretty good game that is dragged down by questionable design decisions.

I'm left hoping that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s developers have an aggressive post-launch plan to continue the game’s story beyond its surprising endpoint. It’s a mottled cherry dropped on top of a game that otherwise makes for subtly major evolutions of action-RPG spaces, and for a world as interesting as Deus Ex’s, it would be a crime to leave it where it stands for another five years.
