Sep 17, 2014There are two elements to this game. First is the bland gameplay and vanilla story that takes no interesting turns. The second is the always online server system that drops me out of gameplay randomly and for no reason when every other device hooked to the wifi still works fine. I made it to level 10 and then decided to cut my losses and sell the game.

Sep 19, 2014howd i know the critics were going to rate this game as superb. this game is complete garbage. its sad to see how low bungie has fallen since halo. and thats all this is. a over glorified halo that was released to early in its time. and not completely finished.

Sep 29, 2014An OK game but lacking a real story. Multiplayer matchmaking is dire and the strike missions are "same old, same old". A below average game with very repetitive game play.

Sep 2, 2015Bungie and Activision have somehow tricked players into paying a lot of money for not a lot of content and being absolutely disregarded by their developer.
Its become obvious that the soul of Bungie now resides at 343 Industries. Remember when Bungie used to really care about its players? -

Nov 15, 2014It's…not that great. not worth a 0 but not worth the buy. It's eight hours of repetivity with next gen graphics to barely hold it up. You could argue you can do strikes to get more hours in it is still you just doing missions you've already done on harder levels. The level cap is 30. You are not going to have much fun, and it's worth about 20$. Don't buy this game, really. Don't.

Jan 20, 2015Destiny is a mix of first-person shooter and action rpg that requires a permanent connection to play, yet it's filled with connectivity issues that keep you from playing it.

Apr 1, 2015This game sucks you into a grind replaying the same 5 strikes and raid again and again and again. I wasted a lot of hours on this game trying to upgrade my weapons. Most notably running around in circles picking up materials. Urgh.

Sep 10, 2014Dull, charmless, boring and repetitive. I really wanted to like this game, but its just so bland. Every mission feels the same, killing endless hordes of unimaginative bullet sponges. Nice graphics though.

Sep 30, 2014Boring, boring, and boring. Same go fetch nonsense over and over. Everyone else has said everything I would say. One thing is for sure, I hope Peter Dinkledge's beach house was worth his phoned in voice acting.
-
Sep 16, 2014Absolutely did not live up to the hype generated around it. Extremely disappointing, linear, repetitive, run-of-the-mill shooter.
It's mediocre at best but the forced hype and pushes for pre-orders make the taste all the more bitter. 2. -

Sep 12, 2014OK. I gave Destiny a 0 because of disconnects every 5 minutes.
But, now that's over. So props to you bungie. I have to say Destiny is now worth a fully fledged 2. -

Oct 6, 2014Purchase the "My Opinion" content pack for $15 to read this review.
The game is extremely repetitive and it has a lot of content cut out to make later DLC.
There is practically no plot, most of the dialogue is used to set up future DLC. -

Oct 12, 2015Big HYPE - Average game - i would rate as a 6 but all the in game purchases takes a few more off that.
It really has no soul nothing inventive. . . Bloody good adverts and marketing tho.
But yeh i thought this game sucked, prob worth ÂŁ15 pre-owned but you could find a better game. -

Sep 12, 2014Not good enough as a HALO game. Not good enough as a BORDERLANDS game. Not good enough as a WoW game. This game is trying to be a jack of all trade FPS-Huge world-MMO game, but failed to focus in any of it.
I have to admit, this game is way over-hyped. It's still a good game, but it's just not as good as I taught it will be. -
Oct 19, 2014Go here, hold X to scan, defeat enemies, repeat.
Well done Bungie, you've just proven that you can still be succesful with as little effort put into a product as possible. You are truly an inspiration to us all. -

Sep 10, 2014This game has all the bells and whistles a AAA title should have, but completely lacking in soul. It's a hollow shell, emotionless, and worst of all boring. How did Bungie get this so wrong? Where is the heart?
-
Sep 10, 2014Don't waste your money. The game is repetitive, can't talk to anyone without jumping through a ton of hoops, the loot system is terrible, there is no story worth paying attention too, and the multiplayer is boring unbalanced garbage.
From one gamer to another, save your money. -

Sep 14, 2014These type of games belong on PC, if you don't understand why go buy a gaming PC. When they do come out with a PC version ill give it another try. Until then Goodluck

Sep 29, 2014I feel cheated. $60 for tho game? No story to be found. Emotionless characters. Repetitive gameplay. I do not recommend wasting your money on Destiny.
You go to a point, push x and summon the monsters, then you repeat. I have seen more variety in a Dynasty Warriors game.
I regret purchasing the digital copy because I'd gladly let Gamestop give me $10 credit for this "game". -

Dec 12, 2014$15 per DLC that was already on the disc when I bought it? Check. Same price but less DLC features than Playstation? Check. Crappy Dev who wants to patch the Raid every time someone beats it so that current strategies no longer work? Double Check. Take your ball and go home, Bungie, you'll never get another dime from me.
-
Dec 28, 2014The game storyline was poorly written, and the content becomes quickly boring and hollow. There are so many bugs that occur while executing a raid that it makes it pointless to begin with.

Apr 26, 2015Repetitive, addicting in a negative way, it feels like it forces you to play. The enemies aren't that complex just revamped versions of themselves, gets old very quickly. Extremely overrated as well.
-
Jun 29, 2015This game could have been great but then came the dlc and then more dlc and more. Then the partnerships with other companies. To top it all off the story was once much better than the repetitive crap that is in the game now.
Bungie, I expected greater from you.
Activision, stop ruining games to maximize profits. -

Sep 9, 2014Essentially a Borderlands rip-off minus all the things that make Borderlands unique, like its art and humor, whether you liked them or not. Boring grinding, tiny maps, limited features and customization. This is a marketing campaign, not a game.
-
May 23, 2017This game had promise but my biggest issue is playing at 30fps....it's simply not acceptable for a shooter. And for me that makes Destiny totally as in 100% worthless as a game.
-
Nov 1, 2014Okay I am submitting a new review after hearing about the expansion pack. Bungie want's 20 dollars for a DLC with very little content and are selling the DLC to sony users for the exact same price with 33% more content. Don't waste your money.
-
Sep 11, 2014Would give this game 10/10 if they could make their online better. I keep disconnecting from friends. Horrible online they have. Fix it and its a ten.
-
Sep 10, 2014This game (and all games) are developed on PC hardware, but they release it on console anyway? WTF making games just because you are in it for the money is pathetic. Go run a bank if you don't care about gamers, leave game development to GAMERS!

Sep 9, 2014The hype for this game definitely was of such proportions. The game doesn't stand a chance to live up to it. The missions are a disaster. They are all similar for example.

Sep 10, 2014What a disappointment !
I bought the game the day it came out without having played the Beta ...
I trusted the reviews on the net and I strongly regret it!
The game is still the same, we get bored quickly -

Jan 27, 2015I originally gave this game a really good review but now it's "aww crap we forgot to complete the game... Oh! i know lets make some DLC for it for the rest of the game!"
-
Sep 9, 2014I feel physically ill after playing this game. It's so derivative and cynically designed. It feels like a bad F2P MMO trying to pretend that it's a cinematic shooter. It is more or less polished, but completely dull, forgettable and downright BORING to play, I will be returning this game, I have played better F2P games.

Sep 9, 2014This game is certified BUNS. Cant play Multiplayer from the start and forces you to play the same boring mission objective over and over and over again. I rather have burned 60$

X-ONE Magazine UKNov 8, 2014It's a slick, mechanically sound, and lavishly produced shooter that uses beauty to try and mask the potentially great but uninspired gameplay inside. [Issue#117, p.62]
-
Oct 21, 2014Destiny feels like the key elements of an FPS and an MMO gently resting shoulder to shoulder, instead of being fused together in a truly creative way. It plays and looks great, and offers many, many hours of entertainment to anyone okay with repeating the same tasks, but it isn’t exactly the game-changing science fiction epic we felt it was aspiring to.
-
Hyper MagazineOct 16, 2014An ambitious if repetitive combination of shooter and loot based ARPG. A boost in loot drop frequency could definitely boost the fun/score. [Issue#254, p.47]
