I'm sure they're nice, if you can manage to even get the rewards to drop, let alone actually decrypt into something other than a 3rd or 4th copy of the exact same gun you already have. Finally, with all of this focus on Eververse cosmetic stuff for pay, can we just address the simple fact that our XP rank ups now reward us by giving us useless cosmetic objects, rather than any tangible rewards that improve game play? This is, frankly, unacceptable for a major publisher to put out to their already disappointed fanbase, especially for a fee. Unbelievably disappointing. Expand

Orisis the character is incredibly important in the Destiny canon and his return could have hailed a huge opportunity to break open the narrative of Destiny and bring fans in much closer than ever before. Instead, Curse of Osiris ends up being a ho-hum campaign experience that offers very little substance and forces players to wander an Infinite Forrest that is both incredibly unique and extremely boring all at the same time. The greatest moment of the Curse of Osiris campaign doesn't land until the very end, where a boss fight with raid mechanics comes into play. However, as cool as that sounds, it's a pretty weak encounter when you look back at what you did in that encounter. There is a little more to the expansion than a meager campaign, but nothing feels inspired or important and much of the new content is small. Bungie takes zero opportunities to expand the horizons of Destiny 2 and it quickly returns you to the meaningless grind once the story is completed. Shame on Bungie for releasing this. Shame on Bungie for Destiny 2 which ended up being the biggest letdown of 2017. High hopes are being slammed to the ground and it is becoming abundantly clear that Bungie has no clue what they're doing with this franchise. Without a rally point in the near future, Destiny is doomed. Expand

I have just processed my Destiny 2 refund with Amazon because of this expansion. The cut throat greed of Cashtivision these days really is just harming the brands it publishes. I am embarrassed that we XBONE users have rated this higher then the PS4 peeps. Just read all the other reviews here, they are 100% spot on. Bungies incredible lack of any respect for their consumers continues to shine through with this terrible expansion but the fact they have locked out vanilla content with this release is bordering on illegal. Boycott Bungie. To hell with Destiny 1.5

I’ve been playing Destiny since day one and with all the promise Bungie showed with releases like the Taken King and Rise of Iron, Bungie has gone all EA with Destiny 2. I’m not sticking around hoping that the game will be fixed, I’m out. Bungie’s intentions are to casualise the **** out of this franchise and milk the audience with microtransactions and I want no part of it. Such a shame.

Firstly I will only elaborate on the story line and review the story cause I think other content like crucible, strike and micro trans. etc has already been ranted to the bone here and on youtube - to sum all of this "its really bad" and I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain :) .
SO HERE GOES NOTHING BUNGIE - As this DLC is about the whole Osiris/VEX/timeline

SO HERE GOES NOTHING BUNGIE - As this DLC is about the whole Osiris/VEX/timeline manipulation I will try my best to explain my thoughts in same context - you do not have enough TIME to warp up important story lines let alone the sub plots (I count 15 so far including the ones that were not wrapped up in the first game "D1"). We are two sequels and five paid DLCs down and you still haven’t told us anything. In every sequel / DLC you introduce a new sub plot (yes I am calling the entire campaign story of D2 a sub plot) that distracts from the main story and does not answer any of important questions we had from D1. Bungie - you can still answer major plot related questions and have fresh content – a DLC where the guardian takes a journey to the Traveler, or some crap like that. Osiris DLC could have been used to answer questions about the VEX, you could have told us how they as a species got involved in all this, why they worship the darkness. Instead you introduced a new VEX boss and new story for Mercury. Osiris is a most powerful warlock that will go to any lengths to get results (in this case saving humanity), but in the end you made him look like some old hobo who does not care for any of this and goes on a pilgrimage into the VEX gate to explore new worlds, with no information on VEX shared with the vanguard. He even says to his ghost in the end of DLC that “……..we have all the time in the world”, I get VEX alternate timeline & time travel and all crap, but is that the kind of tempo you want to build up as a narrative telling your player base that there is no urgency and you have all the time in the world. BTW no raid in this DLC, Raid layer does not qualify as new content.
My thoughts are that you (i.e. Bungie) have already secured your 90% revenue for the next two DLCs through Pre order (thanks to idiots like me) and you don't give a crap about what you put in them anymore as you have already recovered your moneys worth. I predict that all the major changes, plot reveal, cool new raids, new enemies will start dropping from 3rd DLC as they need to lure players to buy it. Last request bungie - PLEASE REMOVE SUPERMACY FROM QUICKPLAY LIST, I DONT LIKE IT , I HAVE NOT HEARD A SINGLE SOUL WHO SAID THAT THEY LIKE PLAYING SUPERMACY . EVERY SINGLE YOUTUBER HATES THAT GAME MODE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REMOVE SUPERMACY FROM QUICKPLAY CRUCIBLE LIST.

God damn, Bunige! The first DLC I bought was The Dark Below and since this DLC I'd prefer NOT to buy DLC never, ever again. And, it seems, you did it again.
Why don't just take more time to bring us more single and coop unique missions?

The art and sound departments killed it, as usual, and garnered the rating of 1 instead of 0. Whoever decided the direction, content, and story were worth $20 must be mad. "Expansion" was around 2-3 hours, and made me finally put Destiny 2 down. I'll likely stop in here and there for some items from Xur in case I pick the game back up again, but then again I'm out of vault space. It's hard to rate this game unless you include the store. Very few items of value to the player (armor sets, ghost shells, ships and sparrows) can be found by playing the game. Its all in the store. The campaign is short, the world is small. Its a mall simulator. Buy the game to gain entry to a store (eververse), that will ensure that everything you do ensures you visit the shop. ThisIt's hard to rate this game unless you include the store. Repeating my PS4 review since I own it on both platforms:

Bungie has completely missed the mark here. Even with the bundled "quality of life" changes they released with this "expansion" it is laughably barren and empty of anything worthwhile. More recycled D1 exotics, a tiny playable area, and atrocious writing have made this a serious case of buyers remorse for me. All good-will

All good-will Bungie earned from me in Destiny 1 is dead and gone. I may never play another Bungie title as long as I live and I am definitely done with this hollow shell of a game.

It's clear the end-game has been locked behind Eververse (loot-boxes). Our guardians have been nerfed into the ground. They took away all our items only to trickle them back to us as watered-down D2 versions.

The quality of life changes include a nerf to the shoulder-charge to prevent it from being used as mobility.

I played Destiny 1 the other day and the comparisons sum up Destiny 2. I'm disappointed and bored. A gorgeous game with amazing sound can't make up for everything we've lost.

I feel slow, weak, and mute. My guardian won't talk. My guardian can barely sprint anymore. My supers are weak. My subclasses are wet-noodles and constricting to choice. The armor is pointless and so are the mods.

This game is greed and hubris in a box.

And past Mercury is one of the most visually stunning things i have every seen. In one of the missions you explore a seed ship and i was in that mission for about an hour as i loved the scenery and was just admiring the area. However the lack of darkness zones inside the boss fights was a real downfall, considering that missions were 200-230 due to catering to casual fans it wasn't challenging.

This all being said you have to give it to Bungie that the infinite forest, Mercury past and present and the descendant and precursor vex look visually stunning.

And Bungie now definitely knows that something has to change NOW as they cancelled their raid stream because of the backlash, so the bright side is that destiny 2 will be getting better.

Bungie have has years to make a better game than Destiny 1 which i really enjoyed but they ultimately failed. However year 1 and 2 Destiny was like this as well, not giving content, no story, disappointing overall, but later Destiny 1 was amazing. So there is still hope this will happen again.

If your interested in the vex and destiny lore than i would recommend this dlc, however if you want it for the raid, you should look into it first as even though it looks really good im not sure that everyone will think it was enjoyable.

This was their answer to the lack of content in Destiny 2? A DLC that was painfully obvious that it was finished before the game released and should have been available at launch. More reskinned gear and enemies and the story was pretty much the same as RoI. The “Infinite Forest” is just an overhyped interactive loading screen, and the endgame is STILL non-existent. Do not buy.

SHAME ON YOU BUNGIE!!! This is not a full price DLC, this is a really bad joke. The DLC has a tiny new region called Merkur and you must every time run on the other side of this map (without sparrow). Most of the boring story you can straight run throught, running is the primary activity you have to do beside some cutscenes and a few fights :-(

This expansion had such potential and completely wasted it. The trailer and opening cutscene let me to believe we were in store for an amazing story and dlc but that is not what we got. The campaign was very boring and the boss was awful. It wasted a great character in Osiris and ended less than lackluster. The multiplayer maps were bad and the strikes were just rehashing levels. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even though you may not have to buy this anymore. The campaign is very short. It does not take a long time to complete it. I loved playing Destiny 1 but if the PvP in the game is not unbalanced then I will love everything about the game. I do not go for what is promised. You can go to Mercury in Destiny 2 since the time this DLC game out but it is just one planet to be added in Curse of Osiris. Expand

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is a waste of both money and time. It’s a shame that Bungie couldn’t use the Infinite Forest themselves to find a timeline in which they had actually crafted a content drop that was as interesting and innovative in practice as it was on paper. Curse of Osiris does house some solid elements, such as decent voice acting and gorgeous design, but that means absolutely nothing when the content itself is meagre and half-baked.
