I had fun playing through this one even with all of it's flaws. It's not nearly as suspense filled or well thought out as the first two in the series but still enjoyable. An interesting but perdictable story with a proper conclusion. It's definitely worth playing through if you're a fan of the Arkham series of games but feels like it was rushed like Arkham Origins. It's fine if your playing to wrap up the series and get some closure but If you haven't played the first two in the series then stay far far away from this until it's in a Discount bin somewhere or till they release a GOTY version with all DLC cause it's not worth the full price of admission. This game needs a serious Director's Cut with 90% less Bat-Tank. -------------!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!------------------------------------------

    Pros
    -Improved textures/graphics/character models
-Great Sountrack more of the same dah dat dat dant dah that we all enjoy.
-Great Voice acting from the entire cast, no amount of Bat-Tanks could ruin that.
-The inclusion of The Joker within the main story was brilliant.
-The Bat-mobile was a lot fun to drive and easy to control.Being able to call it in remotely to solve puzzle sections and take down enemies in pre-planned main story sections was fun I wish they would have limited the bat-mobile to just a handful of those sections and not shove the Tank down our throats like they did.
-The map although a bit bland and lacking any real DC/Batman Universe References was at least a lot larger in scale horizontally and vertically, it allows for better flight control and gives you Multiple Vantage points to take down enemies except in predator sections where enemies are cluttered in a single space and are all wielding guns.

    Cons
-No Paul Dini = more plot holes and filler Bat-Tank sections.
-The Arkham Knight was obviously Jason Todd it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. They drop some very unnecessary clues at the beginning of the game even though most of us already know .They didn't need to borrow dialogue from the Red Hood Movie and make it even more obvious then it was but they did. The moment when he takes off his mask to show his Red Hood Mask was a real kick in the nuts. People Praise how respectful Rocksteady has been with the franchise so far but creating an Alter Ego For Jason Todd/Robin even though he's already an alter ego of himself is just plain lazy. This is the kinda thing I've come to expect in Comic Book Movie re-makes and I wasn't expecting it in a game from Rocksteady. They should of kept Paul Dini on as a writer cause I'm sure he would have come up with something better then putting another costume on top of the Red Hoods costume.
    -Lack of any real Boss-Fights.
Batman and The Arkham Knight spend most of their time riding around in Tanks but when they finally meet face to face there's a short QTE fist fight with the Arkham Knight followed by a Gasp from Alfred with a bit of boo-hoo you didn't protect me Batman back and forth with Jason Todd followed by a long and drawn out Predator section.Through it all your left wondering why has a Red Hood mask under his AK mask when The Red Hood hasn't been introduced in the Batman Arkham Universe yet. The Boss fights are what I missed most from the last game. They couldn't even throw in a quick fight with Bane or a proper fight with Jason Todd.
-The Bat-Tank was way over-used.The game feels like it's 50% Story and 50% Bat-Tank sections.
I hated the Tank it did nothing to move along an already slow moving some-what perdictable plot. I got stuck in certain sections where The Bat-tank was outnumbered by much more powerful and slightly faster tanks running around in circles in what turned out to be several half-baked attempts at Boss Fights. Also there's a part where your surrounded by 50 of em(hope your leveled up enough by that point or you'll be playing through that section over and over again)It feels like the games trying to hold you back so that you don't realize how short the coherent and enjoyable sections of the Main story really are.I would have been okay with a shorter story without all the filler but the Bat-Tank Story had to be told and tell it they did.
    -Lack of Good Easter Eggs.
When you look Back to Arkham City you quickly realize that Rocksteady already made every Batman Reference possible so all we get here is a handful of obscure Easter Eggs that only the most Hard-Core Batman/DC fans will understand and what's worse is that they cut and paste most of them through the entire Map.
-Glitches right from the beginning. My game crashed a couple of time but the Auto-Save was able to take me back to my last check-point each time so there wasn't much backtracking. The Glitches I experienced affected everything from the music/sound/voices cutting in and out or going very quiet in cut-scenes to Some texture pop-ins and occasionally clipping through a floors.

So, the finale of Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy arrived (with a slow whimper on PC) and well, it is bombastic to say the least. Is it good though?
Firstly, the game's story, about Scarecrow's plan to take down Gotham and Batman, is very good. The game's story has enough substance and psychological themes to provide a interesting story, whilst having the massive explosions, cameos off the Batman universe. This is provided through good voice acting with Conroy and Noble having good performances. What prevents this story from really becoming great is two things. First, the story is too linear, and could be better with branching paths. Second, the story sometimes depend on the Batmobile too much. Now, the Batmobile is fantastic, controls in both modes fantastic and being very fun, but has too much to do with the main story.
However, this game shines (ironically enough) through the creation of a dark, gritty City in Gotham. The game's visuals and sound design really help to portray Batman's City as a worn city, taken apart by crime, rioting and anarchism. Gliding over the city shows a great size for the city, with chatter about kids and supercriminals being heard by Batman. The characters add to this, as they are a number of interesting side characters, such as the helpful Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman to the villainous Riddler, Arkham Knight and these characters are involved in a huge number of side missions that make the City feel like a place where characters are existing and actively doing things. These increase the longevity within this sprawling city. AR Challenges add to this, even if they aren't entirely fun due to their separation from the main game.
The big thing about this game is the combat. The Arkham games have always nailed the balance and once again, combat is very fun here. With even more gadgets and abilities to unlock, the combat is even deeper with more variation and higher hit scores whilst maintaining difficulty with varying enemies. Whilst it's hard to remember all these moves, it's still a great joy to kick ass as the caped crusader in fast paced, free flowing, hard hitting combat.
So, The Arkham trilogy has gone out with a great bang. This series has shown the potential in using licenses to great effect and sets the standard for licensed games. That is one of the many things we can thank this franchise for, and in particular, this last game for.

Batman: Arkham Knight is such a cool, addictive and fun game. Each time i have to convince myself to play it, but I always end up playing forever. Really cool fighting mechanics, cool story, generally cool everything. Really feel rewarded each time you finish a mission are defeat enemies.

I loved this game. Entertaining, mixes stealth with action and contrary to some reviews, the bat mobile (or tank) is an entertaining addition.

What I feel is that reviews often do not focus in the entertaining side of the games but on things or arguments that are not relevant to the playability of the game.

This game has incredible action scenes and intense drama. The Scarecrow became one of the most memorized Batman villains thanks to this game. The Batmobile has incredible features and the ending is a mix of dramatic and creepy. I would recommend this game to any hardcore Batman fan.

Luckily I was wrong. They deliver once again thanks to a narrative that pulls no punches, expansions on nearly every aspect of the previous games, and one of the most refined gaming experiences ever created. Some might be turned off by some of the changes to the formula, but it is hard to deny the level of quality this game has. It's one of the best open-world experiences on the market and certainly one of the best superhero games of all time.

Gotham a huge place to explore and villains have taken over every nook and cranny. Plenty of side diversions are available that will hours to your playtime. Completing them all will allow you to see the full ending. An extra incentive for doing it all. It's not like we really needed one though. Hunting down all of those Riddler trophies might be a pain at times, but going out of your way to tackle some of those other objectives is often just as fun as the main quest. They usually lead to exciting encounters with classic Batman villains with confrontations that conclude in ways that are untraditional for the series. Arkham Knight sure isn't afraid to surprise you with something new and unexpected form time to time.

As fun as the side-quests are it can be hard to pull yourself away from the main-quest for too long. That's because the story is so fantastic. It's dark, has some great surprises and twists, and shows that Caped Crusader at his most vulnerable. This is one of the most exciting Batman stories ever told, and it's one that will have you dying to see that next cutscene.

The expected elements of the series are present. The gadgets, the fantastic flow of combat, and others are all back once again. Only they never been smoother. Everything feels incredibly. Rocksteady has polished and refined every aspect of the controls and overall fluidity of the experience. Playing it is as smooth as butter. It might even make the previous games feel clunky in comparison.

One of the new additions comes in the form of some new playable characters who team up with Batman in certain encounters. They don't play any differently, but it's fun to play as a different character for a bit and use those flashy team takedowns. The other new addition is the Batmobile. It's a centerpiece of the gameplay experience. The amount of control you have over it is astounding. A good thing as you will be using it frequently. Vehicular combat is a big part of the game. Plenty of puzzles are tide to the machines many capabilities as well.

Some have complained about how much it is utilized in the game, but I personally can't see why. It's a blast to use and adds some variety to the experience that keeps it from being Arkham City 2.0. I honestly don't think this game would have succeeded as well without it, and to be honest most racing games can't handle cars this well.

Rocksteady concludes their story on a very high note. The gameplay is better than ever and Gotham is filled with things to do. The story dives deep into Batman's psyche and leaves us with plenty of unforgettable moments. Some minor annoyances and a few unfortunate technical issues (it freezes from time to time) are present. However the overall polish the game has makes them almost unnoticeable.

This is one of the most fun gaming experiences I have had in years. It nails just about every aspect one could hope for a game to deliver in. It stands out as one of Batman's shining moments. To top things off it is easily the best looking game I have ever played. It delivers in ever category and I can't recommend it highly enough provided you've played the other games (the story really needs to be seen from the beginning). It's been a while since I have been this amazed by a game.

    I give it a near-perfect score of 9.9/10.

For the 1/2 of the game that is truly Batman worthy I would give the game a 9. But the heavy use of the ridiculous Bat Tank really destroyed the game for me. Riddler continues to be a complete pain and my most hated part of the series.

Graphics were decent, soundtrack was the standard fair, sound was a bit off and the AI was overly alert at times and brain dead the rest.

There was a good 1/3 of a game here and then they went with the tank fights and the whole thing got lost in the shuffle. A very disappointing end to a series.

So sad that I can only justify a 6 for the game overall. The Batmobile and forcing it down your throat SO MUCH really brought the score down.

If you have not played the series, then I suggest forgetting about this title, watch a game movie of it and play the first two.

The graphics are beautiful and well designed. The story was kind of intriguing but didn't keep me on the edge of my seat or really draw me in, until the very end. The fighting in the game was fun but did kind of get repetitive after awhile. The more you progressed the more I had to think about my strategy in taking down my enemies. Your health doesn't advance until after defeating the group of enemies. So it made me want to avoid being hit and brought a tougher element to the game in that aspect. The puzzles in the game weren't all that hard but also not so easy they can't be solved. The Batmobile added a nice element to the game and was required for some missions.

Now for the bad part of the game. Like I said earlier some of the fighting in the game got repetitive. TAlso to get the full ending of the game you have to complete every mission a complete 100%. That wouldn't be so bad except there are over 200 Riddler Trophies to be discovered. This gets very tedious in the game.

The DLC's that have been released are fun but very short. I have the played as Red Hood, Harley Quinn and Batgirl mission. Very short but enjoyable.

Overall this is a must have game that is enjoyable for all to play.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was very excited to get this game because the last batman, Arkham City, had several cliff hangers. This game did tie off the questions but it was very lackluster. There many side mission stories that I was very curious to see how they would turn out but each of them did not live up to my admittedly high expectations. And (minor spoiler here) as the honest trailer said there was waaaaay too much tank in this game (the batmobile turns into a tank). There wasn't even a good old punchy boss fight in the entire game. They were all vehicle battles against some very ridiculous vehicles. In fact you never fight scarecrow and you fight the Arkham Knight 3 times in the batmobile and once in predator mode. You never do fight him Mano a Mano. My biggest disappointments for the game though are that you never fly the batwing despite the fact it is seen very often in the game and you do not see closure for the game unless you 100% it. Ain't nobody got time for that! There's way too much to do and normally this is not a problem but the Checked in at Carl's Jr. / Green Burrito in "riddles" that the riddler leaves are not fun. Games are supposed to be fun, not a chore. I am very happy I rented it instead of buying it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me start by saying I am 97% complete with the entire game and have played all the previous Arkham titles. This review is based on the PS4 version.

Story: The main campaign story is decent. The interactions with Joker are easily the highlight of the campaign. There are several moments that gave me goosebumps and caused me to play that extra 2 hours to see what happened next. Unfortunately, there is a lot of filler and the main villain is probably the least interesting character in the story. There is definitely a theme of investigate this, fight this guy, have a neutral outcome, and repeat. The biggest disappointment in the story was the Arkham Knight's reveal. It was foreshadowed much earlier on in the campaign and the hours of game play leading up to the reveal is rather frustrating since you know what is coming, yet hoops must be jumped through to get there. The side missions were fun for the first few rounds, but became VERY repetitive. The second biggest problem with the story is the fact you have to 100% every mission to see the full ending. Completionists may argue for this approach, however this is such a theatrical and story driven franchise that wasting hours and hours of collecting the hundreds of Riddler trophies sucks all the joy out of getting to see that full ending. 6/10

Game play: The combat is excellent as always. There is a lot of forgiveness in the sense that you can leap and punch people from tens of meters away and leap back to the previous enemy with a touch of a button. The early fights of the game are very easy. The more you progress, the harder the fights become. You won't get away with just spamming the punch button and I found the fights to be challenging, fair, and enjoyable. The two worst parts of the game mechanics are the batmobile and the "boss battles". First the batmobile is truely awesome.... for about the first 30 minutes. After you have played with it, realized how powerful you are, and leaped from the tops of buildings into the car, you quickly realize again the repetition required for every instance where the batmobile is required. Every encounter is boiled down to A) Guard X while it is assaulted by drones or B) Use the power winch to climb/charge Y. Some sequences are extra creative by combining the previously mentioned encounters. 4/10 for repetition of sequences and use of the batmobile.

Appearance: Gotham looks amazing. It is a shame that the PC version won't work properly because I can imagine that this game would be gorgeous. I encountered a few minor glitches that did not effect playing but did take away from the immersion. The voice acting is excellent as expected from the Arkham series. 8/10

Overall: Though I find this game VERY repetitive, it still kept my attention. I will say that I am biased because I just like batman. If you're not a completionist or into batman lore, I would think that many players would grow tired of the game at about the half way point. The repetition and predictable reveal bring the overall rating to a 6/10.

The complaints ARE REAL. something is missing. arkham Origins was closer to The FUN..
ITS OBVIOUS GREEDY HIGHERUPS WANTED MORE SALES SO they demanded The Batmobile.
--anyone who plays this will feel something dishonest is happening with all the 10 ratings. Arkham City was a 10. And this is-NOT even close.... --I'll force myself to continue but honestly it's a struggle..Ironic because I

--I'll force myself to continue but honestly it's a struggle..Ironic because I couldn't put down the previous Arkham games once I started...
--and it's not just the Batmobile. The people, you beat up confused me at 1st as I thought they were background NPC thugs....

-and The Batmobile is just as lame as everyone said it would be...a super fast Tank In a super cramp city with a driver who hurts everyone but doesn't kill anyone..
--I actually got so bored with AK that I restarted The Last Of Us again..

Disclaimer- I sorry I'm not pretending I'm a employee of Xbox..this gamer owns both and PC...

This game is phenomenal. The story is full of suspense with countless twists which make it equal in quality with city's. I was concerned that as everyone keeps saying the bat mobile is overused. I'm urging you as a fan of the Arkham series that this game is sensational. The story, gameplay (including the batmobile), the voice acting and the features if this game are unparalleled. Rocksteady, you deserve all the credit you can get. You've done wonders with this batman Arkham series. Listening to negative reviews is important, but not in this instance. There's nothing to complain about. Can't wait for the next game rocksteady starts working on! Expand

Lets start by saying this was a great batman game. I thought the story was very well thought of and the graphics were awesome. At first when I played the game I didn't see much difference in graphics until I played a xbox 360 version, which are still great. I loved near enough every part of the game except some of the riddler challenges with the batmobile which at times was very hard toLets start by saying this was a great batman game. 1. Somehow, monotone side activities are a perfect match for the game’s atmosphere of bad dream you just can’t wake up from. Disarm a bomb, secure an outpost, disable a watchtower; disarm a bomb, secure an outpost, disable a watchtower; repeat ad nauseam. After 100% completion you’ll feel as tired as Batman himself. An uncompromising, visionary conclusion to Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight is the world's greatest detective in the world's greatest superhero game.

So obviously there were a few things that I didn't like about Arkham Knight and some things that I wished were done better, but overall I did enjoy my time with the game.
