This game is Batman. If you loved the other ones as I did, then you'll love this one as well. If you're looking for something brand new and different from the other ones, than you'll be disappointed. This is everything that I wanted in the game and more! Also, DLC is NOT how I would describe this game since there are none out there except for the preorder stuff.

This game properly gives us the Batman we deserve, introduces us to possibly the best car in video game history, and has stunning graphics and a gripping story, featuring the return of the Joker, Deathstroke, and Firefly, and bringing even more characters from DC Comics into the story, including Jason Todd, Nyssa Raatko, and Professor Pyg. How awesome is it to be the most badass super hero in the DC Universe? I’ll tell you. It’s the awesome-est. Here’s the thing about Arkham Knight, its graphics are better than the previous games and it showed lots of promise with the BATMOBILE. The fluid fights and the stellar combat is where this game is unrivaled at. From Asylum to Knight, the combat has never failed.

However, the Batmobile seems to star in it a little more than the title character. It’s not too bad in my opinion though. Where I think this game struggles is the story. Although the ending is badass, the reveal of the Arkham Knight’s identity and Scarecrow not really doing anything despite being the main villain is a bit underwhelming. Batman's end of the story is not bad, but the rest is rather dull. I won't get into more detail in order to avoid spoilers.

Other than that, you can bet that Batman will be Batman.

The story, as in the previous games, it was quite well written, kept me on the edge, not knowing what to expect next. The only disappointment would have to be that i reached 71% of the main story in just 2 days without powering through it, completed more than 50% of the side missions. And I wish you could bring your sidekicks to the open world not just the missions.

Would recommend, even if your not a DC fan.

    A great great game.
It doesnt matter if they force you the batmobile sometimes, and that is actually a cool thing. At first you will feel strange at maneuvering it and later you'll really like it.
The game is quiet amazing, with a great gameplay and a great story. I dont really understand the complains.

Gameplay is pure Arkham, but sufficiently upgraded from the previous games. Knight knocks this out of the park where Origins fell short. The expanded functionality of the Remote Hacking Tool and Disruptor alone fulfill this, IMO. There are far more ways to take down enemies now, both in fights and in stealth, thanks to not only the new features but also the...

New upgrade system! The different tiers are great; it really lets you choose how you want to play the game. I personally invested in stealth, which made the fights a bit harder for me. But that was my choice, NOT broken gameplay.

Fighting received a bit less of a freshening-up than stealth I think, but I don't think it NEEDED much of one. New enemies are the biggest addition, making some later fights pretty darn challenging (a good thing). The dual-team fighting is cool too, although I wish there was more of it.

Stealth gets great new additions thanks to great new gadget options and environmental takedowns. There are some new stealth movement additions as well.

Now to the Batmobile. When it first shows up, you'll wet yourself, because its an Arkham game and IT'S THE BATMOBILE. It's a lot of fun to drive around, though there is a bit of a learning curve (but not bad) on maneuvering it. Other reviewers clearly don't understand this; sorry that this game actually makes you work to be good at something. Taking out thug cars as you're driving around NEVER gets old. I didn't find the battles to be as bad as others make them out to be, though I do agree that the its-ok-to-have-a-cannon-cause-they're-unmanned-drones excuse to be a bit weak. It combines dodging and shooting in an interesting vehicular way, and new drone types definitely mix it up and add challenge later. Of course, the Batmobile gets upgraded with cool new gadgets and weaponry as well. You also use the Batmobile in puzzle situations, which is an awesome feature. I thought the Riddler trophies involving the Batmobile were some of the best. It makes you think outside the box, if you were really comfortable with previous Arkham games.

Overall, this is the best game I've played on Xbox One so far. It looks fantastic, HUGE graphical and framerate improvement from the previous games. It's challenging, thanks to a new gameplay pillar and new additions to the tried and true ones. It's expansive (definitely larger than City) and getting from A to B is even more fun after you master driving the Batmobile. It's dark, which it SHOULD BE because BATMAN IS A DARK CHARACTER. A+ for finally giving us an M-rated Arkham game.

Verdict: 95. Easily. Even if you knock it more than I did on certain things, there's no way a score should ever be below an 85. This game is simply that good. It's fantastic. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't pick it up.

P.S. The way the Joker is incorporated ALONE should win this game several writing awards.

I loved this game. Entertaining, mixes stealth with action and contrary to some reviews, the bat mobile (or tank) is an entertaining addition.

What I feel is that reviews often do not focus in the entertaining side of the games but on things or arguments that are not relevant to the playability of the game.

That said I really enjoyed the new extensions to the overall gameplay in keeping with previous versions. I wish there were more combat challenges and fewer batmobile challenges, which make up the majority of the challenge content. The story arc was good and the big reveal is foreshadowed to the point that experienced bat people should be able to deduce who the featured enemy's identity is. The use of the Joker is well done and some of his lines are extremely well written (as well as exceptionally delivered by Luke Skywalker). Also, playing story+ especially playing a DLC skin I experienced quite a few crashes. But overall Batman Arkham Knight is by far the best title for Xbox One since GTA. Must play. I purchased the season pass and am very much looking forward to the DLC. Expand

It's few nitpicks do lower it from Arkham city, but its still the second best Arkham game out there. 9/10

    - Story is surprisingly weak: dialogue feels like a comic book at times (not in a good way). story can be predictable due to some writing issues
    - Batmobile is kinda fun at first but gets tiresome. Would have been nice as an optional mode or with more features to prevent it from becoming dull.
    - sometimes feels like story elements have been left out, possibly for future DLC.

It's good. The bad stuff I said really didn't detract from the experience that much. Rocksteady's goal was to make you feel like the batman and they did just that. This game is definitely worth having. It is like the last 360 ones I have played. The graphics are obviously much better, and they have added the car. Except for the BATMOBILE!!! At first the car is awesome. It is a tank, it handles nice, considering this isn't a driving game. It is all you thought it was in the previews. But then very quickly it appears the design team decided that fans of the Batman series must be fans of all the car games out there. And then the car becomes a horrible 15k ton (or whatever it weighs) weight around your ankle. Whose only mission seems to be to destroy you enjoying this game. Seriously the fist car mission was so stupid, I almost wanted to quit the game. The batmobile was even in the Riddler's puzzles.

Seriously the car stuff is just suffocating. Then I got pulled back into the story. I haven't finished the game, but it is a great game. I am still playing and enjoying it. Except the game does have this absurd need to tie you to the Batmobile. Honestly, at times you will say, just send the Batmobile. It should of been this awesome addition to the game, that made travel so much more fun and combat more exciting. But in the end it drags the game down so much it is the reason I have to give this game an 8.

Honestly the car becomes such a crutch, it should of been used as a vehicle for a Batgirl story. After all she is in a wheelchair now and reliance on the car would of made sense in the story. In that case it would of been a award winning story showing her strength of character and indomitable spirit. But in the context of a vehicle for Batman it is receiving way to much story share. At times it will seem like this game should be called the Batmobile verses the Arkham Knight.

Finally do you want to tear around Gotham in a giant suped up sports car/tank that demolishes pretty much anything in it path?

If the answer is yes then buy this game! The only things you will have to endure are a slight overuse of the tank mode in the story and the integration of the Batomblie in to Puzzles(which I don’t mind) other then a few issues that are generic game logic not meshing with real logic type things your good to go!

Make no mistake this isn’t a perfect game but it's damn entertaining and worthy sequel, if you like Batman then why wouldn’t you want to play a game that’s basically Batman: The simulator V 3.0?

Graphics: Awesome at first, in the beginning when the story was being told, i thought this to be pre rendered, but later i got the controlls handed to me. This was a great surprise. Only negative thing is it always rains, and it's always dark. But other than this, slick, smooth, and captures the mood perfectly.

Sound/voice acting: Both drag you right in the story. It feels like you are the lead character in this new Batman movie. Can't fault it on anything.

Game play: Smooth, responsive, and the way the game learns you something new while the story progresses is superbly done. The driving in the Batmobile is awesome, and somehow i also love to shoot in tank mode. Can't fault this too, as it is just how i feel it should be.

Overall: I'm more of a Spiderman fan, but this is a great way showing how a game based on a comic hero can be done. The only reasons i can't score this a perfect 10 is i was a bit disapointed how small the town was after a long playing session, and in what part of the world does it only rains, and never get to see the light of day? I know the rain reflection and raindrops look cool, but this game could have used some difference in the background, it all looks so black and shiny now.

The graphics are beautiful and well designed. The story was kind of intriguing but didn't keep me on the edge of my seat or really draw me in, until the very end. The fighting in the game was fun but did kind of get repetitive after awhile. The more you progressed the more I had to think about my strategy in taking down my enemies. Your health doesn't advance until after defeating the group of enemies. So it made me want to avoid being hit and brought a tougher element to the game in that aspect. The puzzles in the game weren't all that hard but also not so easy they can't be solved. The Batmobile added a nice element to the game and was required for some missions.

Now for the bad part of the game. Like I said earlier some of the fighting in the game got repetitive. TAlso to get the full ending of the game you have to complete every mission a complete 100%. That wouldn't be so bad except there are over 200 Riddler Trophies to be discovered. This gets very tedious in the game.

The DLC's that have been released are fun but very short. I have the played as Red Hood, Harley Quinn and Batgirl mission. Very short but enjoyable.

Overall this is a must have game that is enjoyable for all to play.

Still my personal game of the year. Expand

Without rehashing information already passed, this is the Batman game that all others will be judged by. The batmobile is not a bad addition, but I know feel that this game made Saints Row 4's same mistake: since they added the super powers, driving is useless now; well, the Batmobile renders the gliding almost useless too.

Also, stay away from the game's PC port. It's easily the worst next-gen port so far. And avoid misleading user reviews, which keep rating the game's PC port on XBOXONE and PS4 sections.

You should start it on hard because the game is very easy on normal difficulty.

The Batmobile is an interesting addition to gameplay and the story is well crafted. The Batmobile is used in quite a few scenarios throughout the main story, however it is not always mandatory to use it to get around. Often when I am not required to use it for an objective, whether main scenario or side mission, I find myself enjoying the enhanced gliding system in this game. It's what the other Arkham games (IDK about Origins, didn't play it) were and a bit more, I felt more freedom than I ever did in either at it feels really nice. I can honestly say this is the most fun I've had on my Xbox One in MONTHS. I tend to keep up with all the latest stuff and comparatively, this game blows away a lot of the other titles in the XB1 repository. To comic book fans, the story reveal may be obvious but I imagine for those unfamiliar with Batman lore, the reveal is pretty stunning. Also, in so far as the batmobile is concerned… I love it. Really, I think it's great. People are not appreciating what it takes for a development team to include a gameplay element like that—one that's so markedly different from the core fighting aspect of the game. It basically requires the devs to put two games into one. It's difficult to do, and I think they did a fantastic job of melding the two gameplay types together into a single cohesive experience. I personally looked forward to all the batmobile moments, and loved every part of it, both driving and combat. Last thing, the story missions in the game are NOT tedious *nor* repetitive, which is awesome. In a lot of games (Witcher 3, ESO, Shadow Warrior, Forza Horizon 2, etc.) the basic missions (story mode, general progression, etc.) become repetitive half way through and you're kind of left with a "yeah, I get it" feeling. In this game? Nope. Missions tend to all be different while still relying on same set of core mechanics. Again, loved the game. 10/10. Expand

The voice acting, like the others, was occasionally cheesy, but overall was good.

The fighting feels even more polished than the previous Arkham games. The down side is that smaller fights can be incredibly easy. Even the larger fights (15-20 guys) are not too difficult. There are several opportunities to fight alongside allies and switch between characters which adds depth and excitement to the battles.

The use of the Batmobile can feel excessive at times, but is a great addition to the game. The driving controls feel strange at first, especially if you're used to racing games. However, once you get used to them, you will be ripping through the streets of Gotham. I feel like if they hadn't added the Batmobile, it would be just like the other games. People have called the Batmobile a "crutch." That is an exaggeration and people are just being whiny.

Overall I give the game a 9/10. The reasons it is not a 10/10 being the easy fighting, the occasional bad voice acting and dialogue, and the OCCASIONAL overuse of the Batmobile. This is a great game and would recommend to anyone.

The Arkham Knight is the some what focus of this game (Hints the name) and he is a unknown villain hell bent on bringing Batman to his kneels and getting his revenge. Him and his Men are the most prepared and well armed when it comes to fighting the Batman. The combat to the game is very fluid and smooth with only a few times where you get mad at Batman for not doing even remotely close to what you wanted him to, other then those odd points the combat is very enjoyable. The environments mostly give you multiple ways to handle a situation rather it be stealth from below/above or a all out brawl or something in-between. The addition of the Batmobile adds a whole new level of combat to the game with the ability to call in the Tank/Super Car with a press of a button you are able to use it to take out enemy checkpoints, Tanks or whatever you need. The Batmobile is extremely fun to drive with it smashing through parts of builds and pushing cars, Also drifting corners and hitting jumps is fun. There are a few Riddler challenges and story missions that build some puzzles around the Batmobile witch can get boring and repetitive but still nice to see them work the vehicle into some puzzles. The game is also full of things to do with tons of side missions to track down and finish, from Hostage's to save,Murders to Solve or other villains to hunt down and lock up. Some of the villains only make what seem like cameo appearances in the Gotham's Most Wanted Missions, which seems kind of like a missed opportunity in some cases, but overall they really serve to tie up loose ends from the previous games.

I was a little disappointed in the climax of the story, and hoped that my assumptions of who the Arkham Knight was wouldn't be right (they were by the way), but it didn't necessarily take away from how good the game plays and feels. The combat and predator sections are challenging, and offer some pretty interesting encounters through out the game, which helps the over all experience for those who love the combat system. One thing that felt over used, which seems to be a commonality, is the overuse of the Batmobile and how overpowered it can feel compared to the rest of the vehicles in Gotham. I never failed a combat challenge in the Batmobile, so that's something I guess.

Overall, I'd say that if you enjoy the previous games and want to see the conclusion of the series, I would say that the $60 is well worth the cost compared to what's delivered. If you're on the fence, you can wait till the price drop in a few months, or wait a year till the GOTY edition comes out with the DLC.

    - You depend on bat mobile to do things all the time and the car is overused - NONSENSE that dependes on how much you will want to use the car. Of course there are missions in which is required, but not obligatory

    - Odd design - NONSENSE - Game is looking good as hell, both in immersion and artistically speaking, and you don`t need to be an expert in art design to know it

    - Story is bad compared to the previous ones - Ok, Im not gonna spoil anything, but if you played batman arkham asylum, and payed attention, as well as if you payed attention on Arkham City, you will notice that this is the way the plot was suppose to be. And Rocksteady doest exactly what fans should wait.

Why I rate this game with a high score if I didn't finished?

Because it freaking deserves a 9 at least, if its going to get a 10, well... I have to finish to say if the story will keep like it is now of ir its going to be even more epic, than it changes to 10...

Luckily I was wrong. They deliver once again thanks to a narrative that pulls no punches, expansions on nearly every aspect of the previous games, and one of the most refined gaming experiences ever created. Some might be turned off by some of the changes to the formula, but it is hard to deny the level of quality this game has. It's one of the best open-world experiences on the market and certainly one of the best superhero games of all time.

Gotham a huge place to explore and villains have taken over every nook and cranny. Plenty of side diversions are available that will hours to your playtime. Completing them all will allow you to see the full ending. An extra incentive for doing it all. It's not like we really needed one though. Hunting down all of those Riddler trophies might be a pain at times, but going out of your way to tackle some of those other objectives is often just as fun as the main quest. They usually lead to exciting encounters with classic Batman villains with confrontations that conclude in ways that are untraditional for the series. Arkham Knight sure isn't afraid to surprise you with something new and unexpected form time to time.

As fun as the side-quests are it can be hard to pull yourself away from the main-quest for too long. That's because the story is so fantastic. It's dark, has some great surprises and twists, and shows that Caped Crusader at his most vulnerable. This is one of the most exciting Batman stories ever told, and it's one that will have you dying to see that next cutscene.

The expected elements of the series are present. The gadgets, the fantastic flow of combat, and others are all back once again. Only they never been smoother. Everything feels incredibly. Rocksteady has polished and refined every aspect of the controls and overall fluidity of the experience. Playing it is as smooth as butter. It might even make the previous games feel clunky in comparison.

One of the new additions comes in the form of some new playable characters who team up with Batman in certain encounters. They don't play any differently, but it's fun to play as a different character for a bit and use those flashy team takedowns. The other new addition is the Batmobile. It's a centerpiece of the gameplay experience. The amount of control you have over it is astounding. A good thing as you will be using it frequently. Vehicular combat is a big part of the game. Plenty of puzzles are tide to the machines many capabilities as well.

Some have complained about how much it is utilized in the game, but I personally can't see why. It's a blast to use and adds some variety to the experience that keeps it from being Arkham City 2.0. I honestly don't think this game would have succeeded as well without it, and to be honest most racing games can't handle cars this well.

Rocksteady concludes their story on a very high note. The gameplay is better than ever and Gotham is filled with things to do. The story dives deep into Batman's psyche and leaves us with plenty of unforgettable moments. Some minor annoyances and a few unfortunate technical issues (it freezes from time to time) are present. However the overall polish the game has makes them almost unnoticeable.

This is one of the most fun gaming experiences I have had in years. It nails just about every aspect one could hope for a game to deliver in. It stands out as one of Batman's shining moments. To top things off it is easily the best looking game I have ever played. It delivers in ever category and I can't recommend it highly enough provided you've played the other games (the story really needs to be seen from the beginning). It's been a while since I have been this amazed by a game.

    I give it a near-perfect score of 9.9/10.

Rocksteady have done it again! Arkham Asylum was a fantastic game in every aspect. City came along and improved upon it in every way imaginable. Then Origins came along and did absolutely nothing. So what has Arkham Knight done? Quite a bit, especially for a franchise already close to perfection.

As many reviews are keen to point out, the major addition is the Batmobile. Whilst this has been met with a certain degree of hostility by fans, the addition is not only welcome but also quite necessary if you ask me. Why is this? First of all, it allows for much more gameplay possibilities. Everything from level design, puzzles & collectibles to combat and open-world gameplay become fresh. The Batmobile is not a gimmick, it is genuinely the biggest and greatest addition to the franchise. It acts as both a car and a tank. There are vehicular combat sections (yes, still with a combo system and special weapons/moves), upgrades and some racing sections. The Batmobile is used to its full potential throughout the game - both by side-quests and the main story. The real question is, how has this addition impacted the quality of the game? The answer is: not much at all. Infact, other areas of the game are just as good (mostly), if not better. The combat system is largely the same (after all, they've run out of button combinations for adding any more gadgets or special moves to Batman's plethora of combat options) but there are now special gadget moves that can be activated when the combo meter is full, and you can now juggle enemies after super stun. There are also environmental takedowns (which replace throws - throws themselves are replaced by last-minute counters). The beauty of this combat system is that it has evolved without becoming overly complex or difficult. There's a lot of variety and depth to the combat, it feels more rewarding than ever to keep long combos going. That said, there aren't really any interesting enemies to fight - just your usual stun sticks, ninjas, big guys and riot shields. The biggest addition to the combat is that in some parts you can have Batman fight alongside one of his allies (Nightwing, Robin Catwoman) - so you can do dual takedowns by switching between characters without dropping your combo. This is only really used well for Riddler's side quest, so it's disappointing that such a system is not used more.

I was never a huge fan of the Predator sections as you spend a lot of time sitting around waiting. Arkham Knight adds the ability to chain takedowns, sentry guns, flying drones and enemies not visible by detective mode, as well as a Voice Synthesizer which can be used to order enemies around, and there's some interesting things one can do with this as well as the disruptor. Overall however, although the Predator toolbox has evolved, sadly the game's usage of them is poor. Despite being one of the longest games in the franchise, it has by far the fewest Predator encounters, and the Predator sections that are there are not at all challenging or add anything new or exciting.

So what about the story and side missions? Well, they're both top-quality too. I would argue that the side missions are repetitive and rather dull/lacking in any real story or connection to characters compared to Arkham City, but they're not tedious. The story itself is very good also. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't discuss much about the characters and story here, but it definitely holds up to the high standard set by every other game in the series (including Origins). Major events occur, put it that way. However, despite this, they don't feel quite as dramatic or powerful as they did in Arkham City or even Arkham Origins. It's one of those stories where the first 90% is quite pedestrian and the last 10% everything happens - almost as if it was rushed - without fully tying up loose ends.

One other fairly important thing to note is that there are no real boss fights. There are about 3 of them, and all of them are, you guessed it, glorified hit-and-run with the Batmobile. These are not impressive if I'm honest. They are completely underwhelming and I'm sure many others would agree that this game has the weakest boss fights of them all - because it doesn't really have ANY if we're being brutally honest. If you're expecting encounters with major characters anywhere near as good as Arkham City, you're SOL.

So what's the verdict? If you enjoyed any of the previous games, unless you have a dire hatred of any games involving any sort of vehicular combat or driving sections then you will be hard-pushed to find many flaws with this game. The world is massive, there's lots to do and there's destructible environments. The combat and stealth mechanics as well as the visuals have been stepped up without compromise. The Batmobile is an excellent addition and used in meaningful ways throughout without getting too silly or "jumping the shark". For any fan of the series, it is a must-play.

Unfortunately, the addition of the Batmobile is not a great one and the familiar structure gives off the feeling of deja vu. But the experience is awesome thanks to a terrific story, satisfying combat and an amazing open-world environment. Taking advantage of the current-gen's graphical capabilities, the developers have crafted a visual tour de force. Gotham has a dark cinematic look comparable to the NYC of Snyder's "Watchmen" and the detailed character models are a marvel.

The main plot is similar to the "The Dark Knight Rises" with Gotham being terrorized by Scarecrow and his partner, the Arkham Knight. Of course, it's up to Batman and friends to help put a stop to it. The game's tone is darker than its predecessors, but it's not enough to justify the earned 'M' rating. In fact, there isn't much gore or profanity; just mature themes and the usual action-heavy cartoon violence. In addition to the campaign, Rocksteady has loaded the game with the Challenge Rooms, Riddler puzzles and trophies of past installments. I cannot comment on the season pass since I do not own it, but there are some nice free add-ons including the "Batman V Superman" skin. Overall, "Arkham Knight" is a game that is a must play for fans of the series. It may not dethrone "City" as the best in the trilogy, but it's an excellent accomplishment nevertheless.

Some major villains were left from the lime light this go round but have a dlc bringing them back into Gotham. Gameplay mechanics feel the same as the previous games mostly introducing a huge metal box, the Batmobile. By the end of the game it sure did feel to overstay its welcome, having to use it in most puzzles or buildings but it wasn't a terrible thing. Its the freaking Batmobile. With the size of the new Gotham it was useful to have for traveling. The developers did a really good job adding in more detective moments through the games compared to previous Arkham games, big props for that.
While this game was great and I highly enjoyed it, I cant give it a perfect 10 score. I had a issue with the button layout on the Xbox. The command to bring up my gadget selection just felt out of place.
Movements weren't flushed and smooth. I would try and grapple up to something I'm looking at and fly backwards to a different metal beam. Standing up on small wall and trying to jump down in the subway system caused batman to stutter and not know what to do like a lost puppy.

Although it isn't quite as good as 'Batman: Arkham City (2011)', it ends the story on a solid note and is a fantastic game from the second it begins. Its narrative picks up after the gloomy end of its predecessor, taking things in a somewhat new direction when Scarecrow - one of the highlights of the first game in the series - rolls into Gotham with a plan to bring it to its knees. There are some really interesting characterisations here and the title does quite a bit of exploration when it comes to Batman's innermost fears and anxieties. Of course, it also has a couple of less successful moments. However, the overall thing is compelling and entertaining right the way through. The gameplay is probably the most refined it has ever been, tightening up series-staple mechanics while introducing several new gadgets and abilities. The combat is as deep and fluid as you'd expect, while the predator encounters are as challenging and suspenseful as ever. It's all really exciting and often contextualised within its wider world. That's because this time the entire city is explorable, from its highest rooftops to its shabbiest alleys. Soaring over the rain-soaked city as searchlights blaze their circles into the sky is simply stunning. Beneath its grimy aesthetic, the game really is gorgeous; the jump in generation between this title and the last is evident. The thing's most major new mechanic is the Batmobile, which has proven controversial among fans. Personally, I think it's a great addition. The car mode provokes an intense feeling of speed and the tank mode satisfyingly allows you to deal out some heavy damage. Perhaps it is leaned on a little too heavily in some scripted segments and in some of the Riddler's puzzles, but it's an enjoyable element of the experience that never truly feels cumbersome. Besides, it can launch you into the air, which is indescribably fulfilling. The city itself is peppered with stuff to do, all of which progresses side-plots than can result in you apprehending several well-known villains. This is great because it means that there is no busywork. It really is a treat to see your progress in real time, as Gotham PD fills up with the likes of Two-Face and the Penguin. Of course, there's also the elusive Riddler to contend with. He's put his trophies all over the place yet again and given you another set of lore-based riddles to solve. They're all tied to a series of 'Saw (2004)'-like traps and, this time, the completion of thse bring you one step closer to freeing Catwoman (who has been captured by the rogue and assists you in her own escape). This a great way of making the Riddler stuff seem even more urgent than it has before, as it directly impacts a playable character who is an important part of the series. The game, as a whole, has a strong sense of urgency to it. It supposedly plays out in real time and it pushes the Dark Knight to his limits. It's filled with effective storytelling, engaging characters and exciting gameplay. It's an extremely enjoyable experience. 10/10 Expand

So, the finale of Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy arrived (with a slow whimper on PC) and well, it is bombastic to say the least. Is it good though?
Firstly, the game's story, about Scarecrow's plan to take down Gotham and Batman, is very good. The game's story has enough substance and psychological themes to provide a interesting story, whilst having the massive explosions, cameos off the Batman universe. This is provided through good voice acting with Conroy and Noble having good performances. What prevents this story from really becoming great is two things. First, the story is too linear, and could be better with branching paths. Second, the story sometimes depend on the Batmobile too much. Now, the Batmobile is fantastic, controls in both modes fantastic and being very fun, but has too much to do with the main story.
However, this game shines (ironically enough) through the creation of a dark, gritty City in Gotham. The game's visuals and sound design really help to portray Batman's City as a worn city, taken apart by crime, rioting and anarchism. Gliding over the city shows a great size for the city, with chatter about kids and supercriminals being heard by Batman. The characters add to this, as they are a number of interesting side characters, such as the helpful Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman to the villainous Riddler, Arkham Knight and these characters are involved in a huge number of side missions that make the City feel like a place where characters are existing and actively doing things. These increase the longevity within this sprawling city. AR Challenges add to this, even if they aren't entirely fun due to their separation from the main game.
The big thing about this game is the combat. The Arkham games have always nailed the balance and once again, combat is very fun here. With even more gadgets and abilities to unlock, the combat is even deeper with more variation and higher hit scores whilst maintaining difficulty with varying enemies. Whilst it's hard to remember all these moves, it's still a great joy to kick ass as the caped crusader in fast paced, free flowing, hard hitting combat.
So, The Arkham trilogy has gone out with a great bang. This series has shown the potential in using licenses to great effect and sets the standard for licensed games. That is one of the many things we can thank this franchise for, and in particular, this last game for.

This is one of the best super hero games ever made. With its awesome story, amazing gameplay, and being the batman again. I dont get how people think that this game is disappointing. It is great. Expand

I'm glad I waited a while before reviewing this game.

At first, it can all seem a bit overwhelming. The forcefulness of using the batmobile on missions and the added complexity to the combat system originally led to a great deal of frustration. What start out as frustrating little editions to the combat system, actually end up being the difference between a good combo and a GREAT COMBO.

I do still think the batmobile is forced upon the player a little too much during the main storyline missions, but the side missions that are specifically designed for batmobile combat are highly enjoyable.

The team-up combat was also a fine added feature, but there maybe could have been more with some added variety.

People will get hung up on the whole Arkham Knight issue, but that didn't bother me. Who else could it have been?

I thought the storyline was excellent, almost as good as City.

Overall, a good edition (they say conclusion, but we'll see) to a fantastic gaming series.

I loved this game SOOOOOO MUCH and have replayed it many many times but there is one HUGE thing that pissed me the hell off LACK OF BOSS FIGHTS
I loved the boss fights in the previous games and I would be ok if the thing used to replace the boss fights weren't STEALTH TANK SECTIONS!!!!
What the hell are you doing being stealthy in a FRIGGIN TANK! Don't get me wrong, I actually loved the

Don't get me wrong, I actually loved the bat mobile and fighting the robot tanks as well as the puzzles that you did with the tank
That is literally the only thing that is bad about the game and if they were taken out or replaced with cool boss fights this game would easily get a 10/10
The awesome things: characters villains side missions combat batmobile driving tank battle stealth open world story
The Bad things: stealth tank sections- WHY?!?!??!! Why is this a good idea?

I really enjoyed playing Arkham Knight. I did not play Arkham City or Arkham Asylum, but this game was very much fun to play.

Some of the sidemissions were too repetitive and you have to use the batmobile too often in my opinion, but the combat is good and I liked all the different characters in the game.

Amazing game, one of the best ever! As good as Arkham City! Great visuals, great story, great driving mechanics and controls! Amazing send-off to an amazing series!

I've liked every game in the arkham series. This is a good ending to an amazing trilogy. You play as batman after the scarecrow has released his toxin all over the city. There's a new enemy in Gotham called the Arkham knight and its supposed to be a mystery who it was, but it's pretty obvious. I liked the storey and the graphics are stunning. The only bad experience I have with this game that's worth mentioning is the batman mobile. What was at first the biggest selling point of this game and a cool addition becomes a major flaw. It's overused, which makes the game mundane and repetitive. It could of been implemented way better. Your use the batman mobile in combat more then you use batman. With this major flaw, what could of been a spectacular ending to one of my favorite gaming series becomes just a "good" one.

  1. Somehow, monotone side activities are a perfect match for the game’s atmosphere of bad dream you just can’t wake up from. Disarm a bomb, secure an outpost, disable a watchtower; disarm a bomb, secure an outpost, disable a watchtower; repeat ad nauseam. After 100% completion you’ll feel as tired as Batman himself. An uncompromising, visionary conclusion to Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight is the world's greatest detective in the world's greatest superhero game.

So obviously there were a few things that I didn't like about Arkham Knight and some things that I wished were done better, but overall I did enjoy my time with the game.
