    Its more Assassins Creed. If you like AC, you will overall enjoy this. I know I do. But my reasons for giving in a 7/10 include:
    -unacceptably long load times (like 5 minutes and up after cut scenes)
    -constant, in your face, framerate drops -music pops in and out randomly -easy to jump off a building and fall into the netherworld below Paris until you die and respawn -removal of basic    Its more Assassins Creed.     -removal of basic AC gameplay features like whistling to draw a guard's attention or dual hidden blade actions. why do I have to wait until halfway through the story to unlock guns? Its not like they are hard to come by.
    - finally, and most importantly to me, Ubisoft's continued use of 17/1800s Euro-centric settings. I mean, at least this isnt in North America for the 5th time. But Im sick of only European cultures. Do something different for once! Radically different eras and cultures would be appreciated.
    -oh and one more finally, Ubisoft's continued slow removal of the present day storyline is hugely detrimental. That metanarrative is one of the things that makes me so interested in the franchise and incentives me to continue buying new games.

    One good thing? Arno isnt a complete **** like Edward in AC4 was.    … Expand

    First things first the game looks absolutely stunning, its lighting is incredible, its animations are smooth and feel like they have weight to them, and the city of Paris is extremely detailed, deep and alive, with some stunning vistas and beautifully rendered landmarks.

    With that been said, the technical issues are present and noticeable (although the large problems have been patched).     With that been said, the technical issues are present and noticeable (although the large problems have been patched). Frame rate does often drop when navigating the large crowds, especially when free running near them, and it wasn't uncommon to have the game freeze on occasion (a lot when joining multiplayer).

    Story wise, its good. Not great, but good and enjoyable. Although I imagine this is more the case of long term fans. Arno displays wit, intellect and charm in often delightful fashion and coupled with his traumatic past and love interest it makes him a compelling character, no Ezio by any means, but no Connor either, and someone who I wanted to play as. He is also voiced extremely well throughout his riches, to rags and back to riches revenge story, with Dan Jeannotte providing lots of emotion in his perfect delivery.

    The way Ubisoft have tried to revamp their mission structure is an interesting and welcome change, but even though the conventional tail missions can break into a chase sequence and there are several different ways to kill a target, it does, after the first few assassinations, feel like the same model with the variables changed slightly and it can get to feel a bit repetitive by the end of the 12 hour story playthough.

    The major downside of the story for me was the lack of developed side characters, and by lack of I mean theres only really one, Elise. Your adopted sister/love interest. In the past AC games, particularly in the Ezio trilogy and Black Flag, there was a whole cast of interesting characters who you got to know and love, or hate, such as Leonard DaVinci, Mario Auditore and more recently Blackbeard and Calico Jack.

    And there was more than enough room to do it, there is a whole council of assassins, only two of which you really speak to, and several historical figures, most notably Napoleon Bonaparte, who plays a surprising minor role. You only exchange a few minutes of dialogue with him in the whole game, and despite the seemingly good chemistry no, much needed, friendship is ever formed. It just seems like the writers haven't taken their time to fully explore the exciting period of history and taken away, the potentially very rich, emotional body of the game in exchange for what is really the 'Arno and Elise show'.

    You can now also fully customise your assassins appearance for the first time, choosing various pieces of clothing going from head to toe, each with different stat boots from the last. The idea behind this was to give the player a choice in play style, and it works to an extent. But if you get to grips with the controls and upgrade you're skills, you'll more often than not play the stealth game, and the clothing you're wearing just becomes a choice of aesthetic preference, rather than providing an RPG element to the game. Still, a welcome addition as you can make a pretty badass looking assassin.

    Another large feature added with Unity is the co-op multiplayer, which is fun, and even challenging in the later missions, but is way too short and doesn't extend the longevity of the game as much as I can imagine was intended. Once they're done, they're pretty much done and their allure is gone. You can of course replay them and earn a different reward (for at least three times) or comb over them tirelessly looking for points to upgrade your assassins, but they begin to grate. Quickly. I think in this regard keeping the competitive multiplayer from the last few games, in conjunction with the co-op would have helped, and would have given a bit more gravity to your clothing choices, rather than just picking out which hood goes with your bracers.

    Overall I think the best way to sum up Unity would be, a few opportunities missed, but a great teaser trailer for what the up and coming next gen AC games will offer.

    (And this is definitely the hardcore AC fan side of me, but I really want the next one now.)    … Expand

The first entry in the series exclusively made for next-gen consoles was filled with plenty of bugs and featured a poor framerate on Day One. The game was simply not finished and had to be fixed with a major sized update (6 gigs) several months later. On top of the embarrassingly bad technical issues, "Unity" was also bit of a mess when it came to the map itself which was cluttered with the usual missions seen in previous AC games. After the great and glorious pirate-themed "Black Flag", this is a sequel that pales in comparison due to its restraint and more modest mission design. Yes, "Unity" can be seen as a throwback to the first two games in the series, but it also lacks a great story and well...great gameplay. The new cooperative missions (which there are plenty of) are suppose to be played out with strategy and stealth, but they usually end up as hack 'n slash affairs if you are playing with strangers. There are plenty of beautiful sights to see in "Unity" and the gameplay is decently entertaining, but it doesn't evolve the series in any major way. The game's clunky movement controls and frustrating "trial and error" missions will probably cause some player to quit early. But if you're a die-hard AC fan, you'll most likely do explore everything the game has to offer. Just don't expect a masterpiece. 7.2 out of 10.… Expand

    This game surely must be seen by someone who wants to see the evolution of the seires and a true sequel, but there is no way that it won't disappoint with many of its choices. It is recommended to the fans of the series or even to the people who want to exhibit the potential of their consoles.     As much as it will impress you at one point, it will surely disappoint you in others. Since Ubi has done it again, you might as well be patient and wait for the next (surely improve) installment to feel assassin again. Or wait for Rogue on the PC next month. Surely a better game, though not as much going forward as Unity.    … Expand

But I like Assassin’s Creed for how in-depth the story is for both the Assassin and the character inside the Animus. One thing that I love the most about the Assassin’s Creed games is the places/city’s the game puts you in. But Unity took a different approach and I think they didn’t put enough ‘love’ into the game.

    First off lets state the obvious, the performance. The performance of this game is all over reviews, but what’s so horrible about it and why are people giving it low scores? Me personally… I wouldn’t call it horrible. It is very playable, but there are hiccups and glitches. When running around, climbing, walking through huge crowds, etc, there will be small frame rate drops. By just watching, you can tell the frame rate takes a total on the game. I think Ubisoft pushed this game way too hard, way too early and way too fast with current-gen consoles (Xbox One and PS4).

    Gameplay, missions, cutscenes and in-game money. Gameplay, it’s very weird honestly. When you move in a direction where you want to go while climbing, the character sometimes doesn’t go in that direction. For example, when you try to go inside a window, he jumps on the other side of the window, or he just jumps on top of the window… its just filled with small bugs. Just to throw this in here, ‘sometimes’ there are also audio cut outs when wandering through the city and there is also swimming in this game for those wondering, mostly for those that think you might die in the water, but you won’t die. Missions are widespread throughout the city, they give take advantage of using the whole map. There are 12 Sequences and in each sequence it has around 3–4 missions (maybe more or less). Cut-scenes are amazing like with every Assassin’s Creed game, but it does have a few bugs, like sometimes the characters hair, and outfit accessories just randomly flys and jumps in the air (you can probably find videos about this). Another cut-scene bug is when the AI randomly spawns in the cut-scene. In-game money is hard to come by actually. Money can’t be earned when completing missions… which is really weird. When you upgrade all your skills, and empty your characters ammo/bombs/arrows you will need around 2,500 credits in order to get restocked. Only way to make money is during side missions.

    Where is the Animus by Abstergo? The Animus is nowhere to be found in this game. There are really only two Animus related content in this game. One is small (2–3) cut-scenes with an Animus women employee letting you about a certain mission or telling you little background information on what the Animus is (very weird for new players if they are getting into the Assassin Creed titles with this one as their first). The second Animus related content is when a rift opens in your game, you have to find it and jump through it, then you get put in a different time period, you run around until you find the portal, climb some more, jump in the portal and then your back in the Unity storyline (very weird). Was I the only one that liked the whole in-real life thing they did where you can wander around the Abstergo company like in Assassin’s Creed 2 and Black Flag?

    For the $7.06 (digital code price) that I paid for this game based on its standard ~ $19.99 price (as of 3/16/16), the game was enjoyable but the performance didn’t stop me from playing the game. The storyline was somewhat there (but there could have been more added), background information about the Animus is completely gone, gameplay/missions are fairly long/in-depth and performance is buggy/glitchy but it’s still playable.    … Expand

    AC unity Is a Great game to me it remind me of the best .... the second one i see a lot of Ezio in Arno. The timeline was chosen with perfection. The French Revolution is perfect. The Graphics are Amazing Next Gen is finally here. But sadly Ubisoft manage to release a broken game with glitch and control problem.     Pros:
    * The game looks great. Arno is handsome.
    * Paris really came alive. Crowds add to the vibe. And historical period and references make it an interesting place to be in.
    * Arno is a good protagonist (not a charismatic type like Ezio, more a silent type like Gordon Freeman). Also, Bellec steals a lot of the spotlight.
    * I did enjoy the murder mystery side missions. They're not complex, but make feel the city more lived in (if you allow me to say it like this :)
    * Getting 100% achievements is possible without entering a world of pain (it's not that fun and mostly repetitive though)
    * Assassination missions make a come back from AC1, and they're good. Not Hitman level good, but AC level good. The core mechanics never were a strong part of the series.

    Cons:
    * The game is still glitchy, even 7 years after the release. Don't get me wrong, it's totally playable. Just the immersion breaks regularly. Also, Quick Resume doesn't work in this game. It tries to reconnect to Ubisoft servers and then freezes.
    * In general, the game lack a lot of polish. E.g. character animation are very slow, so I was dropping two smoke bombs instead of one all the time. The characters in crowds spawn sporadically, teleport and change appearance all the time. And this list goes on and on.
    * Free-running feels great for the first hour. But then you realize that entering window and avoiding objects along your route is painful. Every time I was detected due to controls, not my mistakes or lack of tactics. That doesn't motivate you to plat this game like a stealth game.
    * Nostradamus puzzles are a missed opportunity. Like the third of them is great, the other third lazy, and the last third just awful.
    * In general, most of the side missions and coop missions are not that interesting. I think, starting with the next game, I'll stop to aim for 100% completion.    … Expand

    Gorgeous game - Only back from Paris since Monday so the City does hold a special place in my heart. Sadly the picturesque City is about the only thing allowing it to cling onto a 7/10 for me though. Mechanics are good but the frame rate drops with people walking into each other and through walls is not what I want in a next gen game. It also tripped out on me just after the jail scene(in the prologue) and I had to restart the game.

    I'm really starting fear for Ubisoft Montreal. This is just not good enough    … Expand

However it's seems to have left a lot from last gen ac games. Stealth is more pointless with the absent of hiding in bushes, whistle to attract guards and instant assassinate guards when they are aware. The love story between Arno and Eileen's mixes up the usual assassins versus Templar story but the present day sections just prove to be more pointless and unwanted with every entry. What will keep you playing is the missions and coop. They really improved from the mission design of black flag and coop is a blast a you get to watch yourself and others be badasses. It's feels like and action movie playing coop. What will probably turn you off about unity however is how buggy the game feels. Within my 7 hours in game I encountered plenty of lag, glitches animations, unresponsive character, and game crashes. It's surprising to with the downgrade to 900p and 30fps as well as the biggest collection of trailers I've ever seen, I'm surprise it's not smoother. However while this does put a hole in the road, it doesn't mean the roads shut down. It plays like assassins creed and with new feels and animations, it feels like a more unique entry. Still this is a big step back from last years black flag in my opinion as it doesn't bring to much to the table to make itself THE NEXT AC but more of The next-gen ac. Assassins creed unity gets a 7.5 in my opinion as it does give you what you expect but not much more than you might of hoped.… Expand

    This game has every possible feature you could ask for. A big, brilliant looking map, online cooperative play, competitive multiplayer, customizable character. They shot extremely high, and did so admirably. The game fails though, because at the games' core there are huge issues and bugs (at least at launch). The PC falls through the map, which I have had happen in previous AC's, character models are unfinished with textures popping in and the frame rate is shamefully low. To release the game like this is to say, "we'll take our paycheck, and worry about fixing it later." I have a huge issue with this. It's essentially an unfinished product.

    The bain of my existence: MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!!! When I pay my hard earned $$ for a game I don't want to be nickel-and-dimed throughout the experience. The fact they included this makes me hesitant to buy from them in the future. UBISOFT IS JOINING THE DARK SIDE (LIKE EA).

    All in all there is a beautiful game to be enjoyed if you can look past it's major set-backs. (HOPEFULLY) I will be changing this review as patches fix the game's issues. For now 5/10!!!

All you have to do in this game is to assassinate Templars one by one. You run away and keep on doing parkours. You stay in only one city which is Paris, you can't leave this place. It's a good thing I boughtIt doesn't feel like the same as other Assassin's Creed games. Its story felt short and dull. Its graphics are okay but there are some glitches showing up. The gameplay seems boring. All you have to do in this game is to assassinate Templars one by one. You run away and keep on doing parkours.     As a big AC fan i was very excited at what new prospects this game was going to give to the franchise. What new features it will refine and add to the gameplay. What next revelation they were going to add in the story that will make me just dumbfounded for a few hours. Now this game is definitely fun if you enjoy open world free roaming games with tight combat and fluid animations but unfortunately this game marred with a plethora of bugs and glitches. Another thing to note is that the actual advancement to the overarching story outside of the animus is minimal, barely any story is given whatsoever and these mysterious new characters introduced are never expanded upon. Now i maybe in the minority here but i do enjoy the stories in the modern setting and was really excited on seeing how much has happened since Black Flag but unfortunately it was never delivered, it might as well have never been there as the context given to you for why you are in the animus is so minimal you really wouldn't care. As for the story of Arno. It is average at best and very predictable.
    Truthfully if this game didn't have solid gameplay, amazing multiplayer,beautiful graphics and very well done in game score, this game would just be average for at best.    … Expand

    I like this game has beautiful graphics and a good way to combat ... the usual ... The story has a good beginning, but it gets boring plot.
    The cooperative is incredible! But it is not a game of new generation. Possibly the worst of all AC, just a rehash more.
    And the errors that users are suffering AC Unity is very tiring.
    Acceptable 6/10.

    I'm going go out on a limb here and say that most complaining about technical issues are either trolling or didn't update the day one patch as I have had 0 technical problems. As for the game itself they finally got rid of the naval exploration which nearly killed the franchise for me. They seemingly have gone back to the AC roots and gone back to a more AC2 approach to the game. The controls are still pretty clunky making wall traversal, climbing, and jumping rather annoying at times. The healthy no longer regenerates giving the game an added difficulty, however not that much. Streaks are done away with and replaced with the "perfect parry" which adds a little bit more difficulty. ACU has interesting micro-stories in their side missions that add to the development of the true star here, Paris itself. Paris is magnificent, and truly the star of the show. The game is rather decent and my fav AC behind AC2.… Expand

Does it have any huge advancements that wow me? Not especially. Are there plenty of bugs that need to be worked out? Sure. Should Ubisoft have delayed launch to make sure the game was ready?     An enjoyable game despite it's flaws. The setting is great. They've created a large version of Paris during the French Revolution, which is fun to explore. The missions can be challenging but not extremely difficult. On the downside, game load times are long and the game has frozen on me a few times. I also don't like the micro-transaction options that are offered. If I spend $60 on aAn enjoyable game despite it's flaws. The setting is great. En la cuestion tecnica creo que el juego ha mejorado, con esto me refiero a los graficos y a la velocidad de procesamiento con la cual el personaje interactua con su entorno.

    Las batallas en el modo historia se me hacen muuuy repetitivas y falsas, ya que en ocasiones la espada o el arma que este utilizando pasa lejos del cuerpo del rival y aun asi logro asestar un golpe mortal, tambien parecen como si fueran una coreografia, los movimientos son predicibles poco realistas.

    Le pongo un 7 porque le tengo mucho gusto a las versiones anteriores del juego, pero si la calificacion fuera exclusivamente para este titulo, sin dudarlo sería menor.

The second one is a try to add more variety or if you wish "hitmanity'' to killings. I wish more stealth elements and unusual ways to kill primery target will become in future AC. Such as several ways to kill your target in Hitman 2. But it wont. In Syndicate we will see gang wars such as GTA San Andreas I believe. The franchise is dying. We don`t want to run on the roofs any more even if it is a roof of beautiful Paris or Rome ancient buildings. We want revolution in gameplay, different ways to kill your target (direct kill, poisoning, firering, drawning, accident etc), less poison darts (this thing is just ruining the entire fightin part of the game), and (well, that would be fantastic), we want hard and different choices througthout the game, which could make affect on the ending or plot progression.… Expand

    It looks ok but I not the best I have ever seen the one thing that annoyed me was I would jump into places I did not want to go making me fail the mission, also some of missions are repetitive and boring. Some of the main mission are fun and cool. Buy it if your a big assassin's creed fan if not don't buy it.

    After all of the launch glitches were fixed this was actually a solid game. The huge open map (Paris) was super fun to explore and do missions in. The online coop was for sure a step in the right direction. The way AC previously did online games never felt forced because they couldn't think of anything else.     The story/plot: does not revolve around the revolution as much as i hoped, but it rather follows Arno on his personal mission of redemption, it steers clear of the revolution far too often with missions that have no relevance to it or put Arno in the middle of it, making this historical moment take a back seat whereas it should be driving the AcU story wagon. It has good start, middle but a pretty empty ending, although not completely it pulled on my heartstrings rather well.
    The City: OH MY GOD!! If there is one thing the cannot screw up its this, its off the chart beautiful, i usually walk to my missions just to take in the incredible scope, size and DETAIL of this digital Paris, if the main story line keeps away from the revolution the City will drown you in it, especially the co op and heist missions(IF THEY WORK) that are nothing but, about the revolution. tons of stuff to do and all optional if you don't want to you don't need to, simple.
    Combat, Navigation: With a City as beautiful as AcU's Paris one must navigate it like an Assassin to fully enjoy it, and most of the time you will. The controls are still slow to take affect which decreases the overall enjoyment of the game, the combat is still slow and painfully awkward and clumsy, especially in more densely populated areas, the controlled descent is a godsend and works beautifully if appropriately used(helps to plan you're routes, and the new control schematics take some getting used to).
    General stuff: Microtransactions are there, never used them no need, i don't mind their existence as long as they stay useless :), the French Assassins for some reason diched the duble hidden blades for some reason, also no previous gadgets like the hidden gun or the hookblade( just the ''phantom blade'' which is an opportunity lost, if you ask me especially with the different ''skill trees'' which could unlock one off each in their respective tree offering even more variety to our assassins), no ships in this one, makes sense but its sad to see it go nonetheless. The finished version of this Assassins Creed offers a well made story an even better made City and soo soo game paly mechanic. It should've stayed in development a tad longer and some directions should have been different and it would have been my top AC game but alas no, we will still have Brotherhood UBI.    … Expand

    La jouabilité a été reconsidérée et plus orientée infiltration que jamais, en témoigne ce système de combat punitif qui vous invite à le fuir comme la peste... L'interface est bien pensée, l'intelligence artificielle n'a plus rien à voir avec celle (complètement débile) de Black Flag. En vérité (pourtant) la maniabilité reste fidèle à la série : le personnage n'allant pas toujours là où on voudrait qu'il aille et l'architecture particulière de Paris ne se prète pas idéalement à toutes ses gambades.

    La campagne est intéressante dans ses missions mais pas dans son déroulement : comme de coutume dans les AC, elle n'a que peu ou pas d'intérêt en elle-même. Pour être honnête, ça s'est dégradé et Brotherhood était le dernier à faire (un peu) illusion à cet égard. Rien de rédhibitoire cela dit, on est pas dans un jeu de rôle... la personnalisation est quand même très poussée avec tout un arsenal de capacités, de gadgets et d'armes en tous genres.

    On se retrouve dans un AC très agréable à jouer et bourré de contenu et ma foi, ça devrait bien rouler. Sauf que le jeu ramouille sans arrêt (et ramait parfois honteusement avant les patches) et que les temps de chargement entre le lancement initial, les briefings, les cinématiques et les voyages rapides sont horripilants. La musique est discrète, quasiment inexistante et le doublage québécois fait mal aux oreilles. Les bugs -légers mais persistants- sont aussi de la partie et en font l'AC le plus mal fini de la série, sans conteste.

    Unity demeure un bon AC mais aurait mérité une bien meilleure finition ainsi que -peut-on rêver- un personnage féminin jouable ? la si mignonne Elise nous fait d'autant plus regretter cet état de fait. Je ne peux donc dissimuler complètement une petite déception alors qu'en même temps je m'émerveille devant les qualités évidentes du titre. Ubisoft doit à l'avenir s'occuper de son bébé avec une plus grande attention et une plus grande rigueur...    … Expand

Unfortunately, the game launched with numerous bugs and visual glitches that killed the experience. But after the updates that fixed it, "Unity" improved.     The game is essentially A.C. so I don't know why so much hate about Unity , I've been playing it for about 2 hours on a XboxOneFat and while I've experienced some frame drops , the game is totally far from unplayable , the narrative pace is great and it looks and plays fine.

    To be honest, I don't know why the fan have so much hate to this game I mean, maybe it's because I play this game years after his release and I heard that at the release the game was full of bug but for me I enjoy playing this game. For sure not the best assassin creed , but maybe not as bad as the game rating.

Ощущается прямо вот вся эта причастность к реальным событиям. Сюжет игры не самый захватывающий, но вполне себе сносный. Баги все на месте, ура, только даже ради них стоит пройти эту часть))) В Unity впервые мы можем проникать в дома, срезать себе путь через них и это действительно интересно, хотя, например, попасть в то же окно иногда бывает сложнее чем просто обойти дом, это проблемы корявого управления. Основная кампания вкупе с допами и любопытной боевой системой, которая отличается от предыдущих частей как бы-то ни было затягивает. Да это явно не лучшая часть ассасинская, но она не бесит так же как третья или убогая Liberation! Так что как итог: погамали не восторженно, но с интересом.… Expand

All of them received a polarizing reception, but out of these games, Watch Dogs has been my favorite, and Assassin's Creed Unity disappointed me. It had a weak cast, slow and confusing combat system, and a horrendous story. But I have to appreciate for its soundtrack, Paris setting, and the parkour system, which is the best. I'm not the biggest fan of Arno, but he had an interesting backstory, which can possibly lead to a sequel of him against his father's murderer, Shay Patrick Cormac, with the help of Aveline De Grandpre and Connor Kenway. The combat system looked realistic and stylish, but there is no button to dodge bullets or bombs, and Syndicate has significantly improved it. The parkour system had loads of cool moves. Overall, Assassin's Creed Unity has deeply disappointed me, and I'm going to rate it a 6.1/10.    … Expand

This is a better buy in a bargain bin. If you can get it for under $40 then it's a fair investment for the game you get. But in a season with several other worthwhile titles to get for your console (Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Dragon Age, Destiny, Far Cry 4) Assassin's Creed Unity isn't quite the standout I expected it to be and thus am glad I only borrowed the game instead of paying $60 for it.… Expand

    Uplay has been down for most of the day, the companion app refuses to sync to my Xbox and the initiates website appears to have been down since July 2014. All of those pile onto the feeling that this title was rushed out of the gate. It's a damned shame, when the game works, it really works, and you can see glimpses of greatness. Unfortunately, the game is so mired in bugs, a questionable control scheme and a barely coherent story that those glimpses aren't enough to save the title from middling mediocrity.

    It's more and more apparent why AAA studios are imposing release day review embargoes, and it's got nothing to do with assisting the consumer in making informed decisions with their hard earned holiday release cash. I was definitely drinking the kool-aid on this title, even staying up until 3am EST to play when the pre-order unlocked on my Xbox. Ubisoft won't be fooling me again any time soon.    … Expand

Black flag was amazing to me, greatest Pirate game I have ever played. Unity is a return to form for Assassin's Creed with a step back to stealth, with many improvements on detection, a last known position feature, and slightly slower but deadlier gameplay. I enjoy these changes, and they work well with the more sand box style mission design that is now in the game.

    Paris looks amazing, favorite city thus far, and the mobs in the streets (revolution remember?) adds to the living feeling of hte city. Fights break out with other people and they react to each other which is enjoyable. It feels like a city, this time. The 1:1 ratio scale on buildings makes Paris feel like a place rather then a recreation (seeing Notre Dame the first time was jaw dropping).

    The bad: lots of improvements, but no real innovation to say. Its a natural evolution of hte series but it didn't add anything new, just added in features people have been asking for that existed in other games already...like hte RPG skills, weapon upgrades, and variety of armor and weapons with states. Good system and I love it, but not new.

    Last, and this is why I drop this score to a 6. Microtransaction bull crap. Didn't mind it in black flag as it was not in the game experiance, it was a small panel in the main menu. Here? Its in chests that are "special" that you CANNOT open unless you play the phone app. I don't own a smart phone anymore, so I am COMPLETELY locked out of these chests, and as a payoing customer, locking me out of parts of a full product I purchased is bull crap and a bad business practice, alienating customers.    … Expand

    I was looking forward to this new Assassins Creed as it was getting a lot of hype. Unfortunately, the game doesn't really do anything new except for the coop. The main story was unbelievably slow and boring. It felt like all the other stories and games except a different location. Not being a fan of the series, it didn't do anything to convert me. I'm sure fans will enjoy it though.

From the naval combat, to the mature story, to the combat, to the RPG skill elements. All of that is either missing or downgraded in Unity. That includes the combat, which keeps it's clunky feel without giving you the reward of countering. Instead it quicklyComparing this installment to Black Flag is a death sentence. Instead it quickly becomes a tiresome frustrating exercise when encountering tougher enemies. The game forces you to spend hard earned points on perks that don't actually do that much or were staples of previous games.

    There's a new emphasis on multiplayer, which has gone horribly for me so far. One point was placed inside a mission that I had half-completed, and once in, it became clear we'd never finish it, partly due to the absurd combat mechanics. When I exited, I had to start the mission from an earlier point, which I expected would happen.

    I don't think the dev team understands their core audience as well as they thought. By the same token, I may be one of the few that saw Black Flag as the pinnacle of this genre.     Fun-enough, purchased this game once the majority of bugs had been patched. It does not diverse itself enough to be separated from the other Creed titles, and will largely be considered as a forgotten one in the line-up. Unity goes back to the roots, replicated similarities with AC2, without the flavour or sparkle. Unity will be an all-round fun time-fill, nothing more worth noting.

About 10 hours in and I've only done one or two missions that I thought were either broken(Defend a grieving widow while she walks to the grave, except she was never once attacked despite the message "Your Ally is under attack" constantly appearing) or just plain boring. And the city of Paris is beautiful with more highly detailed interiors than ever before. One of the things I enjoy about AC games is seeing how each installment tweaks the combat and game mechanics. In Unity, they've finally made combat a challenge if you aren't careful-no more being unstoppable even if you are outnumbered 20-1. Further mechanical improvements coupled with a great effort to make missions fun and varied have helped create one of the most enjoyable AC experiences I've had in many years.

    And yet I can't justify giving this game a higher score because of some glaring issues. I personally haven't been too bothered by the occasional dropped framerate(my Xbox One seems to handle the game very well for the most part), and those couple of times where I fell through the ground to the infinity below were humorous, as were the occasional NPC glitch where the bag of flowers or newspapers just floats in the air. But the improvements they made in the free running system are voided in many instances of disjointed animation or nonsensical AI interactions. Cannonically, we can always dismiss these as just glitches in the Matrix, er, I mean, the Animus, er, I mean, the Helix(as its called now). But at the end of the day its obvious these problems are simply a result of Ubisoft rushing their product to release before the Holidays, year after year. So while Unity is far from Broken, it lacks the polish AC fans have only dreamed of but never gotten since AC 2.

    And then there's the "micro"transactions(Seriously? $99 for helix points to essentially avoid earning in-game money is just plain gross), the companion app being forced down our throats(not a terrible app but really not something I expected I'd be forced to get if I wanted to open all the chests in the game), and the Initiates website being another necessity if you want access to all in-game content. Oh and then there is of course the Uplay, a THIRD exterior "service" that is required in order to experience all the content you already paid for. Ubisoft was so gratuitous in this game with their monetization that I really have to wonder how far will they go with their next game, and how much longer I want to support such practices. Its mind-blowing how they thought that three out-of-game services wasn't way above and beyond what any normal gamer is interested in. One? I guess that's ok, seems every AAA game is requiring some app these days(much to my annoyance and the detriment of the industry). But three? I don't care how fun your game is Ubisoft, you've just dug yourself a little deeper into your hole of isolation from Assassin's Creed fans(of which I count myself).

    Also, one of the new main features that I was seriously looking forward to was Co-Op, but so far I haven't been able to connect with friends whatsoever. Maybe if Ubisoft spent more resources on multiplayer servers and less on their stupid and pointless app and Uplay and Initiates websites, I would have been able to enjoy the co-op missions with my friends. Instead, I just a "failed to connect message, try again later". Hopefully this issue is fixed quickly and I will be able to play with my friends soon.

    But in the meantime, and despite all the BS that came with Unity, I am having a great time playing and improving my assassin. At the end of the day, having fun is the most important thing about video games, and I hope my review has shown to be fair and balanced. The Assassin's Creed ends with "Nothing is True, Everything is permitted", but for Unity Ubisoft decided to change it to "Nothing is polished, Everything is an opportunity to make a few more dollars". Anyway, just maybe, if Ubisoft can at least fix some of the problems with Unity, I'll see you soon in Paris.    … Expand

    One of the new additions in Unity is the Co-Op Missions, they range from 2-4 player and reward you with new gear and are usually are slightly more difficult. Sadly most the time I disconnected from my group but the ones I did complete where very fun. The most original thing the game does is take to you different eras of time and you do missions on the Eiffel Tower and other historical parts of Paris.
    Overall I feel like Assassin's Creed Unity is wasted potential, Good ideas but poor execution. I hope they keep heading in this direction with the series but work on there bug fixes and creativity.    … Expand

    to top off the slow down in combat , anytime your fighting more then 4 or 5 guys the frame drops slowing things down even more.
    Less tactical options and gadgets - just not as many cool toys available as past games
    The combat itself is also dumbed down , in addition to being slower. Hell even your air assassination is not done right , you land on the guy knocking him to the ground and then you stab him like 2 seconds later.
    The story: Makes you feel like you have no connection to the assassins at all , just your a guy that has the bloodline and your doing it for no other reason then your revenge , your real world story doesn't have much of a connection or impact either ( and i only have like 2 missions left to go) I don't know where this trend of your hero can't be a hero and its cool to just be this anti hero that happens to do good things on the course of doing his selfish **** up thing came from but its played out already. I haven't seen a legit good guy in a video game in years. Especially the AC series .
    Peppershot 6 round pistol is ridiculous , i try not to use it unless someone else pulls out a gun , but when they do instead of having to worry about fighting and having to deal with a guy shooting at me during an enjoyable fight , i just pull it out and level everyone with it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is unfinished, simple as that, which is unfortunate, because the game play is fantastic. Now, before reading keep in mind that this is my first Assassin's Creed game, so all experiences are new, and I must say, the world is amazing, the writing entertaining, the animations brilliant, and the parkour and fighting is great, but the game is plagued with problems.

    First and foremost being the FPS, I was lead to believe that Ubisoft had fixed the problems with the game's performance, yet when I was playing, it was running at what I'd guess to be about an average of 25 FPS, sometimes, rarely, going above to about 30, and sometimes dropping as low as 15, this is very annoying, especially because I spent $600 on a gaming console to avoid these issues.

    This FPS is also annoying because the game's graphics aren't amazing, they aren't bad, not at all, it's just not as amazing as I'd heard. I've also been playing GTA V on the XBone, and it looks just as good, if not better, then Assassin's Creed Unity, and has a stable frame rate, and a bigger map.

    There is also pop-in problems, sometimes as I walk down the street random characters will suddenly change completely, as far as I walking down the street and a dog tuned into a fat guy, that was odd.

    That game's voice acting is also very off, it's not that it's bad, it's actually quite good, it just takes away from the immersion of the game immensely, I'm very happily believing that I'm in the French Revolution, when suddenly someone will speak in a very thick English accent and throw me off, it's an odd choice, having a game set in France not have a single French voice actor.

    The story is also quite cliche, is the first 5 minutes it shows the main character, Arno, as a child with his father, I immediately said, "his dad's going to die," then, about a minute later, his dad dies, and it wasn't surprising in the least.

    And the random NPC's walking around don't seem to be connected with reality, with them constantly glitching, going through walls, and occasionally flying about.

    But it's not to say that the game is awful, the writing is humerus, Arno being a very comedic person, and never failing to make me giggle, and because of his light hearted-ness, when something happens and he get emotional about it, it has a larger impact then it would other wise.

    The animations (on Arno, at least) are fantastic, some of the best I've even seen in a game, flowing perfectly with the game.

    And the game play is great, but that might be an Assassin's Creed overall achievement more then this game's.

    But despite this, the game is still not worth purchasing, and I'm going to be returning it back to JB Hi-Fi and buying Black Flag instead.    … Expand

    The story however is entertaining, in parts very predictable but still solid story. I will say this though. Its not a spoiler but in order to fully understand the Unity story line i would highly recommend playing assassins creed rouge. Its unfortunate that Ubisoft did the story in this style by separating console generations and leaving a big part of unity's story behind in old gen, this annoyed me as i find going back to 360 very difficult to enjoy as much as i do my Xbox One. Yes Unity did have some very big problems with frame rates and glitches but actually the attention to detail in the buildings is fantastic. Unfortunately there were to many problems on releases and the length of time it took to fix them made Assassins Creed Unity very difficult to play and made customers very unhappy. I still play Unity to finish up my achievements and it seems most bugs and frame rate problems have been fixed so im glad people new to this game will not have any problem and can enjoy a decent Assassins Creed title.    … Expand

    Combat is harder, for one. Fighting large groups of enemies is actually difficult, which is the way it should be. It stresses the need for stealth rather than just jumping down from buildings in plain view of enemies. The enemy AI will spot you faster if not blended or out of sight.

    The other positive comes with the storyline assassination missions. Like the original title in the series, the player is given a general area of operations and it's the player's job to decide how to carry out the assassination. In most cases - it's entirely up to the player how to get the job done and there are multiple entryways and exits, meaning multiple methods of assassination.

    Gameplay is spotty and oftentimes, the character will scale the environment when you simply just want to run away on foot. At the same time, descending environments is made a lot easier simply by holding the 'RT' and 'B' buttons - your character will automatically descend to ground level.

    There is no multiplayer. I personally loved the 'Wanted' game mode from Brotherhood and felt it's progressively gotten a little worse but it's still fun to play. So, when I found out there wasn't any kind of competitive multiplayer, I was extremely disappointed. Co-Op missions are decent enough but in all seriousness, are completely irrelevant to the story.    … Expand

    Not a bad game as some would lead you to believe. There are still some drops in framerate but the game can look amazing at times. Multiplayer missions are the best part of the game and I had a lot of fun doing these. Comes with free Dead Kings DLC although this is very puzzle heavy so I didn't enjoy as much.

    Pick it up but only at a cheap price (£10/15)

I'm giving this game a 6, because although I'm not finished with it, I intend to. So while my critique will seem to be focused on the negative, the game isn't awful (or cheap enough) to outright abandon. That being said...

AC: Unity is disappointing, in comparison to others in the series. And mind you, I wasn't blown away by the first, rather enjoyed the second, skipped the third, loved the Black Flag for all the wrong reasons... and then landed here. So it's not like I've always hated or loved them... I've been back and fourth from the beginning. But here are the main complaints I have that put this iteration near the bottom.

    First, and foremost... Unity is so jumbled and disjointed, it's downright confusing at time. Not just mechanics (main mission versus everything else), but story and character development too. From the mechanics side, I know there is the usual "exclamation point" main mission... but one memory in, I'm walking towards that and it's telling me "you should probably have a higher level before continuing." But... how? I just started, I thought. Thankfully, the internet explained that I could ignore that and continue, or do a million other missions. I haven't even been introduced to lockpicking... but I apparently need to do it. Oh look, a murder I can investigate... for some reason. I'm just saying, from a story point, there is no real goal for this character, except the half assed revenge plot going on, but that's nothing I really care about. And from the mechanics, the world is full of point of interest, side missions, creates, sparkly things, etc... but I'm only a couple hours in and I don't know what any of those things are. And the game makes no attempt (at least at this point) to talk about them. Just do them for the sake of doing them, I guess.

    Next foul, in my mind, is the money grab. Well, not really. I don't have a Gold account, so I can't do the multiplayer which, I know... is lame. But I'm a loner, dottie... a rebel. Anyway, the game KNOWS that I'm not on that level, because it tells me every time... so for them to have these red coop missions scattered without allowing me to turn that **** off... it's bothersome.

    Next, the environment and beauty of Paris are problematic for two reasons. One, for as nice as it is to see inside certain buildings, and to see the dirty road, and every box, and crowds of people... I feel my character is sluggish at best. I know, they have to show my guy shoving people out of the way, and smoothly leaping from box to (unintended, **** get the **** down man!) ledges... but that all takes time to animate. So I feel like it's taxing just moving. This is next gen... I shoudla been blown away by the environment AND the performance. And thus far, it's just not smooth.

    Next... the mutha****in Nostadamus side missions. I appreciate (finally) that the game doesn't hold my hand. These are riddles that I have to find the hidden symbols throughout. But, as with the real guy... **** is gibberish. The map doesn't point out street names, so every time (here or in the murder mysteries) they talk about looking int he sewer under Rue ****off... I have no idea where Rue ****off is. Was I supposed to remember... I shouldn't have to google Paris to find out.

    And maybe that's where all this comes from. Black Flag was fun, had new dynamics, and a decent story and character building. This... it's like they said **** all this... you like jumping on buildings... here's some more of that. Oh, you like those wrist knife things... here are those..." Oh yeah! Why the **** do I have to "earn" the ability to sit on a bench?!? What kind of bastard has to be taught that **** No other AC game or game that offered a bench, had you level up to sit the **** down.

    Alright, I'm getting off course here.

    Last rant; they said "paris is huge in this game" and it is. But c'mon... the first thing I did was go to all the high point and sync up. In black Flag... there were one million of those thing on little under 100000 islands (give or take.) If I finish Unity and never leave this Paris... I'll feel really let down.

    Basically, I like it, I don't love it. So how do I sum that up. Okay... here goes.

    You know when you were playing black flag, and you reach the end of the story, and suddenly all that was left to do was find treasures and that shiny triangle things? You ended the game at, what... 94% and now you were just playing to get to that 100%. It was kinda fun, but now it's just a chore.

    That's this game from the getgo. It's a chore. It's a mildy fun, repetitive, chore with no immediate signs of a pay off, with as many mindlessly unecessary tasks thrown in to beef up the game. Don't want to murder anymore? How about you buy and spruce up cafes? ****    … Expand

Just some Co-op missions are good rest is bad and sometimes bugy, One thing I really dislike is when someone who is AFK join you so you can't finish it and even kick him out. Collecting is terrible because you can't buy maps so you have to find everything by yourself and that is impossible. Overall it is good looking game with some good things but everything other is terrible. What really annoyed me is that controls. In 80% of time he is just trying to annoy you like while running he firstly have to jump on every chair, there is stupid climbing he goes everywhere except where you actually want to go, then he stucks in tree and similar things, terrible combat everyone attack at the same time and they are also shooting at you so you can't attack and you just slowly dying.… Expand

    Had they brought a correct level of finition to this opus, my score would be an 8. But now, here we are with the same old game of the licence, more beautiful, slight gameplay changes but that's not enough for me, plus the    I felt a lot of things playing this one. Globally it's a good game and I enjoyed it : good graphics, nice story, a liveful Paris to explore, scenarized sidequests.

    Action paired with history and stealth. As a huge Assassin`s Creed fan, I was a bit disappointed with the development of this series. Sure you have some cool characters, a decent fighting system and a wonderful animated Paris during the french revolution. But you can feel the lack of inspiration while playing for some hours. Entertaining, exciting but not the revolution I wanted.

    Same sh*t as always. Same repetitive, boring missions, same crappy non-historical story and cliched, non-charismatic characters. Game have tons of bugs and glitches. Graphic is only good thing in this game. But framerate and glitches spoil it too.

    Why would you spend $60 on a game that's been out for 5 years? It's just like every other assassin's creed, but with different characters and a different story. But if you want another assassin's creed game, then you really shouldn't be looking at the ratings, because it's going to be the same game every year, and if you like AC, then you'll like this game.

ACU somehow manages to regress to problems that were solved back in AC2 and AC3. Combat is more stale than it has been since AC1, with only a couple animations for each type of attack, which strikes a stark contrast with the swirling melees of AC4 or the parries intoOne step forward, two steps back. Sequels often underperform expectations, it's rare that they underperform their prequels. ACU somehow manages to regress to problems that were solved back in AC2 and AC3. Combat is more stale than it has been since AC1, with only a couple animations for each type of attack, which strikes a stark contrast with the swirling melees of AC4 or the parries into pistol executions of AC2 or the turning an enemy's guns on his friends in AC3. Instead, Unity just turns into a hack and slash with the same approach to pretty much every enemy.

    The globe-trotting beauty of AC4 and the rural twist of AC3 are also lost as we're now stuck in Revolutionary Paris which, while beautiful at first glance, quickly turns very dull with a repetitive city-scape that is as bland as the cities from AC1 (which were mostly limited by the tech of the time). Even worse, the free-running mechanic has gotten much more clunky. Despite the clean, angular streets of Paris (compared to the dynamic and shifting ship combat of AC4) Arno manages to catch himself on every chair and table on every street corner, in between getting caught on the weird two tier rooftops and the frustrating open windows. Add to the mix streets that are more clogged with NPCs than ever before, and just getting from place to place becomes an arduous task.

    The coop mode, while a novel idea, is infuriatingly hard to find players in. Gone too are the interesting side plots and masterful puzzles that ate up my time in Ezio's games. So too is the exciting ship-to-ship combat and boardings of AC4. The convoluted plot of AC4 could be forgiven in the midst of such glorious pirating carnage, but ACU's plot is too single-minded to carry what is the most repetitive AC gameplay in years. It would be hard to justify putting Arno back on a ship, but there are certainly other interesting opportunities for gameplay challenges. The game seems like it might take an interesting turn when Napoleon offers some help (imagine joining Napoleon's armies as they conquer Egypt, Europe, and march on Russia) but I groaned audibly when Arno turns down his offer in order to stay in the same boring Paris.

    There are a few welcome changes, the ability to crouch is an amazingly late addition to a series based on stealth, and the free-run up/down buttons give you more control of Arno so that he doesn't always go flying off a rooftop when you were just trying to get to the balcony below. Even so, the execution is poor, and I've still accidentally jumped off a few perches when I was just trying to get off a railing. The more open approach to assassinations is great, but most of the time the best approach is just to throw on a disguise and walk in the front door.

    The ability to purchase and swap gear anywhere at any time really takes the feel out of the game and makes the many in-game merchants irrelevant. And the upgrades to each weapon and specialization through skills make the game much more limiting since it makes no sense to change from halberds back to swords if you've taken the long-weapon skill bonus and upgraded that weapon. Many of the different pieces of gear have identical stat-lines and seem only to exist for different looks.

    The game seems to have put an awful lot of detail into a few fleeting sequences where Arno explores France in the Industrial Revolution and occupied Paris in World War II, and yet we only linger in those sequences for a few minutes before being plunged back into the tired French Revolution.

    I wish I could like this game more, but it took so many of the gameplay advances from the past three major entries and chucked them out the window. Almost none of the gameplay modes or mechanisms work as well, the side missions are boring, and the plot-line is single-minded. At least they've increasingly done away with the weak present-day sequences that just interrupted the more interesting gameplay. There are a million and one different collectibles to be found in ACU but none of them are worth the time and effort. It's a shame that the coop can't be played with AI buddies when a real partner can't be found. And I'm bored out of my mind with the streets of Paris.    … Expand

    Visuals. Beautiful graphics and environment. Really captivating and engaging story line had me playing "just one more mission" for hours on end. The voice acting was brilliant. The city felt alive, and it was awesome seeing the difference in environments from higher end places to the slums.

    Gameplay was solid, glitches aside. Unlike past AC games, you can actually play it how you want, whether that be stealthily, straight action, range battles, etc. At times the controls were frustrating, but once you get used to it it's not so bad.    … Expand

On the positive side, the game looks beautiful and the interior fidelity of some of France's most historical palaces is unprecedented. Regardless, the game's clear inability to render the massive crowds without the frame rate dropping to under 20 fps shows how incomplete the game really is.

    Don't buy this game. Rent it if you'd like, and see for yourself. You may have fun with the game for five hours, but you surely won't feel compelled to find all the secrets and complete all the side missions. The game is boring, and its technical shortcomings make it difficult to sit through.

    The parkour is the most improved of the entire series to this date. I bought this game late after all the early complaints had been addressed, so my rating is based on the "fixed" version of Unity. The missions are absolutely stupid. I rated only one of the pointless side quests 5 stars; all the rest, including all of the main missions, got a 1 or 2. Mainly, because stealth does not work. For instance, a mission to assassinate someone inside a building crawling with guards. So I'm on a window ledge waiting to kill a guard inside. He walks up, spots me, 100 more guards show up, shooting at me through the wall (apparently the window is 10 feet wide). I crawl a few feet away, be still for a few minutes, and all goes back to normal. Translation: Suspense of disbelief blown. Here I am, an assassin, infiltrating a royal house, clearly up to no good, and the guards just give up after 2 minutes and walk away. I realize the game can't accommodate them actually searching the grounds, but give me a #*@*%^&# break.

    There's no way to attract a guard to come toward your hiding spot. He might just wander by but usually does not. So what can you do? You have to basically complete the missions exactly as the designer intended because there's no way to misdirect a guard to sneak by or kill him silently. It's all just bollocked up and not fun.

    While completing sequence 9, I became so agitated my blood pressure went up, and I just began screaming at the game. Not because I screwed up. This late in the game, I know what the #*@# I'm doing. Because the game does something unbelievably stupid that causes me to restart at the last checkpoint. In other words, I didn't do it EXACTLY the one way it must be done. So much for open world. That's **** There is no open world here, it's a big city scape full of useless treasure chests if you want to waste 50 hours opening up fkg chests. Which gets old after about 1 hour.

    This is yet another example of an Ubisoft game that had so much extraordinary potential--like Splinter Cell Blacklist--but the stealth is completely broken so it's just NOT FUN. Although I quit Blacklist after the first few missions out of utter frustration, I stuck with it in Unity because the story was interesting. The gameplay is the usual horrible Ubisoft **** but the story is enjoyable so I suffered through stupid **** missions created by incompetent designers and playtested by fans rather than real QA people. A real QA team could not have tested this game.

    I will absolutely never touch this game again after having finished it. Never again! Black Flag, though, was enormously fun and replayable. The Ezio series was fun, though it too had enormously frustrating problems with parkour. So there's the rub: Unity fixed most of the serious flaws in parkour, but STILL manages to anger the player into near controller-smashing rage.

    I don't have anger issues. This game brings out rage in me in the same way that a bad driver on the freeway does. It's a justified rage because my best effort has no impact on the situation. So, yeah, that's the best analogy I can think of: Playing a typical AC game is like commuting to work with idiots on the road. At least in AC my life isn't in danger every day, but the emotions are the same.    … Expand

Ubisoft has stripped you of two of your most important combat abilities which is the counter block and the ability to garb another enemy as a human shield to block enemy bullets. The lack of these two vital abilities coupled with the processing power of the xbox one and the playstation 4 which allowed the developers to fit more enemies on screen at one time then ever before is a bad combination. There were times when there were so many enemies on screen that I got killed before I could even get my bearings. The enemies favorite tactic seems to be having half the group come after you with swords while the other half beats you to death with gunshots because there is nothing you can do about it. Because of this design choice you are forced to roll around on the ground like an idiot when you see that someone is trying to shoot at you and while youre making a public spectacle of yourself youre getting torn up by blades. So you can counter a sword strike and take a bunch of bullets in the back or you can roll around and possibly dodge a few bullets but get cut up with swords. Pick your poison. Another odd design choice is in this game is you have to buy different abilities instead of learning them over time. Which I guess will work for some people I mean it kind of gives you a chance to customize your assassins abilities. They have also completely eliminated naval battles which was a major staple in the last few installments. Now I know that this is during the French revolution but I know for a fact that the French had a navy. That brings up another point. Why are you limited to the city of Paris? But the odd design choices are just the tip of the iceberg. Lets talk about the selling point of unity. The multiplayer. Not much can be said nothing good about it anyway. Simply it doesn't work the servers are hit and miss and playing with random people online is a hassle because non one wants to communicate everyone just wants to be Rambo and kill everyone instead of being stealthy and working together. The last thing I want to talk about is of course the terrible game ending glitches. Unity will just randomly stop working. Ive fallen through the world and been stuck running in place on a flat roof top and on more than one occasion ive been unable to climb up the sides of building even though there is clearly a ledge within reach he wont grab it. So overall it was disappointing. Strange design choices and glitches hold this game back and I hope ubisoft dosent repeat this mistake.… Expand

As for the game, it's competent. The only real problem I have is that the difficulty has been ramped up significantly, and not in a good way. The guards in this game (especially the higher level guards) will make you regret **** up, and if you die during an assassination mission, you have to start the whole thing over again. I didn't really give a fuss about his revenge story that's been done before and it's already getting tried by now. Arno's character ark was like watching a old dead tree trying to act for the sake of it.

    Now let's talk about the graphs in the game and I got to say the graphs in the background looked really pretty and I can see a lot of time and effort went into that, but I think the time and effort only went to the graphs and nothing else, because character effect's keep getting all buggy and it's the same with everything else around me. People falling through the ground, buildings acting up on me and people teleporting to different places out of nowhere. It's a mess and some of the graphs looked extremely unfinished.

    The action is okay, nothing really special just the basic action from the past Creed series.

    Overall Unity is a buggy, laughably unfinished mess. It's a real same, this game could have been pretty fantastic revenge story, but the game problems do hold it back and the cracks do show in this one.    … Expand

The weapons were not different enough, and they felt unfair to use depending on the level of what character you engaged in combat with. This was too different from Rogue, and I don't like it.

    Paris shows some promise, but it's hard to enjoy a game when it's so nauseating, even if it does suggest a return to the series' best ideas. Maybe next year. [Issue#119, p.65]
