Apr 2, 2012Rayman 3 HD is a great remake of an amazing classic, but it would have been nice if they could have updated the controls and camera to be just as good as the new graphics.
-
Official Xbox Magazine UKApr 23, 2012A very welcome nostalgia kick. [May 2012, p.99]
-
Mar 22, 2012A solid remasterisation of a classic platformer that remains fully enjoyable, both visually and in terms of gameplay, in this new edition.
-
Apr 13, 2012This was a great game nine years ago, when its formula worked perfectly, but it has aged a lot and is not able to entertain so much as it did. Those who already played it in its original form won't find anything really new in this HD update, but those who didn't have here an interesting platforming game.
-
Mar 26, 2012This game may have an HD upgrade, but it still plays a lot like a game from 2003.
-
Apr 2, 2012High score fiends might like replaying this game, but the lack of ability to go back to earlier levels at will limits the play value.
-
Mar 23, 2012Overall Rayman 3 HD isn't anything new, it is however a worthy re-release of decent platform game. Whether you played the original back in 2003 or not, it is a game worth picking up, especially if you are a fan of platformers.
-
Mar 21, 2012The textures are cleaner, the animation's smooth, and the humor remains, but gameplay is still rooted in 2003.
-
Mar 21, 2012Most will come for the original game, which offers a decent amount of challenge and length and a great deal of variety in its levels. Just go into it knowing that the original game was released back in 2003 – and in spite of the HD upgrade, it feels like it.
-
Mar 20, 2012A direct and technically good HD remaster of the 2003 game, from which it inherits the great sense of humour and longevity, but also flaws like the troublesome camera and controls, together with low quality sound. If you discovered Rayman only with the Origins game and want more of it, it's a suggested buy.
-
Mar 20, 2012Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc HD is the exact same game released in 2003. If you haven't played it in the past, this may be the right occasion. With the addition of high definition.
-
Mar 23, 2012While Rayman is filled with clever dialogue and wonderful music, the gameplay is lacking as racing through levels and mashing the attack button gets old quick.
-
Apr 18, 2012Rayman 3 HD is an old classic platformer, and it plays like one, as it shows its age.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKMay 3, 2012Fighting with an awkward camera system certainly feels a lot more noticeable today than it did back in 2003. [Issue#84, p.105]
-
Apr 24, 2012Rayman 3 isn't a lacking experience because Ubisoft botched the HD conversion, but because the original is simply one of the weakest chapters of the series.
-
Apr 13, 2012In the end, Rayman 3 just doesn't make much sense on the gamescape of 2012. It would have been more logical as a pre-order bonus for Rayman Origins than its own thing. It's a good port of a pretty good game that relies too heavily on combat rather than platforming and should only be experienced by those that can't get enough Rayman.
-
Mar 23, 2012If you crave a Rayman game that mixes a retro vibe with contemporary gameplay and gorgeous graphics, do yourself a favor and opt for last year's stellar Rayman Origins. Rayman 3 HD's dated platformer appeal is a playground strictly for old-school nostalgics seeking a tangible example of how far the genre has evolved.
