A soulless cash-in, Modern Warfare 3 represents everything that is wrong with modern gaming. I have no doubt that it will be showered with 9+ scores, but in reality this is merely a phoned-in recycle of a 4 year old game.

Modern Warfare 2 repackaged as another $60 game.
For the past 3 installments Call of Duty has been the biggest rip-off of the gaming universe, re-using textures, animations and even sounds. These games are nowhere near the $60 price they're advertised for. I hope to see this franchise halt at a dead stop as it's just stagnating.

Same thing, just an expansion pack. The only thing this series is made for is the money now. 20 (TWENTY) DLC packs already confirmed. And ANOTHER Modern Warfare confirmed for next year. This has got to stop

What an absolute mess. At this point, Call of Duty has become another by the numbers, copy and paste shooter franchise. I bought this game expecting something enjoyable and fun. Same graphics, same extremely outdated engine, almost the same multiplayer, short and lame singleplayer.

It's a 60 dollar skin of MW2, what more is there to say? There's no innovation here. With all the money they have been raking in, they're doing nothing but releasing map packs while other developers are creating whole new games.

this game is horrible, the devs should kill themselves, cod needs to die, campaign sucks and is short , copy paste MP, 5 year old graphics, horrible PC port, etc etc

Repacking the same game for the third time in a row. The SP is anemic, MP identical and the DLC gouging of customers remains the same. MW3 should have been sold as 15$ expansion to MW2. There is simply no excuse for the consistent lack of creativity and shady business practices revolving around this series.

Time for a non biased review, from a shooter fan. The game looks and plays like the past 10 games, so it's not original and I detracted points for that. The CoD series is singlehandedly responsible for the dumbing down and destruction of the FPS genre so I detracted points for that. The series is also responsible for giving consumers the most expensive DLC the world has ever known so that'll cost some review points. I wanted to give it one point for having awesome graphics, but then I remembered 90% of the buildings and textures are recycled from previous games so there is nothing original there and I ended up subtracting points for that.

I understand Activision-Blizzard plays harball with popular review companies, so you made the right choice by coming to the user section to get the honest truth!

Just another copy paste of previous games nothing new, it's just the same old with new maps and some better graphics.
Sad to see it has such high sales when it does not even deserve 25% of what it's getting.

    Bad game is bad.

Why are they chargin £50 for this? The same rehashed crap that was released years ago. £50 for a terrible map pack, not to worry they will release some more packs in a few weeks costs £15.

Can't tell you how upset I was with this game. With games like Skyrim and Arkham City adding new stories, innovation and something new. COD sticks to the same overused formula. I've already traded it in.

Someone said it earlier that this is a map pack for MW2. That person was dead on absolutely nothing new except maps and a few new killstreak rewards. This game is definitely not worth $60 anymore its officially classified as a bargain bin game in my books.

Sooooo its the same game as before rehashed over and over again to the point its now tedious, boring, tiresome and old. Single player campaign is lacking when it could have been so much more and multiplayer is is the same as its always been. Except now everyone on the planet starts from zero. Honestly you could have done a mass reset on MW2 and it would be exactly the same.

A stale series is finally getting the criticism it deserves. F**k Activision and their plea. Give this game the low score it deserves. Hopefully this will wake them up and tell them they can't release the same game over and over again every year.

I have played all the CoD video games. This is the most disappointing one after BO and MW2. Looks exactly as CoD 4, with barely any change in mechanics and gameplay. The only good part is the story, but that is easily spoiled because it is so predictable. The graphics are the same as on CoD 4, which came out 4 years ago. I have played about 1h of multiplayer and I am totally sick of it! More campers than ever with a lot of 12 year old kids, way too easy to spawn kill, overpowered weapons etc. I could go on for a whole essay if I would have the energy to. There are a lot of glitches also, of course the game was just released but these are simple, easy glitches that should have been noticed instantly during the beta tests. The maps are all recycled with the same looks as earlier maps, nothing new. I am really disappointed mostly because I waited out in the cold rain for almost 12 hours with my friends and we really were expecting a good game. That this is not. Save your time, go play something else because this is not worth it. At least I can still sell this on eBay for 90% of the money Expand

Call of Duty is merely a dumbed-down experience for a dumb, casual audience. I don't find it surprising that this series sells more in the states. Where it appeals to the majority of teenagers who are under the dilusion that shooters are the best games evar. Lol

The game is absolutely not worth it in the slightest. I'm very tired of these tactical FPS shooters that get released every other month it seems. They all play exactly the same and continue to remove any kind of user based skill or interaction at all in the games and simply reward you for walking around and pressing buttons wildly. As an avid gamer I can't really say anything positive at all about this game or current state of this genre and it is especially disturbing that so many mainstream reviewers ignore all these points. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
