Advanced Warfare is here and sadly it just isn't very good. I recently rented this game hoping it would be better than Ghosts. Boy was I wrong, Ghosts although bad was not nearly as bad as this over-hyped "innovative" shooter. The formula is exactly the same except they added a double jump mechanic that has been well over done in 2014 video games. Advanced Warfare tried to be new by adding the "Exosuit" but it turns out that was a big flop, it feels like your solider is from the Crysis series, not the Call of Duty series. Now for some pros and cons.

    Pros:
    1. The graphics are very good for the most part, especially since it's a cross gen game.
    2. Kevin Spacey has a strong performance in the campaign.
    3. The futuristic environment is pretty cool at times.
    4. Some of the new guns are fun to use.
    5. The multiplayer is fun for a few hours.

    Cons:
    1. Same old Call of Duty gameplay.
    2. Some of the graphics are really ugly when viewed up close, especially the environment.
    3. Weak story.
    4. Switching between grenades is annoying.
    5. Really really bad sound bugs. Entire cutscenes will go silent while the gun fights have bursts of dead silence to full on blasting. It makes having sound on the game almost unbearable, after the fourth mission and this bug happening many times, I finally muted the sound and relied on subtitles the rest of the game.
    6. Easiest Call of Duty to date.
    7. You have to pay for full Zombies, Zombies has always been my favorite game mode and I now can't try it because it costs $15.00.
    8. Survival mode isn't really fun or interesting.

So, there we have it. This game like I said was a rental, I will never purchase the game, or give it another second of my time. Very disappointing for the series, I and many others were hoping change would happen.

Call of Duty : Advanced Warfare is the best game of the whole entire series, just so this review is on my experience on the Xbox 360 version of this game and not the PS4 or the ONE. The campaign is quite good and is in terms with the title but it is more on the realistic side and it really does stand up to the name "ADVANCED WARFARE". There are different weapons that also contribute to the whole new level of CoD gaming experience. The voice acting of Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey was exceptional. After the release of the game there were lot of questions raised and lots of comparisons made with the game Titan-fall and people thought that the whole multiplayer gaming experience would change and will not be any similar to the previous CoD games, but just to inform you guys that the team in-charge for the making of advanced warfare left and started up their own studio known as Respawn, I am sure most of you guys are very much aware about that. The inclusion of Exo abilities brought in more skills and tactics into the game which none of the other predecessors did which brings us a whole new level of gaming experience. The score streaks are much more different and also the players have the ability to upgrade them even in the Campaign mode. The new "Supply Drop" which is a new reward system that has been included which enables the player to get newer and fiercer weapons without actually buying or redeeming your points. In my opinion AW is a great game maybe not for too long for CoD players but for a three year development, indeed they have done a good job and have introduced us to whole new level, a faster one with comparison to the previous titles. I would give it a 9/10 because of the attempt they have done to make it a fresh CoD game but at the same would be expecting drastic changes to the next title and be looking forward for it to top the first person shooter for many years to come. This game is definitely worth the money and i would recommend CoD players to consider buying it if they are looking for a whole new level and improved Call of Duty Game Expand

When we heard that the new Call of Duty was coming out, many of us were skeptical. Especially when we heard that it would feature grenades that could make you see through walls, and suits that could make you jump over buildings. Many was wary that Call of Duty was turning in to Halo. I was one of them. But just like many others, I was wrong.

I'll start of by saying that Advanced Warfare is an amazing game. It is such a improvement over last year's Ghosts. The campaign is fun again. The multiplayer is better than ever before. And it has a survival mode.

The campaign, that took me roughly between 10-12 hours to complete (I played on Hardened by the way), was everything Ghosts wasn't. The story that features Kevin Spacey was incredibly interesting. The environments aren't as bland as those of Ghosts were.

Then the multiplayer. The multiplayer is faster, and better than ever before. The maps are incredibly diversed and the exo-suits are a welcome addition to the series. It gives you the ability to reach places that you wouldn't normally reach. To me, the multiplayer feels like a combination between that of Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. Even after hours of playing I still wanted to go back for more.

The survival mode in this game is quite similar to that of MW3. But this time there are rounds between where you have to defend a hardpoint or collect a certain amount of dog tags as a team. It brings a nice variety into the mode.

To those planning on getting it on Xbox 360, just note that 4GB is required for a installation to take place. If you have a 4GB Xbox I would recommend a 2.0 USB Flash Drive with enough free space.

At the end, Advanced Warfare is a nice change opposed to the traditional COD-formula. While it still feels exactly like Call of Duty, there is enough new ideas to keep the franchise "fresh". A MUST buy for a COD-fan!

If you don't know why sledgehammer helped make MW3, it was because part of in the infinity ward staff left. They then produced titanfall. This may be why some people are looking at AW as a copy of titanfall. However, if this game was just called 'Advanced Warfare' then I think people would be blown away by this game. The graphics are good, but nothing too great. The multiplayer is great, with new game modes momentum and uplink providing a boost variety of gametypes. But by far the best part of the game, in my opinion, is the campaign.

The campaign isn't long, but rather a medium length. The storyline is intriguing and nails the futuristic feel. The buildings, the clothing, the vehicles, everything has a near future look to it. There are a few points of button mashing that feel like a cover up attempt. Some of these would have looked cooler as a cut scene. That is tripe only thing wrong with the campaign. I personally felt like I was in Mitchell's shoes throughout the duration of the campaign (Mitchell is the protagonist). Each main character has a unique personality. All of this adds up to a great campaign.

No matter what I say people will still criticize this game solely because it says Call of Duty in the title. I am asking you to look past that and buy the game, even if you don't like campaigns this one is superb and is worth the money. Plus it teaches you the new exo suit mechanics. Personally, after playing both games, AW is way better than Titanfall. Titanfall didn't have a campaign, lacks multiplayer game modes, guns, and just tried to run with the whole Titan aspect with nothing else. AW builds around the mechanics of the exo suit and pulls of what titanfall didn't. No game is perfect, but this one is definitely close.

    .
Graphics/Performance: Graphics don't matter to me much, but since this is a cross-gen game, some people may want to know how it compares to the new gen. In my honest opinion, AW has what i would consider above average graphics and shows an improvement from Ghosts. Considering that it is running on the 360, it is actually extremely impressive to me. I'm not saying that this is an amazing looking game, but pretty good for 2014 especially on an old console. The cutscenes in the game look right next to real life and are pleasing to watch due to the motion capture used for it, but in gameplay there is a slight downgrade, but it still does look good for last gen's technology. While a few textures may look a little ugly at times, they aren't too bad, so I think that this was a good step forward in the graphics department. As far as performance goes, on the 360, this runs at a 720p at 60fps which isn't really bad compared to xbox one's 1360x1080 resolution and the ps4's 1080p, but it is slightly noticeable, but not a huge difference.
During the campaign, the framerate would dip at times, but not badly.

Campaign: It is what you would expect from a call of duty campaign, but the future setting felt so realistically created that I had to give props to sledgehammer. The way they imagine 40 years in the future had a great feel to it and I think it was so well done, that it felt different and more immersive than other CoD campaigns . The campaign also shows off the future pretty well and this makes for some pretty fun/interesting moments in gameplay. I would recommend that vets play on higher difficulties because the challenge adds to it well and the whole thing still is as short as you would expect, but I found the story pretty interesting, because it felt real. Also, the voice acting and performance of Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey were great.

Multiplayer: When this game was first revealed, everyone was very skeptical that the futuristic additions would drastically change the way the game played and would no longer be what made Call of Duty what it is. I was skeptical as well, but I when I actually play, the game feels like Call of Duty, yet it feels so different at the same time. You can expect the same game at it's core, which really isn't a bad thing, but the new exo-abilities encourages more tactics, skill and strategy than previous CoDs. I actually felt like I was playing a new game this time around, and I strongly believe this game will be superior to Ghosts in many ways. The pick 10 system from Black ops 2 is now Pick 13. This is due to classes now having their own scorestreaks which is something I've wanted for a long time. scoretreaks have been changed in 2 major ways in AW. The first one is the ability to upgrade them. You can make your scorestreaks stronger by making them cost points more points to earn. The next big addition is being able to use part your teammate's scorestreaks while they use another. Next is supply drops, which is pretty much a loot system that rewards you for playing. No more explanation needed. So far, finding games is, for the most part, quick and I haven't been thrown into games where i've been losing by a mile. Hit detection isn't bad, felt like between ghosts and bo2. AW multiplayer is very good in my opinion.

Exo-Survival: Nothing special. just survival with a hidden 2 minute round of zombies. Not worth buying the game for

Verdict: Even though I think this is one of the better Call of Duty's, I will give it an 8/10 because that does not mean it's amazing. It made the series feel fresh again and made great improvements and obviously benefited from the 3 year development, but in the end, it is just another Call of Duty. Most veterans probably won't be entertained by AW for too long, but I could be wrong. Even so, I hope the other developers see this games success and they try to improve the series even further and make Call of Duty a great series again.

    Should You Buy?
If you want a change from the usual cod gameplay this is a good choice and I would recommend it if you have the money. If not, wait for a price drop, but keep the last CoD you liked because you will still want to play that one occasionally for the classic feel again.

    Last Or New Gen?
It really isn't a drastic difference. Both Generations have the same content, and gameplay, and the graphics are very similar so don't be scared to use last gen! You are not missing out. The platform you choose depends on 3 questions: What are your friends on? Do you want the early Xbox DLC? Do I have a next gen console?

Thank you for reading this long ass review! Please leave feedback and share your opinions of the game as well!

I know I'm not the greatest player in the world, but having aim assist really helped me out, but the complete LACK of it completely kills me. In BO2, MW3 and Ghosts, I could at least be a respectable player, but this I can't get kills with this and everything else I said. Then the classic mode on it is completely boring, as the maps weren't built for it at all. All of the game modes are extremely boring as a matter of fact. The co-op is complete garbage, having to play almost 300 rounds of t for zombies just makes not worth it at all. It is basically Survival and safeguard in one, but it sucks. The campaign was fairly enjoyable, and it is what kept it from a 0 honestly. Going forward, I want to play CoD when playing CoD, not Halo. Expand

With gorgeous graphics and all the features the current gen versions have, it's clear that those of us who have yet to make the jump to Xbox One or PS4 have not been left behind or given a lackluster port. All around it's a great game.

As far as the campaign goes it's mostly just your standard COD affair. However it manages to stay fun thanks to the cool toys it lets us play around with, as well as a great story. The whole thing is really brought to life by the fantastic performances from Troy Baker and Kevin Spacey. There's also some of the best motion capture I've ever seen on display. It's a treat for the eyes. The action-packed gameplay is as entertaining as ever thanks to great set-pieces and excellent level design. I did encounter a few glitches in the campaign. Nothing game-breaking, but one where a large portion of the level failed to show up had me and the AI falling through the game world. This forced me to have to restart the level from the beginning in order to fix it. As a whole though it works and is a very entertaining campaign.

As always the real star of the show here is the multiplayer, and that's where you feel the changes at. The improved mobility and speed make it feel almost like a completely different game, yet at the same time the solid core elements that gamers have come to expect form the series make it feel the same. It excellently captures the core elements of the series while making it feel fresh again. There's reason to be excited here and I find it very addicting. The maps are also all excellent and progression is constantly felt thanks to the fact that you're almost always unlocking something. It's the best the multiplayer has been in years.

That co-op mode is basically what you would expect. You and your buddies fend of waves of enemies while unlocking different things. Every now and then a specific objective will pop-up, and enemies cane be quite a threat, but it's mostly what you would expect from any co-operative COD mode that isn't Zombies. Overall it's solid, but I personally don't see myself messing around with it much.

With enough changes to make it feel fresh there's plenty of reason to get excited for COD again. It might not entirely change your mind if you've completely written off the series a while ago, but those of us who haven't can take pleasure in the fact that this isn't a simple rehash of the formula. There's a genuine feeling of change in this one's multiplayer, and the campaign is quite good. There are some glitches, and the survival mode does fall short, but as a whole it's a great package. One that genuinely makes the series biggest appeal feel fresher than it has in a long time. My total score for the game is an 8.5/10.

Sure there might be a handful here and there, perhaps parents picking the game up for their kids or individuals getting it for their significant others, but the vast majority of players who go out and get a Call of Duty game know exactly what they're getting.

Call of Duty is nothing if not predictably stagnant when it comes to over the top cinematic single player experiences and a multiplayer suite that hasn't substantially changed for the better part of a decade. All you have to know when deciding whether or not to buy a CoD game is to determine whether or not the core mechanics of the franchise are worth dropping $60 on every year. It is entirely up to you.

If you're a fan of the series and said mechanics then this game is probably an 8. If you were once a fan of the series but found that you lost your appetite for it once it became stale then it's probably more akin to a 4. If you find the lack of gameplay advancement repugnant, as many do, then you will absolutely hate it and no doubt join the masses of haters who rate the game with a 0. This naturally begs the question of why you would buy a game you know you're going to hate, but I guess some people get off on that kind of thing.

Tossing the irrational "zero" scores out, lets split the difference on the assumption that you know what you're getting when you buy this game and call it a 6. Buy the ticket take the ride, or don't. It's entirely up to you.

The campaign isn't very well written, though the performances are something worth noting, especially Keven Spacey's performance. The ending was also very linear, and it seemed unfinished. Wow. Played only COD since 2008 modern warfare. Every day. Only COD. This game is frustratingly unplayable. Campaign mode and story are boring, the reason to buy, multiplayer, is laggy, weapons very similar, object collision seems off and the engine deliberately spawns players right behind you. Most deaths are from behind from a new spawn. Lots of camping spots but I don't fault theWow. Played only COD since 2008 modern warfare. Every day. Only COD. This game is frustratingly unplayable. This game is absolutely dreadful for Xbox 360. The graphics are bad and they are bad for even PS2 standards. Multiplayer is full of connection issues. Do not buy this game for past consoles like 360 or PS3.

This review is for anyone who doesn't want to read a review that is a blob of text. EDIT: MY ORIGINAL REVIEW HAD AN ERROR AT THE BEGINNING, SO THIS IS THE SAME THING, BUT WITHOUT IT.

    Story:
+Good for people who are new to AW and need to understand the Exo
+A little longer than most CoD's, which can be a relief to some people
-Story can be a little confusing at some parts, making you wonder where the beginning of the end of the story is or not
-Story is mostly bland, and doesn't have many shocking moments or twists/turns
-Most to all characters are not really memorable
    -Ending isn't really satisfying

    Exo-Survival:
+In-game challenges! They add a new twist and a mission on the battlefield for you to start thinking strategically!
+Vendors are way easier to understand and navigate!
+You now have the ability to choose your own class with built in killstreaks!
-Because of the amount of glitches in the maps, leaderboards are unreliable.

    Multiplayer:
+Sustains the same old CoD feel, still giving you a rush when on a high killstreak, or in a OP killstreak!
+The new Supply Drop system gives players more variety to their arsenal, allowing them to get different rarity in weapons and armor!
+Movement with the Exo feels and handles amazingly! You'll adapt to the Exo in just a game or two!
-Some weapons are overpowered, and some underpowered
-The supply drops can be exploited, by dying first in a fresh game with no kills, or getting first blood
-Some challenges are a little insane to beat, but patches are obviously being handed out

Overall, Advanced Warfare is a solid piece of entertainment. The unfortunate part about the game is that the Campaign is bringing it down, which is unfortunate. But, this game is still good and I fully recommend it to anyone.

I give this game an 8.3/10

This is based soley on multiplayer. Advanced Warfare has the potential to be outstanding, but insane lag and lacklustre weapons leaves something to be desired. Let's get to it.
Multiplayer: 4/10. The creators promised us a change to the classic formula, but the only thing changed is the method of movement; the upside is that we finally get a double jump. My first match in
    AW was great

AW was great with no problems or errors at all. After that, all hell broke loose. Lag makes opponents impossible to kill, and gives them the opportunity to mow you down quickly. Glitchy servers often
result in matches not functioning properly; A lot of times, you get stuck in spectator mode watching a player run up against a wall. These same servers often boot you out of a match, too. Another gripe with AW that I have, is that many weapons can no longer beat an assault rifle at range. Want to beat someone at a long distance with a SMG like you did in all other COD games? Think again, your bullets won't touch that guy over there at all!
Character customisation: 6/10. Helmet and outfit selectors are great, but preset heads just aren't enough. Add some sliders in there!
Graphics: 9/10. Standard COD fare. Insanely detailed environments and characters make the graphics a highlight.
Sound: 10/10. Guns sound great, voices are excellent, and the soundtrack is a blast as usual.
Overall: 5/10. Until the multiplayer is fixed, the score remains an automatic 5. While the sound and graphics are stellar, laggy multiplayer makes this a hit and miss. I recommend this game only if you're a die-hard COD fan.

Multiplayer is unplayable due to some ridiculous matchmaking system whereby if you bought the version with one dlc, it only matches you with the tiny pool of players who also have that one dlc. There is no good fix on 360 except to buy more dlc. The main campaign seems ok, but graphics are so much worse than on next gen. It looks like a ps2 game.
