BF games are made for multiplayer mode. you cannot rate this game for his solo.
    solo mode is a tutorial.
BF3 make his job! the multiplayer is really immersive. we can really play with a team. very good game.

I got that you need to sell you game but don't **** lie to do it. Two sever were not in good working order some release of the game. They have been worlking on them and making them better but the point of the beta was to fix that so they dropped the ball there. Now for all the **** they got right which would be the best multiplayer I have play in sometime. The key to winning is not run out by yourself but using the group to push up and take hold of you enemy, just as I think you would on a real battlefield. The fact that you can now not just speak with your squad but the whole as to tell different squads to watch out or move up adds tons to game play. The jets in air warfare with the helicopters is just amazing also adds to the overall feel of a real battlefield. The fact that they made the controls in a helicopter feel more real helps to keep the bull**** for BC2 from happening I enjoy too. All the addons for guns and vehicles make for interesting game play and the future looks good for the game. The first addon to the game come in December which is 4 new maps, 10 guns, 3 new vehicles also this is free if you bought the game new now like gears3 or mw3 which will ass rape you about 800 msps per 3 map packs. The way this game it meant to be played is with a less a group of 8 good friends because it the way i play and there is no better time playing online with my buds Expand

This game should be called Modern Warfare 2.5.
They have put like 5 new guns, mew maps and like 2 new modes .AMAZING -____- . The graphics are nearly the same as MW2. The 12 year old's are back to ruin a gaming experience that is supposed to e fun. Very disappointing Sledge hammer Games.

Unfortunately the beta was flush with quirks and problems giving many people a very bad opinion of a game that hadn't been released yet. Well I'm happy to say the real game is NOTHING like the Beta. IMO they never should have released that Beta. The campaign is just "OK", the multiplayer is very engaging. I used to be a Call of Duty fan but that series is so stale and recycled, this game is a breath of fresh air. I also notice that younger gamers tend to lean toward Call of Duty while Battlefield tends to attract older gamers which I appreciate. I'm very happy with my purchase. This game definitely pushes the limits of what these old game consoles can do. I believe Battlefield 3 is the reality check that game developers can now produce better software than the hardware can handle and it's time for Microsoft to release a new Xbox. Expand

I have a few issues with the spawning system, surely there has to be a way for the game to recognize that a camper has pitched his tent next to my spawn location (obviously I don't mean using a spawn beacon...that's a crap shoot and completely on me if I get killed spawning on a beacon), but spawning one one of our positions should not be so rigid that someone can just sit and stare at the spawn point. They should also add a training simulator for jets and helicopters...it just feels rude to the rest of your team to try and get on the job training. Otherwise, the game is fantastic. Strong multiplayer experience and incredibly deep unlock system. Expand

The single player is only so-so, battlelog/matchmaking is frustrating (as is almost any system outside Xbox Live, why the hell do they do this?, Why can't I just play against my friends?), and the idea that secondary users will need to purchase an online pass is just another way of ruining its resale value.

Shame on both EA and Activision for trying to squeeze even more money out of consumers.

There are also too many chokepoints and very few places to flank, e.g., Operation Metro on Conquest mode. Destruction is back, but not in the same crazy degree as in BC2. I then tried the bad company 2 beta and thought,ok this might be good.I purchased it on release day and for the last year I've enjoyed many sessions going between Black ops and bad company 2 equally.

When Battlefield 3 came out I couldn't wait to get stuck in,and was grateful that it wasn't the same release date as MW3 so I could hammer it's multiplayer before MW3's release date.
The first thing that I noticed when going online was the awesome map design.Like the Caspian border for example is absolutely epic, with all the trees moving in the wind, the excellent lighting effects and also the streams running through the forest areas.
You jump in a tank at the beginning and all you're team mates are along side in jeeps, humvees, apaches and hornets fly overhead creating an awesome atmosphere.
The campaign mode is pretty good but I tend to think of it as kind of a training mode to prepare new players for the multiplayer.
The graphics are a slight step above bad company 2 which was a very pretty game and it doesn't disappoint.
For the first week of multiplayer the servers went down which was frustrating but now it works flawlessly online and I have never felt any lag on this game because of the dedicated servers.
All of the vehicles feel just right and are very satisfying to use, especially when you try taking control of the skies.
Battlefield encourages teamwork and you are rewarded xp for supplying teammates with health, ammo, repairs or reviving them. When your teammates work together to capture an objective and look after each other this is one of gamings greatest moments and I already have so many funny, embarrassing moments on this game and look forward to many more.

The only negatives I can speak of are the interior of the buildings could be more detailed. The aforementioned servers going down on the first few days.
Also sometimes when running through rubble after a building has collapsed you can get caught up on bits of scenery.

Well that's my verdict and my postman has just popped Skyrim through the door,so it's gonna be a long weekend.
I hope you found this review helpful.

From flying jets or driving tanks is a great experience. The new engine really shows how beautiful a game can look. The lightning is probably the best I've seen and the sounds of the weapons has no equal. Big maps where at anytime can lead to a firefight. It doesn't take 5 minutes to run to a firefight as mentioned by a MW3 developer. You can spawn on your teammates as long as they are alive or if not ride a vehicle to your destination. Matches can play out differently anytime. You can have one game where you used a building to dominate but when you play that map again that building may collapse on you. No place is safe for campers. The air vehicles are a tad bit tricky at first even for BF veterans, but changing the button layout helps immensely. the gameplay does not feel as smooth and polished as a CoD game but that is some of its appeal. The sound is PHENOMENAL to say the least; realistic weapon/vehicle sounds, ambient noise, and dialogue are a delight. When played through a decent 7.1 or 7.2 home theatre system, the audio is compelling. It will make you want to perfect every detail in your HT. i have calibrated my speakers and receiver around 6 times, since buying the game, just to see if i can squeeze out a minuscule improvement. after some glitches are patched and DLC becomes available, this game will be a force to be reckoned with. currently, it is the multiplayer yang to MW3's campaign ying. BF contains a lot more depth in its multiplayer since it is more team based. COD mp is a lot of fun but can get frustrating with the small maps and spawn issues. Those are mainly non-factors in BF since the multiplayer allows the choosing of spawn points and larger areas. The graphics are phenomenal for the environments and weapons and vehicles. The character models imo are very weak and low resolution, especially compared to COD where I think they are very nice looking. The campaign is very weak in Battlefield which is unfortunate because the trailers made it look so great. In fact the campaign is very dull and any attempts they have at making exciting moments fall flat and are just boring. The COD campaign trumps this one delivering a very exciting, cinematic experience. Overall I'd say that if you want the best multiplayer competitive shooter this year get BF. If you want a fun campaign and a faster paced multiplayer then go with COD. Expand

In the daytime? Really? C'mon with that. Deploying planes.
I'm sorry, but the fact of the matter is that in a conflict no air craft carrier is going to be a couple hundred yards off shore. Planes are deployed from a greater distance. In saying that, I believe that it is unfair that the opposing team can strafe your carrier and destroy planes or helos causing you to die as you spawn in them. They need to either move the planes further out and not allow enemy aircraft the ability to venture that far, or do a patch where they can't destroy planes on the deck or the ground. Sniper rifles
I don't know...if I hit a guy with a high caliber sniper rifle and he continues to run full speed, I'm having a problem with that. I don't believe three bullets to the upper body is what is needed to bring him down. Gotta do better with that. Percentages
I like the fact they let you know how much damage you did to the person that killed you, but when I see the "X" flash three times indicating a hit, him only being at 66% upsets me. I don't care what gun you're using, that is crazy.

    GENIUS.

This game is mark of genius.

And like any other review of a game that in my opinion should be multiplayer only, I will NOT be reviewing the single player. But if I did, it would have no effect on this score.

    Lets get right to it

    GAMEPLAY:

Its like a moving symphony, I remember reading up on Grand Theft Auto III just a couple weeks ago. And the man behind the game was asked what makes his game so great. To which he replied "Its not all the systems we have in Grand Theft Auto III that makes the game great, it how all these systems are working together at once, that make the game so great"

And I couldn't have though of a better quote for this game.

Its not the fact that you can sneak around, like your favourite stealth action game character, using a silenced sniper rifle take out enemies from a distance, and then close the game to stab someone in the back. Its not the fact, that when you are shot at, at least for the first time, it scares you so badly, you damn near break the controller trying to go prone, its not the fact that when you are working with three other guys who are all communicating you feel like you are a SWAT team clearing out an area of terrorists, its not the fact that when you have can communicate with your friendly, tanks, harriers, and apache helicopters, to issue an air strike, or a bombing strike on your enemy.

Wait what?! THERE IS KILLSTEAKS IN BATTLEFIELD?

No, there isn't. But you wouldn't believe how many times I've thrown my mic on to tell the attack helicopter pilot I have a tank at B, and my troops are all out of anti-armor weapons. NAME ONE GAME YOU CAN DO THAT IN?! YOU CAN'T HAHAHA

    Continuing on;
Its not the fact that no matter how you play, you always have the potential to help your team out, its not the fact that you can slit the throat of five different enemies whom of which are all standing right next to each other, without a single one of them having any idea whats going on, I feel like I could keep going, but I think I should do the reader a favour by actually going into detail.

First I'm going to start off with my favourite part about this game.

If there was ever a tv show that was just all about guns (I don't watch tv, so if there is one, pretend I said that) this would be the video game for it.

All the guns behave EXACTLY like they do in real life. They all sound EXACTLY like they do in real life, they fire are the same rate and speed as they do in real life, they have the same magazine sizes as they do in real life. They fire the same bullets as they do in real life.

If you wanted, you could look up the list of the gun names in BF3, and then do a google search on the internet for the actual gun, and it would tell you everything you need to know about the gun in the game.

    That to me is impressive.

The most impressive part about that?

The fact that since they've decided to go realistic with the guns, that means that for the first time ever in a online first person shoot (first time ever) DICE can release guns for DLC without having to worry about them being balanced.

Incase you were wondering, thats why you don't get guns in call of duty DLC. Because the guns in call of duty fire "x"% damage. Meaning that if they brought in another gun, they'd either have to redesign every other gun already in the game, or basically make the new gun useless. Which is bring me to my second most favourite thing about this game.

You never feel like you died unfairly.

Now, there was one time where I thought I died unfairly. I hopped into a scout chopper, with chain guns, and some anti-air missiles. I found another helicopter, safe to say, I shot him about 4 times with anti-air missiles, all within a very short amount of time. 2 take down a chopper of that size, so when he didn't go down, I was upset. I figure out that he had engineers that were repairing their helicopter mid air.

    The solution to this problem?

Get about within 10-20 feet of their chopper, and fire those anti-air.

Doesn't even give them a chance to repair hahahaha
I LOVE THIS GAME! There is NEVER a reason in this game why you should do badly. And by that I mean, if you are doing badly, you can chance your strategy, and I guarantee you will immediately improve. Here are the **** part about this game. Now the first you may dismiss, because I do not know whether or not they have fixed it but; Someone people will not die, I recall shooting someone in the head three times in a row with the most high powered sniper rifle, and trust me, even if he had 30 health packs right next to him, he would still die. Also, support class gets mortar. Which means they can sit in their spot, incapable of dieing, and then they sit there for an ENTIRE game, and just wait to get kills. Personally I think its hilarious, that kind of strategy will make the call of duty fans happy.

One thing I have always loved about Battlefield is it stands very far apart from Call of Duty, the guns are by far more realistic acting in the game. COD to me is a cage match of pissed off players literally sprinting around pumping as much lead as possible at one another, but its fun..its entertaining I get it. The thing I absolutely adore about battlefield is the fact you have to play it with a mindset of I can die at any second from any direction. But you can't just run and gun for the most part in battlefield, you have to use your senses, your brain, out smart your opponent. Its not a competition to see who can spray the most lead in hopes of getting the kill, your success falls on your accuracy, your choices of what to do & where to go under heat, and playing resourcefully. Its not just a point your reticule on your opponent and shoot, the bullet trajectory and range is very impressive in this game. Although the maps are smaller and the number of players smaller as well in the console version, which i can understand considering the hardware most computers have today compared to the 360. The game gives you lots of options for server functions and filters to find exactly the type of game you are seeking. The only issue i have ever had with BF and this falls in with many games out there...i wish there was a little piece of software in the game that could safely spawn you into the game without being tossed in between a fire fight or in front of an enemy player. I would invite my friends to the game and have enormous emounts of fun with vehicles, c4, etc. Since the game was released many patches fixed glitches and balanced out some weapons that were pretty annoying/OP. Graphics on PC will obviously be better unless you have a crappy comp but on console theyre still pretty good. This is the first Battfield game is have ever played and I am very impressed considering I come from a halo/cod gaming Backround. DICE is continuing to fix bugs and make the servers better and I have seen the improvements. There really isnt much to say but I do rate games on how fun they are, wether they made me laugh, enjoy myself with gameplay/story/dialogue or screwing around. IMO CoD has onlu beat this game in terms of sales. I would like to see more improvement on this game with servers and glitches. (a lot of ppl are complaining about the squads joining issues and to do that just go to server browser, it's easier for your friends to join you. Also don't get this game without Xbox live, it isn't worth it just for campaign ) I forgot to mention the co op campaign. It is related the to the single player campaign but from different soldiers PoV. While some the missions are a bit boring and cliche, I had fun playing it over and over with my friends. Also no split screening for co op and MP so there is that. Expand

Overall, Battlefield 3 is a good game. It repairs the flaws of the bad company series while upgrading on the good things, however, there's still some good with bad. While destroying a tank, chopper, or jet won't always render you a kill, it's also nice that the pilot of the vehicle has a chance to escape before death. The graphics are amazing even in multiplayer(where the bad company series seemed to have dumbed itself down a bit). The explosions are almost realistic and the destruction of buildings is almost jaw dropping to watch, yet feel a bit limited compared to the destruction in bad company series, in that it's much harder to blow a wall out. That said, it's also a bit more realistic in that aspect. The bullet drop and having to lead targets makes the combat aspects of the game more enjoyable for players like me that understand you're not gonna shoot the guy running across your screen half the map away in the head if you try shooting where he is instead of where he'll be. My issues with the game fall under seperate aspects. The coop. is weak at best, and the campaign feels a bit cod'esk in it's linear playstyle, yet it's still less linear than cod, but more so than the bad company series, still, having a campaign at all in a series that with 1942, vietnam, bf2, and 2142 never had a campaign, it's nice to see they put themselves in that realm and did so in a way to make them a strong competetor against the fps giant that is the cod series. With multiplayer my issues aren't with graphics, physics, or anything like that, but fall more in line with the guns and sites themselves. For instance a sniper will have to compete with bullet drop, where as a player with an assault rifle, shotgun with slugs, smg, or lmg seem to have much less issues with bullet drop. The sniper must aim above you to hit you at a certain distance, yet that guy with the saw can aim staight at you from the same distance and still hit you. it's almost rediculous how accurate weapons like saws and 240s are yet weapons like m4s and m16s are less accurate, which in my experience is just the opposite, bipod or not. Then you come into sites such as the unlocked site for each weapon which is labelled as a night vision sight, yet gives you the view of a thermal site, but yet is still blinded by flashlights and laser pointers the way and actual night vision site would be. It's a bit confusing. Perhaps one of the patches that dice releases should fix the bullet drop of non-snip weapons to be realistic, and perhaps they should give night vision sites the green hue of actual night vision and perhaps add thermal as another site that isnt' blinded by lights and lasers. Oh, and what's up with being blinded by flash lights in broad day light, while standing out in the sun??? Anyone else catch that?? Overall though, battlefield 3 is quite an enjoyable game besides the campaign and coop. As a matter of fact, I can't bring myself to keep playing the same old boring coop rounds over and over again in order to unlock all those weapons. The only one of them that really seems worth it anyway was the rex. Apart from that, I've already pulled several hours out of the game, and still have yet to make a dent in the amount of weapons, gadgets, perks, and vehicle unlocks their are in this game. So i'm knocking off half a point for each of the issues that I have with it. -0.5 for bullet drop on non-snip weapons(not realistic), -0.5 for sites and accuracy of weapons(not realistic), -0.5 for a short campaign(though it's suprising to me for a battlefield to even have a campaign), -0.5 for the weak at best coop. Overall 8. I enjoy it quite a bit, and with the back to karkand map pack we're not only getting 4 new maps, but 3 new vehicles(probably tied specifically to these maps), and 10 new weapons. Lets just hope they bring back the sip line from the battlefield 2 expansion. That would put a whole new twist on a game like this.

The X-box/PS3 experience online is a mixed bag- The pros are the combined arms feel of combat, the variety of maps and game modes, and most importantly the player base. The cons are the unlock system, the 24 player max, and the unlock system.

The highlights of the game occur when you are in a squad of people who are all talking to each other as you move across a map- in my case we took cover in a concrete building only to have a tank burst through the wall. We scattered, shouting "TANK", as the world exploded in shattered concrete and rebar around us. Those moments make the game worth the score alone.

The downside is that new players will find themselves staring into the dark, or into rubble-strewn streets, through iron sites while veterans are peering back through a bipod-stabilized, thermal-vision rifle with a heavy barrel. You'll hop in a tank to rumble across a battlefield with your basic canon as a tank on the other side of the map is firing image-enhanced guided munitions on you. There's a sense of unfairness about it.

    1. Large maps...yeah, yeah it slows down the game sometimes. Guess what that does....makes it more real. More room to move means more room to flank, over bound, shoot and communicate.

    2. Better weapon physics and customization.....bullet drop, loss of kinetic energy at range, shot guns that work past 50ft. For example you can get a 8x scope on your M16, but be prepared take a few shots before the guy goes down.....5.56 doesn't have knock down power over 350 yards. The fact that you can take a AK-74M and add a actual ACOG to it (once you've proved your worth with the weapon) is just cool.

    3. Varying MP sessions....Rush, fast paced survival fest that's a little TDM, a little capture the flag. Conquest, HQ style but the flag placements make you have to choose whether you stay and defend or chase down the next one. TDM......nuff said. Then, to top it off you got squad versions of this all.

    4. Vehicles.....powerful tools that aren't too overpowering and can be taken out with good team work, plus they all drive different and all have their strengths and weaknesses. (i.e. the M1 can take more hits but the T-90, or 72 cant remember, coax can almost shoot straight up for air defense).

There are some issues that have to be worked out like getting in and out of some rooms on some of the maps and debris/object that should be easily scalable or movable being impossible to do either to. Overall though the game delivers a solid shot in the arm for the FPS genre of gaming will probably spend 90% of the holidays in my Xbox.

Issues with multiplayer have been rampant, from servers being down, to voice chat on PS3 being choppy, etc. The takeway from these issues however is the fact that despite how frustrating they can be, I simply cannot justify putting the game down. The graphics look a lot better and brighter, while at the same time the darks are a lot darker and ominous. There is so much depth and customization involved in the multiplayer that the game is hard to put down. Do you feel like sniping, healing? Perhaps a tank is more your style, or a jet, or a helicopter? Grab a gunner seat if you can't pilot. Or perhaps you want to boogie around the landscape with little more than 4 wheels and a prayer. Got that too. The real value in Battlefield is that there are so many strategies and ways to approach a specific map or firefight, and all of them are pretty damned fun. I have no tried single player yet, but I have never cared about single player in any Battlefield game. To me, it simply goes against what Battlefield began as; a great multiplayer experience that allows you to conduct what is arguably the closest demonstration of a war scenario to date. Finally, does it stack up with Modern Warfare 3? I don't know, it depends on how much you like Modern Warfare 2, because that is all that 3 is. Developer DICE rolled the dice with this game, and overall I think time will show they chose wisely with this endeavor. Expand

If you asked me a year ago if I would be playing either Battlefield 3 or MW3 this fall I would have thought the obvious choice was MW3, however this is not the case. This year the fans will speak and hopefully BF will challenge CoD and force them to change up their formula. Kudos to Dice for not letting CoD become the next Madden. Now if only 2K Sports could do an NFL game. Expand

Hands down BF3 is the best and most realistic shooter. If you want 12 year old sand box game then MW3 is the game for you. If you want a realistic, all around awesome game and a game that is made for real gamers then BF3 is it. One last thing...dedicated servers people. No more pubescent a-holes lag switching...enough said.

7.1? If you take out the CoD fanboys its 9.6. Best shooter to date. Out of this world graphics, smooth gameplay, no lag, great community, outstanding multiplayer maps, vehicles, weapons, and equipment. It realistic and will be fun to play for a while.

The campaign for this game is obviously not the main point. People have been saying that the campaign was terrible but honestly i didn't think it was that bad. It still can't compare to call of duty's though. Co op is fun but still not the main point of the game. I really wish they could've added split-screen though. The co op feels made for split screen. The graphics of this game are nowhere near as good as the PC version but I still think its the best looking game on the 360 if you download the texture pack.
Multiplayer- This is the point of Battlefield 3. The maps are nice I like them better than BC2 and everything just feels a bit smoother than BC2. Sure there's a few glitches here and there but nothing real big.
Customization in this game is much better. So much more guns and attachments that theres always something you can unlock soon. Makes the game much more addicting.
Overall I love this game. The multiplayer in this game is unmatched. Though the campaign is a little dissapointing people will be playing this games excellent multiplayer for years to come.

The battlefield moment is a beautiful thing to behold. In my first day of play alone i got into a one on one fight with a helicopter as a foot soldier then i shot two rockets to its tail and down it went with four soldiers inside as it crashed into the cliff beside me, then i layed down anti tank mines over every entrance of one base and then the second i laid the last one down a jeep cameThe battlefield moment is a beautiful thing to behold. Thats multiplayer in a nutshell. Anarchic and beautiful in equal measure. With lots of replayability and unlocks its the main part of the game. The single player tho not quite as memorable is still good as an extra something on the side and shows off the graphics engine better, best viewed as a multiplayer tutorial thats amazingly done. The audio was lagging during the single player and multiplayer, the campaign is disappointing and few coop missions. The story was told in a similar fashion as black ops, a very similar way. The only exciting missions were when you played as the Russians. The characters were not strong enough to make a deep connection with. The coop was fun, but not that many missions. The coop can be beaten in 2 hours on the hardest difficulty. There was really no story to it, but it was fun to play with a friend. The online like i said earlier is great. It is very similar to bad company 2, with additions of new vehicles, weapons and a couple new game modes. Both COD and BF3 are great games. I personally like COD better because of the campaign. Multiplayer however goes to BF3. I am sick of the childish reviews and bashing of both games. Both EA and Activision make awesome games. Yes COD is the same game every year with a couple of new features, but so is every other sequel in a series. Expand

If you're looking for a great single player campaign you're out of luck, rent BF3 or pick it up in the bargain bin. If you're looking for the best online multiplayer action then BF3 is your game hands down.

While Battlefield 3 was aiming to be the biggest name this holiday season, and while it has made strides towards knocking off Modern Warfare 3, it misses the mark. That's not to say it is a bad game, it's a very good one, but the polish and excitement that is found on the Call of Duty series feels missing here. Still, there are much worse games you could end up with this holiday season, and the competition between the two series should heat up significantly in the next few years.

This experience alone sums up what Battlefield 3 is about. It isn't a John Rambo run and gun shooter and it shouldn't really be compared to MW3 in terms of how you play it. For players to truly understand the Battlefield experience you need to embrace the teamwork by joining a squad and calling out your spotted enemies, as after all, sometimes you also need your back covered too.
