Boogie has style, but it unfortunately doesn't have substance. Too bad because this game had the potential to reinvent rhythm titles, but that potential has fallen well short of the mark.
-
Although Boogie disappoints on a few levels, it does offer solace for those seeking more original games for Wii. Boogie shows us that developers are making an effort to look past traditional gameplay and imagine new designs for console gaming fun.
-
If you're very young and easily entertained, Boogie might keep you occupied for a bit. But if you're looking for a game you can enjoy playing with kids or with friends after the pub, this isn't it. Not even after a bucket of Cheeky Vimto.
-
Boogie deserves to be a much better game. The excellent presentation hides a restrictive and basic control system that destroys any fun that might have been had while playing it.
-
Strangely enough, Boogie works well on that extremely low level, EA has nailed the humor and charm with this musical cartoon. The actual game sucks if you’re expecting anything beyond a colorful puppet show.
-
Boogie should be a lesson learned for EA's Casual Entertainment division. Simplifying the controls of a game for new players is a good idea, but the gameplay shouldn't be simplified with them.
-
The fact that this game is fun for exactly 20 minutes, and only in a group of two or more, should keep you from buying this game. In the end, Boogie is light on dancing, light on karaoke -- a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none moment of fluff.
-
The concept of a game that joins dancing and karaoke sounds intriguing on paper, and if Boogie had managed to capitalize on its strange mix of gameplay ideas it might have been pretty enjoyable in practice.
-
I think Boogie is a horrible game. It’s so bad; I’m nearly offended that I even had to play it. Sure it’s aimed squarely at the casual market, but casual gamers aren’t necessarily stupid gamers.
