Twilight Princess is probably the safest, most formulaic of the series, yet it still manages to be a pretty compelling and fun adventure all on its own.

Personally, I found this remaster to have improved things just enough to cement me as a fan of Twilight Princess. The world is far more vibrant than before, and turning off motion controls removes almost all the frustration I experienced with the Wii version. I have an enduring affection for Twilight Princess' idiosyncrasies, creepy Malo Mart and all, and I'm glad we've had the chance to see the title refreshed for the HD generation.

On the whole, these improvements make Twilight Princess HD the best version of the worst modern Zelda game. That said, even a mediocre Zelda game is still pretty fun. If you can get past its tonal oddities and paint-by-numbers structure, it's a good game, but not a great one. I enjoyed it as a cultural artifact, but replaying it made me appreciate that this direction for the series was temporary.

After almost ten years Twilight Princess still is a pretty decent adventure, though not close to being the best in the franchise. The world isn’t that interesting, and the dark story feels a bit outdated compared to more modern titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. And sadly the HD edition leaves us a bit unsatisfied, mostly because the lack of content and the fact that the visuals should be better.

Everybody—Nintendo, players—knows that this is a stopgap in a barren release schedule, but if you’re going to have a stopgap, you might as well give an excellent game the graphical overhaul it lost when Nintendo decided to skip over high-definition.

The textures are cleaned up but the characters models remain unchanged and you can tell its not a current gen game. Alas, if you've never played it before this is the definitive version of the game, but if you have you won't get much new out of this if you still have your wii or gamecube copy Full Review »

Loved it on the wii, still love it now. The graphics upgrade is clearly notable and is very welcome. Buy this game, especially if you missed out before for whatever reason. Don't listen to the haters that think the opening is too long or the tear section is too tedious. I didn't find any problems with these at all, just a little challenging in parts, but integral to the story. Full Review »

An excellent experience! It's a shame the amount of care put into WindWaker HD isn't present here in the graphical presentation. That said itAn excellent experience! It's a shame the amount of care put into WindWaker HD isn't present here in the graphical presentation. That said it still looks great, if inconsistent in areas. This does nothing to bog down what stands as one of the greatest games of the past decade, however. Dark, bizarre, and utterly stunning achievment in gaming.
