star fox zero é um bom game para wii u, a jogabilidade e a falta de inovação deixam um pouco a desejar, porem é muito divertido com fases incríveis e lutas contra bosses muito boas e dublagem espetacular.

I love this game, and I don't really have that much difficulty with the controls. It might seem weird at first, but once you keep playing the game, the motion controls become pretty natural. If you love Starfox 64, then you are absolutely going to love this game. I know I did, and I still have to go down all the alternate paths and find secrets hidden throughout the levels.

A mediocre game at best, this title is further marred by its clunky controls and insufferable camera. Even without these MAJOR issues there simply is not enough content to warrant its price. Definitely not worth $60, not worth your time. Stop lying to yourself and demand more from your games.

Take Star fox 64 and times it by zero and you would have this steaming pile of fox excrement. Don't be fooled by the pretty graphics and reviews, this game is pure garbage and may very well kill the Star Fox franchise as well as being death knell for both Nintendo and Platinum studios.

Well I had nothing to worry about Controls are great Graphics great Love the 60 ish fps. And the music and sound effects are fantastic. really annoying how the game is rated low by the press who can't play it or take the time to master it (really didn't have a problem at all from the start). A must buy for all WiiU owners

You need to pay attention to one screen like watching the road, and keep an eye on the other screen like checking your mirrors and gauges. How long does it take for someone to truly learn to drive a car? The game offers a training mode before you even begin the story, and you are able to replay missions when ever you want; so there is plenty of practice available.
The graphics are good, and are inspired by the previous entries that had the more polygonal figures. The game will throw you into some high paced missions, and some slower ones to vary the gameplay well. There are secrets abound with a level of exploration there, and being a true collector will be a challenge.
The game length is considered short by many, but it isn't much long than Star Fox 64. It is a game that will give a great experience if you want to sit and power through it. However I feel it the replay value is also there for people who want to just sit down and play for an hour or two when they have time.
The co-op is extremely useful for anyone learning to play, and is great for those trying to share the experience with someone else. My experience with co-op was with a young family member. I piloted around to keep us alive, and he shot everything he wanted (had to tell him to not shoot the team members). He had a blast (pun intended).
The age today is filled with people who will 'multitask' between phones, computers, television, games, and everything else in life. Star Fox Zero will put that multitasking ability to the test for anyone that can master the controls. However I get a strong feeling that Star Fox Zero fall in the same category as The Wonderful 101, another Platinum game. A well made game were the controls scared people away.

Star Fox Zero is a great installment in the Star Fox-series, and a lot more "true to its root" then a few of the previous games that came before it.

the biggest hurdle is the controls. Yes, they start out kinda clunky. BUT, truste me on this, once you practice and they "click", they're great and become a extention of yourself. And then, Star Fox Zero starts going from good to great.

The changes to the control scheme will throw any strong star fox player off his usuall game and make it a truly challenging experience. With a bit of time (and not letting anybody talk to you because pure concentrating so much) you get a hang of the amazing controls and make you see why this game is truly a master piece. All though I feel the textures used in the graphics could of been slightly more matured and less childish. This game will have you restarting every level trying to beat the high score. As a day one wiiu owner I've been long awaiting a good game to come to the console. Let me be clear this isn't just an HD remake that Nintendo has been throwing at us but a new level of space fighter in which I feel will probably set some standards for other games. A lot of people complained that they should kept the same control scheme but you'll feel that after a bit of getting used to you will find your self sucked in and feeling as if you're truly piloting the arwing. Also, in couch co-op mode, you can split up the tasks of flying and shooting, which is a good option for making things a little easier.

I also enjoy the immersive effect of having the dialogue come from the GamePad (which serves as the cockpit view), while the external sound effects come from the television. Overall, this game does a great job utilizing the Wii U and pushing it to its limits (yes, this does mean that there are occasionally minor drops in frame rate).

The alternative paths and options for progressing really provide great replay value, and I find myself revisiting certain stages several times before moving on. Some stages, though, I haven't revisited much. This is due in part to their difficulty (asteroid belt, I'm looking at you).

I do think that this game should have included an online dogfighting mode against other players. This seems like a no-brainer! Also, the dialogue and story are cookie-cutter and a bit cheesy, but that's not what I came here for.

Overall, this is a great game that I wholeheartedly recommend.

The arcade fight stick, for example, is a daunting proposition for many of todays gamers who are used to having the basic button layout for a controller.

Star Fox Zero is a game that challenges the current norm of gameplay by adding depth to its basic control scheme. Utilising two screens almost flawlessly, the Wii U gamepad allows for precision shooting from the cockpit of the Arwing while the TV screen offers a cinematic view allowing the player to get a bigger picture as to what's happening around him/her. This can be likened to driving a car and checking the mirrors.

This control scheme works wonders for the series, and the highly precise controls allow for fantastic action sequences as well as fun puzzle segments. Star Fox Zero has utilised the Wii U game pad far better than many previous Wii U titles. To innovate and also pay homage to fans of Lylat Wars is a commendable achievement indeed.

The graphics are dated, held back by poor texture quality and a lack of small detail - But the lighting and colour bring it together to make a very picturesque game that looks gorgeous by the standard of the Wii U hardware.

The co-op adds an extra dimension to the game, as you and your friend can shout at each other as one attempts to aim while the other controls the craft. Couch co-op like this is what I expected from the Wii U, and I'm disappointed to see so few games take advantage of this.

Overall I'm very impressed with Star Fox Zero. The big issue for me is the Nintendo tradition of holding the players hand for a bit too long. I was 4 missions in and still being taught the basics - And this makes the prospect of replayability a little more daunting, sadly, but I do intend to visit every location in the game and see what more the game has to offer.

I like the game a helluva lot. It's challenging and hardcore and I dig almost all of the missions except for the lazy/sloppy space colony level and the Gyro Wing one. Co-op with my bro is great too. The dogfighting in this game is top-notch and I really wish there were online team dogfights. It'll probably never happen but I want multiplayer and new levels (also maybe Macbeth, Solar, and Aquas) as DLC.

The only complaints I have are (A) that I didn't need to hear the same tacky lines I've heard a million times from Star Fox 64, (B) for maybe 3 of the bosses including Andross, the difficulty felt more frustrating/cheap than legitimately challenging, and (C) the Gyro Wing and Walker are awkward to control and didn't need to exist.

It's one thing to get used to the motion controls and using two screens (which work really well IMO and allow for optimal high score runs), but it's quite another to get used to applying them to a variety of vehicles, some of which control differently when they transform, in the middle of high-speed multi-part missions to hit small targets on powerful enemies. I still can't get the hang of going from the Landmaster to the Gravmaster, for instance.

This is definitely the best Star Fox game since Star Fox 64, even if it doesn't eclipse that game in any way other than the ability to move and shoot independently. If the game was nothing but Arwing and Landmaster levels then I would have an easier time recommending it. I think hardcore Star Fox/SF64 players (the kind who regularly score 400+ on SF64's Area 6) would get the most out of the game's challenges. SFZ isn't bad. It just falls short of classic status because the level design is not up to the standards of the twenty-year-old game it's trying to improve on. They succeeded on the control scheme front, but Nintendo and Platinum should have left this one in the oven a bit longer and someone really ought to have told Miyamoto the Walker and Gyro Wing were bad ideas. The most important part of a game is being able to play it. Star Fox Zero is a great game. A spectacular game that, unfortunately is hard to control.

I am one of those nostalgia buyers who remembers loving SF 64 back in the day but was cool to most of the newer star fox games. I did play and beat both Adventure and Assault but both were not quite up to the high standards that 64 set.

I am one of those nostalgia buyers who remembers loving SF 64 back in the day but was cool to most of the newer star fox games. I did play and beat both Adventure and Assault but both were not quite up to the high standards that 64 set.

It's been many years since we have seen a star fox game. I had heard about the controversy about the controls but I disregarded them. I am a gamer and I can get used to any controls. I will love this game.

That is where I was wrong. You see, the motion controls are not the only problem with the basic design philosophy of SFZ. The fire button is the right trigger button, not the A button so your index finger is going to get a work out, especially if you plan to try and rapid fire. And before you ask, no there is no button remapping. You can have any control scheme you want as long as you want the one that the developers want you to have. Maneuvers like the Barrel Roll, Somersault and U-turn are all mapped to the right analog stick. A barrel roll was a single tap away on SF 64 however in SFZ it requires a double tap left and right on the stick. It's far slower and harder to pull off when you're trying to avoid taking a hit.

Next, my issue is with the camera. The motion controls control both the shooting AND the cockpit camera independent of the ship's direction. That means you have a 180 degree view and range to shoot. That sounds great until you realize that you're going to have to keep the camera at weird angles on the boss to know when you're supposed to dodge and shoot. What's worse is that the game is desperate to show you set pieces but the camera is in YOUR control so you can miss critical telegraphs.

The motion control shooting is bad. This is my opinion, but if you don't like motion controls there is nothing for you here. The bosses are designed to take advantage of the above 18 degree firing arc. Flying straight towards the boss will get you shot down 90% of the time. The game encourages strafing and targeting with the game pad. It is literally impossible to defeat many bosses without taking advantage of the firing angles provided with the game pad motion controls so unless Nintendo releases a patch redesigning half of the bosses, there is not going to be an easy fix for this game.

Speaking of bosses, let's talk about them. The first thing you will notice is that many of them are long. Some are over 8 min with multiple phases and a death will force you to repeat the entire fight over again. Many old bosses from SF 64 make their return here but are re imagined. One complaint I have is that their hit boxes are somewhat small and that makes hitting them relatively hard. Also most of the bosses provide cover fire over their weak spot, thus requiring the player to fly parallel to the weak point and use the game pad to rotate to fire rather than the traditional 'point the ship at the weak point and fire' mechanics of most shooters.

One boss in particular gave me problem with a reoccurring area of effect attack that got faster as the boss lost health. I beat it by cheesing the fight and firing from out of range of the shield. The boss couldn't hit me and the hardest part was finding the next weak point. Very boring way compared to the in and out weaving that got me killed but was entertaining.

One last gripe about bosses: Their attacks are very hard to dodge at times. Because of the manual nature of the camera in all range mode (and a complete lack of a radar that SF 64 had) you will easily lose track of the boss and miss critical telegraphs thus getting you hit in the back. Or even if you do see the telegraph, the awkward controls mean that you have to hope to be fast enough to get your input in.

I came into SFZ with no fear. I can master these controls. It will be no problem. But then as I was playing I realized that forcing myself to play this isn't the answer to anything. I was not having fun. I was not enjoying the experience. I was forcing myself to play as if it was a choir.

If you like it good for you, but don't force yourself to like it. This game will never be what it hoped to recreate. You will never be able to kill a couple hours with a SFZ run. You will always have to deal with these controls.

Mario Kart 8 was the savior of the Wii U. Star Fox Zero is what is going to finally kill it. If the control controversy is splitting hardcore gamers, the general public is going to want none of it. And honestly if the NX follows this path, I am thinking about skipping the entire next nintendo generation entirely.

Very underrated game. The controls work perfectly once you get used to them. It's not as easy as pick up and play; this is a game that requires that player to practice a bit before understanding the controls. I think too many people expect instant gratification, hence the low review scores. If you like Star Fox and you're willing to understand complex controls, try this game.

I am utterly shocked at how some people view this game and bash it. What you have here is basically the Star Fox formula, an action packed arcade shooter with on-rail and free roaming segments.

The Controls - So a lot of people are giving Star Fox negative reviews for the controls. I personally love them. They were not distracting for me because I am a veteran at motion controls,

    The Controls -
So a lot of people are giving Star Fox negative reviews for the controls. I personally love them. They were not distracting for me because I am a veteran at motion controls, coming from the Wii and with Splatoon that uses a similar shooting mechanic. It is not a gimmick, it is a design mechanic. Not once did I feel I died because of bad controls or gameplay design, but rather by my mistakes. You really need to get a grasp of the controls to be able to fly like a pro and once you do, let me tell you it is rewarding!!!

    Gameplay -
Star Fox Zero is a great mashup of old and new. You have familiar territory, but if you have played the old games, you will find that the levels are different with some familiar enemies and lots of new ones. Most of the bosses are different too, with some returning with a different take. The gameplay is fast and tight. really smooth with a few drops of framerate when things get really messy, but overall the game is fully playable and VERY fun! What I loved most about this new incarnation is the challenge which is really refreshing.

    Presentation and Story -
The presentation in this game is phenomenal, the feelings I got from the intense dog fights and how the game will cut to slow motion when passing by an enemy ship when in dogfights was so cool. The sound design is also really good in this game and when holding the gamepad while shooting away at enemies I really felt immersed in the world. The story is pretty much the same with enhanced cutscenes. The ending of this game is truly beautiful. I can't explain the feeling I got while listening to Koji Kondo's themes while watching Starfox's fly off into the distance of a beautiful sunset... JUST WOW!!

    Conclusion -
What you have here is an arcade shooter that you can enjoy like a movie, a 1-3 hour campaign with different routes and experiences and secrets to unlock each time you play it. The sound design and music is epic and the presentation to bring it all together had me clapping my hands when I finally beat Andross, it is both exciting and extremely fun with a challenge and learning curve only for the best of the best.

If you like a challenge and something different, I suggest you BUY AND PLAY STARFOX FOR YOURSELF it is a must have if you own a WIIU and this game did not disappoint.

PS: Amiibo is supported and I bought Starfox just to unlock the retro Arwing, and it is BADASS!!!!!! It can also increase the challenge and I highly recommend testing it out if you want more challenge! You can also use Falco to unlock a Black Arwing with it's own rules. Overall a great game!

Game plays perfectly well. As with anything new, there is a challenge and a curve to the input/targeting. Once they are learned, the game becomes a joy. Highly addictive, mentally rewarding, borderline-augmented reality vision from a legendary designer. There are those out there who are more naturally inclined to mastering certain and sometimes very specific input skills. MiyamotoGame plays perfectly well. Highly addictive, mentally rewarding, borderline-augmented reality vision from a legendary designer. There are those out there who are more naturally inclined to mastering certain and sometimes very specific input skills. Miyamoto happens to be one of those people.

The control-mechanic style bears a strong similarity to that of flight and racing sims (maybe that's why Nintendo's sales aren't so good?). It took me about 15 minutes from "power-on" to understanding what was happening. Trust me, though: when it did finally click, it clicked hard. Suddenly I'm soaring and zooming at high speed and great precision in all-range mode, glancing between my top and bottom screens, lining up my next victims. And anytime the gyro starts to get a little wonky? Tap (Y). That's it. You're back on track, cutting and banking through space or atmosphere. Your eyes become quicker to acquire target and environmental data as they sweep between two screens of potentially high cases for over-stimulation. Heck, that has definitely happened to me. So many enemies or targets that you end up losing the mental wave that you were just riding and crashing hard on the surf. So much for chasing that final level-medal; restart.

Folks. Miyamoto knows what he has. Why do you think he stuck to his guns over the controls, supporting Platinum the whole way through (as far as we know at this point). As an aside, after intentionally not playing on release day, the following morning I realized that I must play this game immediately. Miyamoto's professional stake on the line, the life of the franchise questionable, many negative reviews about the controls. Heh, Stephen Totilo with Kotaku.com literally wrote that this may be a "franchise killer." Way to own it, Stephen.

As a long time Nintendo (and classic Star Fox) fan, I was understandably very concerned that Miyamoto had just released something highly visible and potentially devastating. I am very glad to say that he did not.

Everything that can be said about the graphics and the hardware, has been said. I get it, the hardware is sometimes struggling to make two images play out in smooth, colorfully pleasing 60fps. Think about what this is, for the price that it is. If you want to go really deep, look at how this game's revolution parallels the original Star Fox for SNES, and at similar yet contrasting times in the two consoles' very different lives. This minimalist approach to graphic design is by necessity, which gifts us all with this game's revolution.

Yes though, beyond those revolutionary controls (yes, revolutionary), this is a Star Fox 64 Re-Imagining. But don't let that thought end right there!

The hardware is being -really pushed- to pump out something that shouldn't be possible on a console this under-powered and

The controls ARE revolutionary. They show an effective way to draw the player into the game, hence the a'la-AugmentedReality comment above. I don't expect everyone to understand that. There are those in this world who are gifted with naturally expanded minds. Sometimes, certain people can do things that you cannot.

There are also those people who work to expand their minds as they go through life. These people are hard workers. Now, I have to admit that I no longer "possess the time" to play many RPG's like XCX for Wii U. Am I saying that these types of people are also part of the third and final group, which does nothing to develop themselves or overcome the challenge at hand??

...No. How can I? I have no data. But if someone wanted to know my opinion, I would tell them that even though I am naturally lazy, I am enthusiastic about some things. This has led, at various times in my life, to drive me into learning.

Due to a previous skillset, I am lucky enough to experience a game envisioned by an aging, eccentric, funky, funny, serious and humble man whom I have never met. Thanks to him, I am able to play something I would never have expected from the Wii U's tablet gyro. Now I -might- jump ahead and say that this an even better value and experience choice over current and upcoming Virtual Reality options.

But I haven't played any VR besides virtual boy, so...

I will never be one of the "best" gamers. I never have and I never will. But luckily, I do know how to play a few different types of games, sometimes fairly well. I'd like to give thanks to all various flight sims, racing sims, on-rails/off-rails shoot-em-ups such as previous Star Fox's and Space Harrier and oh-what the heck even Virtua Cop!

Anyway, I'm done. Get this game, challenge yourself to "master" it and have a friggin' blast.

Bravo, Mr. Miyamoto. You're keeping the bar raised high.

Ok. I'm legitimately pissed about how people are crapping on this game. Professional gaming sites are being children. Yes, I played the original n64 starfox and enjoyed it. But you know what, I have my nostalgia glasses off and this game is fantastic in gameplay and design. Nintendo likes to push the envelope on innovation and they don't dissapoint with this title. I got used to the controls within 20 minutes. Was there a steep learning curve? Yes. Are childish journalists who don't have any skill at videogames ruining the game for other people that put too much emphasis on reviews? Yes.

This is some of the most fun Ive had with my wii U since purchase and is the exact reason this system was designed.

It disgusts me that sites (Im looking at you polygon) insert their garbage hatred towards this game just because they are being whiney babies that cant look outside the box. I would hate to see this game fail. Its a blast to play and deserves every bit of success. Should not be hampered by complete BS from unprofessional children.

I would give this game a 9/.10. GREAT CONTROLS. Fun arcade style graphics, and fun throwback style to a time when things were simpler and less about holding your hands, and about shooting for a high score. Not everyone has 60 hours to throw into a game experience. I would rather spend 4-8 solid hours playing a great game with great replay value than playing a repetitive POS game that gets squirted out annually from most other companies. Its a real shame...

Ive said my two cents. I how people give this blast of a game a real shot.

This game had a lot of potential but the constantly re orientating game pad reticule that is forced upon you makes it difficult at best, and 2 hit boss mechanics with unavoidable attacks make it extremely frustrating. Additionally the voice acting seems forced and the characters don't act their parts established from previous games. Pick up in the bargain bin but otherwise don't bother.

Star Fox Zero is a wonderful re-imagining of one of the most beloved games in the series, blending elements from its early history in a tasteful manner. The meatier story mode leaves you with a better sense of fulfillment over its predecessors, and while there isn’t an online leaderboard to compare best times or scores, there are other extras to keep you playing. Adapting to the new controls might take more patience than some players are willing to give, but those who stick it out are rewarded with a higher-degree of precision than previously possible. It’s by no means perfect, but it’s safe to say Miyamoto’s latest experiment is a success.

A rather halfhearted remake of a true classic, with less focus on the story of epic teamwork than one would have expected. A frustrating release for the fans, but nonetheless a fine addition to the Wii U roster.

If you can handle the gyroscope, you’re in for a quality thrill ride through the Lylat System, difficult but rewarding.
