    This game makes Sonic '06 look like many good things, such as a masterpiece, the Bayonetta games, the Classic Sonic Trilogy, CD and Mania, and many other things that are better than this pile of excrement.

    Simply put, there are no redeeming qualities in sonic boom. The graphics are poor, the animation is anything but smooth, the framerate hurts your eyes, and the voice acting isn't great either. The music is forgettable as well. At least Sonic '06 had decent music. Do NOT buy this game even at a discount. It's a waste of money and time.

    Don't listen negative people. This game is an awesome spin-off in the series. Yeah, I am talking about the Wii U version, that has a 32 critic-score in this webiste. It's so cool.. The gameplay can't be better. The story and the jokes are actually enjoyable. The exploration is interesting. The running parts look like a racing game (which is actually good for the hedgehog). Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric has infinite amounts of glitches, bad game design, poor writing, awful combat, and boring gameplay. This game is so bad I couldn't make it halfway.     This game is absolutely awful. The gameplay is bland and boring and pretty much ripped from Sonic Unleashed (Which is a MUCH better game by the way), terrible story and frame rate, and there are a ton of glitches. I'd rather you play Sonic 06, and that game is crap, but at least it's better than THIS.

    Tons of bugs and glitches, low frame rate, the fact that the characters won't shut up and even more in this sorry excuse of a game.

    Play any other Sonic game instead of this one.

Missing frames, terrible dialogue, it’s not cleverly written in any way, there is no real threat unless you touch water, the glitches and bugs are so incredibly apparent everywhere, sloppy animation, and uninteresting NPCs.     Ich mag dieses Spiel! Leider wird es wie manch andere Sonic Spiele zu Unrecht tot gehatet... Ich mag das neue Sonic Boom Gameplay, das Spiel hat auch eine schöne Story, guten Humor, gute Musik und auch einige schöne Welten. Und die Bugs stören mich auch kaum! Kein unglaubliches spiel aber Ich hatte viel Spaß mit diesem Spiel!

After the second attempt, it bricked my Wii U. For me, it's complete trash. Even up to that point, the gameplay was stale, repetitive, and just, boring.     It was an interesting project because this game was developed by a person who worked for naughty dog.But this game failed and not because of bugs but because it was boring, if the same sonic adventure was interesting for both small and adults.And this game can only be interesting only to children.

    This sub-franchise in general was only created to satisfy the little kids that liked Sonic '06 and those awful Wii games (except Colors). I gotta admit that this game, along with the TV show made me feel embarassed by being a Sonic fan. Thankfully, Sonic Mania came to clear the damages that this sub-franchise (along with the aforementioned bad games) caused to the Sonic franchise.    … Expand

    It boggles my mind how 100+ people like this game. It's easily one of the worst games I've ever played. The controls are janky, the graphics look like early PS2, story is trash and the game is so acutely unfun. It feels like a LEGO game, starring Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Whoever likes this game is lying, do not, and I mean DO NOT, BUY THIS GODDAMN GAME.

    I genuinely don't get why people hate this game so much. It's fun! I love the feel of it, the controls, the jokes, the animations, the aesthetics of the levels, the only problem is optimization, but I played this game on Cemu, and it's quite decent.

    I really liked this game, the problem is: bugs. There are bugs anywhere. I don't think this game is a Sonic game, because there is no Sonic speed, there is no good music and there is no Super Sonic in the final battle; but, it's a good platform game. I liked the characters, Knuckles is super funny, the story is ok, the level design is ok, but I think could be better on Amy Rose levels...I really liked this game, the problem is: bugs. There are bugs anywhere.     It's not a complete dumpster fire like Sonic 06 in that the core gameplay works and that the cut scenes - like the Sonic Boom TV show - are actually quite well directed and acted. It's sort've a Saturday morning cartoon of a game, it's just like S06 its unfinished.

There is an open world where there is not enough map interface and a large number of NPCs to create the illusion of a living world like in Sonic Adventure, only some characters with sidequests. There is a pumping that almost does not affect the passage of the game.

    I pass it on the emulator and I really like it, I see the unrealized potential of the project (and judging by the history of its development, the publisher himself ruined the entire original idea of the project and in a hurry forced to redo it - you can find this story on the Internet).

    Can call me whatever you want, I think this Sonic Boom game is not bad. Like a platformer this one is pretty normal, combat is feeling good, the story is the best from Sonic Boom srories. For me the biggest problem of this game - diversity, not even bugs, 'cause I didn't fiound them that much.

The 3D is impressive, the characters are creative and like the humour and quirkiness of the story, it is actually very astounding and a bit funny.     This game insulted me. Its first sin is that the characters were redesigned to look more like mutant humans. Secondly, sonic is a platformer, not an adventure game. Then there are the glitches upon glitches upon glitches. Every stage feels the same and the game treats the player as if they are an idiot. It is without a shadow of a doubt, the WORST mainline sonic game.

    I am very pleased to have played this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are very nice and so is the combat. The game has 0 bugs in it and you can play as the speedy blue hedgehog and Amy and knuckles and tails and Eggman and shadow. This is the only good game ever made, this game makes Mario galaxy and Xenoblade 3 look like garbage. This game was so good It cured my ADHD.

    If you think Sonic 2006 was bad, then you haven't played sonic boom rise of lyric. Sonic 2006 was glitchy, but it was glitchy in a fun way (mostly) in this game however, the glitchyness just makes you want to bang your head against the wall. Sonic 2006 was a good game (yes I actually said that) , boom, is so bad, it's evil. It's an unpolished mess. It displays some good ideas, like the open world formula, but it just fails abysmally with boring combat and slow gameplay. And why is knuckles so dumb? Like, what happened? At least they put him back to normal in Sonic forces. The story in this game is just damn right awful, it's worse than Sonic lost world's. The fact that there are a few playable characters is cool, but that's one of the very few positives of this game. This game would have been great if they hadn't stripped it down for the Wii U. Lyric is terribly written and just down right awful. At least the open world is appealing...Kind of. For the most Part, Sonic games are great, this game however...well, I've already told you.… Expand

    no offense to the people who like this game, i grew up try to playing and i remember my mind deteriorating it was sonic was getting run over and i had to watch it

    The game is so confusing that I couldnt keep playing it. Im sorry Sega but I prefer the TV Show than the game.

    Simply put, Sonic Boom is one of the worst Sonic games in recent memory: the concept is bland, the design is awful and the execution is incredibly poor.

    Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric is a real disappointment for Sonic fans. There is basically nothing positive to say about this game. Sonic deserves much better.
