    The game reminds me of Sonic Heroes. Its actually very fun. I don't personally care for the new character designs, so if you can manage to get past that you'll like the game.

    What I played of Sonic Boom was amazing. The story was pretty epic(which I will not spoil you on) and the fact that you can switch characters. is pretty neat. I don't see why all these users hated it.There are a few glitches but i can look past them(Plus you pretty much have to not be playing the game normally to experience glitches)

    I actually enjoy the game for what it is. It takes a very different turn on the Sonic franchise. Not every Sonic game has to stay the same thing over and over again you know.

    This is a different Sonic game that we are used too, but it is also one of the greats. The music is very captivating and sets the mood of the levels, the character development is strong and interactions are comical., The gameplay is fun and intriguing with no bugs and the game looks fine as far as graphics are concerned. I love how you can also play as Amy, Knuckles, and Tails. TheThis is a different Sonic game that we are used too, but it is also one of the greats.     I enjoyed the Combat, comedy and variety of moves and an emphasis on exploration are pretty neat as the original sonic games did have. Also like the humor and quirkiness of story. Don't understand the hate the game is getting. Have played every sonic game and still enjoying it along with new cartoon.

    Fantastic game. Heck, this is more than a game, It's an experience. This game changed my life, man. If it weren't for Bubsy 2, this would be my favorite game of all the times. Characters are great, story was memorable, and the gameplay was fresh and exiting. From the level design to the mechanics every inch of the gameplay was polished and exciting.     Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I don't see what everyone dislikes about this game. Because I had fun throughout the entire game from beginning to end. The characters were likable, the combat was interesting... Maybe not worth a 10, but I just couldn't bear to see it have such a low score. I would recommend it, very solid game.

    Have you seen such a great game based on a TV-show ? Your answer is probably no. Because in Sonic Boom : Rise Of Lyric you will get many ways to experience the game. The memes, the graphics, the story, the voice acting and the cartoony cutscenes will introduce you to an awesome game. This is a game you should buy.

    When my great grandma was in her hospital bed she handed me this game. It was her last breathing gift to me and anyone else. I loved it to bits not only for the great controls but for its lovely graphics. I fell in love with the games funny charm of sonk and friends such as talls and rose.     Sonic boom is very funny. There are a lot of characters in this game but there are only four playable characters. People don’t like this game but it’s very similar of skylanders: we have many characters,we advance in a tiny open world, we have small enigma...But the thing i love is that each character have a special thing: Sonic can run fastly, tails can fly, knuckles can climb on theSonic boom is very funny. Just from the first cutscene, where our beloved hero Sonic dies, this game absorbed me into its grasp. Part of me wanted to turn the game off after seeing this shocking sight; but I was already sucked in. And the more I played, the more I realized this was the greatest experience of my life. The game's vibrant open worlds, the blood-pumping speed sections, the lovable quirky characters, everything about it was perfect. And I could have never seen the twist at the end coming... But I'll let you discover it for yourself. I recommend this game to anyone who has a soul, and enjoys quality entertainment. Please, do yourself a huge favor and buy this game.… Expand

    I love this game it is different from other Sonic games I've played and there are glitches in places but I've seen them in loads of games if you're a fan of Sonic boom I'd give the games a chance there's lots of exploring in this game you get to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and I love the cut scenes and if you don't mind battling lots of lyrics robots and you enjoy Sonic boom II love this game it is different from other Sonic games I've played and there are glitches in places but I've seen them in loads of games if you're a fan of Sonic boom I'd give the games a chance there's lots of exploring in this game you get to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy and I love the cut scenes and if you don't mind battling lots of lyrics robots and you enjoy Sonic boom I think you should give this game a go… Expand

    I don't understand all the negativity. when i played through it I had a good time. It is a great fast pasted open adventure Sonic Game that I really enjoyed. You can play as 4 characters, Sonic Tails Knuckles & Amy and they have their own special abilities.     I really enjoy the open world exploration stages that are really large and fun to explore. I like using the hydro dash to run on water and the zip lines to move across the large worlds quicker. Basically from what i've seen this game is being hated just because it is different. But don't let that get you down. Next time someone says this is a "Bad game" think twice and try it yourself. You may disagree!
    Overall this game does not deserve all the hate and criticism it gets. Yes I am sad about that but yes, I still enjoy the game.    … Expand

It really feels like an adventure, not like a forgettable set of levels, gameplay is very varied, you even get to pilot a submarine. Graphics are pretty good and I'd say they're the best I've seen in a Sonic game, developers really did put CryEngine to good use. I won't lie, there are rough edges and blurry textures at times as well as slight framerate drops, but it doesn't spoil the enjoyment at all. One level even looked like something out of Tron, I was really amazed. Also, I didn't encounter any bugs that didn't allow me to proceed in my playthrough right after the game's launch. Four playable characters are really well done, switching between them feels seamless and natural. Yes, and smashing stuff along with enemies with Amy's hammer feels really satisfying.
    I also liked the exploring and side missions, it's a nice touch that doesn't feel a like chore, it felt like a good Zelda game at times. All in all it's a solid platformer game, maybe it's not what most Sonic fans expected, but you can't please everyone.    … Expand

    people didn't got this point; this is NOT a sonic game this is a game based on sonic boom the TV series and this is the best one of the sonic boom games. fighting: funny enough,story: it's a good story for a game like this, characters: the new designs are very good (shadow is awesome), the graphics remind me a lot the tv series which is good, enjoying running phases, awesome boss battles,people didn't got this point; this is NOT a sonic game this is a game based on sonic boom the TV series and this is the best one of the sonic boom games. fighting: funny enough,story: it's a good story for a game like this, characters: the new designs are very good (shadow is awesome), the graphics remind me a lot the tv series which is good, enjoying running phases, awesome boss battles, perfect multiplayer mode, the dialogues are funny, the platforming is interesting, it controls very well and every character has got his own abilities.

    What a poor game. It doesn't deserve the hate it gets. It's a great Wii U title with great combat (reminiscent of Sonic Unleashed), comedy (reminiscent of every Sonic game starting with Sonic Adventure 2) and graphics (new designs may be a little............). I only faced 3 mandatory glitches, 1 less than my experience with Sonic 06 (another spectacular game)

    This game is a fine platformer, it's just not a sonic game. The jokes are pretty funny, though. The main problem about the game is that it's slow, so you can't run through hub worlds.

    I thought that this game was pretty awesome. The music was great, and the game play was entertaining. It was something new and different. I appreciate the new direction taken with the Sonic universe, and I hope that there are more boom games to come. I did however like the 3ds version better.

    Sonic Boom is a masterpiece.
    It'll make you laugh.
    It will make you cry.
    It will change your life.
    I was on the brink of suicide when my friend came in and said, "man, you gotta play Sonic Boom! Its the best." I did.
    It takes Sonic to the next level, with fun combat, awesome running sections, and a deep emotional story.
    I recommend this game to anyone. 10/10 Game of the year.

    Although there are a few frame rate and bug issues, those aren't that annoying and are usually exaggerated, the combat was pretty fun and the speed sections were also admittedly fun too, the hub worlds are a little confusing at first but I also love them due to exploration.     I actually really liked the game! I enjoyed the exploration and huge hub worlds. The music was good. The voice acting was top notch! The Characters were good. And while the Graphics didn't live up to their full potential, they were okay.

    Did you like sonic's friends commenting on everything they do? Do you like tedious platforming? Do you like an unfinished game? Well if you said yes the you're playing the wrong game. Sonic 06 was far better because I could go fast. 10/10 would cry again.

    This game was really very good. I had low expectations after I was personally unimpressed with Sonic Lost World. I really like this one however. The story is great, the controls are superb and the speed brings back childhood memories of hotwheels cars.

    To counter all the hate towards this game, I will give an in-depth review. I must say that this is a great improvement on the Sonic games of old. The controls were a blast and the gameplay is really fast and challenging without being too difficult. A good mixture! The new character designs take a little while to grow on you, but once they do, you'll be quite pleased. Quite frankly they are a good revamp that trump the hedgehog of old. This is one of the cases where change was much needed. Sonic actually has some cool new moves this time around. With his new Enerbeam, you can do things you would never have imagined doing in the classics! You can climb walls, swim, and design your very own ATV's! I hope they add new features to this fascinating weapon as DLC. It was really entertaining and way past cool. Playing as Knuckles was a little rough I will admit. He can’t glide any more which makes some levels difficult, but burrowing more than makes up for it. He can actually find treasure and digging can be used tactically in boss battles.

    Also, as with any game one of the most important elements is the story. In Rise of Lyric, the plot will really suck you in and is in fact one of the most intriguing in platforming games in recent memory. Unlike previous entries in the series, you no longer search for Chaos Emeralds. Now it's Chaos Crystals, which are way more interesting than silly emeralds! The new villain Lyric was also really memorable in the vein of Hannbial Lector and Vladimir Putin. He's terrifying on a psychological level and hopefully will continue to play a large role in Sonic games to come. Compared to the old games, overall the characters are more fleshed out and actually have depth with three dimensional personalities. I promise you will care for them this time around! When one of the main characters dies (SPOILERS!), you will feel much loss, just like if you had lost a family member. The plot twists really took me by surprise, particularly when the apocalyptic nature of the ancients is revealed. Other than that the dialogue was amusing and heartwarming, while at the same time maintaining an atmosphere of tension and mystery. Much applause must also be directed to the VA in this game. I was able to take them seriously throughout the entirety of the story and not once could I find fault in their performance.

    All in all, it was the little things that helped this new generation of Sonic stand out. The soundtrack was one of the best in ages. The levels where you get to play as Metal Sonic were also a great surprise. I actually wasn't suspecting that and was pleasantly shocked to see this character again and play through his perspective. The physics for the spaceship levels were really entertaining and helped Sonic Boom stand above previous titles in the series. Finally, there were cameos from all sorts of characters in the franchise. Princess Acorn even makes an appearance at the end!

    In conclusion, Rise of Lyric was everything I ever wanted. The game is so good I played it for free. If you haven’t bought it yet, you should. Ignore the hate, and give Rise of Lyric a shot. If you don’t like it, and I know you won’t, you will be one out of a million. Everyone else, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.    … Expand

    This may not be the best sonic game, but, this game show a great story and voice talents.at least this game was better than Sonic The Hedgehog (2006). Don't be a hater.

    This is the closest thing we are getting to having the four most important characters in the Sonic franchise to work together for the first time in a plat former to stop Eggman. By the way, we got a American Classic Sonic, why not Modern? Also Knuckles has the best design in this game because it portrays the true powerhouse he is.     it is a different Sonic game. enjoyed it, i know why people hated it due to framerate drops and clunky controls. but love playing a platformer game. don't know why people just wanted Sonic to run fast and just collect the rings. this can be improve though.

    A brilliant and innovative game that gives a fresh take on sonic with an all new universe. The controls are perfect and it also manages to capture the adrenaline and speed that makes people go to Sonic.

    This game is so bad its fun.. Actually the glitches can give you a couple hours of gameplay XD the combat sucks. You're slow YOU'RE SONIC! SONIC IS FAST BUT NOT IN THIS GAME HE'S SLOW! Still. Get this game. Best. Game. Ever.

There are a lot of good games, games better than Sonic Boom on the console, but this doesn't mean Sonic Boom has something wrong on it. No way! I agree that some adjusts could have been done before releasing the game and I assume that one year more would be sufficient for the challenge.

    Considering the level design and hardware capacity, one should say that Sonic Boom on the WiiU is relatively good as Knack on PS4. they're just alike in essence. Games with good graphics and level design, but hated by many that couldn't understand the projectt's ambition. Both great games. Sonic is an icon and deserved more love. That's why I'm giving it a 10 out of 10. But I hope some minor adjustments comes in some future patches.    … Expand

In this new adventure I saw a beautiful open world game in which it only took a few minutes to get from location to location. This new perspective made me realize the new paradigm Sonic is heading toward. Speed has always been the most boring part of the games...why do people like them?

    AMAZING, this game is the best game EVER (my new fav) the gameplay and controlls sonic characters new design and everything about it is amazing i also love Sticks, i could go on all day about how amazing this game is. SEGA you hit the target this time.

    I can honestly say I understand why this game was reviewed so badly, but having played it recently myself I can say that it still has the potential to offer an enjoyable experience.

    Positives: -Simple Combat and Puzzles -Fun story with decent voice acting -There are no consequences for dying in this game Negatives: -Periodic frame rate drops and technical issues -Some sections    I can honestly say I understand why this game was reviewed so badly, but having played it recently myself I can say that it still has the potential to offer an enjoyable experience.

    Can I just say that THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!! From the first trailer, I was hyped beyond relief for this game. And man is it good! The gameplay is a fusiong of fighting games like Shaq Fu and platformers like Bubsy 3D. The story is also really good and cool, but the best is the chars.     O jogo em si não é ruim, pelo contrário, só falta ele ser bom. Sonic Boom tem gráficos agradável, o problema foi vender com o nome Sonic. Estaria ansioso pra uma continuação se a mesma viesse polida. Misturar hack n slash com plataforma foi uma boa idéia.

The gameplay can't be better. The story and the jokes are actually enjoyable. The exploration is interesting. The running parts look like a racing game (which is actually good for the hedgehog).     Ich mag dieses Spiel! Leider wird es wie manch andere Sonic Spiele zu Unrecht tot gehatet... Ich mag das neue Sonic Boom Gameplay, das Spiel hat auch eine schöne Story, guten Humor, gute Musik und auch einige schöne Welten. Und die Bugs stören mich auch kaum! Kein unglaubliches spiel aber Ich hatte viel Spaß mit diesem Spiel!

    I genuinely don't get why people hate this game so much. It's fun! I love the feel of it, the controls, the jokes, the animations, the aesthetics of the levels, the only problem is optimization, but I played this game on Cemu, and it's quite decent.

    I am very pleased to have played this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are very nice and so is the combat. The game has 0 bugs in it and you can play as the speedy blue hedgehog and Amy and knuckles and tails and Eggman and shadow. This is the only good game ever made, this game makes Mario galaxy and Xenoblade 3 look like garbage. This game was so good It cured my ADHD.
