Minecraft Wii U Edition might not be the new Wii U version people hoped for. The game does not utilize the Wii U gamepad in any unique way and the world size is large, but not expansive. This new update for WiiU Minecraft is great! Bigger worlds, more skins and more block selection! The controls are great! Make it come out on disc! It is currently only available on eShop! Could it come out on 3DS and Wii as well? Please do!!! Still great though. I think it matches with PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One! This is a great game, in Australia; it costs $40. Much cheaper than the others! I give it 10/10 Expand

Everyone knows Minecraft is a good game on ANY platform - simply because the game is superb! The stupid decision to only support the Gamepad and Pro Controller limits our multiplayer to TWO players. That sucks. And no, I wouldn't buy another 2 Wii U Pro Controllers just for ONE game, since I've already bought 2x PC versions, 1x mobile version of the game! What was Mojang thinking? Anyway, very disappointed. With free, 8th gen online play, this definitely beats the XBox 360 and PS3 versions. It's important to be able to easily share your creations with others. Miiverse also helps with this.

However, the world size is just as small as the 7th gen editions. Same goes for drawing distance, I think. Less lag for local multiplayer, however. Most importantly: You get Nintendo exclusive DLC on

After I played it I knew I had to write a review on it. Mojang has made a good game, and I look forward to what they do with it in the future. It has everything that the PC game has, and that’s saying something. Most games that come out for console don’t have all of the things that it’s PC edition has. When I played it I knew that I could do anything that someone playing PC could do and more than that. It has a built in hunger games mode and Spleef mode also. You don’t even have to build the maps for the game. It has over a dozen maps for both modes, and you get to choose them if you want. But even the built in games have their restrictions. Some parts of the maps are cut off or impossible to get to. Some people have learned how to hack the game and get into those parts, and then harvest the chests there.

After a while you have to try out the normal single player world. The tutorial map took my breath away. It makes the hunger games maps look like a noob built it. It will teach you everything you need to know. After you get the ropes on the controls (which are easy to learn), you will be able to start a Creative, or Survival world and get to playing. I would recommend starting on a creative world. That way you can learn more about the wonderful world of minecraft.

All in all this game is one of the best games I’ve ever played. The controls are easy to learn, and the game play is the best of it’s kind. It’s a game where you can do anything you want to, and most games don’t allows you to do that. That is what makes this game one of a kind. I highly recommend this game.

Terrible. I claims that you can connect other controllers to the game by clicking start, but there is no response to that from the game, when it says that is how to put it in. I want a refund, and I want the local multiplayer to work. To connect those controllers, they need to be Wii U pro controllers, or else they don't work. A classic controller should be able to be used, but it isn't.

Happy it's here but what should obviously have been the definitive version disappoints.

Why no motion control support (wiimote + nunchuck) and inventory on the gamepad? ARGH!

It really isn't the best option.
The game itself is the same as Minecraft, with a few things left out from the PC edition, such as red deserts, ocean monuments, etc. It even plays very similar to the Playstation/Xbox versions, with a similar crafting system. If you already own Minecraft for the PC, there really is no reason to buy this, unless you don't have a computer, Playstation or

If got this to play with your friends, I hope you have a Wii U pro controller because that is what you need to play local multiplayer. Minecraft: Wii U Edition is basically a port of Minecraft for the Xbox 360. The world still ends and the menus are stupid along with the many other problems the Xbox 360 version had.

Minecraft may be a game that is heavily acclaimed by a lot of people all over the world, and honestly, I can easily see why, although I'm not exactly a fan of it. By this rating of 6/10, I think it's obvious that I didn't like it much. Minecraft: Wii U edition keeps the essence that made Minecraft great, but in a quite weaker form. Even though it can get interesting and intense at times, the control scheme is very weird and difficult, making fighting a tricky experience. The world is also just too small (862x862). It may be understandable with the Wii U's power, but the same console was able to run Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game that has one of the biggest overworlds in videogame history, which substracts points from Minecraft. And it's just dumb to require an HD resolution to play in Co-op. However, the game is fun like 75% of the time, and it keeps the core essence of Minecraft, which makes me unable to give it a lower score that it does not deserve. Expand

You can't really criticize a sandbox game, so I'll say this.

I do enjoy the simpler Minecraft, as the newest versions just seem like they are trying to jam-pack the game with everything. The game skin selection is nice and the game has never crashed on me.
