Jul 5, 2016I never been a Sonic fan, but this game is so good! The additional combat element and the boss battles more challenging make the difference. So, if you are a Sonic 2D fan, it's a must-have. If you're not, maybe the additional elements here make you enjoy more then the classic Sonic games.

Jun 7, 2016The first 2D Sonic game I've enjoyed in the last 15 years; even better than the first 2 Sonic games.
Highly recommendable, even for those who do not like platformers, like me.

Nintendo Force MagazineNov 30, 2015If Sega isn't going to deliver the classic Sonic follow-up that old-school fans have been clamoring for, then at least Galaxy Trail is ready to step in. [Issue #18 – November/December 2015, p.19]

Nov 19, 2015One might feel tempted to mistake Freedom Planet for a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog but that would be tremendously unfair for this work from GalaxyTrail. Its fun and precise gameplay mechanics, along with a wide amount of content and very original levels will bring hours of 2D fun which will resonate particularly well with 16-bit platforming enthusiasts. Were the mixture between action and platforming be more balanced and the boss fights less burdensome on the player and this would become an instant landmark of indie games.

Nov 17, 2015Freedom Planet may have started out as an attempt to recreate Sonic, but it stands on its own as a great platformer.
