    Animal Crossing Amiibo Party is not the game that the franchise deserves but some of its minigames have interesting but unexploded mechanics. The presentation and soundtrack are charming but it only makes us wish for a complete game of the series on Wii U. Not everything was bad in my experience but Nintendo could definitely make a better game.

    Had the board game been an extra feature or weekly activity in the next mainline Animal Crossing game (hint, hint Nintendo), it would easily serve as yet another feature that enhances an already rewarding experience. As its own thing, it fall short. Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival isn't a bad game, save for most of the mini-games, it's just not interesting enough to warrant the long term investment needed to see everything it has to offer.

    It's simple enough for people of all ages to enjoy, and, as I've already mentioned a couple of times through the review, it's utterly adorable.

    It's digital board gaming at its most basic, with a surprisingly sincere effort from a developer that seems burnt out on the genre.

    The amiibo integration is cumbersome and hard to play with, and interesting ideas like the use of the stalk market are limited by a slow pace. It’s delightful enough to make me smile, but it’s still a bit boring.

    For the money you ultimately get two figurines, three cards and a game package with snippets of fun and charm - it's ultimately up to you whether that's worthy of your cash.

    Despite this glaring shortcoming, Amiibo Festival is good, relaxed fun that will be perfect during the holidays and parties with friends.

    Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival could have been really fun. But the lack of things to do during the main game hinder it so badly.

While the game maintains some of the wit and charm of the mainline games, it is drowned out by the mundane and RNG reliant gameplay. As a die hard Animal Crossing fan I cannot recommend this game to either fans of the series or people wanting to try out the series for their own. This game is not worth the $60 price point either, while you may argue "Oh it comes with two amiibos!" you cannot advance past the start screen without an Animal Crossing Amiibo, locking you out of the game unless you own one. It feels as if Nintendo dragged a very prominent series through the mud just for the sake of selling Amiibos.… Full Review »

My initial reaction was what are you serious nintendo here is the wii u oozing with potential a huge wii u release of a true animal crossing game can happen with literally millions of things to do and we get a terrible mario party rip off. The only positive this game has charming visuals and characters while running at a nice 60FPS. Other than that the charm of animal crossing can only do so much. Bland mini games terrible amiibo support and just a pure boring factor the only reason to buy this game is for the amiibo other than that a huge waste.… Full Review »
