I guess that I'm in the minority here, but I actually really enjoy this game. Don't get me wrong, most of the claims I hear around the game are valid. I have fun when I play it, it's a relaxing experience. The graphics are adorable. Do I wish that there was more from a game like this, especially one that requires you to have amiibos just to play it? Absolutely. But I'm sticking with my own opinions, and I think that if you already collect amiibos, this game is a lot of fun. Expand

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is a fun little game. It has more in common with Itadaki Street than Mario Party. Basically it's a family version of Itadaki Street. It has integration with Happy Home Designer and Amiibo cards. You can use the amiibo cards to bring new characters into the game and customize your game board.

Also, the graphics look fantastic. Animal Crossing looks great

The Amiibos are cute and well made. I would have bought them even without a game to go with it.

This is really a game you have to try for yourself. Most people had their mind made up about the game before even playing it so don't listen to the bad reviews. You have to play the board game a few times to unlock all the features so a lot of reviewers haven't really played the full game.

At first I hated the game and couldn't believe that I spent 80 dollars (canadian) to buy this game. Then I started randomly playing it with friends and family and it's just a blast. Now I play the game everyday after work to unwind and relax. Though it's not amazing, there's something to be said for a game that calms me down after being stressed for 8-9 hours.

    (Also I like the amiibos.

I love this game. It is at its heart a wonderful and pure extension of all my Animal Crossing experiences. My wife and I and our kids thoroughly enjoy it. Think about the kinds of games you play on the Island and about hide and seek.... etc. Anything Mario Party about them? Not really. OF COURSE this isn't like Mario Party!!

Festival is simple, laid back. Like everything about Animal Crossing, it is about taking time to enjoy things. You know, like the way AC has always punished people for running around (like Mario and Luigi no doubt would?) Customizing our gameboard village with Amiibo card villagers was really satisfying for my family as we each took turns choosing which villager to invite.

Each pack of Amiibo cards is an event for my family as we see familiar faces from our current or previous villages. My son cheered when he saw Bella in our most recent pack. One of his faves from our City Folk village. She was his card choice to invite to live in the gameboard village naturally.

The gameplay in the boardgame is pretty basic, but can be a hoot with 4 players who love AC and have some history together. My family has enjoyed every game so far and had some great laughs along the way. As far as the mini-games go, my son and I greatly enjoy the Island escape mini-game and the Balloon game in particular.

I feel that it is a worthy product in the AC universe and worth every penny I've spent on it. and will spend on it in the future.

This game does NOT deserve the score it has. If you are a fan of Animal Crossing, you will enjoy this game very, very much. I gave this game an 8 because it is not perfect by any means, but it is also not as bad as people are saying it is. People are hating on this game because of 3 reasons:

This game does NOT deserve the score it has. If you are a fan of Animal Crossing, you will enjoy this game very, very much. I gave this game an 8 because it is not perfect by any means, but it is also not as bad as people are saying it is. People are hating on this game because of 3 reasons:
    1) They want a "real" Animal Crossing title for the Wii U, not a spin off
    2) They think it's a Mario Party rip-off (it really isn't)
    3) It's a "cheap" way to sell amiibo
While some of this reasons are believed to be true, you really have to play the game and be aware of what the game's intent is. This game is not supposed to be a main-line animal crossing game, it's meant to be a virtual board game that you can play at parties with your friends. It serves exactly what any other Animal Crossing game delivers, very cute and quirky story telling, with amazing personification of characters. The board game itself takes about 40 minutes to an hour to complete. The board game can hit a few low points like most board games tend to hit, but for the majority of time, me and my cousin who were playing had a wonderful time. We enjoyed reading the stories of each space on the board we landed on, we enjoyed all of the twists that were thrown into the mix, we enjoyed many great qualities of the game. The only thing that concerned me at first was the luck based nature of the game, which most board games do have, by the way. Yes this game does not require the same skill a mario party game does, which is a secret blessing in disguise. This is a game that is very relaxing to play with family & friends, it's not a very skillful competitive game with intense do-or-die mini games; it's a very relaxed game with cute characters with huge personalities and a fun scenery to explore throughout the game, and I think nintendo pulled this off very well.

Regarding the use of amiibo in this game without spoiling, I think Nintendo did a phenomenal job implementing them into the game. The game requires you to have an amiibo to play, but they include 2 amiibo with the game, which is a win-win. The minigames are RIDICULOUSLY fun to play, and they also use amiibo and the amiibo cards in a great way.

Overall, I feel like nintendo did exactly what they wanted to do with this game. Provide a fun Animal Crossing spin off, using the new Amiibo figures. This game is not a Bayonetta or a Pikmin 3 with a huge story and plot, it's just a fun game you can start at a party or when you have friends or family over.

I gave "Animal Crosing: amiibo Festival" an 8 out of 10. I recommend the game to any Animal Crossing lover, don't buy into the harsh critics.

Apenas estoy descubriendolo ahora.

It's a stress free game no fights over who got the most points from the mini-game you just tap the amiibo on the NFC reader and your character goes from 1 space to another and you either gain happy points or bells or lose happy points or bells. Besides the day to day, the game also has holidays, catching tournaments, special character events, and most importantly turnip sales. You can buy turnips on sunday for a set price, and you can sell them at any point during the week. The price can fluctuate, so a lot of the drive of the game is seing how much of a return you can get on them. The gameplay is decently simple, and there are a lot more ways to help your fellow players than to hurt them. This is a perfect game for any Animal Crossing fan, as it shows off the lives of many favorite characters and has a very cute and feel-good vibe, even if you are losing. However, if you aren't into Animal Crossing, you probably won't get much out of the game. Expand

Don't expect anything great from it." So, I didn't buy it. Instead, I opted to try it. And I'm thankful he scared me, because I am actually pleasantly surprised with this game.

With the main board game, there are no minigames. You just play this light-hearted, calming board game. It would be excruciatingly boring though, if you weren't playing with friends. When you play with friends though, it's a blast. It kind of gives me a Game of Life feeling, because you collect "happy points" which are similar to "life tiles" and you collect bells which can turn into happy points at the end of the game, which is similar to "retiring" in the game. This game makes collecting the amiibos and amiibo cards really fun. So if you don't collect the Animal Crossing amiibo or the amiibo cards, you probably won't get a very good time out of this game. I personally think it's exceedingly better than any Mario Party that has come out in the last 3-4 years. If you're looking for a carefree, lighthearted and fun game that's better than the trash Mario Party has produced these last few years (Mario Party 8-10, looking at you *cough*) and you enjoy amiibos, GET THIS. It's so much fun. But don't expect too much. Definitely not as good as a classic Mario Party, but far exceeds the newest additions.

The minigames are to be played outside of the board game portion, but playing the board game with friends or solo unlocks tickets to unlock minigames in the plaza. Amiibo cards are required to play all of the minigames, so if you collected them from the Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, here's a chance to get even more functionality and fun out of your amiibo cards. I was addicted to the tent one, I played it for probably an hour straight. Just some mindless, calming fun. The minigames are better than anything I've played in a multiplayer game on the Wii in a long time, just my personal opinion.

I will be buying this game when I get paid next. I personally think $60 isn't a bad price tag, only because it comes with two amiibos to start and three amiibo cards. Without those, I wouldn't pay more than $40 for this.

But all in all, if you're open-minded and looking for some light-hearted, traditional board game fun with your friends and you enjoy amiibo, pick this up and give it a try. If you don't care for collecting Animal Crossing amiibo, then don't get this. This game, being called "Amiibo Festival" is heavily centered around the AC amiibo, so if you don't care to invest in them, don't get this.
