Rather than sticking to the same old formula, this game takes the series to new heights by blending creativity, innovation, and the strengths of its predecessor. With fresh gameplay mechanics, an expanded world, a good storyline, and improved technical performance, Tears of the Kingdom stands as a monumental achievement. This title has the potential to contend for Game of the Year, and despite minor imperfections, it surpasses the already high standards set by its predecessor. The level of hype is justified, and anyone with the opportunity to play it should do so without delay. Beyond its numerous accomplishments, including a rich open world and expert level design, the true beauty of Tears of the Kingdom lies in its ability to reflect the player's intuition and creativity. The game's brilliance isn't just a solitary experience; it shines brightly alongside the player, creating a Legend that will undoubtedly be remembered as a pinnacle in gaming. In essence, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a remarkable achievement, deftly building upon the strengths and weaknesses of its predecessor to deliver an immersive and inventive open-world adventure that's not to be missed. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tears of the kingdom is a beautiful game. Its sandbox like creativity makes the game extremely fun, and allows puzzle solving to be less restricted and gives the player a sense of freedom. The cutscenes, side quests and boss battles are perfected. Not only that but the brand new addition of the depths and sky islands add for a lot more content, and pushes the shrine counter from 120 in its predecessor Breath of the Wild to a whopping 155. Its stunning views and unique environments offer a great experience for the user. Expand

Excellent game! there’s so many things to do compared to the prequel, and Link’s new skill set is fun, refreshing and very interesting; you can do almost everything you want to!

Only downside is i wish you could build larger things, and that the house you custom build allowed you to use more than 15 blocks, but other than that, everything is great!

What the Zelda team was thinking? Instead of doing dungeons, they made those large shrines with "dungeons" in the name. I absolute hated the shrines in Breath of the Wild, hence I hate the shrines in Tears of the Kingdom. They are all the same puzzles that you can figure it out in minutes. The shrines are all the same. The underground segments are extremely boring, the sky island are all the same. The list to choose the material to fuse during battle freeze the screen and take it out the immersion of the game just rolling till you find the material you are looking for, just terrible. And the frames... Oh my, the frame rate of this game is AWFUL. The story is not so good, all the flashbacks of the past again and you need to find the boring geoglyphs' puddles. Where's the magic? The items, the dungeons, the good story? I cannot take Ganondorf anymore. Unfortunately this game sold a lot, and Nintendo will acknowledge this game as a base for future Zeldas. This game is no Zelda, this game is Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts with the word ZELDA on the cover. I'm so frustrated that one of my favourite franchises was reduced to this. Expand

well, because Tears of the Kingodm is an 8 video game, however in the context of a the legend of zelda it is already a lot if it takes a 3, for this doing an average it comes out a six.
the video game is fun, has immediate gameplay that does not tire and is capable of making you spend hundreds of hours of fun, since facing enemies and completing the various mini-games on the map is extremely fun due to the dynamism of the gameplay. thanks to the ultrahand it is possible to build incredible things and thanks to the compositor the crafting of weapons is fast and immediate. so what's wrong? well since building vehicles and completing minigames isn't the reason a person buys a Zelda game this game for me was a complete bust. Zelda as always is all about exploration and a sense of discovery, and when you fail this point you have failed the entire game. Let's start with recycling. The asset recycling in this game is disgraceful, and I honestly don't understand why people defend this, despite the fact that the game still cost 70 bucks. And stop comparing it to majora's mask which only recycled npc assets. Finding again enemies, weapons, fauna, flora and clothes from the previous game was a huge disappointment. especially when most of the enemies are bokobli, grublin, lizalfos, octorot and lynel again. also the Yigas appear in the exact same way. The map of the sky, so advertised by Nintendo, is nothing more than a group of tiny islands and copy pasted with the same puzzle. the exploration of the sky was disappointing because I find it extremely boring to explore to always find the same things. the underground may look cool at first but then it turns out to be nothing more than a wasteland with only one biome and with ridiculously repeated enemies. it has only 2 structures and it repeats them all over the map giving the feeling of exploring a procedural environment. Hyrule has remained the same, and no, I don't consider moving shrines and korooks to be a different map. I honestly found it extremely boring to explore a map on which I had already spent hundreds of hours botw. the only satisfaction was given by the caves, even if many of them are similar and a bit boring. Since Nintendo has decided that all the same rooms with a puzzle inside can very well replace the Dungeons, also in this game we have only 4 small dungeons (the castle of Hyrule has remained the same as that of botw). The temples in this game are none other than the divine beasts but dressed differently. Honestly I'm sick of this game being compared to the first zelda for NES, since the only thing they have in common is that they have an open map. in Zelda 1 dungeons were essential, just as it was essential to explore to get items without which you could not complete the game. in totk everything is made to be Optional, the really useful things are only given to you at the beginning, everything else is just finding useless things just for completion. if you don't care about Zelda or what it has been to date this game will be perfect for you, otherwise it was a complete disappointment.

Gameplay is great at first, but becomes somewhat repetitive closer to the end. The plot is probably the worst I've ever seen in a Zelda game and I probably would've enjoyed the game more if I skipped all the cutscenes.

OF THE BILLON.BILLON= 1 000 000 000 000 años. THE LEGEND OF ZELDA TEARS OF THE KINGDOM Expand

The new parts of the maps really set in good moods, and the new enemies are great, especially the hands. I was really invested with Zelda's story and loved to chase the new memory collections. The graphics are great and I love how they still sticked to the cartoony style, but just polished it instead. And the sound track is beautiful, the main theme is my number one on my playlist and just running around in all parts of the map, the music caters perfectly. They still keep lots of things from breath of the wild which makes it feel like a visit back to a familiar place.
The game itself runs great, with myself finding no glitches while playing nor bugs. This is really impressive as I share a switch with 3 of my siblings and the fact that the switch is a tiny hand held console.
As the story progresses more things from botw and totk just make more sense, giving the feeling of great discovery.
But apart from the everything, the pure joy I got when I saw the game arrive was like nothing I have ever felt before. Doing the Tutorial Island reminded me of my first time playing Botw on the Wii U and it just felt so comforting. The feelings the game gives you set a new open world standard that will ever be hard to beat. I hope this version of the games keeps continuing because it's been the happiest while of my life while playing this Masterpiece.

    2. The realistic nature.
    3. The few “big” side quests were amazing and felt like it had impact (often small) on the world.

Now let’s see what I didn’t like about Tears of the kingdom:
    1. The story felt like it tried to imitate that of Breath of the wild. And it failed miserably with the memory system feeling forced and it just isn’t interesting in general.
    2. The nature is now littered with ugly dark grey rocks in unnatural square shapes and ugly bright green pictures on the land which make no sense story wise when you think about it even a little bit.
    3. All side quests were meaningless with no impact on the world at all.
    4. The world feels very artificial, with people not talking about the freaking apocalypse that was the upheaval but instead they worry more about things like fashion and traveling across the world… to a scorching hot desert with a constant sandstorm. Nah, they don’t care. Almost as if it doesn’t exist and doesn’t mater. 5. All the regional phenomena stories suck except for maybe the Zora one, that just feels tedious at times.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
