    Nunca pensé que habría un juego que dejase mal al Zelda BOTW, pero este es el juego. El mundo abierto ha sido enriquecido con mejoras en las cuevas, santurarios, misiones, eventos, coleccionables... parándote en cada esquina a disfrutar de algo nuevo/interesante. Para mí, el punto fuerte está en la historia, la forma de contarla y el protagonismo que obtiene Zelda. Esta vez sí que podemosNunca pensé que habría un juego que dejase mal al Zelda BOTW, pero este es el juego. El mundo abierto ha sido enriquecido con mejoras en las cuevas, santurarios, misiones, eventos, coleccionables... parándote en cada esquina a disfrutar de algo nuevo/interesante.     Nice to see that the silly low reviews are not having a major impact on the overall score for this absolute masterpiece of a game. Before the release we was aware that TOTK is the sequel to BOTW so why people are complaining about the same map is mind blowing to me, especially when it is quite clear that the map has been expanded and I mean    The Legend of Zelda: Torture of the Koroks.

    Before the release we was aware that TOTK is the sequel to BOTW so why people are complaining about the same map is mind blowing to me, especially when it is quite clear that the map has been expanded and I mean EXPANDED, to the point where I am still happy to travel and explore areas that I already explored in BOTW, I will admit that sometimes exploring the main land can get a little boring ( at times ) but the new areas and altered regions definitely help with rectifying this issue.

    The weapons system, yes this may be frustrating at times but let's be honest, for this to be the main reason to give this game a bad score is because these people don't like a challenge, plus it pushes the player to explore more of the map and find new weapons so that is a win.

    So far my only personal complaint ( which is why I have knocked a point off my score ) is the new dungeons, I like that they have tried to keep the traditional dungeons but they don't give off the same feeling that I would experience in something like Windwakers Dragon Roost Cavern and the Tower of the Gods, or the Twilight Princess Temple of time and palace of twilight... the dungeons in TOTK feel rushed, I found them fairly easy and quick to complete.
    I miss the old compass, mini bosses and boss keys, I feel like these made a Zelda game and would probably of given TOTK a record breaking score.

    Graphics seem to match that of the graphics in BOTW which still to this day has proven to be one of the most visually stunning games on the Nintendo Switches outdated Hardware.

    Again going back to the Switches Hardware, I expected a few frame rate drops but I was honestly Shocked with how quite smooth the game is overall! we have a console that released in 2017 and I somehow can drop from the Skylands directly down into the depths without hardly any performance issues! fantastic work guys!

    The new building mechanic is a very nice touch... does not necessarily feel Zelda-ish but I am having way too much fun with it to care about that in all honesty.

    Loving the new variety in enemies/ bosses

    The memory missions are a step up from BOTW.

    Music as always with any Zelda title is a masterpiece.

    Can't get enough of the Shrine puzzles! each one is challenging in its own way.

    Played it for 80hours and liked it a bit more than Breath of the Wild. The breakable weapons is still horrible and it still feels a bit unrewarding to explore.

Solo puedo decir: "WOW" Realmente no soy fan de Zelda, en realidad este vendría a ser el segundo que juego y el primero que termino y puedo decir que Tears Of The Kingdom es brutal es casi todo aspecto, el mundo es super gigante y lleno de cosas por hacer si tienes el suficiente tiempo e imaginación, me encantó la historia aun que no es super profunda y sus gráficos a pesar de no ser realistas cumplen con su función de transmitir sensaciones al momento de escenas clave.
    En realidad mi calificación para el juego seria de 9.5 (pero solo me deja escojer entre 9 y 10), ya que si hay cositas que no me terminaron de convencer y que siento que pudieron pulirlas un poco más refiriéndome al combate, no es malo, pero en muchisimas ocasiones juraría haber esquivado ciertos ataques que me terminaron dando, diria que es eso y que los santuarios de los sabios son básicamente lo mismo, me habria encantado que cada santuario tuviera cosas diferentes y no solo buscar 5 interruptores

    Damn thas was something!
    I was not a fan of Botw, for me it was lack of something, it was a prototype, but now WE have the Real game! And what a game OMG, exploration + creativity + Zelda feels = perfection

    I have reviewed 2 games in my life and this is one of them. I cannot even describe the magic of this game. I did not think this game would be able to recreate the magic of BOTW for me and somehow this one did. Literally my only complaint is a few frame drops here and there but they were few and far between for me. The creativity, the narrative beats, the art style..     The polish on the original design and mechanics is flawless. I wasn't a huge fan of the first game although I agree it was incredibly well made, but this game has made a lot of decisions that has made me actually love this game despite those things I don't like incredibly well done and an excellent sendoff for the new Zelda experience on the Switch.

    The absolute ridiculous ambition from Nintendo to surpass their previous iteration of The Legend of Zelda and to smash it out of the park like they did is a testament to the hard-work and dedication of each and every member of the team that worked on this masterpiece.

    One of, if not the greatest games I have ever played!

    The best game of all time! I thought zelda breath of the wild was perfect but they were able to improve that perfection with zelda tears of the kingdom.

    I'll emulate totk on my mid range PC once I finish my military service and are no longer a conscript next January, but I'm sure the game is an undisputed masterpiece.

    Totk é um excelente jogo, tem tudo que eu sempre quis em um jogo Zelda. Grandes e belos ambientes com muita coisa a serem descobertas e cada vez mais surpreendente assim como em Breath. As novas mecânicas e interação praticamente tudo no jogo, sem contar que agora podermos explorar desde ambientes subterrâneos, superfície e céu. Em fim existe uma vasta forma de se jogar, cada um tem suaTotk é um excelente jogo, tem tudo que eu sempre quis em um jogo Zelda. Grandes e belos ambientes com muita coisa a serem descobertas e cada vez mais surpreendente assim como em Breath. As novas mecânicas e interação praticamente tudo no jogo, sem contar que agora podermos explorar desde ambientes subterrâneos, superfície e céu.     Simplesmente o melhor jogo que estou jogando esse ano. O único ponto fraco são algumas ligeiras quedas de FPS, mas nada que interfira na jogatina. Está muito emocionante

To tie each of these planes into rich gameplay is a feat that an indie developer (such as myself) dreams to accomplish but often gets lost on the staggering amounts of possibilities to account for. Couple this with intuitive abilities like UltraHand and Ascend, players can truly write their own narrative for their own personal journey of Links. We can all tell different stories for how we happened upon this treasure, or approached this puzzle. There is no wrong anymore, TotK saw to that.

    Nintendo and company have taken a world, that’s largely been explored down to its rocks - and shaped it into an epic new quest that begs to be explored… and they waste no time in giving Link the arsenal of abilities that absolutely tower over the previous title. So while you can craft a flying mine cart to carry you over a large distance - using a rocket to give you the necessary take off speed, players will still drop down at the site of a new well or cave that beggars exploration.

    The storyline follows the same memory-style approach experienced in the titles predecessor, but it is truly brought to life throughout Hyrules many different cultures and occupants. You can engage with everyone, discovering new quests or a better way to make a rupee. The story advances at your will, allowing you to pace yourself in an effort to soak up every bit of fun.

    UltraHand as an ability is a historical achievement in itself. Nintendo panders to the crafters of the world with an arsenal of possibilities that I’m still trying to grasp on how they did this on the senior year Switch console. There is nothing you can’t create from imagination - and no better world to do it in.

    I tip my hat to Nintendo for always putting gameplay quality as a priority since the days of me selecting a title as a kid - looming for that golden seal of quality. We are the Nintendo generation, and TotK is a reminder that gaming represents our dream, and that anything is possible.    … Expand

    Do not be fooled into thinking that this is just a DLC of the BOTW, I assure you that this game does have new and creative additions. Yes, you will see some returning characters of the previous game and the Hyrule map is still somewhat the same but with some newer additions to explore.
    I haven't    Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is an awesome game just pure perfection from the previous game.

The perfect balance between the open world exploration of Breath of the Wild, and the more linear storytelling and dungeon/temple solving of Ocarina of Time. Anyone rushing to complete this game in less than 50 hours is missing out on truly enjoying the game of aThe BBC put it best in just four words, "a work of art". This game is inexplicably massive in both scope as well as narrative. The perfect balance between the open world exploration of Breath of the Wild, and the more linear storytelling and dungeon/temple solving of Ocarina of Time. Anyone rushing to complete this game in less than 50 hours is missing out on truly enjoying the game of a generation, whereas most will hopefully be spending 100's of hours exploring this world, being distracted by every NPC, every stable quest, and every stray banana making you question if the direction you're going in is a good one!

    If gamers are still six years on discovering mechanics in Breath of the Wild that no-one has seen yet, then Fuse and Ultrahand will be keeping YouTubers and Twitter users alike surprised and confused as to how the hell Nintendo's team pulled this off for the next decade and then some. A technical feat that has shocked developers worldwide, and had the competition in awe on social media.     As someone that has grown up playing the legend of Zelda starting with ocarina of time, I have loved seeing the years of maturing the series has gone through. Of all the Nintendo IP, Zelda has the richest lore and story to tell about an endless cycle of existence between the princess, the hero, and the demon king.

    It is this rich lore that, I believe, has given the Zelda franchise the    As someone that has grown up playing the legend of Zelda starting with ocarina of time, I have loved seeing the years of maturing the series has gone through. Of all the Nintendo IP, Zelda has the richest lore and story to tell about an endless cycle of existence between the princess, the hero, and the demon king.

    It is this rich lore that, I believe, has given the Zelda franchise the long life it has. A captivating world and history with rich story telling and compelling characters that you fall in love with every time they a reborn into the kingdom of hyrule.

    TOTK has done everything right in recapturing my love for this version of Link, Zelda and their fight against Gannon. I intentionally avoided almost all trailers and gameplay so that I could go into this game as blind as possible.

    I feel like a lot of people, I was both excited and skeptical about jumping back into the same landscape that I had already played for well over 100 hours in BOTW. Excited to continue to see this version of Link and Zelda when historically we would have moved on to a different version. And skeptical for the same reason...we are returning to the same map.

    Even with the early trailer showing that the sky was going to be a part of the gameplay, I was still skeptical with the thought that it was cool to have the sky be an element in the game, but how much can they really do with the same map? Knowing that the Switch hardware is SO limited and that it seemed like BOTW was already pushing it to max capacity, I didn't really think you could do much more. And I was very pleasantly surprised at how wrong I was.

    Stepping out onto the ledge in the first sky island at the start of TOTK reignited the excitement I remember feeling at the beginning of BOTW when you walk out of the cave onto the hill, looking over a broken and wild hyrule. And it makes sense that they would take this route. How could you top the opening to BOTW? Easy...you do the same thing but 20k feet high. Jumping out and falling through the air landing into a pool of water below had my jaw drop and brought such a sense of wonder to the world laid out in front of me. Even knowing below me was a similar landscape, I couldn't wait to get to the ground level.

    Reaching the ground and truly starting the story ended up being exciting because of all the changes I was already seeing and also comforting since there were familiar things around me that I had poured so much time into before. And seeing a grown version of Purah brought it all together perfectly! I couldn't help but smile at every turn during the start of the game. Even with coming back to the same Hyrule, there was still this sense of unknown simply because we have never had a true Zelda sequel. What happens after you save the kingdom? How do the relationships you made adapt and grow after the credits roll?

    As I explored the ground level I slowly started to realize how densely packed this game truly is. When I read that Nintendo had wanted to add a lot of features to BOTW but couldn't due to Wii U hardware limitations, I never thought they meant this much...especially on the switch hardware! Interactions, side quests, passing people on the road, raiding enemy camps, CAVES EVERYWHERE, wells to jump into in nearly every town, it was all packed into this game!

    As I revisited some locations like a large tree stump to collect a korok seed I was surprised at what I found. In BOTW it was simply a flat stump but in TOTK there is now a massive whole in the stump that leads to a HUGE cave/root system that I spent 15-20 min looking over every corner of.

    And I haven't even mentioned The Depths!! Having no idea this was in the game (again didn't watch a trailer if they mentioned it there) I came across one of the gloom Pitts with a seeming bottomless chasm. Seeing no indication that I couldn't go in I decided to jump. My jaw DROPPED by how far I fell and as it got pitch black I tried to figure out what the heck just happened. Then I discovered there is a THIRD whole map in this game. Not just the ground or the sky but a subterranean level!?

    I have put in close to 30 hours playing which is less than a lot out there and in that 30 I feel like I have barely scratched the surface...actually I haven't even scratched the surface. I still have a large portion of all three maps that remain unexplored.

    What I love about TOTK is that Nintendo has expanded so much on top of the open world design of BOTW. It's not about having an arrow at the top of your screen or knowing the exact spot of where to go for the next side quest, it is exploration in its purest form. Here is a map with some rough guide points for the story you are playing...everything else is yours to explore.

    In a gaming culture that continues to be full of bloated open world games that release in a broken state and hold the players had at every turn, here is a game that builds on top of its foundation in the best way possible    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Finished it after about 60 hours of playtime, and none of that felt tiresome or tedious. Every flaw that breath of the wild had has been reduced to a minimum and the only negatives about this game are minor nitpicks. It deserves to be considered one of the best open world game of all times, alongside the Witcher 3, Skyrim and elden ring.

    The world, physics, exploration, artistic direction and creativity are all 10 out of 10.
    There are only two minor issues with the game but they did not subtract from my enjoyment of the game. The game runs fairly well but often suffers from frame drops due to something like a lot of grass burning, etc. It is not    I have about 100 hours in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom so far.

    There are only two minor issues with the game but they did not subtract from my enjoyment of the game. The game runs fairly well but often suffers from frame drops due to something like a lot of grass burning, etc. It is not terrible and usually passes with 2-3 seconds or so.
    The other issue is that this game effectively retcons the already established Zelda lore and timeline. This is not really surprising because Nintendo does not even seem to have a firm grasp of what the timeline is themselves but oh well.

    Those are the only two minor issues I had with this game. People who are rating this game poorly are usually one of two people;

    The first are a hardcore dedicated group of 'old-school' Zelda fans who dislike the way the series has transformed from a Non-Linear story based series into an Open World series. I prefer the old style Zelda games personally, my favourite Zelda games being Windwaker and Twilight Princess, but just because you prefer the old style to the new style does not make the new style bad. They fail to judge it on actual flaws but rather their own personal feelings.

    The other group are people who mostly have not played the game and like to hate on something popular, it is fine we have all done it at some point, "how can this be so popular, i don't understand it".

    The detractors often cite the nature of this game as a direct sequel being to it's detriment, using the "same map". This is disingenuous. Towns, villages and landmarks are often located in the same place, but entire areas have been revamped as time has moved on from BOTW to TOTK.

    For example; Lurelin Village which in the last game was really an uninteresting but quaint village in the Southeastern corner of Hyrule has been attacked by Pirates, this sets of an entire side story unrelated to the main story where you begin by defeating the pirates. After this event is completed other things change in the world, you can find the pirates hidden lair and fight them there, rebuild Lurelin Village and help the refugees return to the village. There is another where you have to help a mayoral candidate win an election in Hateno Village.

    This is just one example, there are many examples all throughout the game. But obviously the biggest new additions are the Depths (which has a map size the same size as the overworld), and the Sky which happens above Hyrule. This increases the amount of content in the game essentially three fold.

    There are secrets literally everywhere, side stories, side quests. Some of them are boring fetch quests but you can just ignore them, there is not a lack of good, interesting and worthwhile content by any means whatsoever.

    I'm a lot of hours in and from my perspective I've experienced none of the negative. No graphical or performance issues. I don't know if some people are just overly picky or what.

    It feels and looks much smoother than BoTW was. And it doesn't feel like a BoTW DLC at all. What it feels like is a sequel. A sequel that builds on and improves what the original started. It's the familiarity of BoTW but more and better. The story is better. Monsters are so much better and there are more of them. The world feels so much bigger with the 3 levels.

    The new abilities are mad and over-the-top but in the best way. It offers crazy amounts of opportunity for new stuff to try. I've found myself running into some construction stuff and just spending way too long making crazy things. And you can use them together. Got a bunch of logs and a high place to get to? Whack the logs together, turn it upright, grab it with Ultrahand and then ascend through your nifty log stack. Need to cross a long gap but don't have enough stuff to cover it? Fuse a bunch of stuff together. Push it out and rotate it then use recall for a rotating bridge.
    The possibilities are endless. You can even fuse building parts together into spinning monster traps.

    This is a masterpiece. Don't listen to the overly picky, negative reviews. I know it's their opinon but in this case, those opinions are wrong.
    But, if you didn't like BoTW you probably won't like Tears.    … Expand

    I have to say It, it's hard to give a 10 cause this mean we reached the perfection but I have to give It because it deserves for everything, for the music, the story, bossfights and other particularis, onestly it's the real and best sequel I just played for the Legend of Zelda (even my favourite one is Ocarina of Time) but I will give a solid 10!

    Tears of the Kingdom es un juego absolutamente impresionante! No podía soltar el control durante horas, a cada rato pensando en jugarlo.

    I never finished the first game, and this one is really easy to get into, which is great. The story is good, although it is really only for people who are devoted to video games, and will not drop them when they don’t understand it. Take this review lightly, as I am only a couple hours into the game.

The combat is much better especially due to the Fuse system, the dungeons feel a lot more like dungeons in TOTK compared to BOTW divine beasts and the story is a lot more interesting. Generally there are not many flaws in this game besides that it reuses some assets from BOTW and although the dungeons are solid, they are not as great as some other 3d Zelda. There are also so many exciting side quests in this game as well such as the mazes and the Yiga Clan- most importantly there is so much to do in this open world and so many different environments to explore. Overall an excellent game that is pretty much a masterpiece especially if you enjoyed BOTW.… Expand

Tears of the Kingdom's story is extremely well done and much improved. There was actual character development. I won't go into details to keep it spoiler free.

    The second major gripe I had with Breath of the Wild was the bosses. Waterblight Ganon, Windblight Ganon and Fireblight Ganon were too easy and too similar to one another. Thunderblight Ganon while more difficult still lacked distinction. Kohga was Kohga. Calamity Ganon was lazy and Dark Beast Ganon was very anti-climatic. Tears of the Kingdom fixes that with actual distinct and unique bosses. And the final fight against Ganondorf was phenomenal and actually DIFFICULT.

    In addition, so much more exploration was added. Not only is there the sky, but now there's the underground area.

    Overall without going into so much detail so that way it can be spoiler free, it's an absolute 10/10 game and it deserves Game of the Year!    … Expand

They aren't inherently fun to use, if anything they're frustrating. The satisfaction comes from seeing the validation of your own ingenuity and experimentation, not the action of using the tool itself. Because of this, the system quickly becomes redundant as you'll naturally gravitate towards the most efficient solutions that spend the least time using the frustrating Ultrahand mechanic. Rockets solve virtually every traversal obstacle. The weapons do no damage and are simply used to distract enemies. The few tools that have specific uses for bosses or quests gain nothing from the novelty of being freely movable and attachable together. They act like old fashioned Zelda items, their mere existence is the solution to the puzzle. So how does this new system expand the game? Much like the Ultrahand itself, attaching an engineering sandbox onto a pre-existing world and formula doesn't create anything new. The synergy you achieve is sourced by the creator's ingenuity, that is to say the player is the one creating something new, not the developer. I think the new sandbox is phenomenal and a technical marvel, but it exists in isolation from the formula and doesn't innovate beyond where it was 6 years ago.

    But wait, there are two new entire maps! The sky islands barely add 1/20th to the existing playable area. The way you reach them is uninteresting, the falling pieces are mostly scripted so your ventures into the sky are highly regulated by the developers' intentions. Besides that you can just balloon and rocket your way to whatever island you want, so immersive! The depths are a vast wasteland littered with nothing but rocks and copy pasted enemies. The only thing you can do down there is hunt for reused armor pieces from the last game and mine Zoanite for the new energy system. Hit rocks for 2 hours to make your car drive for 20 seconds longer, 10/10 game of the year. There are a plethora of new mechanics, interactions, and enemies, but it's all contained within the same world and game-play loop. I lost all intrigue after the first 3-4 hours when I realized just how little new content there was beyond the main questline. Oh they added new side quests... to unlock reused content. What's in this new area? Copy pasted enemies and loot. It feels like this game is catered to players who played BotW for 50 hours in 2017 and not the die hard fans who played for 100s of hours over the years like myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the game and plan to play it for years just like BotW. But it's 2021 $60 DLC good, not 2023 $100 flagship good.    … Expand

    - The controls are not generally re-mappable and are often frustrating.
    - The combat is very flat, the weapon variety is largely limited to appearance and damage numbers. Yes, I can attach an object to a weapon, but most of the objects just change the knock-back and whether it does more blunt or sharp damage, the animations don't change.
    - Flurry rush has a very strange activation window which doesn't really reward dodging out of danger at the last moment, just dodging at a specific time.

I don't even want to hear about the Switch being underpowered. They are charging a premium next-gen price of $70, so I expect the same level of quality as PS5 and XSX. Not my fault these greedy cheapskates at Nintendo refuse to release next-gen hardware. There are hundreds, or maybe even thousands of indie games with higher quality than this trash for a cheaper price, yet get much lower scores from critics.

    There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to touch this game again. Charging $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. Nintendo, you can make all the indie quality games you want. But when I get a $70 game with no guaranteed online multiplayer, that is where I absolutely draw the line. How dare you give me half of the game for $70. I might've actually had fun if it had online. That's the least they could do after increasing the price for this low budget game. It's funny when Zelda fans make fun of COD for being the same game every year. At least there are new maps and graphics every year, while Zelda is the same map and graphics in 6 years. It's mind boggling that this game gets universal acclaim for indie quality at $70, when others work much harder and get panned by critics and gamers.     The game is a masterpiece built on top of a masterpiece. BOTW was a perfect game and this took it up a notch. The new abilities make for great new ways to interact with and traverse the world. I could write pages about it, but I’ll keep it brief, Breath of the Wild was my favorite game, and this is the only thing that can take that crown.

    It's like a mix of with Besiege and previous game.
    You get sick of playing games? (which won't happen for a very long time) Build armored vehicles and planes! Or you can even make a pogo stick!
    Just because of the performance of the game console, if you make something making vehicle in town, you'll get a frame drop, so I cut 1 point.
    Other than that, it's a perfect sequel.

    Do not trust the reviewees who are review-bombing this game. This game is the best Zelda game ever! It is amazing how this is possible on the switch and the best game on the switch to date. Sony fanboys are reviewing bombing this game but its the best Zelda game you will ever play absolutely breath-taking

    A very best continuation to the beloved Breath of the wild.
    The performance,as i've seen is better than BotW when it forst came out,the story is richer,the game is stabil and doesnt crash at all like some ported titles and the future set/ links abilities are new,fun,interesting and overall amazing.

    Zelda tears of the kingdom It is a perfect game that takes you into an open world and with the mechanics almost turning into a sandbox, it allows you to let your imagination run wild You can get into it without having played the previous masterpiece and Adapt to any challenge that the game or yourself proposes, clearly a masterpiece of perfection.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is quite literally the best The Legend of Zelda experience, far exceeding its prior outing Breath of the Wild. The entire game is a puzzle, from navigating the three worlds Sky/Hyrule Kingdom/Depths to the new Zoni shrines and everything in between. This game is a treasure. Everything you see you can pretty much interact with and learning how to make use of every tool you have available to you is challenging and rewarding.

    I can excuse the graphics being somewhat lacking when considering that the hardware the game is designed for is nearly 10 years old. It is truly breathtaking to see. Load times are nearly nonexistent on 10 year old hardware. When you fast travel it takes seconds, and you can transition from the sky to the ground to the depths seamlessly with no loading and no hitching.

    Definitely a must play if you own a Nintendo Switch this year!    … Expand

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
