My god this DLC is awesome!, The master sword trial is fantastic, hard, challenging and makes you really use all your acquired knowledge throughout the game to really go through it, this is a must have for players of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Please enjoy all video games.

It's great, just a nice appetizer DLC pack until the second one (which is included in the initial $20) that will have the bigger story beats.

I love the new hero's trail system, it's helped me explore everything and find some wayward korok seeds. Master Mode and Trial of the Sword are great hold-overs.

Despite not being full of new content, this first DLC adds some great excuses to experience Hyrule again. Especially hard mode makes the player rethink most of the strategies used when approaching combat, and make use of the experience previously acquired.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: The Master Trials is a great DLC! The master sword trial is incredible! In the master mode, the master sword trial is like a nightmare... I love the riddles of the locations of the armors! You really need to open your map and look for it. This DLC is awesome! But I think the pack 2 of the DLC will be more awesome! Great!!!

Solid stopgap DLC. The master quest is exceptionally well done and the trial of the sword is the best iteration of the challenge tower yet. This however, is only a small snack of content and most of the features of this DLC feel like they easily could have been part of the original game. Still, some added fun in my favorite game in a long time is more than welcome.

The Master Trials DLC offers another great way to go back to Hyrule. Trial of Sword is really fun and somehow challenging. Beginning with no weapons or armor you go through levels fighting enemies with limited resources. It requires a lot of strategic thinking and surviving as you go higher.
The Master Mode is also nice for hardcore gamers or if you want some challenges in the game.

The masks and costumes are also great if you're a fan of the past Zelda titles. The Korok Mask is very useful if you want to find and complete all Korok seeds. The Hero's Path mode is also useful that checks your progress. But this feature should have been included to the full packaged since it can be very useful when starting the game. This DLC pack is actually worth it if you want to play more after finishing the game.

I thought this DLC was great, i love the trials of the sword, they were designed very well, so worth it And the new armor and masks was also great. (especially Tingles outfit)
And of course, if you want a good challenge the new master mode does the trick.

This DLC is worth your time and money

The Switch is the best console of this generation and the last. An exceptional add-on to the greatest game in the last 20 years. Trials and hard mode add longevity and challenge to a already near perfect title.

This DLC doesn't offer anything new that will make your experience with the game inherently different. The new masks add more fun to the game (overall), but again, they do not offer something that will blow your mind. The Hard Mode was very challenging at first as enemies regenerate their health, but when you progress in the game and collect new weapons, they are easier to manage. Boss fights are still on the easy side IMO. Hard Mode gives the game a little more difficult, but don't expect something challenging like Dark Souls, for instance, *The trial mode does give you a real challenge though*.

If you want a new reason to play the game, then I say buy. Otherwise, you may want to wait for DLC Pack 2 to justify the price of the game!

Enemies not only have gotten tougher, they also hunt you from flying Octoroc platforms that also more often than not come with some really useful and powerful treasure you don't want to miss out on. All in all I am enjoying every minute of the new mode, finding new ways to beat the odds and finally having a challenge after the much too easy main game. If you're one to whine because your weapon breaks all the time, this Mode definitely isn't for you but if you are, like me, someone that hoards the best weapons in the game, it's finally time for you and me to make use of them :) Expand

This is the best game I've ever played.
Perhaps Zelda's legendary wild breath is the best game in human history.

Nexus, the Kingdom of the Winds, Blade & Soul, Ookami, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it was like watching online.
Action and batting sense are no less than those of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, Ghost of Tsushima and Nih.

This DLC brings up to this already prefect game something that I personally really appreciated : difficulty. With master mode or the trials of the sword, we encounter a new challenge to face, and it's damn hard, but it feels good to do. The lack of difficulty was the only thing I could blame about botw, and it's now fixed.

The DLC 1 pack is very good, especially for people that have played Breath of the Wild in normal mode for 400 hours, and are very into the combat mechanics of the game. It's perfectly challenging for intermediate and advanced players out there. Master Mode essentially becomes your main file in the end, and your normal mode file becomes this thing you can just aimlessly do whatever in. Master Mode basically just makes every enemy a tier up (red => blue, silver => gold etc.), allows them to regenerate health over time, adds these floating platforms all over the place with small treasures on, removes the anti-one-hit mechanic, and makes certain timings harder, like flurry rushes. The Trial of the Sword in normal mode isn't too much of a pain to do, but can be slightly frustrating at times, if you don't have all of the shrines. In Master Mode, however, OH MY GOD. It's extremely difficult, and almost unbalanced. I just barely scraped through, but came out the other side with a completely different view on how difficult BotW could be. Highly recommend, 9/10! The experience that it offers is so different that I'm fine taking the plunge on it. Add to that the fun challenges in the Trial of the Sword and this pack immediately heads back in the right direction. [Issue #29, p. 18]

All in all, this initial DLC pack is worth picking up, especially if you’re still toying around with Breath of the Wild. Granted, the next story focused pack is probably the more hotly anticipated of the two, but the gameplay features, additional difficulty, and the Trial of the Sword challenge are nothing to scoff at here. Definitely pick this up, it’s well worth the asking price.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s first DLC pack, while not essential, tremendously capitalizes on the game’s fantastic mechanics.
