The Champion’s Ballad acts as a perfect tribute to both Breath of the Wild and to the Zelda series.

Breath of the Wild's latest DLC The Champions' Ballad has some problems that cannot be ignored, but its best parts exceed even those of the main game.

Through such arduous trials, the Champions' Ballad pushes Breath of the Wild's mechanics to their limits, whether combat or puzzles. Hence this quest leads to discover all the subtleties of the gameplay, and explore this world deeper with no stone left unturned. Although the riddles are often composed of familiar refrains while the delicate, then ultimately moving narrative remains in the background, this expansion makes The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild even more unforgettable.

The Ballad of the Champions could have been an unforgettable farewell for Breath of the Wild, and instead it is just an excellent appendix.

As inessential as most story DLC tends to be, but despite a few unwanted encores this is still an entertaining, if unnecessary, story expansion.

Yes, the Trial of the Sword is cool, and you can get a double attack Master Sword with stupidly high durability forever, but this one has a MOTORBIKE! A MOTORBIKE!!!!! After getting the motorbike, I never had to walk anywhere ever again! It's got drift physics and it can jump and you can rev it up and... it's perfect. It's a very niche reward for doing all the work you have to do. Man, I love the one-hit obliterator challenge as well. Very fun beginning to the list of enjoyable quests you have to do afterwards. You also get a few exclusive memories which I think give the characters some more personality than in the ones in the base game. It was an incredible addon! 10/10, very much recommend. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This DLC is a lot of fun and adds plenty of new content to this already amazing game. While I expected post- ganon story, what we got is still amazing. The new shrines are challenging and fun, and I had a lot of fun figuring out where they were and doing the challenges to unlock them. Then final dungeon is great and the boss is simply amazing and took me by surprise! And it is very satisfying to be able to ride the Master Cycle Zero through the world of hyrule, however, there isn't really much to do on it if you've already completed the game like me. However, getting the Master Cycle Zero before having completed the game must be amazing for those people who have it. The new armor and horse gear to find both looks cool and is enjoyable to look for. Definitely worth the money and if you have the game you should definitely play through this DLC! Expand

It proves to be more satisfying than the first DLC, but I was left wanting more - especially since I've already beaten the game many times at this rate. The journey is greater than the reward - the prize basically being a cool new gadget and then being told that you're ready to finally face Ganon... which most of us have probably done dozens of times at this rate. I mean, being able to do it with the Master Cycle is pretty cool, but it doesn't add much.

If anything, THE CHAMPIONS' BALLAD makes an already complete game even completer. It's a cherry on top that doesn't add much to the story except more context. Maybe another smaller, yet still massive world was too much to hope for - but that is kind of what I hoped for. The dungeon is the biggest next to Hyrule Castle, which is nice, and the puzzles are cool. Even the new trials are some of the best in the game. The new boss, while fun and awesome, is also pretty easy.

Together, the two DLCs are definitely worth the $20. As a matter of fact, if you haven't played the game yet, I'd recommend buying both DLCs and experiencing them alongside the full game for a more complete experience. Otherwise, you may feel like you're re-treading old territory.

Unlike Botw's first DLC pack, this one was pretty decent. It was much more enjoyable to play and added to the story. A few of the new shrinesUnlike Botw's first DLC pack, this one was pretty decent. It was much more enjoyable to play and added to the story. A few of the new shrines were more annoying than necessary, but other than that they were ok.

However, the new boss was poorly designed. It felt very cheap as Link just seemed utterly out-matched. I beat it on my first try, but due to its poor design and how unfair it felt, that battle was not much fun.

Can't say I was a fan. Played and found it too easy and quite boring. I really don't see the fuss about these games. Bright garbage for children.
