Jan 6, 2019For some reason, everybody says Sonic Forces is bad, but it really isn't. It has great platforming sections, speedy sonic action, and is basically Sonic Generations 2. AND, add on a good storyline, HD graphics, and the best music a video game has ever had, and you get a great game, which because it is great, it gets hated on, like minecraft.

Dec 24, 2018Sonic Forces, my first Sonic game, gave me a love to this franchise extremely quick. This game had a great plot, utterly great controls, fantastic voice acting, and my only wish would be for just a little more post-game content.

Aug 20, 2018Horrible level design, lousy "story", boring gameplay, forgettable music, lackluster animations (isn't it sad that Unleashed, a game from 2008, is still the best looking Sonic game?) and a dark tone that just comes off as forced more than anything else. This might not be the absolute WORST Sonic game, but of all the ones I've played, it's defiantly the one I've hated the most.

Jun 25, 2018This game is filled with bugs that lead to unfair deaths, terrible boss, enemy and level design, and broken physics. Even though this game is not nearly long enough to warrant a 40 dollar price tag, it wasn't physically painful to play through like some other Sonic games.

Apr 13, 2018Good polish localization, really good optimalization. Soundtrack better than Lost World. Gameplay 10/10. Creating our own character is responsible. Box edition has beautiful gifts.

Feb 12, 2018It may not be the best Sonic game out there and it has it's flaws. But it is still a solid experience, if you like games such as Colors and generations.

Feb 3, 2018This game is so fun!! It is not as buggy as usual 3D sonic games. This game also has a great story and awesome gameplay and lets not forget the music!! Making an oc is also pretty cool though! Bottom line, sonic forces is pretty awesome!!

Jan 25, 2018Modern sonic, the custom hero, the bosses, and the tag team gameplay are definitely the strong points, the game runs at a solid 30fps on switch, and the environments look beautiful, especially when docked. However, this score was brought down by classic sonic's gameplay, despite it being enjoyable.

Jan 10, 2018Overall, I'd say Sonic Forces was not a complete failure (Thankfully), as in I had a lot of fun making my custom character and most of the story is pretty good. But, that doesn't make up for the fact that the game has linear level design, and everything happening to quick. To sum it up, it's okay, but it could have used a little bit more improvement.

Nintendo Force MagazineJan 7, 2018It's not a bad game, but after four or so years, it just feels like it ought to be better. [Issue #31 – January/February 2018, p. 35E]

Dec 7, 2017Sonic Forces may be a misstep from this year’s Mania, but it’s still an enjoyable title. While it suffers from a host of problems with pacing and performance, it still is worth a weekend rental with its surprisingly entertaining plot and great music.

Nov 17, 2017Sonic Forces may have created some hype but unfortunately, it mostly falls flat on its face as it quickly becomes obvious that this game is an exercise in disappointment. While the action runs smoothly whether on a television screen or on handheld mode, the game's short and unimaginative levels, the absence of gameplay mechanics that had become a staple of 3D Sonic games, the unreliable controls and the mediocre soundtrack all add up to a very flawed game from which a lot more was expected.
