Online play is absolute garbage. I can't believe they're charging money for this game. When you join another player's game, you have to wait 1-3 minutes to join just to find out that you've spawned as the team that has 10 troops and 4 territories left... When you're actually doing well in online play, it's far too easy for others to troll you and your game. They can join the game, useOnline play is absolute garbage. I can't believe they're charging money for this game. When you join another player's game, you have to wait 1-3 minutes to join just to find out that you've spawned as the team that has 10 troops and 4 territories left... When you're actually doing well in online play, it's far too easy for others to troll you and your game. They can join the game, use 8 cards and destroy half the map in one turn with no strategic plan and then just quit, ruining your game. There needs to be a penalty for quitting an online match! I've also had lots of players join a game and start losing to me and get salty and then take like over 5 minutes a turn just to quit later on... There needs to be a time limit per turn! There's also an issue where if you join another player's game and you defeat them but AI teams still remain, the game will never continue on, it will be stuck on the turn advance screen forever. I waited 20 minutes to see if it would time out so I could claim my online match win but it didn't. Overall, online play is extremely frustrating. Not to mention that many times you can't find a single player online to play against.

Offline Play leaves a lot to be desired as well. The AI is super predictable and lacks any sort of strategic intelligence whatsoever. There are a handful of un-lockable "rewards" in this game, ranging from different dice textures to exclusive game art... Exclusive game art? Really? If there's anyone out of the 104 people who bought this game who were excited to unlock the picture of a jet I'd be pretty amazed....

All that being said, I seriously love RISK and other strategy games. This game is aesthetically very polished it just needs a fairly decent overhaul to go from a disappointment to something I'm excited to play. I think the odds of Ubisoft fixing it are low considering you can't review games on the nintendo eshop so unsuspecting victims will continue to waste there 20 dollars on a crappy game that probably has a better equivalent for free on android/ios.

I made an account just for this game. I don't think at any point it is worth it, maybe if it's on sale and you account share...

There's so little options and the AI is either Easy (aka balanced) or super OP (aka aggresive). If you want to play, just play the free trial.

Ubisoft this is disappointing and to be honest a pretty sad effort for such a great board game.

Unplayable. If any of the player’s internet connection becomes subpar for even a moment they are booted from the game and a round can’t continue. We tried 3 times before giving up forever. Don’t waste your money.

So bare bones you may as well stare at a wall and pretend you're playing risk. Also features long, pointless animations and cutscenes. The unlockables are mostly screenshots of the game. A beyond lazy cash grab.

Even 8-1 battles were lost. Every time. My wife and I tried teaming up on a single AI. Computer won 90% of rolls. There's no point in playing this. At all

The conquest of the planet was never so portable. Although the content is basic, RISK is the perfect choice for lovers of classic strategy both to play with friends and alone.

Taking one of the world's most famous board games and converting it into a Nintendo Switch game could be a remarkable effort if it worked. Unfortunately that's not the case with this version of Risk. Everything that makes the original so entertaining and unforgettable is absent from this adaptation which, while mechanically competent, falls short at delivering in every other aspect which made Risk such a big name to begin with.
