   This game would be good if there was not a huge bug. I believe if you have the game sped up for the bots’ turn it could freeze the whole game.This game would be good if there was not a huge bug. This is unfortunate as I had two occasions where the game froze 20 - 25 minutes into the matches because of it. This felt awful when it happened.… Expand

   As a big fan of Risk Fractions and having a family that enjoy friendly competition, Risk on the PS4 is a good game to play. Unlike MonopolyAs a big fan of Risk Fractions and having a family that enjoy friendly competition, Risk on the PS4 is a good game to play. Unlike Monopoly on the PS4 (see my review, it's god awful), Risk manages to maintain the core fun elements from the original board game.
   The additional 2 game modes added from World Conquest, are Secret Missions and Capitals. While this is a slimmed version from the PS3 Risk Fractions, it's enough to justify a Risk fan buying it, especially if it comes up on PSN sale.
   Pros:
   > Simple layout and easy to set up games.
   > Okay graphics
   > Stats are kept per player, always fun for a geek out.
   > Cards are limited to using 10 (stars in this case) meaning epic bonuses are ruled out.
   > Great family game
   
   Cons
   > No additional maps as featured in Fractions (PS3)
   > While the AI is usually pretty fair, if you select manual and claim say Europe within the picking stage - ALL the enemy AI will place ALL their start troop allocation in single armies on the boarders of Europe. Seems crazy to me that they don't block someone taking Europe when picking territories. This is easily avoided however by claiming all but one spot.
   > online mode, as with monopoly is poorly done without the use of Bots. Ubisoft should realise that 1 out of 5 people will 'board-flip' the game and quit when they start losing, meaning I gave up online and yet to finish a game thanks to quitters. (reading reviews this seems to be universal for this version)
   
   Overall, it's been done well but I'd like to see updates such as extra maps to pick from.… Expand

Of course it is your standard game and that is the reason it gets a 5. Everything they put in to the game is bad and with little content. Sure you can play against your friends on the couch, but if you want to play online you have to hope that you can play the full game, because these online servers are the worst. League game brings a good idea to the game, but Ubisoft should really fix their online counterpart.… Expand

   All these hasbro game channel garbage lack basic functions monopoly misses the local and online mixed play. Risk disconnects everyone when one person quits is slow annoying boring. While the previous version of risk had a broken game chat this one expects you to start a party.
   
   Great if you can't be bothered to set up a board and only want to play against the AI.… Expand

   A fast paced stripped down version of Risk. They play it extremely safe with this version and have removed all of the wacky stuff from RiskA fast paced stripped down version of Risk. They play it extremely safe with this version and have removed all of the wacky stuff from Risk Factions the last iteration of the board game on consoles. The only mode they put any thought into is a "Secret Mission" mode where everyone has a random objective to win the game from destroy all the red team to take over all of Asia Africa and Australia. Warning if you are buying this game for online play with friends. My friends and I have played 5 games of this over the internet. In every game someone has has gotten disconnected there is no way to invite that person back into the game. The AI will take over that persons turn immediately and the game will be ruined. Not one of those 5 games ended well. At one point I was 2 turns away from victory only to have the 2 of the 3 people I was playing against be dropped and my victory to become meaningless. wait until they add the option to join a game in progress before buying this or you will end up frustrated games can take anywhere from 20 min to 2 hours and getting dropped at the hour mark as you were winning or making a comeback is unacceptable.… Expand

   First off, I LOVE playing Risk. I absolutely love playing it. I love it. Now that I've got that out of my system, I can start my review byFirst off, I LOVE playing Risk. I absolutely love playing it. I love it. Now that I've got that out of my system, I can start my review by saying that Ubi has done a fine job of transferring it to digital form. The game feels like the board game and plays enough like it for hard core fans like myself to enjoy it.
   
   Hold on? Why am I then giving it an awful rating? I am giving it an awful rating because Risk is a multiplayer game and if the multiplayer system is hopelessly broken then, regardless of how well the game mechanics work, the game is utter trash.
   
   I tried this game with online friends again and again and EVERY SINGLE time someone got disconnected before the end of the game. Disconnected mind you ONLY in Risk. This has nothing to do with ports or firewalls as Ubi would like us to believe since we all, at one point put ourselves in the DMZ (as well as trying to open the required ports) which did not help. Also, all other games by all other publishers do not have this issue.
   
   Ubi used to be the go to publisher for top notch games. Now it's games are less reliable than indie games. Sad.… Expand
