No abilities, no items, broken stats, bugged battles, frame drops on Viridian forest
Fake mainline game, it’s a phone game legalized for a gaming console.
The battle system confuse the new peoples, they will be more confused when the real next mainline games will come out. It’s better to play Pokémon 3ds games, 3ds games are better also for the kids who start playing for the first time

If you care about the future of gaming, the future of Nintendo or even the future of Pokemon, then stay the **** away from this cash grab.

P.S. I will never accept such a **** argument as "this game is made for the casual crowd".. I mean how much more casual can a Pokemon game get? I was 7 years old when I beat Pokemon Blue (which might actually be the most difficult out of all)... 7 YEARS OLD! And you're telling me that it needs to get more casual? Everytime I play a Pokemon game, I catch whatever Pokemon I want and faceroll everything until the elite 4 which gets A BIT challenging. So screw this game and everyone who thought that this was a good idea.. Also screw the Pokeball controller and it's Mew exclusivity. This game is a fraud

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pretty much the same typical pokemon game you ever expect from Game Freak. Nothing screams challenging single player content. For a JRPG it's pretty low in standards. I'm just going to cut to the chase and give you what exactly what you want.

Is there single player post game content and is there any good replay value?

Yes there is post game content such as the master trainer battles, and SPOILERS! You get to fight trainer Blue, Red, and Green. As for replay value, no. Most modernize pokemon games from the 3DS era onto the Switch STILL weak in the replay value department.

There! That's pretty much what there is to it. If you want to buy the game because it's "Pokemon" then by all means go ahead, but if you pretty much play every single game in the generation. Expecting more of a hardcore single player challenge, more post game content, higher replay value for single player content. I'm terribly sorry but you're sadly mistaken if you think you'll be getting those.

Funny enough, the story is just as bland as X and Y. Despite it being a remake and all. Then again, Red, Blue, Yellow, Fire Red, and Leaf Green always had terrible stories. Don't expect that to change.

Overall, it's just another cheap cash grab, lack of replay value and most of all. Another babies' first JRPG. It's not worth playing and I suggest everyone to turn away from it and hold off until gen 8 comes around. Though let's be real honest. Gen 8 will be **** too so long as Junichi Masuda, Shigeru Ohmori is at the helm of directing these games. Nothing will ever change.

A disaster of a game. GameFreak's laziness masquerades as "a game aimed at beginners": these games are lacking elements that would have made the experience more broadly enjoyable without actually hurting the beginners (no Sevii Isles? Common excuse? The lower budget then. Which makes no sense for a $60 game. This should have cost $25, and instead what we got is a full priced release that better not be a preview of what's to come in the next year.
To top it all off, this is using a basically upscaled port of the engine used on the 3DS, as this does not offer graphics worthy of a home console game (even for a Pokémon game, this could have a much more interesting, detailed overworld), and yet it STILL manages to have its framerate dip at times.

Truly, a disaster that better not set a precedent for the upcoming titles, sold at more than twice the price it's actually worth. Keep that in mind when reading reviews from the press, who didn't have to pay for this title.

If you're an adult, you will likely find this game to be a bad purchase for the price point. It's an extremely watered down experience; many features such as abilities, held items, weather and battling wild Pokemon have been removed, whereas battle animations (or complete lack-thereof) haven't been touched. This all leaves battles boring both visually and mechanically. There is no challenge to be had, and the game also suffers from lag in some areas because it's badly optimised.

Overall I played around 20 hours before loosing interest. I don't feel it's worth the price point at all, and I would not recommend purchasing it when there are far better games available on the Switch.

    1. The game is way too easy. It's impossible to lose a battle. You gain so much experience, that you will always be over-leveled relative to your opponent but also have a team of 6. In the original, going through Mt. Moon was a grind and you either had to fade out or go back to the Pokémon Center. In this game, you just blaze through it with your overpowered and over-leveled starter.

    2. Exp. Share should not be mandatory, and it is broken. The experience each Pokémon gains does not change according to relative level differences. This means that the forsaken Magikarp you buy before Mt. Moon will be hopelessly under-leveled, as it belongs to the slow experience group. Moreover, any Pokémon you catch will usually be under-leveled relative to your starter. The only way to train these Pokémon on their own is to remove all other Pokémon from the party and go around catching useless Pokémon in combos.

    3. There are no wild battles. I honestly cannot understand why they thought this was a good idea. I'd welcome novel ways to capture Pokémon. I mean, you could try befriend them and they would willingly want to join you - a bit like what happens with the starter. The new catching mechanics on their own are stale and boring. Moreover, the fact you don't have to battle wild Pokémon means there is no risk-reward to catching Pokémon in places like the Victory Road, Mt. Moon or the Rock Tunnel.

    4. Very poor frame rate performance in many locations (e.g. Viridian Forest) and poor overworld animations.

    5. Lack of content. If the game is focusing more on catching wild Pokémon, it makes no sense to remove all the next generations.

Very disappointing. I think this game is going to simply gather dust.

Now if that's what it actually was then maybe it would be fine, I would understand if they were limited by hardware or something but they're not. Nintendo has already shown what the switch is really capable of and astounded us with things like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. In comparison this is utterly pathetic. Especially as one of their mainstay franchises.
It just feels so barebones. So many basic features have been stripped away. Of all the features removed the absence of wild battles is the most noticeable. Sure they could be annoying but that annoyance mostly came from the fact that these encounters were randomised. They found the perfect remedy for that by having pokemon appear in the overworld, the player can now decide what pokemon to encounter when they choose. But why then remove the battle element? Having to use this silly catching mechanic for the entirety of the game is just not fun and the joycon controls for it are awful. At least those battles gave some kind of variety to gameplay. And it should be noted that by removing wild battles you're not just stripping away one the most fundamental elements of every mainline pokemon games gameplay but from the story too. The whole reason you're given your starter pokemon in the first place is to protect you from all the other pokemon in the world. In the original red and blue Professor Oak yanks you out the grass and tells you it's not safe out there. Here in let's go the pokemon in the overworld don't even bother chasing you, they just stand around waiting to be caught. The only challenging aspect of wild encounters now is making sure you've brought along enough pokeballs. Theres very little challenge in the game overall. The incredibly broken candy system and the exp share which is stuck on at all times make the trainers who are already pushovers no obstacle at all. Most pokemon games are fairly easy but at least there was online play to supplement that but here online features are incredibly limited, there's no GTS, Wonder Trade, or Battle Spot and you can only battle or trade with friends locally. With no challenge in the main game, very little post game content and limited online features its just a dull experience overall. The bland visuals don't help either. The environments feel sterile. I was initially somewhat excited to see a revisit to kanto, but only because I was interested to see how it would be reimagined with the capabilities of the switch. There is no re-imagining though, instead we just get the same maps and layouts, outdated grid system included, lazily rendered in 3D. They're reusing the models and animations for pokemon that they made 5 years ago for x and y and i've noticed some reuse of animations from sun and moon for npcs too. And fair enough, we're approaching nearly 1000 pokemon now, it's not worth the time to redo those every game, but surely then that should also afford you time to actually put care into rest of the games visuals. And the soundtrack that I've seen a lot of praise for, in the end just turned out to be generic midi orchestrated versions of the originals that lack any real personality of their own.
And all of this is excused because its meant for children and to bring new people into the franchise. So did children not buy any of the previous games? Were those games not designed with them in mind? Did the kids back in the day who's nostalgia Gamefreak are now banking on drop out of the franchise back then? No. A lot of the 'accessibility issues' this game tries to solve were never really problems in the first place. A full understanding of the complexities of breeding, training and battling required for competitive play online were never necessary to make it through the main story. And you never had to touch online if you didn't want to. This already simple game series didn't need diluting further to make it more accessible. And with Pokemon currently being the highest earning media franchise, i don't evenk think accessibility is even an issue for them anymore anyway.
Really not optimistic about the 2019 games if this is all gamefreak has to show for the switch.

Lets move on to the battles. Gamefreak managed to make the game even easier then sun and moon. You don't have to battle wild pokemon anymore. It takes another bite out of the strategy these games used to have. Now you don't have to worry about your pokemon's moves PP. The fun part about pokemon games was the catching mechanic. Taking down the HP of each pokemon, inflicting status effects all to make the catching proces more easy. Its completely gone in this game. Now you just keep throwing stuff at pokemons. Its like they thought "hey, lets change pokemon red in a huge safari zone".

I'm so frustrated with this game. This was supposed to be the first big step for pokemon to a new console generation and they blew it. Luckily we still got smash this year, because Nintendo really dropped the ball this year.

I was very 'eh' about this game initially. I remember first watching the trailer, losing my smile, and just kind of writing these games off as a do not buy. I kept watching trailers though, and eventually decided to give them a shot even if I didn't think they were going to do well. I was wrong. These games are amazing in every sense of the word. They're fun, beautiful looking, beautiful sounding with the remastered music, and a real throw back into the roots of what pokemon was meant to be.

Yes, wild battles are gone. Yes, breeding is gone. Yes, it only has the first 151 aside from the newly revealed pokemon, but it doesn't stop them from being fun. It has it's core elements and a lot of cool things they added that weren't even part of the original games. I won't say what those are to avoid spoiling, but it's worth your money. Even if you're eh like I was, you might just find yourself surprised.

I hate it when people decide to destroy scores based on their entitled notions of what they believe this game should be to them. So I wrote this to say that if you're a parent with a small child that likes Pokemon Go, it's a blast to play this together. It's Kanto of old with some fun new twists thrown in, and having Eevee or Pikachu with you feels amazing. It's like playing the anime. Don't listen to the manbabies that think every game should catter to their crystalized taste of what a Pokemon game is. I've had loads of fun with Sun and Moon, but also with this simpler entry, and I don't even have kids. But I can still appreciate it for what it tries to do. And since Nintendo will introduce the next chapter of de main series next year, I don't really understand what these people complain about.

A lot of critics say that the main series is more complex than this game, they also say that Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee feels like a spin-off with an easier approach to its systems, one that might be cool for new players who think Pokemon Sun and Moon are too daunting for them to get into. They are right. And I want to extend a hand to those players, who love Pokemon Go, and want to try something a bit more hardcore, but not as much as the mainline RPG games. This is made for you, but also for those who like Kanto and gladly see it in HD on the big screen. Honestly, this game is polished as hell, it's not bad or broken in any way. It's loads of fun too, but it's just different from what we're used to with Pokemon RPG's. And that is fine.

And that Mewtwo you could only get from Nintendo Power. So yeah, safe to say I am a Pokemon fan.

Let me also preface with the fact that this won't even be the only Switch game. If you aren't down for an entry level experience, there is a "core" Pokemon game representing the 8th generation coming along in 2019. There's no reason to bash this game in lieu of that. More ttraditional mechanics will return.

The hate for this game is unwarranted. I can only imagine the review bombers are those who never even gave the game a chance. It's sad that this is what "reviews" have become. Never even giving a thing the chance to be what it is.

And Let's Go, Pikachu IS a great game. A solid entry in the Pokemon game list, and certainly worthy of being the first, full-fledged big-screen Pokemon game. While it is lacking some of the modern conveniences and mechanics from some of the later titles, it's not without charm or depth.

What this is, is a re-imagining of Kanto for a modern audience who, perhaps has only really heard of Pokemon via the wildly popular mobile game. The catch mechanics are similar in many ways, and it allows for (one-way) integration of Pokemon from your GO! account.

That is where the similarities to the mobile game begin to part ways, however. Battles are more in the traditional sense, like the 1st gen we fell in love with. There are few new interesting mechanics, and mega-evolutions are still a thing, as well. While the challenge isn't as pronounced in the early game, it's not without the depth of team building that is suggested to be lacking. You can absolutely build and tweak individual stats, and more effectively at that, since you don't need to trade out abilities for things like CUT.

It is a beautifully rendered image of Kanto, as well. The music is fantastic, too. There's a lot of nostalgia here for those of us who actually played Red/Blue/Yellow.

It doesn't have the depth and complexity of X/Y or Ruby/Sapphire. Nor should anyone expect it to. No one should be surprised by what this game is, there have been plenty of early reviews and gameplay demos to give us a pretty good idea of what's going on here.

Aside from that, the "core" game is still coming. So if that's what you're looking for, then avoid this, and don't downvote it just because you don't intend to buy it. If it's not for you, it doesn't make it bad, and Game Freak should be given credit for stepping outside of the box and changing things up a bit for the new generation.

Don't sleep on it just because there are haters. Give it a shot if you've actually given a fair look and it still interests you.

However I cannot recommend this game as it's riddled with questionable controls and design choices, infuriating many veteran players of the series.

While random battles were cumbersome to many, the outright removal of them alltogether may appear very jarring to returning players, especially with the lack of an option to turn wild battles on or off. Controls are another confusing addition, requiring players to use one Joy Con controller when in Docked Mode without any alternative options. While this is made for the Go inspired capture mechanic, the feature is at best mixed, with numerous pokeballs wasted for little reason.

For all the positives and negatives Let's Go provides, the highest I can give it is a 5/10. For some players, Let's Go will be very fun. Others will loathe the forced changes to the Pokemon formula. As a recommendation however, do not listen to those claiming these are perfect or the absolute worst games in the series. Let's Go is neither. These games are a moderately adequate return to Kanto, with changes to the traditional formula that will be a joy or pain depending on the individual player.

A bold new step in the direction of the Pokemon series. This revisit to Kanto perfectly blends both the classic style with elements from Pokemon GO which makes an entry perfect for both new players and old.

The story and game progression itself is like the original Yellow, you get your snowflake pokemon with inflated stats and can pretend to be ash like in the Anime, feel free to remove it to give the game the "normal" difficulty.

The pokemon now follows you! they can pick up items, some of them have unique interaction and overall make the pokemon world feel more alive.

Online stille there, but limited to simple trade with randoms using a code(or a friend if you put the same one) and simple and double battle

Competitively, it's only gen 1 with alola pokemon, and minor moves changes, not as deep as other main game pokemon, but you get the basics, No abilities or held items.

You do not endlessly fling Pokemon balls at Pokemon with nothing else to do. Trainer battles are frequent enough for me to scratch my "battle itch".

All in all, this game is beautiful (for a Pokemon game...), offers a much less tedious IV chaining technique and, technologically speaking, nicely lifts the series from the 3DS to the Switch.

This game is beautiful. I have not used the PokeBall controller yet because that shipment was delayed, but I've only spent about 4-5 hours playing and I can say I don't feel cheated out of my money. It's a rich, nostalgic experience so far. I used to despise the fact that I would be slowed down by a thousand Pidgeys or Rattatas or Zubats or Digletts as I just wanted to advance through the game, with the new design, it's a dream come true. I honestly don't think I'll be able to play the old way where pokemon can pop up any time you're in a cave or high glass. I love the combo system that has been implemented and how that affects your chance to find rare Pokemon.
I did take a point off because while the throwing mechanism is nice, it's not perfect though. And often times it can be inconsistent. In the beginning of the game, when money is low, this is important because a wasted Pokeball is worth more than you think when cash is low.
Having said that, if you have an issue with only one mechanism in a game, you don't drop your score to zero. That's just poor reviewing. There's no way this game is a zero or below a 4. Any score that is a zero should immediately be disregarded but that's for any game.
As for difficulty, I can't honestly remember the last Pokemon game that I felt was challenging. There's always one or two battles that are hard but that's about it. Most of the challenging stuff comes after end-game. I'm not that far in this game to comment on that...

The joycons are not the best motion controllers ever made and in Pokemon Let's Go they're really frustrating. I'll explain. To level up in this game, battle trainers is not very effective. Encounters with wild pokemons doesn't turn in to a battle (if you didn't know it yet), is a throw a pokeball and good luck, just like the mobile game, Pokemon Go. Here is the problem, most of the Pokemons moves like crazy all over the screen, and with awful motion controllers like the joycons, is way too hard to throw the pokeball to a side of the screen (and when you want to throw it to the center of the screen, the pokeball goes to one side, it doesn't make any sense). And that's it, you NEED to master the Pokemon catch if you want to play this well, and that is very very very frustating. Of course, you can play it in portable mode and throw in pokeballs is not that hard, but I want to play Pokemon in my big TV for the first time. I played the thing for like a 2 weeks, put it down cause i got bored and never picked it up again. I can't decide whether to throw it away or burn it because i don't want anyone playing it if i can help it. I work at walmart and the dang thing sits untouched in the glass case i swear let's go pikachu hasn't been touched in 9 months. Let's go eevee was only worth it because of the frickin eevee. I had to start making my own rules for the game just so i wouldn't get bored. I am so glad that sword and shield came out and have battles in them as far as i can tell because we can hopefully forget about this crap piece of game and let it die in the dust. Great for kids yeah but extremely infurating to me. I don't even play competitive. If it had battles i would have no complaints but no frickin no it left me feeling hollow and like all the pokemon i caught weren't even worth it. Another thing is the fricking forced catching the game makes you do, i literally caught a bellsprout and released it after i made it into brock's gym just because screw that piece of crap. The rule's are great as an idea but horrid in exicution and i dare you to tell me it was "fun" because i will debate you till morning come and tell you it wasn't. This game is bad. Now who is it good for? Families. There are good ideas in it and such but it is just a family game. The company may say it's a core game but i will never count it as such nor do i even want to remember it's existance. I got it as a christmas present because i didn't wanna play it and guess what? I was right. about it all. unequivically right. Now if you're a parent that wants to bond with your child sure go play it but the co-op is terrible and it's completely simplified and base-line. They ripped out every bit of challenge from it and i basically beat the game with my eevee while the other pokemon road on its coat-tails, which i got rid of when i went to face the champion because i never needed them. I hope sword and shield are good because literally nothing else could have been worse than this, even games that are literally made to be a joke are better than this joke of a game. I'm an old school, die-hard Pokemon fan. I spent hundreds of hours playing the old Pokemon games (red, blue, green, gold and silver, then Fire red, Emerald green etc.), and I've watched the anime since the very beginning.

Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is the 2018 version of the proverbial Game Boy Color games. The original 152 Pokemon, the Kanto region. The game added graphical enhancements (not to mention Pokemon roaming freely in the wild) and rewarding little features such as being able to ride your favorite Pokemon (you can fly on your Charizard, c'mon, what's not to like!).

What most people seem not to be okay with is the 'Pokemon Go'-like battle/capture mechanics. Gym battles and battling against other trainers remain loyal to the franchise, what has really changed is how you weaken Pokemon before you catch them. You don't grind and battle Pokemon in the wild like in the old days. Now it's basically the Pokemon-Go system, where you simply lure them with berries and what not, keep throwing a pokeball until you get them, and by capturing the same Pokemon over and over, you level up your Pokemon.

In my personal opinion, that absolutely does NOT mean that the developers did a bad job, or that the game is any less interesting or engaging. It's bringing in people from a different generation, people that have experienced this much beloved franchise in a different way than we did.

The only real issue that I see (and that's based on a completely personal reason) is that if you prefer to play with your Switch docked like I do, you must get used to only using one of the joy cons to move around, catch Pokemon etc. So I'm rating it 8. Otherwise it would've been a 9.

All in all, Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is a gem for real Pokemon fans, young and old. And for those that witnessed how times (and gaming) has changed, it brings a fresh breeze that still carries that wonderful scent we all remember playing the older games that were released 22 years ago.

I think rate between 7-8 is more reasonable, but look, how many harsh 0 or 1 points from those "experienced players"? Isn't it unfair? Is the game totally unplayable? It will freeze your NS? The game is cute and decent designed, comfortable for new players, it deserve a decent rating. So 10.

My advice is... Don't believe the user score, it has become a HATE CAN just for not being the main line some where expecting. Even if you don't like it, it does not deserve a 0 or 1, is NOT that bad. This is a GOOD quality game, and those trying to deny that aren't judging through the right lens.

That said, I'm having a really great time, if you don't go around catching every pokemon you see (thus keeping the exp you get under control), or limit your party when they're getting too strong by swapping with weaker mons (that actually makes you feel more like a trainer that takes care of every mon he's got), the game can "feel" challenging too, but again...pokemon's never been challenging in the first place, I wasn't expecting challenge here either.
The graphics are great, the new catching system is less grindy in a pleasurable way, keeping the experience at a decent pace and allowing you to enjoy and relax trough te story.
I don't know why people was expecting something different, given that this game has been marketed as an entry point for new players that have discovered and got passionate about pokemon trough the mobile app.
There's no need to make it a matter of principle, if you are into the competitive/more focused approach to the game, stick to the current gen till the next comes out, in which I hope some of the quality of life improvements (such as the new catching system) will be carried over, in tandem with the more strategic-rpg like elements like held items and so on.

If you wanna have some relaxed fun and have some spare money, just get the game and be positive, this game is about childhood and positivity, it's the game I would have wanted to play when I was a little kid, and it's the game I'd like nowadays kid to play.

So if you're a fan of Gen 1 Pokemon this is a great remake. It's definitely the best looking Pokemon game since all the rest have been on handhelds with lower powered systems. The Switch offers both hand held & more power.

The game is about 30 hours of content & then there's end game content. You can go hunt down the legendary Pokemon which is really fun. They brought the Pokemon Go mechanic into this game. It adds a nice variety to the battles. Now you have traditional battle since now you fight against trainers all over the world & not just inside gym & you also have the Pokemon Go style to catch Pokemon. It actually feels refreshing so you don't get tiresome of the same thing over & over. Pokemon games were known for their repetitive level grind heavy game play. So this is a refresher.

That's where the hate for this game is coming from is cause of the Pokemon Go mechanic being added. But Pokemon Go is extremely popular with 750 million downloads & a user base of 65 million people consecutively each month. If you're a fan of Pokemon I employ you to give it a chance. You'll find that it is actually very enjoyable & quite addictive to catch them all.

Beautiful, marvellous and nostalgic. I´m very happy and proudly with Game Freak and The Pokemon Company. All days I go out my home and catch pokemon on GO and then ,in my home, transfer my new pokemon to switch. Its so perfect. And the new level up mechanic catching is more logic (not to kill every wild pokemon).I love shiny hunting and the chain to find good ivs.

Pokémon: Let's Go, Évoli! was heavily criticized before the release. Especially the removal of battles against wild Pokemon was described as a burden. When playing shows, however, that the new system also has its advantages. So it is less dependent on chance, because you can choose the desired Pokemon

Pokemon Let's Go does well what it is supposed to do : it's a nice and fun HD remake of the first generation of Pokemon games. Seeing pokemons roaming the overworld was a dream come true, and the new pokemon catching mechanic didn't bother me. The old mechanic of having to weaken pokemons sometimes felt like a complicated grind to me, either way I don't have a preference for what the catching mechanics should be for the next core game.

But, of course, it is a Game Freak game, meaning a complete lack of ambition. The game would be so much better if Game Freak decided to expand and create fewer but bigger games. The NPCs are just standing there, not moving and all looking the same. Game Freak didn't bother giving them at least different hair and clothes colors. This makes the world feel dead or weird at times. The menus are still convoluted. The game requires so many buttons presses for the simplest of actions, like healing pokemons and looking at the map. Riding Charizard is cool until you need to go through a building to reach the next area : you then have to go into the menu and put him back in the Pokeball and take him out again once you went through...

Final point, I am clearly upset by the one joycon controls. The fact that Game Freak forced them into our throats and didn't implement the Pro Controller compatibility is such a cheap move to entice customers to buy the pokeball plus, which, by the way, is the only way to get Mew. When will the masterminds at Game Freak finally be replaced by younger people who love gaming and understand gamers ? Who knows.

Overall, the Pokemon franchise is so charming that, despite its obvious flaws, it is still a pleasure to play these games. They deserve 8/10 for me.

I think there have been different forms to play pokemon apart from pokemon go or latest games of pokemon from 3DS, Nintengo pelase, take a though on it.

My score would be 75. Nonetheless I think that the current 5.9 is unfair, so i am going to put 10 instead.

Pokemon Lets go, Pikachu is essentially a 20 year old game with 5 year old graphics and a slightly new catching system. The only enjoyable aspects of this game for me were collecting the 150 pokemon. The trainer battles are a slog and ultimately come down to getting out your type advantage and spamming a move until on pokemon dies. So i'm glad there aren't any wild battles because they would've made the slog much worse. The battles do get better though and I find myself cheering for my mons like I did when i was a little kid. Unfortunately this was only around the 6th gym.

The resolution is a step up but it should be and the cut scenes with your avatar are nice. However, in x and y(not sure about sun and moon) there are moving dynamic backgrounds with flowing foliage and petals dancing in the wind; these effects aren't present in lets go. There are these nice models with some pretty stellar battle animations(Lovely Kiss, Blizzard are two of my faves) but the arena's themselves seem very rigid and almost lifeless. Also the limited amount of camera angles become noticeable a dozen hours in. In pokemon stadium there would be a lot of wide sweeping shots or aerial shots that aren't present here. I think its because the battle arenas are too small and to properly see large pokemon like onix or alolan exeggecutor the camera would have to zoom past the boundaries.
The overworld locations are almost all pretty forgettable and some places even bleed into eachother. The gyms are kinda nice though and the 7th one is a real treat.

catching pokemon is a lot more fun and probably was the most enjoyable part of the game for me.
I never played much go so maybe it would've been stale if i played that. I love that you can see pokemon on the overworld and I think the catch combo system is pretty neat. I never bothered shiny hunting in the previous series because it was a whole lot of work but it seems almost feasible in this game. Also the ability to just avoid pokemon is really nice if i want to get on to my next objective. Ultimately, in the previous games catching pokemon boiled down to getting the enemy pokemon down to 1 health, giving them paralysis or sleep and then hoping for the best. Once you figure it out it's not fun or engaging it's just an extra hoop to jump through. The new system is straight up gambling with a minigame but it's a lot faster and cuts out the extra steps.

All in all this is a pretty lazy remaster of red and blue. there's still a lot of fun to be had in building up your team and catching the 150(171 i think if you count alolans, meltan and mew). But everything else just feels like work. definitely not worthy of a 10 but also definitely not worthy of a 0.

They change some game play since you catch most wild pokemon instead of battling them(some you do still battle). This isnt that big of a deal to me but something i would not want to carry over into the 2019 gen 8. The throwing creates its own lvl of difficulty and strategy as well. One must learn to pay attention to the pokemons animations and do not just toss balls at it. I think i would quite enjoy a combination of fighting and throwing. Since throwing the ball, especially when you have the pokeball plus, is really immersive and fun way to play the game. I recommend getting the pokeball plus as i think it is worth the price which is the same as other joycons. You can also take your pokemon out for walks and play with it to hear it make noises from the controller. Which honestly is such a great idea.

one other thing i really enjoyed that i hope makes it into gen 8 is pokemon following you. This is something fans have been wanting for a long time. I also enjoy being able to see the pokemon in the world. This makes the game a really immersive experience seeing and hearing the pokemon.

things i think are a bit disappointing is the fact that you can not play mini games in the arcade which is why i gave this a 9/10. There is no reason not to be at least able to have mini games in the arcade. This could have really raised the fun aspect of the game. Another thing is although i do highly recommend the pokeball plus as a controller i do not think including mew in it is very fair to other players. I like the idea of it coming with a pokemon so im not exactly sure what they should have done. but this is the only way to get mew so i just dont think thats fair. However it is worth the price as a controller and is a lot of fun.

While the game has a few changes it really sticks to the core of what makes pokemon pokemon. It is a full fledged pokemon game and i am personally very happy with my purchase.

Well, I saw her enjoying herself so much and sometimes I looked, I confess I was amazed at the level of detail and the kantou nostalgia took me. I decided to give them a chance for the "junk game," as many people said, and I discovered that they were just blind haters. Because when playing, I was excited. My niece had Let's Go Eevee and as I played, I was overwhelmed by a strong feeling of nostalgia and I became excited with each catch, interact with the Pokémon, they followed you, being the difference interactions. I decided to buy Let's Go Eevee to have a game of mine and not have to make an excuse to stay at my sister's house when I wanted to play. I started playing in my house and I was falling in love. Soon I saw that the criticisms I read so much were unfounded and the result of haters, which only turned away hatred blind and intense. I researched and saw that it would be a parallel line of games and I loved that idea. It will have the traditional line and this parallel. I was thrilled when my world expanded at the end of the Elite Four. Seriously, I was happy when I saw myself flying high in the sky, crossing the map at will on the back of my Charizard. Seeing everything from above was indescribable and the challenge of the Masters, very challenging. I thought to pass them and luckily, I bought pokéball plus. I was able to challenge Mew's master. I finished Let's Go Eevee, I bought Let's Go Pikachu. I'm in Elite Four and I barely see the time of my world being expanded. I super indicate this game and I ask to ignore the haters.
