Jul 19, 2020Great soundtrack
Amazing visuals
Interesting environments
My only gripe with it is the battle system and the fact that there's no incentive to battle, but the rest of the points more than make up for it. EDIT: 2 years later and the game grew even more on me. 9/10! -

Jul 26, 2020Really love the game and its writing. The dialogue really cracks me up in some scenes. The level/world design is beautiful, but the combat/boss battles can range from extremely tricky on one battle, to easy peasy immediately afterwards as you progress.

Jul 24, 2020Only issue I had was with the awful fighting mechanics, as I played the game theg became more tolerable but still annoying. Story is excellent with plenty of play time. Took me around 25 hours to beat my first play through while collecting items.

Jul 26, 2020Combat is the only thing I'm not a big fan of, but the boss battles are super fun and the art style and music is fantastic.

Jul 19, 2020Muy buen juego, muchísimo mejor que Color Splash.
Si tuviese más mecánicas rpg como subida de nivel y stats sería un juego de fácilmente 9,5-10. -
Jul 28, 2020Gran juego y excelente paper Mario.

Jul 30, 2020It’s an improvement I can say that. I actually like this game a lot. The humor is actually kinda good. I can see why people like this game. I give it an 8/10
-
Jul 30, 2020I think that the game is really good overall. The story is nice and it feels good to have Mario and Bowser fight on the same side, against a greater threat. Also, I feel like I am one of the only people who likes the combat system.
And as always, fantastic soundtrack! -

Ninty Fresh MagazineDec 21, 2020The Origami King is a game greater than the sum of its parts. It reaffirms Nintendo’s status as king of innovation, even if the folds don’t quite align. [Issue #2, p.66]
-
Dec 16, 2020Paper Mario: The Origami King arrives on Nintendo Switch with very high quality graphics, a pleasant soundtrack and a plot full of very good humor, typical of the Paper Mario series. Among countless places to visit, bosses to win, and puzzles to solve, the game can be considered one of the best in the franchise.

Oct 29, 2020Paper Mario deserves better. The prestige of a Final Fantasy veteran appropriating his magic onto a handicraft world deserves better. The unforgettable wit and lovable cast expanding Mario lore deserves better. And we know that Intelligent Systems can do better than committing themselves to a misguided identity crisis.
