Oct 29, 2020Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a game that is sure to make faithful fans of the series happy and bring in new fans too. It’s a unique 2D platforming puzzle adventure that the community needed a good reminder that it exists. Although the controls can get a little out of hand even after playing for a while, the story and gameplay give the game a unique charm that I haven’t seen in most platforming games for a long time. Abe and the Mudokons are some wacky characters that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon and hope to see more remakes and new installments from Oddworld Inhabitants soon! But for now, Oddworld: Abe’s Odysee really is New ‘n’ Tasty!

Oct 27, 2020The remake of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a success of style, fidelity and gameplay. Adding a few elements to the original, the game confirms itself as a milestone for a genre lost in time that finds a way to live anew.

Oct 27, 2020If you've already fallen for Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! in 2014 or 2015, be aware that there is no need to go to the cash register again. The Oddworld Inhabitants remake is in every way similar to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. We therefore find the same qualities as well as the same defects. However, if you're discovering the license today, we strongly recommend this version, since the title gains in flexibility thanks to the arrival of an addition of size, the nomadic side of the console which fits perfectly with the spirit of the Die & Retry title.

Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New 'n' Tasty is a great remake, also now available on Nintendo Switch. If you want to try this classic, this edition is definitely a good choice.
-
Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty comes to Nintendo Switch so that we can enjoy the remake of a classic game now also in handheld mode. It is the same version of the remake that was released on other platforms years ago with the same quality.
-
Nov 13, 2020A short but delightful and funny 2D puzzle platformer.
-
Nov 9, 2020A few smart upgrades and gorgeous visuals give Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty a fantastic modern-day shine, and the smart puzzle platforming gameplay and dark sense of humour remain intact. While this port isn’t quite new anymore, it’s definitely still tasty.
-
Nov 2, 2020Oddworld New 'n' Tasty is an absolute classic with gameplay that holds up today, that unfortunately isn't as technically sound on the Switch.
-
Oct 28, 2020It's the same game released in 2014 for PS4, and then ported to PS3 and Vita. It's a superb platform adventure, with a touching message and an unforgettable cast. But, if you played it back then, here you won't find anything new, neither good nor bad, because everything is here, from the real time savestate to... not controlling Abe with the D-pad.

Oct 28, 2020Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a faithful remake of the iconic 1997 classic, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. Fans of the original as well as those who love puzzle games will find a lot to enjoy in the newest installment of the franchise.

Oct 28, 2020I didn't expect to like Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! before I played, or during my initial time with it. But the unique level design, likable main character, and excellent soundtrack turned me around. Delivering Abe through harrowing situations felt like an accomplishment, and the design restraints forced me to face each level with its own particular approach. Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! is definitely worth your time.
-
Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! may be my first foray into the series proper, but it’s immediately shown me that I’ve got some catching up to do. Some graphical and frame-rate issues don’t detract from the charming, challenging platformer gameplay that makes this an adventure well worth having.
-
Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! is a faithful recreation of the PS1 gem that is going to welcome back fans of the original. With some worthwhile future proofing in the form of quicksaves and screen panning, the trip is that little more accessible. For new players however, there is a chance that the awkward controls marring the precision timing needed might alienate and frustrate. Give Abe a chance however and even with the wealth of platformers available on the Switch, this stands tall as a title worthy of the purchase. A delicious remake.

Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - New'n'Tasty! arrives on Nintendo Switch not exactly in top form, offering a visually more sacrificed version than some of the editions seen previously.
-
Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a great remake of a classic platformer that feels right at home on Nintendo Switch.
-
Oct 27, 2020If you didn’t get a chance to play this as a kid or take the opportunity to play the remake, I’d strongly recommend giving it a go before Abe Soulstorm — the reimagining of the game’s sequel — arrives on the PS5 next year. Though the humour is juvenile at best, with Abe often communicating in chuckles and farts, it is a perfect example of someone finding light and hope in utter darkness. We could all do with a bit of that right now, couldn't we?
-
Oct 27, 2020Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a great adventure platformer that is now accessible on Switch. It’s definitely showing its age in terms of controls and design, but it still holds up all these years later. Nothing has changed in this release, so it might not be worth playing through again if you already have, but if you haven’t, this is the best time to join Abe and make your escape.
-
Oct 27, 2020Context of the original really can inform what level of accolades someone might give Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty. Without it, you might find the game a bizarre, competent, if clunky, 2D platformer with a few extra tricks up its sleeve. Looking back at Abe’s Oddysee, it couldn’t be clearer how much refinement was done in the action, and how much effort was taken to make it visually pleasing insofar as this world can be. There’s an undeniable charm in its oddness that provides a flavor to this Switch port either way, which makes it easy to recommend. Just make sure to give your fellow Mudokon co-workers a friendly hello.
