Jun 11, 2020Очень понравился визуальный стиль, атмосфера и повествование, местами история. Однако всё испортил гринд и его обязательность для прохождения сюжета вкупе со случайными боями.

May 15, 2020This game looks great. It is the dream of any retro inspired game to look this good. Other than that it is very retro in that it plays just like something which would come out in 1990. Good to scratch a nostalgia itch, but that's about it

May 1, 2020Despite not being a big fan of this retro artistic section, I must admit, it is impressive in this one. The game is outstanding in the playable section in its turn-based combat and has an incredible soundtrack. To put something down, I think the game is short on end-game content. But definitely recommended.

Apr 27, 2020Awesome rpg, really impressed me. Feels right at home on the switch. The graphics are amazing and very stylized. The characters are fun relatable and memorable. I would recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy rpgs and awesome medieval soundtracks they can listen to outside gameplay. Very good game yes very good.

Mar 29, 2020Very nice graphics, great experience. The reason I come to this game is because it has a really good soundtracks (one of the reasons I play JRPGs). The downside is that the plot of each character has no relationship and interaction between the characters, but for me, the story is temporary. I still give 10.

Mar 12, 2020The game is fine. It's the price that's a joke. 80 dollars Canadian?!!! What the hell is this company thinking? It's a $40 game AT MOST. It's a wonderful game, but the price is an absolute joke. The game could have been made on Super Nintendo. Whoever is responsible for the pricing scheme needs to be fired and thrown into a pit. It really makes Square look like a sack of poo.

Feb 29, 2020This game is really fun and I spent so much time battling and roaming the surprisingly expansive world. The graphics are gorgeous and its a steal if the story wasn't terrible. I'm not that much of a critic but this story just had me pressing the skip button every single time. Other than that its worth it!

Feb 23, 2020Great atmosphere and grahpics. Love the oldschool artstyle. The oldschool JRPG combat system feels solid. One big flaw of the game is the 8 seperate stories that they put in the game. It somehow doesn't feel right.

Feb 1, 2020What a beautiful and subtle game this is. Music and artistry are masterful done.
Its not without some room for improvement though, the ties that bind the 8 characters together require a lot of digging, and while you can get to the credits without exploring deeper into the world's lore I urge anyone to pursue the "optional" super boss, which neatly wraps the adventure together. -

Dec 31, 2019Overall it is a fun JRPG game and I enjoyed that it has small innovations on top of the traditional JRPG structure. I just with it can reduce the chances that you encounter monsters in dungeons, sometimes it is annoying.

Dec 28, 2019Qué joya de videojuego. Cada día descubro algo nuevo que me encanta. Ese componente estratégico bien valanceado para poder hacer frente a los enemigos. Es una compra obligatoria en Switch.

Dec 12, 2019great music and job and turn battle mechanics, but the lack of character development, all having **** stories, i know there is an ending that ties some of the quests but i really didnt even want to get it; the battle system is the only reason to play this game, and if you get the 4 secret jobs you can broke your party and it's amazing.

Jun 21, 2019While those looking for a deep, story-heavy RPG might find Octopath Traveler lacking, the game is a hugely enjoyable modern take on traditional turn-based games of yesteryear with a collection of short story, rather than novel-length, narratives. The graphics represent the pinnacle of pixel art and the score is amazing. This game was pretty much a system-seller for me and well worth every penny and hour spent with it.
-
CD-ActionOct 25, 2018You can either hate Octopath Traveler’s art direction or love it, but it definitely will not leave you indifferent. Distinct visuals are just one of the game’s many strengths which make it a feast for the fans of jRPGs – and much more than that. It’s not flawless though – the dungeons are bland and there are virtually no relations between the characters in your party as they don’t communicate almost at all. [09/2018, p.66]

Sep 13, 2018Octopath Traveler is unapologetically old-school, and would not have been out of place if it had released back in the golden age of JRPGs.
