Minecraft on the PC is way better. This version isn't too bad - but the multiplayer can be weird when it comes to local vs online connecting. While a bit buggy at times it can be frustrating to get everything settled again. Often times the second player controller glitches out and will not re-calibrate and requires a reload of the game. But all in all it's a good game to play with the kid.

It's Minecraft that's simple. With no mods the game really doesn't stay interesting for long. But the Mario pack is cute and fun but it's just vanilla Minecraft with a Mario pack

This version of the game starts at a disadvantage, being based on the Bedrock (Console, Windows 10) version of the game rather than the, in my opinion, far superior Java (PC) version, but that's to be expected. It took months to get a response from Mojang support on the issue, they told me to contact Nintendo for a refund, which I didn't want- I wanted the content that dissappeared from their game back.
Customer service issues aside, yes, this is Minecraft Bedrock Edition, which at its core, yes, is Minecraft. But I've experienced a number of confusing and frustrating glitches that make me vastly prefer, and only be able to wholeheartedly recommend, the PC version.

Minecraft was a good game, nonetheless Microsoft is the worst thing that happened to it, but now it seems I can't play. I really wish there were good games out there...at least that aren't riddled with bugs and glitches. Expand

This Switch version Minecraft is a pale wish copy of the famous best-selling video game on the planet. Freezes and bugs to all go, not to mention the accessibility of this title with The Nintendo Switch Online + A Microsoft account, with an interface as if I opened a virus ... But Minecraft remains and will remain a safe bet for always!!!

Its Minecraft. Its good. However I don't like how it controls. I like playing Minecraft on the go but the controls kind of ruin it for me. I haven't gotten used to them. Other then that its... Minecraft.

Ok, ok. I love mein kampf. It's a lovely, relaxing game with an understandable and fun idea. Hehe. I do have a problem with the switch version tho. There is no zombillie? Thats not what was planned i mean cmon? An important character in the gaming industry deserves a Mein kampf skin i think. Cmon Kcom. Sort your game out please.

While I would call the PC version to be the definitive version. The Switch version is not bad. Unfortunately until you can sustain yourself with things like food, diamonds and redstone "contraptions" the game isn't great, but stick with it and you won't be disappointed.

The first experience I had with the Bedrock version on the Switch was bad, because of the absurd consumption of ram on the Marketplace, which you have to close and reopen the game after use so as not to destroy the performance of the created world. After all I noticed that the game runs pretty well at 60fps, with an OK rendering distance, but fully playable. There is the fact that the volume of the game is lower than others. MOJANG does need to do a performance and rendering update on Switch """NOW""", but it's still fun. Expand

Minecraft will always hold a special place in my heart, the game practically dictated my life from ages 12-14, and I've always found myself coming back to it as a social experience.

Having not touched the game for well over 3-4 years, I came back to play it with my girlfriend, and we both had a good time. It's always fun to muck about on the overworld, build a house, and go mining for diamonds and treasure. There was a wealth of new content added since I last played, which was exciting to discover together with my partner, but we burned out of stuff we wanted to do after a week or two with the game, which has generally been my experience in the past. Still, a solid game with lots to mess about with, and a great backdrop for socialising with others.

Survival mode is fun for a while especially with friends but it gets old pretty fast for me at least. Does have some good servers but not a lot of them.

It's good, the drawback is that you can play with only two Joy-Con not one, and moving the camera is annoying and impractical unlike the PS4 Edition, and might slip and freeze.

The game has a universal appeal, and its status as a modern classic is uncontested. This is just another block in its pedestal. [Issue#189, p.80]

It's still Minecraft, and after all these years it's held up, especially when you can pop your Switch out of the dock and bring it wherever you want. [Issue #28 – July/August 2017, p. 17]

Thanks to the Switch edition’s versatility, combined with the free and exclusive Super Mario mash-up pack, this is one of the best versions I could have started out with and is an ideal purchase for fans on-the-go and newcomers alike.
