    I've played all the metroid games & prime games. This is a true remaster, the graphics look absolutely beautiful, and the overall gameplay is phenomenal. Beings back so many memories of playing the first one, definitely a must have for anyone that's a fan of the series & new new fans as well.

    Also the 25 negative reviews.... If your a huge fan please people ignore them!!! Just a bunch of    I've played all the metroid games & prime games. This is a true remaster, the graphics look absolutely beautiful, and the overall gameplay is phenomenal.     When I played this game 20 years ago, I knew I was playing something special. 20 years later, this masterful remaster proves Metroid Prime truly is one of the greatest of all time. You simply should not miss this if you appreciate the video game medium.

    Played the original Version on the GameCube and I can definitely say, that this is a masterful Remake. They put in so much care in updating design and graphics without destroying the atmosphere of the original game. It’s really surprising, how well this game holds up so many years later.     A nigh-perfect remaster to a nigh-perfect classic title. This is probably the absolute best-looking game on the Switch so far--it's hard to believe it can run at a consistent 60 frames with the hardware it's on, and even harder to believe such a high-quality rework isn't priced at a full 60 dollars. The unbeatable atmosphere and attention to detail the original game is known for is onlyA nigh-perfect remaster to a nigh-perfect classic title. This is probably the absolute best-looking game on the Switch so far--it's hard to believe it can run at a consistent 60 frames with the hardware it's on, and even harder to believe such a high-quality rework isn't priced at a full 60 dollars. The unbeatable atmosphere and attention to detail the original game is known for is only amplified here. There are plenty of control schemes to choose from in this version, including a modern dual-stick FPS-style layout and the (admittedly clunky) original GameCube layout. Prime's only real flaw is probably the pointless and tedious collect-a-thon crammed into the end of the game, which is unfortunately still present here. The only gripes I have regarding the rework itself would be that it's a little too cartoonish for my taste in some areas (like the smoothed-out text font) and that the removal of the traveling light emissions from beam weapons does hurt immersion a little bit compared to the original version.… Expand

    I wouldn't call a remake of an old game a shadow drop in the same sense of Hi-Fi Rush, but seeing as how much better this remake looks, I guess that could be up to date. I'm not playing when I say this is the first time I've been visually impressed by a Switch title.

    Juegazo, como siempre lo recordé el título es engañoso ya que parece más un remake que una remasterización, es recomendable si ya lo haz jugado o es tu primera vez no te va a decepcionar.

    Masterfully made!
    This remake is exactly what I remember playing back when I was young. The lighting is on point, the graphics are fantastic and the game is still as good as ever, maybe better with the dual stick style gameplay. Its also faithful because it has the old way of playing it. I love it.

    I don't understand how this game is getting such great reviews. It might've been good for it's time on Gamecube (I played it) but the combat and level design are super weak compared to games of the modern era (see Metroid Dread). It is not worth $40 IMO.

I have every detail of the original GC Metroid Prime memorized, I know it like the back of my hand, and as a tradition I play it once a year from start to finish. That being said, the remaster perfectly captures the essence of the original game perfectly and I say that with no hyperbole. It doesn't drastically change the art style like most remakes, butThe game is absolutely fantastic. That being said, the remaster perfectly captures the essence of the original game perfectly and I say that with no hyperbole. It doesn't drastically change the art style like most remakes, but gives it a much needed face lift, so much so it actually shows the original Prime's age. The dual stick controls make it handle like a dream, and for purest who like the tank controls of the original, that is an option to play with, among other control styles like the Trilogy releases motion controls, or you can do hybrid controls for gyro aiming for those who want it. The game might be running on dated hardware at this point, but it's hard to tell with how fantastic this game looks, being visually on par with current day releases. It runs at 60 FPS and does not hiccup once during the entire run (Yes, this includes handheld mode), and load times are almost non-existent; with me only being able to count one loading screen ever in all three of my play throughs. The music is left totally untouched, just of a much higher quality, and some mixing issues were fixed so we can now hear the soundtrack as intended, sound design has seen some tweaks with added details.

    Metroid Prime Remastered sets a new standard for what a remaster should be. Granted, this will never replace the original for me, I will still play my old GC initial release for speedrunning, but if I just want to play Metroid Prime again? This is the version I will be playing for the foreseeable future. It just has so many improvements over the original that the tree things in this remaster that I dislike will come off as nitpicks. By the way, those two little gripes are the lack of holograms around Samus' boots when she obtains Space Jump, the mirrors in the Chozo Ruins don't reflect Samus, and Samus' face admittedly isn't a good look for her (at least in my opinion. She doesn't look bad, but she can look better). In conclusion, PLAY IT. You owe it to yourself if you love Metroid, if you love FPS games, if you love metroidvania's, or if you want a good time. This game really shows you what the Switch is really capable of when you have competent developers behind the wheel.

    Also, if you're looking to emulate the game on a Steam Deck, please support Retro Studios and buy the game and show Nintendo this is where the moneys at.    … Expand

    This game is fantastic. 60fps dual analogue supper, gyro support if you prefer that, Wii style controls, whatever you want you get it. They gave tons of accessibility options, and they fully rebuilt and redid the assets, this is really more of a remake than a remaster. 10/10.

    This game is just amazing, they really knocked it out of the park with the updated visuals. Simply one of, if not the best looking game on the switch. The gameplay still holds up to this day. This is my favorite video game of all time

    I was not expecting that release with so much graphic enhancements and 60 FPS, the game is gorgeous and the gameplay as perfect as before, if not better because the enhancements! I'm very impressed by it, I almost finished it already! Top recommendation on Switch!

    Los gráficos están bien chulooos y la banda sonora... hombreeeeee musicazaaaaaaa, vamooos la optimización y personalización de los mandos se la han rifado, sin bajones de frames todo fluido explotando los recursos de la consola de lo más top de switch.     An absolute stunning display of the Nintendo Switches hidden potential. I was blown away by the visual clarity and Retro Studios ability to maintain that 60 frames per second we have come to love. This game is a true testament to the importance of taking the time to get things right. If this is the same team developing Prime 4 I think the Nintendo Switch easily has 2 more years.

    Finally a proper remaster, and of a great game at that. What could be improved was (graphics, minor QoL changes, UI) and what didn't to wasn't (gameplay, music). The fact that this runs 60fps on the switch is a technical achievement, it is simply the best looking switch game on the market at the time of this review.

    Absolutely beautiful remake with options for however you prefer to play. I would've preferred the trilogy, but this is the 2nd best game in the trilogy and I'm very happy to see this remastered. One of the biggest reasons is because the Switch is much, MUCH more popular than the GameCube. I'm sure this will get the Prime series in more hands than ever before. Welcome new Metroid fans!

My only complaint is the same complaint I had back in 2002, the game is a little short. An experienced player will easily pass it in 8 to 10 hours.     JUEGAZO !!! Un Remaster que mas bien parece un Remake, excelente el trabajo que ha hecho Retro Estudio con este juego. Gráficamente perfecto y con unos 60 FPS estables todo el tiempo. La verdad muy contento con el juego y se lo recomiendo a todos !!!

    Reworked textures from the ORIGINAL Gamecube version which means the water physics are back, (which were absent from the Wii version,) not only that but they are completely new assets, meaning higher quality textures, higher resolutions and a locked rock solid 60fps frame rate. Metroid Prime is my favorite Metroid game of all time, it was that perfect balance back in the day, it was its'Reworked textures from the ORIGINAL Gamecube version which means the water physics are back, (which were absent from the Wii version,) not only that but they are completely new assets, meaning higher quality textures, higher resolutions and a locked rock solid 60fps frame rate. Metroid Prime is my favorite Metroid game of all time, it was that perfect balance back in the day, it was its' own entity; a hybrid between FPS shooters and Zelda, far from the "Nintendo Halo clone" that so many compared it to. They are incomparable, it's far beyond that title and deserved this remaster. I cried tears of joy when seeing this shadow drop and the physical copy releases on my birthday!! Thank you Retro Studios/Nintendo. Best looking/controlling/use of HD rumble on a Switch game I've seen since Breath of the Wild.

    I try not to play into review bombing and trust me, I have bombed games that truly deserved it in my opinion...but to say this looks like it runs on an emulator tells me you truly have not played this game. I've played it on an emulator in 4K 60fps, yet, this still blows me away.    … Expand

    Beautiful amazing I first experienced this classic 16 years ago and it felt like the first time again just yesterday thank you retro studios you’ve found a way to make me love Metroid even more then I already did bravo.

    I played Metroid Prime on the Gamecube and was looking forward to playing it again on the Nintendo Switch, but I was afraid of what this port would be like. Playing it with this remastering job was like receiving a gift. Simply fantastic remake.

Boring bosses, very badly done backtracking sometimes(Chozo Artifacts for example) and overall really outdated combat makes this game unenjoyable to play. But it's still better, than most games nowadays. 2D Metroids always were much better in terms of gameplay, butIt's a good game. It's pheonomenal immersive journey with great sense of isolation. But there is some problems with the game. Boring bosses, very badly done backtracking sometimes(Chozo Artifacts for example) and overall really outdated combat makes this game unenjoyable to play. But it's still better, than most games nowadays. 2D Metroids always were much better in terms of gameplay, but Prime game also should shine sometimes.     Honestly thought this was going to be a simple upscaling and done. But nope you can tell they put care into this game to make sure everything just runs as best as possible. Never got to play Metroid Prime as a kid, parents wouldn’t get me a game cube. But as an adult who has been waiting for this games to come out. I could not be happier.

    This game is more like a remake in my opinion. Everything is just perfect. The remastered come with different control if you want to experience the old classic control on the GameCube. This is one of my top 10 best game on the switch.

    It's literally just better than the masterpiece it already was. Nothing else to say, get it if you love Metroid, get it if you haven't played it yet, JUST GET IT. It's worth its price and I don't care what crybabies have to say about it.

The game runs flawlessly, looks incredible with the updated models and assets, and plays fantastic with a ton of various control options.     Retro Studios once again made it. The original on NGC was not only one of the best games on the system, but also one of the best ones ever. This total overhaul is even better. It feels great, looks beautiful, sounds incredible. This is a masterpiece and an example to follow when making remakes.

I love scanning items and solving puzzles and finding upgrades. The gyro controls added makes it feel so natural. This game is absolutely a blast.     I own the original prime, gamecube, wii, wiiu digital versions. This stealth dropped and purchased instantly. Quite simply put, this is the best remaster I have ever played. It's 60fps on switch, and one of the best games of all time is now possibly the best switch game since botw. Absolutely incredible work of art and instant masterpiece.

    Its brilliance has not faded at all even after 20 years have passed
    more brilliant.

    A perfect remaster is close to a remake, leaving the original texture as it is,
    You get modern, perfect controls and the best graphics on the switch.

Retro did not simply upscale the textures, but rebuilt everything almost entirely from scratch, to include more polygons, better lighting, and more effects. All of this makes Metroid Prime gameplay simply alright, at best.

    This remaster makes dual stick control finally viable, but sets up a host of other disastrous control schemes make the overall controls an overly complicated failure.
    1. Jump button is different from the Morph ball jump button.
    2. Super missile needs 2 button presses instead of just holding down the Missile button, which is crazy.
    3. There’s zero full button mapping available.
    4. Changing Visors/weapons harder than it should be.
    5. Changing thermal or X-ray visor needs an extra button press every time you want to go back to normal vision.
    6. There’s no weapon wheel or visor wheel as an option.
    7. There’s still very long delay between changing any weapons or visors, which feels horribly out of date……and much more.

    I bought this day one, and will by the physical version again as soon as it comes out. But don’t let the cultists convince anyone honest that this game is anywhere near an 8/10. It’s a 6/10 for modern gaming standards.    … Expand

    Game makers: take note. Metroid Prime Remastered is a masterclass in how to modernize a masterpiece. Twenty years after the series made the transition to 3D, this remains a classic that has stood the test of time. The updated visuals prove that with some optimization and visual tricks, the Switch is really capable of delivering great games. In fact, this is one of prettier – if not the prettiest –Switch games to date.

    A classic returns in Metroid Prime Remastered. A complete visual overhaul makes the world of the game look better and more detailed than ever before. A new dual-stick control scheme makes the game approachable and palatable for new players, while veterans can opt for controls that mimic the original. Underneath it all, though, the masterpiece that is Metroid Prime Remains unchanged. Some more quality of life improvements could perhaps have been made, but it is a tiny complaint for a near-perfect remaster.
